Shut Up, Malevolent Dragon! I Don’t Want to Have Any More Children With You

Vol 5. Chapter 43: Shadow

When Rosvisser was pregnant with Muse, a six-winged dragonhawk once intruded into the Silver Dragon territory to steal a precious Jade Dew Dragon Fruit.

Enraged, Leon pursued and reclaimed the stolen fruit. However, he soon discovered the reason for the dragonhawk's daring theft: it had risked its life to provide for its mate.

As a husband and father himself, Leon empathized with the dragonhawk's desperation. Furthermore, he wanted to teach his eldest daughter an important lesson about respecting all intelligent beings.

Thus, he gifted one of the dragon fruits to the dragonhawk pair.

Leon had assumed this was a chance encounter, but little did he know, that same dragonhawk would one day save his life in a critical moment.

Gently stroking the feathers on its back, Leon said,

"My mentor's wife once told me, 'Good deeds always bring rewards.' Looks like she was right."

In truth, her words were closer to,"Do good without seeking reward."

Leon, never one for lofty sentiments, had paraphrased them in his own way.

"Well, as long as the intent is noble, it's all the same."

He patted the dragonhawk's head.

"Thanks. I'll need your help once more. As long as I can fly, that thing doesn't scare me."

The six-winged dragonhawk let out a piercing cry before turning around and heading back toward the battlefield.

"That... is that a six-winged dragonhawk? But there aren't any dragons near Flaming Valley. How could a dragonhawk show up here?"

Six-winged dragonhawks weren't ordinary birds—they were dangerous creatures, Iron-Winged Greyhawks, that had evolved under the influence of draconic power.

This kind of evolution only occurred in areas with a strong draconic presence. Considering the scarcity of dragons, such creatures shouldn't exist here.

"It looks... unusual," Rebecca said, narrowing her eyes to study the dragonhawk.

"The traces of draconic power within it are faint, but it's clearly been trained intelligently. It's not like the wild beasts outside that blindly follow orders."

Rebecca couldn't figure out where this creature had come from, but she wiped her tears in relief upon seeing her captain unharmed. Then, pointing at Elizabeth in the sky, she shouted,

"Look, witch! The captain's flying now! Your overgrown fire-breathing beast doesn't stand a chance!"

Elizabeth was startled by the sudden appearance of the dragonhawk.

"This... this wasn't part of the plan! Damn it, Leon..."

"Why don't you just give up and die already!" she screamed.

"Flame Demon! Burn him! And take that damned bird down too!"

At her command, the Flame Demon let out an ear-splitting roar. Its massive wings ignited with fierce flames, its terrifying form resembling a beast straight out of hell.

The monster charged toward Leon, enveloped in blazing fire, like a burning meteor streaking across the sky.

Leon, seated on the dragonhawk's back, patted its left wing and made a series of crossed hand gestures.

"Avoid this attack first, then follow the route I'll guide you on."

The dragonhawk let out a low trill, signaling its understanding.

Its speed was far superior to the Flame Demon's, so dodging the head-on attack was effortless.

The Flame Demon's full-force strike missed entirely as the dragonhawk effortlessly evaded it.

Leon quickly directed the dragonhawk to change course.

But Elizabeth noticed something strange—Leon wasn't heading toward the Flame Demon.

Instead, he and the dragonhawk were circling in the air, tracing an erratic path.

"What is he up to now...?"

On the ground, the members of the Lionheart Guild also noticed the strange flight pattern.

"Is the captain planning an ambush on the Flame Demon?" Libeson sneered.

"Or is he just stalling for time?"

Mite adjusted his glasses thoughtfully.

"No, six-winged dragonhawks are highly intelligent. They can grasp the overall situation of a battle and even understand basic commands in Samaelian. It's unlikely it's just flying around aimlessly."

"Then what exactly is the captain trying to do?"

Meanwhile, the Flame Demon's attacks became increasingly reckless.

Fireballs erupted from its body in all directions, yet Leon and the dragonhawk continued their bizarre spirals, seemingly unfazed.

