Chapter 1667: Full force of Darkness (3)
The corruption energy monsters that had gathered were different from the ones that we had faced before.
It was clear that these were evolved versions of the ones that we had faced before with how they had gained things that the previous corruption energy monsters didn't have.
At the same time, the fluctuations that came from them showed that they were stronger than the previous corruption energy monsters.
As such, they shouldn't have gone down that easily to Joan's flame breath.
Or that would have been the case if it was before where her flames weren't as strong as they were now.
This wasn't that Joan had become stronger, it was all due to the divine energy inside of me becoming stronger. Just like how I had made the relics much stronger than before, it also made Joan's flames much stronger as well.
After a moment of silence, there were battle cries that came from behind me.
The allied forces had stopped for a minute because they had been dazed by what Joan and I did. But when they recovered, they were filled with confidence as they charged at the corruption energy monsters in front of them.
While this was happening, the mist that was around us became even thicker.
I was putting more and more energy into the mist to strengthen it.
It wasn't just because it would weaken the corruption energy monsters around us, it was also because…
"What is this power surging inside of me?"
"I've never felt anything like this before."
"I feel like I can do anything!"
All of the members of the allied forces seemed to have received some kind of buff as they charged forward.
It wasn't just in their mind, it was also in their weapons as they easily cut down the corruption energy monsters in front of them. With the way that they cut them down, it was just like a hot knife through butter.
The corruption energy monsters really put up no resistance at all when it came to facing the allied forces.
It really seemed like it was a one sided slaughter with how things went.
But that was just how it was when it came to the power of the buffs and debuffs that both sides had.
When it came to buffs and debuffs in video games, one would be able to fight something that was almost twice their level as long as there were enough buffs and debuffs.
Right now, the mist that surrounded them was the best buff that they could receive against these corruption energy monsters. At the same time, the mist was the best debuff against the corruption energy monsters.
With the divine energy that was in the mist, it even gave them the ability to coat their weapons in divine energy.
That was how they were able to keep the corruption energy monsters down after cutting them in half like that. Or else the corruption energy monsters would have been able to regenerate from how much corruption energy was present.
The Apostles of Destruction did all that they could to keep sending out more of these corruption energy monsters, but they found that they weren't able to keep up with the speed that they were being cut down.
It really was as if these humans had been injected with steroids with the way that they acted.
It was as if they had gained their second wind and wouldn't stop until all of the corruption energy monsters were taken down.
As such, the Apostles of Destruction had no choice but to personally make a move.
But they soon found that they weren't actually able to do anything either.
First, they suffered the same debuff as the corruption energy monsters the moment that they stepped forward. It seemed that the mist had the same effect on them as it did the corruption energy monsters.
Though in the case of the Apostles of Destruction, they were stronger than the normal corruption energy monsters.
Still, these were the forces of the racial alliance that had been gathered.
These were the strongest force among the different races that came to fight the forces of Destruction.
That was why there were others that wielded divine relics that stepped forward.
It wasn't just the popes of the Holy Empire, the Merman King, and Alidus that had relics.
The elves, the gnomes, and even the dwarves had brought out relics of their own.
For the elves, it was bows that were made from the branches of the Tree of Life that were similar to the branch that I wielded. Even the arrows that they used were carved from the branches of the Tree of Life.
For the gnomes, they brought out a cauldron that created sacred potions that they threw out as disposables.
As for the Dwarven King, there was a powerful warhammer that seemed to crack the very earth itself that swung at the enemies.
Even though they were relics in their own rights, they also received the buff that came from being in the mist. It seemed that the divine energy that was inside of me was compatible with all forms of divine energy that it could buff everything.
There was a part of me that really couldn't help wondering just what kind of divine energy this was.
But there wasn't the time to think about this as there was a burst of corruption energy that came from behind the forces of Destruction.
It seemed that we had stirred the pot enough that the boss had come out.
"Wasn't it enough last time? Have you still not learned your lesson yet?"
When this voice rang out, we all knew who was coming since it was impossible for us to forget this voice.
Me especially since this voice belonged to the person that had almost killed me and Joan.
Once this voice and this corruption energy appeared, there was a dark figure that walked out from behind the forces of Destruction.
It was the Apostle of Destruction that belonged to the Four Omens.
