Chapter 422: Chapter 418.

Chapter 418.

Zhan Luo Sect, the strongest among the next four sects, holds a significant distinction—it is the only sect led by a Titled Douluo.

The sect master, Zhan Aotian, a ninety-fourth-level Titled Douluo, possesses the Golden Great Ape as his martial soul—a soul beast renowned for its immense combat prowess. Likewise, the disciples of Zhan Luo Sect predominantly have powerful beast martial souls, mirroring their leader's strength.

Despite their formidable power, Zhan Luo Sect's conditions for submission were surprisingly straightforward, defeat their members, one by one, from top to bottom.

On paper, this was hardly a challenge for someone like Wang Feng—or even for Bibi Dong. Yet, Wang Feng couldn't help but wonder: why hadn't Bibi Dong simply forced Zhan Luo Sect into submission?

The other two sects had posed complex requirements, which Bibi Dong couldn't meet without resorting to force. In those cases, she used her overwhelming strength to intimidate them into reluctantly aligning with the Soul Hall. But Zhan Luo Sect's conditions seemed far simpler. With her abilities, Bibi Dong could easily meet their demands.

It wasn't until Wang Feng defeated every member of Zhan Luo Sect, including Zhan Aotian himself, that he finally understood the reason.

As Zhan Aotian admitted, "Our sect's ancestral motto is this, 'I would rather die than kneel at a woman's feet!'"

Wang Feng: "..."

The ancestor of Zhan Luo Sect was undoubtedly a staunchly traditionalist, perhaps even the very epitome of a "rigid steel-hearted man." He was likely the same individual who founded the God of War Academy, further solidifying this stubborn ideology.

Because of this deeply ingrained principle, Bibi Dong couldn't compel Zhan Luo Sect to surrender completely.

Thus, with Zhan Luozong subdued, the next four sects officially submitted to the Soul Hall. Some, however, seemed more loyal to Wang Feng than to Bibi Dong herself.

A month ago, the Elephant Armored Sect had returned from their expedition to the Extreme North with great success, having resolved the issues with Huyan Li's martial soul.

At this moment, the five-year agreement was just under half a month away.

"Xiao San should be leaving Heaven Dou City by now," Wang Feng mused to himself.

This journey had brought Wang Feng immense insight. He now had a clearer understanding of the power dynamics across the entire continent. He had also gained a thorough comprehension of the Soul Hall's strengths and weaknesses, allowing him to formulate plans with confidence.

Additionally, Wang Feng had reaped numerous personal benefits during this inspection tour. He had mastered the Seven Kills Sword Technique and Sword Qi from the Sword Douluo, consumed the Seven Emotions and Six Desires Grass from the Medicine Spirit Sect, awakened his seventh blood pattern, and significantly strengthened the remaining six. Furthermore, he had learned the art of controlling a cauldron from the Qi Transformation Sect.

Most importantly, Wang Feng had become Bibi Dong's confidant, rising to the position of second-in-command within the Soul Hall. His reputation as the White-Pontiff now echoed throughout the continent.

Of the seven major sects and the two empires, only the Clear Sky Sect remained unvisited.

It was said that the Clear Sky Sect currently had two Titled Douluo, one of whom was a Super Douluo. Wang Feng felt a tinge of regret for not being able to visit, but reflecting on his journey thus far, he felt content. After all, he had already mastered the famed Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer Technique.

For Wang Feng, visiting the Clear Sky Sect wasn't strictly necessary. However, if he did go, it would undoubtedly lead to a reunion with Tang San.

Bibi Dong's latest orders soon arrived, summoning Wang Feng back to the Supreme Pontiff Palace to discuss important matters. Clearly, Bibi Dong intended to involve him in her next strategic plans.

With Wang Feng's inspection tour successfully concluded, any lingering doubts Bibi Dong may have had about him were likely dispelled.

With this, Wang Feng and his group began their journey back to the Supreme Pontiff Palace.

At the Clear Sky Sect.

The chain bridge spanning the cliff swayed ominously. Evidence of a fierce battle was everywhere—several chains had snapped, and the surrounding cliffs bore deep scars. Rocks still crumbled sporadically, tumbling into the abyss below.

At the far end of the bridge, a group of elders stood alongside a rugged-looking middle-aged man. Their expressions were solemn, and one elder, his robes torn and body battered, looked particularly grim. It was clear he had just fought a grueling battle.

Moments later, a figure emerged from below the cliff.

It was Tang San!

