Shut Up, Malevolent Dragon! I Don’t Want to Have Any More Children With You

vol. 5 chapter 51 - Where is Noa? So Hard to Guess

Ultimate Fear…
Leon focused, trying to recall any mention of such an entity in his past experiences but came up empty.

“Please, Tower Master, elaborate,” Leon requested.
The Tower Master nodded and began speaking slowly and deliberately:
“In ancient times, after the Dragon God Amat accomplished the magnificent feat of ‘Creating the World,’ Amat split itself into two parts:

“One part, representing justice and order, became Noah, the Primordial Dragon King revered as the hero of the dragon race. Noah single-handedly ended a century-long civil war among dragons, earning the title of the Dragonkind’s savior.
“The other part, representing chaos and disorder, became… this Ultimate Fear.”
Leon listened attentively, completely absorbed in the story.

This history was completely new to him.
Even Claudia, who prided herself on her knowledge of dragon lore, had only ever heard scattered rumors about Noah. She knew nothing about Noah’s origins, life, or ultimate fate.
As Leon absorbed the Tower Master’s words, he couldn’t help but feel astonished.

The idea that the Dragon God Amat split itself into two opposing forces after creating the world was incomprehensible from a human perspective.
Still, having lived among dragons for so long, Leon had grown more accepting of the bizarre.
He continued listening as the Tower Master explained further.

“Noah and the Ultimate Fear are natural opposites, destined adversaries,” the Tower Master said.
“After being separated from the Dragon God’s body, Noah took it upon themselves to eliminate the Ultimate Fear. Noah traveled across Samael, tirelessly searching for traces of their foe.
“They clashed multiple times, but each time the Ultimate Fear managed to escape. When they met again, the Ultimate Fear had always grown stronger.

“Over time, Noah discovered that the Ultimate Fear feeds on all the negative emotions in the world, constantly growing stronger as a result.
“Negative emotions never disappear—if anything, they multiply. This meant that the Ultimate Fear could never truly be destroyed.”
“In their final battle, Noah expended ✪ Nоvеlіgһt ✪ (Official version) all their power to seal the Ultimate Fear, falling into a deep slumber themselves.”

“When Noah awoke again, the dragon civil war had already begun.”
The Tower Master paused and glanced at Leon, who was still hanging on to every word.
Leon noticed the pause and connected the dots, interjecting:
“The civil war would generate more negative emotions, and if those emotions were absorbed by the Ultimate Fear, it would break free of Noah’s seal and return to the world, correct?”

The Tower Master smiled approvingly and nodded.
“That’s right. Whether it was out of compassion for the Dragon God’s descendants or to prevent the Ultimate Fear from breaking free, Noah intervened to end the civil war.”
“Fortunately, they succeeded, and the Ultimate Fear did not reemerge to plague the world.”

“But Noah understood all too well that conflict and war would never vanish from the world. The Ultimate Fear breaking free was only a matter of time.”
“So, after quelling the civil war, Noah turned into a statue, choosing to sleep in the farthest reaches of the extreme north. They waited for the day their enemy would return, ready to bear the title of ‘Primordial’ once more and save the dragon race from peril.”
The Tower Master took a deep breath and exhaled slowly before continuing:

“The struggle between Noah and the Ultimate Fear is endless. Only when one of them truly perishes can it stop.
“Justice and chaos. Order and disorder. Holiness and decay—”
Leon clenched his fists, finishing the Tower Master’s sentence with a determined voice:

“Light and… shadow.”
“Exactly. That’s why I believe the ‘Shadow’ you’ve been investigating, and their so-called ‘Great Being,’ must be the Ultimate Fear,” the Tower Master said.
“In ancient times, there were always those who succumbed to the allure of corruption and willingly became followers of the Ultimate Fear.

“They tirelessly gathered the negative emotions needed to break the seal for their ‘Dark God.’
“Do you remember the human-dragon war that recently ended? Many Dragon Kings were secretly colluding with humans and the forces of darkness to deliberately prolong the conflict.”
“I suspect that was all orchestrated by ‘Shadow.’”

The Tower Master’s analysis made perfect sense.
In fact, the moment the Tower Master mentioned that the Ultimate Fear feeds on negative emotions, Leon had already started connecting it to the recent human-dragon war.
“Shadow” had secretly manipulated some Dragon Kings to cooperate, deliberately prolonging the war. On the surface, the goal seemed to be continuing the conflict and seizing dragon scales to achieve immortality—

But after years of investigation, Leon had come to believe that Shadow’s true motives had to be deeper.
If Shadow’s actions to prolong the war were tied to the Ultimate Fear’s need for negative emotions, everything suddenly became clear.
After all, Amat had once stopped the dragon civil war just in time to prevent the Ultimate Fear from growing stronger.

Now, this war had been even more devastating.
“This makes sense…” Leon murmured to himself, deeply immersed in thought.
The Tower Master chuckled lightly as he retrieved a milky white crystal from his palm, handing it to Leon.

“This is a modified Primordial Crystal, designed to detect traces of Noah’s soul within a certain range. Veronica and the others have already taken some for their search. Please, Prince Leon, take this and assist us.”
Leon accepted the crystal, its light glinting faintly in the rising sun.
“I’ll do my best. Thank you, Tower Master,” Leon said sincerely.

“You and I share the same goal—there’s no need for thanks,” the Tower Master replied with a warm smile.
As Leon stepped into the sunlight, the Tower Master gazed at him, sensing boundless potential in the young dragon prince standing before him.
