Chapter 1320: Meeting the demons (1)

Regardless of what this was, there was one thing that was more important right now.

The reason that I had come to the territory of the demons was because I wanted to find more information on the corruption energy.

With a cough, I said, "Your majesty, I think that instead of wasting time with formalities, we should get down to business. There are more important matters for us to attend to, right?"

The demon queen Elizabeth didn't say anything at first, but she eventually nodded in agreement.

With the way that she said this, there was no misunderstanding what she meant by it.

It was clear that she was telling me that this wasn't something that she wanted to do either. This was something that she was being forced to do by the other demons of the demon territory.

There were many different demon tribes that made up the demon race, so there were many different leaders in the demon race. 

The demon queen was just the overall leader and the one that was the strongest.

But even if she could suppress them to follow her, that didn't mean that they weren't able to influence her.

The main thing was that there were just too many of them and it wasn't good for the demon queen to slaughter too many of her followers.

She could rule with power, but it would just hurt the demons as a whole.

So in this case, it was better for her to go along with this. Especially since it was a small matter like letting them meet me.

As for me, I was an outsider in this place, so it was best if I went along with this and met some of the local leaders. This would help me in the long run if there was anything that I needed from them.

At the same time, whatever I was planning to do here would certainly be easier with the support of these local leaders.

So I had no choice but to say with a nod, "Alright, but let's keep this short."

Demon queen Elizabeth gave a simple nod in response.

Though when we arrived, I was surprised to find that this castle wasn't as luxurious as I thought. This castle was different from the one that I had seen in the game as well.

It seemed much smaller and didn't seem to have any majesty at all.

When we arrived, demon queen Elizabeth could see the way that I was looking at her castle, so she said with a bitter smile, "Our demon race isn't as rich as your human race. I hope that you will not mind this."

When I thought about it, I realized that this was indeed the case.

The game setting was that the demons didn't have good land in the first place, which was why they invaded human territory. They wanted the land and resources that the humans possessed, which was why they attacked them.

At the same time, the large and majestic demon castle that I saw was something that was only seen in the later parts of the game. It was something that was only seen after the war had been going on between the humans and the demons for a long time.

It was after the demons had dominated the humans in the war that they had to rely on the player to fight back against the demons.

With the resources that they stole from the humans, it would only make sense that they would make the castle bigger then.

So this must have been the original appearance of the castle before it was renovated in the game.

I just followed the demon queen Elizabeth into the castle without saying a thing.

When we arrived at the banquet hall, I found that there were many demons that had gathered.

This banquet hall wasn't that big since the castle itself wasn't that big in the first place. But it was completely filled with all kinds of demons.

It was so filled that it almost seemed crowded because of all the demons that were here.

Especially since some of the demons had large bodies that took up much more space than other demons.

The moment that we came in, I immediately became the center of attention.

I had expected the demons to look down on me since that was how demons acted around humans, but that didn't happen in the end. When I came in, it seemed like the demons were even wary of me.

I was a bit confused why they were acting this way until I remembered that demons had far greater mana than humans. That also meant that they were much more sensitive to mana than humans.

After being refined by the Fairy Tear, the mana fluctuations that I released were far stronger than what any normal human released.

It might even be on the same level as a high class magician.

It was no wonder the demons seemed a bit wary of me.