The Eight Spider Lances protruding from his back pierced the rock –face as he ascended rapidly. His body, riddled with wounds, bore testimony to the intensity of the struggle.

Once he reached solid ground, the Eight Spider Lances—now cracked and battered—retracted into his body. Seeing Tang San's figure ascend to the ground, the old man with a grim expression finally relaxed. His tattered robes hung loosely as he let out a cold snort.

"I'm a man of my word. A loss is a loss. I agree to let you return to the clan and reclaim your family name."

Tang San, standing on shaky legs, smiled faintly despite his pale complexion. His body bore the weight of his recent ordeal, but his heart brimmed with a bittersweet sense of accomplishment.

Half a year ago, the emergence of the White Pontiff had reignited Tang San's determination. Filled with resolve, he graduated from Yuexuan a month ahead of schedule and embarked on a journey that brought him closer to his past and his purpose.

In less than a year, Tang San had completed his studies under his aunt, returned to his father, Tang Hao, and uncovered a long-buried secret about his mother. His mother, Ah Yin, was none other –than the Blue Silver Emperor—a 100,000-year-old soul beast.

Years ago, she was hunted down by the Soul Hall, forcing her to sacrifice herself to protect Tang Hao, gifting him her soul ring and soul bone in the process. The tragedy had left Tang Hao devastated, sinking into a life of despair and isolation in Holy Soul Village.

Upon learning the truth, Tang San's anger burned brighter than ever. The Soul Hall had become his sworn enemy.

Tang San also inherited his mother's legacy—the 100,000-year-old Blue Silver Emperor's right leg bone. Additionally, Tang Hao passed down two of the Clear Sky School's inherited soul bones, severed from his own body. With his father's guidance, Tang San made his way to the Clear Sky School, seeking to reconnect with his heritage and his clan.

When he arrived, he met his uncle, Tang Xiao, also known as Xiaotian Douluo, and several elders of the sect. Among them was Lieyang Douluo, the Seventh Elder, a Titled Douluo who openly disapproved of Tang San's existence. Insults were exchanged, and the confrontation escalated into a battle.

Tang San, unwilling to back down, challenged Lieyang Douluo, even knowing the odds were stacked against him.

Lieyang Douluo, to preserve fairness, restrained himself to 50% of his strength. Even so, the battle pushed Tang San to his limits. With extraordinary perseverance, his twin martial souls, the Eight Spider Lances, and the strength of his two domains, Tang San narrowly managed to defeat the elder, albeit at great personal cost.

As he stood there, battered but victorious, Tang San couldn't help but reflect bitterly,

'I'm still too weak. Lieyang Douluo is only at level 92 and used just half his strength. If the White Pontiff were here, I wouldn't last more than three moves, let alone face Bibi Dong herself.'

The gap between him and the Soul Hall felt insurmountable. Even so, for the elders of the Clear Sky School, Tang San's performance was nothing short of astonishing.

Gathering his resolve, Tang San addressed the assembled elders. "Honored seniors, now that I've proven myself, can my father return to the Clear Sky School?"

His words hung in the air, heavy with both hope and tension.

Tang Hao's banishment had been the result of his union with Ah Yin. While the former sect master, Tang Hao's grandfather, hadn't opposed the relationship initially, everything changed when the Soul Hall targeted the Clear Sky School. Their relentless assault brought disaster upon the sect.

To preserve the clan, Tang Hao was expelled, carrying the weight of the sect's hopes and disappointments on his shoulders. Since then, the once-revered prodigy had lived in exile, unable to return.

The Second Elder shook his head resolutely.

"Second Uncle," Tang Xiao interjected, his tone laced with frustration. "Little San has proven his strength and potential! The Clear Sky School needs a leader now more than ever. You know my temperament—I'm not fit to lead, especially not in the face of our current predicament. We are on the brink of ruin, and the Soul Hall grows stronger by the day. The White Pontiff's reputation alone has shaken the entire continent. If we continue like this—"

The Second Elder raised his hand to silence him, his expression stern but tired. "I understand your concerns, Xiao. Tang Hao is no longer the man he once was, and while this boy is exceptional, he's not enough. You wish for Tang San to inherit the leadership of the Clear Sky School, but I'm not yet convinced."

The elder's voice softened as he sighed. "We've lost too much. The previous sect master's passing has left me as the oldest among us, but even I cannot ignore the scars of the past. The Clear Sky School cannot afford to make another mistake."

The elders exchanged uncertain glances, the weight of their decision pressing heavily on them all.