Elizabeth's patience finally snapped.

"Leon Cosmod! Have you had enough of circling? If you're going to fight, then fight! If not, surrender already!"

"Don't kid yourself into thinking you can wear down the Flame Demon! Its stamina is infinite here in Flaming Valley!" she sneered.

"In the end, both you and that stupid bird will burn to ash!"

Leon and the dragonhawk finally stopped a short distance from the Flame Demon.

Standing up slowly on the dragonhawk's back, Leon glanced at Elizabeth with a calm expression.

"The reason your Flame Demon keeps reviving and has infinite stamina is because Flaming Valley continuously supplies it with power and life," he said.

"No matter how I kill it, it revives within seconds."

"So, I'll just sever its connection to Flaming Valley."

Elizabeth's eyes widened, and a flicker of unease crossed her face.

"Sever? What are you planning, Leon?"

Leon smirked.

"Say goodbye to your precious pet."

With those words, he clasped his hands together.

In an instant, a massive blue magic circle materialized in the sky.

The circle expanded rapidly, its intricate patterns glowing as they stretched across the cliffs of Flaming Valley, marking the activation of the array.

Martin, observing from below, immediately recognized it.

"That's... Thunder Prison Array... Shadow Confinement type."

He let out a low whistle.

"So that's what the captain's been doing. He wasn't flying around aimlessly—he was setting up a magic array!"

Libeson's eyes widened in disbelief.

"He... he completed such a massive array right in front of Elizabeth?"

"Exactly," Martin replied, shaking his head in admiration.

"Normally, even we wouldn't have guessed such erratic flying was part of setting up an array. The captain used that to his advantage to complete this 'trap' right under Elizabeth's nose."

Libeson nodded in realization.

"That's... brilliant."

The blue Thunder Prison Array activated, surrounding the Flame Demon in a barrier. Lightning surged through the array's patterns, locking the monster in place as they extended across the cliffs of Flaming Valley.

The Flame Demon thrashed violently, trying to escape, but every attack it launched was redirected back at itself.

Libeson nodded slowly, realization dawning on his face.

"That's exactly what happened..."

The Thunder Prison Array activated in the sky, its blue energy encapsulating the Flame Demon.

The Flame Demon, furious, charged at the edge of the array with all its might. But every strike it unleashed was reflected right back at its own body.

Moments later, dozens of fiery lightning bolts descended from the heavens, pinning the Flame Demon down and leaving it unable to rise.

Elizabeth watched in disbelief. She understood clearly—Flaming Valley's magma was the source of the Flame Demon's power. But as those arcs of lightning struck the array's boundaries, the demonic energy fueling the Flame Demon was obliterated by the wild electric surges.

If what Leon said was true, and the Thunder Prison Array had truly severed the connection between the Flame Demon and Flaming Valley's energy—

It meant the # Nоvеlight # Flame Demon had lost its immortality.

Seizing the moment, Leon raised his right hand slowly. Dark clouds gathered overhead, and bolts of lightning crackled ominously.

From below, the stunned onlookers could only gaze up at him. He stood tall on the six-winged dragonhawk, his hand glowing with a fierce, untamed power. He looked down at the incapacitated Flame Demon and said coldly,

"Let's see you try to survive myDragon's Endthis time."

With that, Leon brought his hand down in a decisive motion.

A blinding surge of lightning erupted, transforming into massive roaring lions that pounced on the Flame Demon within the array.

"ROAR—!"

The monster's agonized screams gradually faded as it was engulfed in the violent storm of light and sound.

"This strike... will shatter you to pieces."

"No... no... this can't be! Damn you, Leon! You'll pay for this!"

Elizabeth, realizing her plan was falling apart, tried to flee on her skeletal bird. But before she could fly even a hundred meters, a bolt of lightning struck her mount.

"Ahhh!" she screamed as she plummeted to the ground, landing clumsily and painfully.

Seeing her fall, Rebecca and the others rushed over, surrounding her.

"You're not so tough now, are you, witch?" Rebecca sneered, cocking her gun and pressing it against Elizabeth's forehead.

