The mermaids had a special dance that they reserved for certain occasions.

It was a dance that they would only show to a few people.

If possible, it was a dance that they would only show to a single person if they could.

But then again, it wasn't as if life would go the way that one wanted.

That was why it was possible that they would have to do this dance several times in their lives.

Simply put, this was a mating dance.

This was a dance that they only did if they were interested in the other side.

If the other side accepted, then they would join them in this dance and they would get together. If the other side wasn't interested, then they wouldn't dance along with them.

This was the mermaid's way of making a confession.

I had seen this in the game before, it was even a special CG event that was supposed to be seen when one raised their favourability with a mermaid to the max. Since it was so special, of course I recognized it with a single look.

Only I didn't expect Ariel to suddenly do something like this.

At the same time, I didn't really know how to respond.

It wasn't that I didn't know what to do, it was simply that I wasn't a merman. It wasn't as if I could go into the water and dance along with her…

When Ariel finished her dance, she came to the surface of the water and just looked at me as if she was waiting for a response.

With how earnest she was looking at me, that made it even more awkward for me as I didn't know what to say.

But in the end, it wasn't as if I could just leave her hanging like this.

Instead, I reached my hand out towards her and said, "Come out of the pool for a moment so I can talk to you properly."

I could see that there was a trace of confusion that appeared in Ariel's eyes when she heard this, but she did take my hand in the end and came out of the pool.

I pulled out the potion that was hidden on the side for her to drink.

She had naturally prepared a way to turn back into her human form after this was over, so it wasn't strange that this potion was here.

She seemed a bit hesitant when she saw me offer this potion to her, but she drank it in the end and came up in human form.

After coming up, Ariel was about to take her clothes and put them back on, but I stopped her before she could. As she looked at me with a confused look, I reached one hand out towards her and said, "May I have this dance."

When I didn't feel anything, I looked up to see her looking at me with a confused look on her face.

But I just waited for her to take my hand.

She slowly took it in the end and I came back up before leading her in a dance.

During all of this, there was the same look of confusion that was on Ariel's face as if she didn't know what was happening.

After leading her for a bit, I said, "This is my response. It's not the same as in mermaid culture, but this will have to do since I can't do the same thing that you mermaids do."

Ariel's expression became strange when she looked at me, but eventually she asked, "Is this really how you feel?"

I didn't say anything at first, but eventually I said, "You've grown on me."

That was honestly all that I could say.

If it wasn't for that, then I might not have accepted her that easily even if it was what my wives told me to do.

Once she heard this, there were tears that started coming from her eyes, but there was also a smile that appeared as well.

These were tears of happiness that came from the relief of finding out that she wasn't going to be rejected.

After all, she had come with the thought that she would be rejected.

Even after everything that she had done, this person in front of her had never shown her a single sign. With no signs at all, it was only natural that she would be worried that she would be rejected.

I raised her head and wiped her tears.

After hesitating for a moment, I went forward and kissed her on her lips.

I could feel the way that she tried her best, but her lack of experience came through. It was her first real kiss after all, so it wasn't strange that she didn't know what to do.

In fact, she pushed a bit too hard since she most likely thought that kissing required strength. That actually smushed our lips together in a strange way that wasn't enjoyable at all.

But I couldn't help revealing a smile as I found it funny and cute.

When she was done, she looked at me with an embarrassed look.

Ariel naturally knew the mistake that she had made, which was why she looked embarrassed.

However, I said, "There's no one in this world that gets it right the first time. You don't have to worry about a thing, there's always next time."

Ariel's face was covered in a blush before she gave a slight nod.

Then she just enjoyed herself as we finished off our dance.

There was a moment of silence as we appreciated the moon above us before she went to pick up her clothes as if she was going to cover herself, but I stopped her before she could.

That made her look at me with another confused look.

But this time, there was an evil smile on my face.

"Since you showed me your love in the way of the mermaids, let me show you how humans do it."
