vol. 5 chapter 76 - Young Tiamat
Noa had once explained that both she and the Ultimate Fear came into existence only after the essence of the Dragon God, Tiamat, was split apart.
Noa represented justice and order, while the Ultimate Fear embodied chaos and disorder.
These two forces, Primordial and Chaos, stood as the ultimate opposites in this world.
If one were to reverse this process—if these opposing forces were to merge once again—wouldn’t that recreate the original Tiamat?
Leon swallowed nervously. He didn’t want to acknowledge the implications of his theory.
Even as someone not of dragon lineage, Leon could sense the overwhelming might of Tiamat.
The influence of the Ultimate Fear’s followers alone had already forced Leon into a state of constant vigilance. But Tiamat?
That was a god, a being that existed since the very beginning of the continent’s creation.
The idea of confronting such a being was beyond Leon’s comprehension, a battle he wasn’t sure anyone could endure.
“Damn it, none of our magic is working on him!”
“If magic is ineffective, physical attacks might work. Didn’t the Red Dragon Queen knock him away earlier? He wasn’t injured, but it must have had some effect.”
“Even if physical attacks work, it’s nearly impossible to deal significant damage to Konstantin in this state.”
“Agreed. His aura continues to grow stronger, far surpassing our own. If we hadn’t combined forces earlier, none of us would have been able to restrain him alone.”
“Perhaps the Silver Dragon Prince has a plan,” one of the Dragon Kings suggested, turning toward Leon.
All eyes fell on Leon, who sighed and rubbed his temples.
“Prince, you’ve fought Konstantin before. Do you know what’s happening to him?”
Leon frowned in thought before responding slowly.
“He’s lost control of himself. You can attack him, but don’t aim to kill. Killing him won’t solve this.”
He paused and added grimly,
“Any information about the Ultimate Fear must be suppressed. If news spreads, it could lead to widespread panic.”
One of the younger Dragon Kings, recently ascended, sneered.
“So, does that mean the Silver Prince intends to sit this one out? What about the deaths caused by the Ultimate Fear? How will you answer for them?”
Leon clenched his fists but remained silent, caught in a difficult position. Konstantin’s current state had forced Leon into the spotlight, where every decision carried consequences.
Isha stepped forward, her eyes narrowing.
“Visedan, you’ve barely been a Dragon King for a few days. Don’t talk to my brother-in-law like that. Did he say he wouldn’t act? If anything, he did more than anyone else earlier to restrain Konstantin.”
The younger Dragon King flushed but said nothing more.
Isha glanced at Leon, lowering ➤ NоvеⅠight ➤ (Read more on our source) her voice.
“I understand how you feel, but we need to bring Konstantin under control or snap him out of it. Otherwise…”
She looked around at the wrecked academy grounds and the distant, panicked students and teachers.
“Otherwise, the damage will escalate, and someone could get seriously hurt—or worse. If that happens, even if we regain control, the academy will never forgive Konstantin.”
Leon nodded. “I know, Sis. I’m thinking of a way.”
Konstantin, still thrashing violently, seemed to be fighting against the dark power consuming him.
“Magic doesn’t work, and without Rosvisser, my physical attacks aren’t strong enough to restrain him,” Leon muttered.
“My ‘Nine Gates of the Duel’ won’t work either. The earlier gates lack the power to hurt him, and the ninth gate might kill him outright…”
As they discussed, Konstantin let out another guttural roar, charging toward the crowd with flames trailing behind him.
Leon activated his String of Shadows and crouched slightly, ready to intercept.
“He’s losing the fight against the Black Dragon Scale…”
Konstantin rampaged through the campus, smashing buildings and scattering debris.
The gathered Dragon Kings launched a barrage of magical attacks, but all spells dissipated upon contact with Konstantin’s chaotic aura.
Just as Leon feared, Konstantin, fully under the influence of the Black Dragon Scale, was causing extensive damage.
Amidst the chaos, Hefei ran toward her father, tears streaming down her face.
“Father! Please wake up! I’m begging you!”
Her cries echoed, reaching Konstantin.
His movements faltered. His sharp claws stopped mere inches from the throat of a young Dragon King who had tried to restrain him.
“Father… Hefei…” Konstantin murmured, his voice trembling and distorted.
But the chaotic flames surrounding him flared violently, consuming the moment of clarity he had regained.
At that moment, a deep blue magic circle lit up beneath Konstantin.
Water tendrils erupted from the circle, binding his limbs and holding him in place.
Leon dashed forward with lightning speed, pulling the injured Dragon King away.
Looking back at Konstantin, Leon noticed the distinct magical aura of the circle.
“That’s—”
“S-class water magic: Fury of the Ocean Cage,” a calm voice announced.
Turning around, Leon saw Claudia, the Sea Dragon King, standing with her arms crossed. Her long blue hair billowed elegantly in the wind.
“Ordinary magic won’t work on Konstantin now,” she explained. “The only things that can hurt him are physical attacks or…” She paused, her gaze sharpening.
“Primordial magic.”
Leon frowned.
“And where’s Rosvisser?”
Claudia smirked.
“Your wife is on her way. But she’d better hurry. We’re running out of options.”