Leon descended gracefully, leaping off the dragonhawk's back and walking toward them. Enjoying the story? Find more at MV-LEMPYR.

"Wait, Rebecca. Don't kill her yet. She probably knows more about their plans."

"Understood, Captain."

Rebecca reluctantly lowered her gun and stepped aside. Leon approached Elizabeth, looking down at her disheveled form with cold, piercing eyes.

"Tell me," he said icily.

"What is the Zero Flame Plan? What is Shadow's ultimate goal?"

Elizabeth didn't respond immediately. Instead, soft, unsettling laughter escaped from behind her tangled hair.

"Heheheh... hahahah... Leon, if I didn't tell you before, what makes you think I'll tell you now? You might as well kill me and dig it out of my brain!"

Leon frowned, his tone calm but chilling.

"Do you know about memory-probing magic? I don't need to kill you to extract what's in your head. But let me warn you—while it won't kill you, it will leave you insane. Is that what you want?"

Elizabeth's laughter stopped abruptly, her smirk frozen in place.

Leon straightened up, his voice steady yet commanding.

"So, tell me everything you know. Otherwise, your future will be in an asylum."

"I—"

"Let her go, Leon."

The unexpected voice came from behind him.

It was deep, unfamiliar, and carried a chilling weight that sent shivers down Leon's spine. The oppressive aura that accompanied it made the air around him feel suffocating.

Leon felt as though he'd been plunged into an icy abyss. He turned his head slowly, his senses on high alert.

What he saw left him stunned. Around him, the members of the Lionheart Guild lay unconscious on the ground, their chests faintly rising and falling—a sign they were still alive.

Standing at the edge of the battlefield was a cloaked figure. The man's face was obscured, but the suffocating pressure radiating from him was almost tangible, saturating the air with a cold, ominous energy.

At his feet lay the unconscious Martin. In his right hand, he held Rebecca by the throat. Her body dangled limply, nearly unconscious.

Leon's pupils constricted. There was no doubt in his mind—this was the man he had been pursuing for years.

"Shadow..."

A deep, frigid voice came from beneath the cloak.

"Release her, or these people will die."

"Ugh—!"

Shadow tightened his grip slightly, causing Rebecca to let out a faint gasp. She had no strength to resist.

Leon couldn't believe it. This man had subdued the entire Lionheart Guild in the blink of an eye without him noticing.

Clenching his fists tightly, Leon ground his teeth in frustration. Slowly, he crouched and helped Elizabeth to her feet.

"Good."

Elizabeth stumbled toward Shadow and immediately hid behind him.

"Useless," Shadow muttered coldly.

"I'm sorry, Master Shadow..." she stammered, trembling.

Shadow ignored her and turned his gaze back to Leon.

"I will kill you myself, Leon. You are the greatest obstacle to its return. Therefore... you must die."

"Its return..."

Shadow slowly began to float, taking Elizabeth with him.

"When you die, it will descend upon this world. Cherish what you have now, Leon, because soon... you will lose everything."

"Damn it, Shadow! Tell me, what exactly are you planning—"

Before Leon could finish, Shadow vanished into thin air, taking Elizabeth with him.

"Damn!" Leon cursed, slamming his fist into the ground before turning to Rebecca and the others.

"Rebecca, Martin—are you okay?"

Rebecca coughed, struggling to her feet.

"Captain... was that Shadow?"

Leon pressed his lips together and nodded.

"It was him. He took Elizabeth."

Rebecca gritted her teeth, her voice shaky.

"That... that power. It was so strong."

Leon lowered his gaze.

"Yes... I could feel it. He's incredibly strong. That strength felt like... a bottomless well."

Rebecca had never heard her captain admit anyone's strength before. She let out a bitter smile.

"Endless, deep, and dark... just like his name—Shadow."

Leon stood up slowly, staring into the distance where Shadow had disappeared. Clenching his fist tightly, he spoke with quiet determination.

"I will defeat him. Mark my words—I will."
