Shut Up, Malevolent Dragon! I Don’t Want to Have Any More Children With You

Vol 5. Chapter 98: Love is the Bond

"So... the seal I set in place back then is the very foundation of Sky City?"

The ancestral spirit temporarily inhabiting Noa's body spoke with faint surprise.

"It seems this Moses fellow is quite capable. I've been to Sky City many times and never realized the seal lay hidden there."

Leon nodded. "The Tower Master said he has reinforced the seal multiple times over the years. If you were to visit now, you'd definitely sense the presence of the Ultimate Fear."

The spirit sighed, letting go of the matter.

"Using the positive emotions of Sky City's residents to counteract the negative energy fueling the Ultimate Fear... Without Moses, we'd all be doomed by now."

Leon refrained from judging the Tower Master's actions, simply remarking,

"As the Tower Master himself said, he entrusted everything to fate, letting events unfold naturally. Building Sky City atop your seal was always destined to be part of this battle."

Leon paused, his tone tinged with reflection.

"Fate" and "destiny" were words he'd once scoffed at.

The passionate youth he had been had believed in controlling his own destiny, blazing a trail through hardship with sheer willpower. Back then, the end was always clear—a goal waiting to be reached.

But now, as the specter of the Ultimate Fear loomed closer, the outcome seemed veiled in uncertainty.

Victory?

Defeat?

Or something else entirely?

Leon couldn't say for sure.

But he could fight with all his might ✧ NоvеIight ✧ (Original source) to tip the scales toward a brighter future—for Sky City, for the Tower Master's sacrifices, and for the people he loved.

When clarity eluded him, "fate" had become a comforting excuse—a fragile hope to hold on to.

"Giving up before the battle even begins is not an option," Leon thought resolutely.

"What's your plan now that we only have a month left?" Leon asked.

The ancestral spirit brushed dust off the table, her gaze falling to Noa's hands—hands that bore a resemblance to her own from millennia ago.

"First, we gather enough allies," she said simply.

"You mean to use Konstantin's black dragon scale?"

The spirit nodded. "The enemy will undoubtedly attempt every trick to unleash the Ultimate Fear, especially once Konstantin is under their control."

"And where will you find these allies?"

Leon paused briefly before answering. "Isha, Claudia, Odin... and others. We'll need all the help we can get."

The ancestral spirit's expression turned serious.

"But no matter how many allies you gather, Leon, remember this—at the end, it will fall on you alone to face the Ultimate Fear. This is the Thunder Child's destiny. No one else can bear it."

Leon's gaze fell to his palm. Slowly, he clenched his fist.

"I understand. No matter the cost, I will defeat the shadows and the Ultimate Fear."

The ancestral spirit studied Leon for a moment before turning toward the balcony. She looked out at the snowy courtyard of the Silver Dragon Palace, where her descendants played carefree games.

In a quiet corner stood Noa, her expression unreadable as she stared at the endless snowfall.

"The Ultimate Fear will be stronger than it was millennia ago," the spirit murmured. "I can no longer stop it. The burden now lies with you, my descendants. I can only apologize..."

Her voice carried the weight of centuries of regret, tinged with an aching powerlessness.

"War, turmoil, and even the acceleration of the Ultimate Fear's release... all of it stems from my decisions," she confessed silently. Your support on M|V|L8EMPYR keeps this series going.

Yet, despite her remorse, she made a surprising request to Leon.

"Allow us to help you in this fight."

Leon blinked, surprised by her uncharacteristic plea.

"The fight is yours to lead, but let us stand beside you. If we fall short by even the smallest margin, all our efforts will be in vain. I cannot allow that."

Leon's brows furrowed. "That's not like you, Noa. You've always insisted on taking everything upon yourself, even when it meant forcing others to follow."

The ancestral spirit chuckled softly, her eyes softening.

"These past years with you have taught me something important," she admitted.

Leon's curiosity piqued. "And what's that?"

"That some sacrifices are necessary... but others should never be made."

With those words, she gently turned Noa's body to face him, crouching to meet his gaze.

She reached out, brushing back Noa's hair and straightening her posture, a rare warmth in her expression.

"I never understood the depth of bonds until I saw how you fought to protect Helena. You weren't just driven by friendship—it was your heart guiding you.

"But even if you had succeeded, the cost of your life would have left Helena shattered. Such sacrifices only lead to greater pain for those left behind."

The ancestral spirit's voice softened further.

"Bonds aren't chains. They're ties that connect us to one another. Respecting those bonds is the only way to endure the trials ahead."

Leon listened intently, moved by her words.

The spirit finally turned to Noa. "So, I ask this of you, Leon. Let us fight by your side. Respect our choice to stand with you."

Leon knelt before her, looking her in the eyes.

"You're right. I've tried to shield my family from danger, but you've grown stronger, Noa. If I forbade you, you'd only sneak off anyway."

A rare laugh escaped Noa. "You know us too well."

Leon extended his fist toward her, a glimmer of pride in his eyes.

"For once, let's face this together."

Noa hesitated, then raised her fist to meet his.

"Together, Dad. This time... together."
