Chapter 32: Chapter 32: Your Daddy Is Sick!
"The dragon clan's medicine is actually quite simple to make."
Sighing, a knock came from the door.
Leon put the Dragon Power into the drawer and got up to open the door.
It was Luna.
"Daddy!"
She called out happily, raising her hands in a gesture asking for a hug.
Leon bent down and skillfully picked her up into his arms. "Good morning, Luna. What brought you to see Daddy today?"
"Big Sister said she was going to do physical training today, so Daddy should have some free time. That's why Luna came to find Daddy."
'Oh~'
'No wonder I haven't seen Luna these past few days except during dinner.'
'It turned out she was worried about delaying my teaching schedule.'
'Who says only the older daughter understands such things?'
'This little daughter is also her old father's precious angel.'
Leon carried Luna inside, and the father and daughter chatted about interesting things from the past few days.
As they talked, Luna sniffed the air, "Daddy, why does your room smell like medicine?"
Leon was speechless.
'What is it with the dragons' sharp noses?'
'Yesterday, Rossweise also smelled the medicine, and now you've smelled it too.'
"There's no medicine smell, Luna must have smelled it wrong," Leon said.
But Luna stubbornly shook her head, "No, I didn't smell it wrong. It's definitely a medicine smell."
She jumped down from Leon's lap and followed the scent to the drawer, opening it directly.
Leon tried to stop her, but it was too late.
Luna pulled out the newly-made Dragon Power, tilting her head and asking, "Daddy, what's this? Is it chocolate candy?"
Seeing the sparkle in her dragon eyes, Leon quickly walked over and gently held her little hand, "This—this is not chocolate candy."
"Then what is it?"
Leon's mind raced, coming up with what he thought might be a reasonable excuse.
After a few moments of hesitation, Leon said seriously, "This is medicine I made for Mommy."
Luna froze for a moment, then quickly set aside her playful mood and asked worriedly, "Medicine for Mommy? Is Mommy sick?"
"No, Mommy isn't sick. She's just been feeling a bit unwell recently, maybe from overworking, so Daddy made this medicine to help her recover. I'll give it to her tonight."
Luna nodded in half-understanding, "Then Daddy, you must take good care of Mommy."
"Mm, Daddy will."
After chatting for a bit more, Luna left, running off.
She said Daddy had been busy helping Big Sister prepare for the entrance exam recently, so she couldn't keep bothering him.
This time, she had come only because she hadn't spent time with Daddy in several days and missed him too much.
'Damn it.'
'This little dragoness really knows how to poke at her old father's heartstrings.'
'It is even warmer than wearing the Black Gold Chariot.'
(Black Gold Chariot: "I ignite your dreams, Casmodeous!")

That night, after finishing her day's work, Rossweise went to the sisters' room.
Noah was still training at the palace's practice field.
Even though it was late, Rossweise understood her older daughter's personality—unless she was too exhausted to move, she wouldn't stop.
In the sisters' room, only Luna was there, sitting on the carpet and playing with her large tail, looking a bit bored. She had tossed her toys to one side.
When she saw her mother, Luna immediately got up and ran over.
"Mommy~"
She no longer called Rossweise "Mother," but instead used the more affectionate "Mommy," as Leon had said she preferred.
Luna ran to Rossweise's skirt, hugged her leg, and looked up. "Mommy, are you feeling better?"
Rossweise blinked in confusion, crouched down, and asked, "Mommy has always been fine. Why do you ask?"
Luna paused, then said, "Daddy said you've been overworked lately and haven't been feeling well. Daddy even made medicine to help you recover."
Rossweise raised her eyebrows. "Made me medicine? What kind?"
"Um… it's blackish-brown, shiny, and looks like chocolate candy."
"Blackish-brown... chocolate candy... for recovery..."
Rossweise pondered these keywords, then murmured in disbelief, "Did that guy actually manage to make medicine that even trained alchemists struggle to craft, in a baby's room of all places...?"
"Mommy?"
"Oh, it's nothing."
Rossweise paused, then remembered her comment to Leon a few days ago: "Your body isn't what it used to be." She roughly guessed why Leon had made Dragon Power.
A sly smile spread across her face as she said to Luna,
"Mommy's body is fine. It's actually Daddy who isn't doing well."
"Daddy?"
"Mm, Daddy is a man, and men have to support the family, so they won't admit when they're unwell. So let's not expose Daddy, okay? Let's just care for him more."
Luna nodded her little head in realization, "Luna understands. Luna will care for Daddy more."
Rossweise smiled and pinched her daughter's chubby cheeks, "Luna is such a good girl. Now, Mommy is going to check on Daddy. Wait here for your sister, okay?"
"Okay! Mommy, make sure to take care of Daddy."
Rossweise stood, her smile deepening,
"Don't worry, Luna, I'll definitely take good care of your Daddy."
—
The rain poured harder.
Leon lay on the bed, one hand behind his head and the other tossing the transparent box containing Dragon Power up and catching it again.
Although the medicine was complete, he still had concerns.
'That is...'
Leon glanced at the peppers on the table.
Most dragon-specific foods were too much for human physiology.
Leon had only managed a tough physique after being trained rigorously from a young age.
Eating a few dragon peppers was one thing.
'But a dragon's nutrient pill...'
'Will its effects be so strong that my body won't be able handle them, leading to adverse effects instead?'
Leon sighed at the ceiling, caught between decisions.
While brooding, someone pushed the door open.
He closed his eyes and tucked the Dragon Power under his pillow.
He didn't need to look to know who it was.
"Hi, Your Majesty," Leon said lazily.
Rossweise sat by the bed. "Tonight, you're taking the initiative to greet me, huh?"
"Yesterday, you started the conversation. Today, it's my turn. Fair enough."
Rossweise chuckled softly, skipping the preamble and getting straight to the point.
"I heard from Luna that you made me a medicine that looks like chocolate candy to improve my health. But I know it's actually for yourself, isn't it?"
Leon immediately sat up, dropping his casual attitude.
"Don't worry, I'm not here to question you. I'm just surprised you could craft such a rare medicine under such poor conditions. May I... take a look at it?"
Rossweise smiled sincerely, clearly wanting to discuss it rather than force the issue.
After a moment of hesitation, Leon retrieved the Dragon Power from under the pillow.
Rossweise examined it carefully, turning it over in her palm.
Leon watched her, wondering if she'd mock him.
But after some time, Rossweise nodded.
"Impressive. To produce such a perfectly formed pill under these circumstances—you're quite skilled, Leon."
She smiled and added jokingly, "What's the phrase? Multitalented?"
Leon froze.
'She's not mocking me?'
He scratched his nose, unused to receiving genuine praise from this dragon queen.
But then, Rossweise's tone shifted.
"However... this medicine isn't suitable for you."
Leon raised an eyebrow. "Why not?"
"As a supplement for dragons, its effects are too potent for a human body to handle. You won't be able to endure it."
Rossweise's voice was serious.
"If you want to recover quickly, I can have Anna and the others prepare a different type of nutrient. But as for this Dragon Power... the human body simply cannot withstand dragon-level potency. There's no precedent for a human consuming dragon medicine."
Her tone wasn't mocking but genuinely advising Leon for his well-being.
But it sounded weird for an enemy to advise.
