Chapter 1554: Shrinking Potion (2)
When the meal was over, she didn't hesitate to take out money to pay for it.
The waiters didn't even bother bringing a check since they recognized who I was. Even if I didn't pay, it wouldn't matter since they would be able to get compensation from the castle.
At the same time, it would be considered doing their part for the country since everyone knew that we were hosting the giants as guests currently.
With such an important diplomatic mission, it was only natural that they would want to do their part.
But Isra wouldn't let them do that.
So the waiters had no choice but to bring a check over that Isra slammed money down on the table to pay with. Only when one looked closely, it was clear that this money was quite old.
With the state of her gold coins, it really seemed like she was using dug up relics just to pay for this meal.
If I had to guess, it was most likely because these were gold coins that the elders had collected in the past.
The giants didn't really trade with money like humans did. It was only recently that they started trading with money since they had opened up trade with the Kite Kingdom during this time.
As such, they had no choice but to take some money since it wasn't just the Kite Kingdom they were trading with.
They had also been trading with the other countries with the Kite Kingdom as an intermediary, which was why the giants had no choice but to collect money as well.
But even if they collected money, it wasn't as if they would be able to collect that much.
So the giants were still lacking money when it came to interacting with the humans.
The elders of the giant race had lived much longer than the other giants and they had collected money from the past. They never really thought that they would use it again, but it now had a use.
Though it was clear by the look on the face of the waiters that they didn't know if they should accept this.
Even if it was made of gold, these were gold coins with patterns that they didn't recognize. That was why it was hard for them to figure out if these gold coins could even be considered a valid currency.
But in the end, they chose to accept it.
After all, even if it wasn't a valid currency, they would be able to apply for compensation from the castle for today.
As such, it was best not to make a fuss in front of these important people.
I could see all of this as I watched the waiters looking over the gold coins that Isra paid with.
But I didn't say anything since I didn't want to embarrass her.
I just kept in mind to talk to Haley about this to make sure that they were properly compensated for this.
That was the only thing that I could do for both Isra and this restaurant.
Once the bill was settled, we left the restaurant. However, Isra didn't seem like she was willing to let me go.
That was why…
"Let's walk around a bit as exercise after the meal." She said while grabbing my arm.
Even if I wanted to release her, I wasn't able to do so with how much strength she was exerting.
Her body might have shrunk because of the Shrinking Potion, but that didn't mean that she had become weaker. It only made her physique smaller, but she still had the same muscles as before.
That was why Isra was able to exert a large amount of strength even though she was holding me gently.
Well, it wasn't as if I was against walking around with her.
After all, I wasn't technically doing anything bad even if it felt that way to me. This was something that my wives had already approved of, so it wasn't as if I should feel any guilt towards them for this.
Though it was impossible for me to completely erase all traces of guilt that I felt.
Still, with Isra leading the way, there wasn't much that I could do.
The Kite Kingdom had changed since I had taken over as the king.
Even though it was night now, there were lanterns that were lit all over the place. They were street lamps that I had Haley set up with national funds.
She was confused why I had her do this, but I knew that this was the best way to drive up the economy.
After all, most people were only free after a long day of work and this was the only free time that they had to buy the things that they wanted. With the light of the lanterns helping the stores remain open, there were plenty of people that came out to the streets even though it was night time.
It was actually just as busy as it was in the day time, if not busier.
That was the effect of just adding a few lanterns with public funds.
Isra seemed like she was very interested in the items that were being sold, so I took this chance to buy the things that she wanted.
Though I was king, it wasn't as if there was much that I spent money on since there wasn't anything that I really needed. And if there was anything that I really needed, I usually got it from someone giving it to me instead of me buying it.
As such, I had quite a bit of money saved up.
And of course, Isra was happy to receive these gifts from me.
But all good things had to come to an end, or at least that was what I thought.
When it was getting late and the shops were closing, I thought about sending her back and then going back to the castle.
Only Isra grabbed my arms and said, "Can you come with me to my room, there's something that I want to show you."
