Though I said this, it was clear by the looks on the faces in front of me that they didn't seem to believe me.

I wouldn't believe me either if I was in their shoes, but it wasn't as I would back down just because they stared at me like this. Instead, I just looked at them with a calm look on my face and waited for them to say what they wanted to say.

"I don't mean to offend, but you have to understand that it's hard for me to believe that." The general said in a well meaning tone, but it was clear what he was implying since he wasn't even bothering to hide it.

As such, there were a few people that moved closer.

These weren't people from the Democratic Union, but it seemed that they were close to the Democratic Union with the way that they moved. These were most likely allies of the Democratic Union that were backing this general.

The way that they moved made it seem like they wouldn't let me leave this place unless I went along with what they wanted me to do.

But I wasn't worried as I looked right at them.

Instead, it was the head priest and the leader of the holy knights that moved forward as if they were planning on stopping them from doing anything.

Though before any of them could actually do anything, I just simply asked, "What are you planning to do?"

The general was surprised to hear me ask him directly like this, but he calmly said, "It's just a simple request. All we want to do is to do a body check to make sure that you don't have the Relic of Destruction."

At the end of this, he even revealed a smile as if it was nothing more than a simple matter.

But the moment that this was said, the head priest and the leader of the holy knights deeply knitted their brows.

To request a body check like this, it was almost as if he was treating their Holy Son as if he was some kind of criminal.

That was why it was only natural that they were offended like this.

But they didn't get a chance to say anything again as I raised my hand to stop them.

I looked right back at the general and said, "Alright, I can agree to this."

The general was even more surprised to hear that I actually agreed to this, but his expression soon turned ugly when he heard what I said next.

"But since you're willing to go this far, that means that you have to put something on the line as well."

The general glared at me as if he was unhappy that I was talking to him like this, but he really couldn't say anything when I said it in front of everyone. I was using the same tactic that he was using, I was using peer pressure from all the people that had gathered here to suppress him.

In the end, the general slowly asked, "What do you mean by that?"

It was almost as if he was completely filled with rage and just holding it back by gritting his teeth like this.

There was also a part of his face that started turning red, but that red disappeared quickly. He was a general in the end and it was necessary for a general to have the ability to control himself in any situation.

So it wasn't as if he would lose his cool that quickly.

Only the next words that came out of my mouth did make him lose his cool.

"Since you're demanding this because of national security, that means that this is a matter that concerns your entire nation. If you are wrong, then I assume that your nation will apologize to me for this accusation, right?"

The general's face immediately sunk when he heard this.

After all, once things had escalated to the point where nations were involved, even a general of the Democratic Union wouldn't be able to avoid being involved that easily. Especially since there were representatives from all four empires here, as well as representatives of the other races.

The general really couldn't be held responsible for this if he was wrong…

It seemed like he was really hesitating on this matter until all of a sudden he said, "Alright."

I was a bit surprised to hear this until I saw something in his ear.

It seemed that he had received some sort of instruction through an earpiece which was why he suddenly came to this decision.

But even then, I didn't mind.

I just simply raised my arms and waited for him to do his thing.

The others looked a bit worried when they saw this, but I had a calm look on my face.

That was because I knew that he wouldn't be able to find it in the end.

And that was what happened.

No matter how he tried searching me, there wasn't a single thing found.

"You! Where did you hide it!" The general looked flustered when he didn't find anything, but I just slapped his hand away before saying, "Are you done insulting me?"

The general's face twisted when he heard this before he said, "Search the rest of them!"

The leader of the holy knights and the high priest looked like they were about to resist, but I raised my hand to let them do it.

After all, it wasn't as if they would be able to find anything.

So after they finished with their body search, the general looked like he was about to completely break down.

It was at this time that I said, "Now that you've proven that we don't have anything, I don't think that there's any excuses that you can make. It's time to keep your promise."

The general looked like a bull that was about to charge, but this time I wasn't going to hold them back.

This time, he would naturally have to pay for his mistake.
