As we came closer and closer to where the array was, the more the effects of the spreading corruption energy showed itself.

With the way that the land in front of us changed, it really drove home how serious this was.

At the same time, there were many different corruption energy monsters that stood in our way as we headed to where the array was.

It was by no means a normal journey.

There was no doubt that the Apostle of Destruction would be expecting us when we arrived.

But we had no idea just what was waiting for us since it was too risky to scout it out.

There were some people that just wanted to take this risk and scout it out anyway, but I stopped them before they could do anything foolish.

If we were going to do this, we needed everyone working together.

We couldn't split our group or else there was no doubt that we would fall apart trying to work with each other in the enemy territory. This wasn't the place to make rash decisions.

Though I had to admit that I was worried about what was waiting for us.

The amount of time that had passed since the Apostle of Destruction had appeared was more than enough for it to summon something else. There might even be a second member of the Four Omens that was summoned.

There was certainly more than enough corruption energy to do this.

While I was confident about taking down the Apostle of Destruction now, that didn't mean that I would be able to take care of two of them. Not to mention that a new Apostle of Destruction might have new abilities that would be hard to deal with.

As I thought about this, the more anxious that I felt about all of this.

So in the end, I just stopped myself from thinking any deeper.

It came at a good time since there was a burst of corruption energy that suddenly came from beneath us.

It was a good thing that we were traveling through the air, which meant that I had the chance to intercept it before it hit us.

However, the burst of corruption energy wasn't the only thing that came out.

There were different corruption energy monsters that came out of the pillar of corruption energy that burst out of the ground. It was clear that this was some kind of ambush that had been set up to take care of us.

I easily blocked the corruption energy with a shield of ice before saying to the others, "Take them out."

As soon as they received this order, no one wasted a single second as they released their attacks.

It went to show just how much influence I had on the forces of the racial alliance with the way that they followed my orders. Even though there was still the bigger battle that was waiting for us, they didn't hold back at all.

It seemed that as long as I gave the order, they would follow it.

But of course, I couldn't let them waste all of their energy just fighting these corruption energy monsters.

So I raised the hand that was holding the scarf.

The moment that this scarf was lifted up, there was a layer of mist that appeared around this entire area. The mist appeared in an instant which caught both the allied forces and the corruption energy monsters off guard.

Then there were screams of pain that came from the corruption energy monsters as they spread out in different directions. It was clear that they were trying to avoid the influence of the mist, but they just couldn't go fast enough to clear it.

When the allied forces saw this, it seemed like they were even more inspired as they chased after the corruption energy monsters.

When the corruption energy monsters were weakened by the mist like this, they just couldn't outrun the allied forces.

At the same time, they just couldn't fight back against the allied forces since they were much weaker than before.

The only thing that they could do was try to fight back before being slaughtered by the allied forces.

While this was happening, I gave a satisfied nod seeing the reaction of the allied forces.

When they were able to easily slaughter the corruption energy monsters like this, they were slowly gaining confidence in themselves. Seeing how easy it was to fight against the corruption energy monsters, they clearly felt that this upcoming battle wouldn't be as hard as they thought it would be.

This was the perfect morale boost before the fight began.

I even had to praise the Apostle of Destruction for sending this wave of corruption energy monsters at us before we fought for real.

Of course, the only reason that it was this easy was because of the mist that was supporting them.

Not only did the mist weaken the corruption energy monsters, it actually strengthened them as well. The mist was made from my divine energy which had a strengthening effect.

Though it was spread out because it was in the form of mist, it was still surrounding them and making them stronger.

That was the second reason why it was so easy dealing with these corruption energy monsters.

The last benefit of this fight was that it gave us information.

After all, the corruption energy monsters that came out were different from the ones that we faced before. There were all kinds of new corruption energy monsters that came out of the ground to ambush us.

These were all corruption energy monsters that we had never faced before.

Fighting them now would tell us how to deal with them and what kind of weaknesses they had.

Well other than the obvious weakness that they had towards divine energy.

When it was over, we continued forward.

But this time, it seemed that everyone was much more confident about our chances of finishing off that Apostle of Destruction.
