Chapter 1255: Final battle with demons (15)



After taking down the two Elemental Death Knights, the Death King turned its attention to the other ones.

I couldn't just let the Death King take down these Elemental Death Knights that had been hard to make, especially since they were weak against the dark energy of the Death King.

Sending them to fight the Death King would just be sending them to their deaths.

So I immediately had the Elemental Death Knights retreat.

The Death King's blue flame eyes trembled when it saw this, as if it was surprised to see this. However, that only lasted for a moment before the Death King raised its sword as if it was preparing to attack again.

It didn't seem like the Death King wanted to give the Elemental Death Knights a chance to run away.

At the same time, it was as if the Elemental Death Knights were suddenly moving slower.

It was as if there was some kind of suppression that suddenly fell onto them that was making them move slower.

This was the natural suppression that the Death King had on these Elemental Death Knights.

The Dullahan didn't have this natural suppression, but it was different for this Death King that had reached the SS Rank.

It really was the ruler of life and death.

But before the Death King could swing its sword, there were attacks that rained down from the sky.

The wyverns and undead monsters had been circling around in the sky waiting for an opportunity to do something. When they saw the Elemental Death Knights running, they knew that they had to provide cover fire for them even if their attacks wouldn't do much.

They knew that they had to at least try something to help them.

When the flames and smoke from these explosions settled, the Death King was revealed to be standing there without a single bit of damage.

It was as if the explosions hadn't even touched it...

But that wasn't the end of it.

When the Death King was revealed, it was shown that it had one hand raised and that hand was pointing at the wyverns that were flying in the sky, trying to get away from the Death King. While it was holding its hand up like this, it was as if it had gathered a ball of dark energy in it.

Then all of a sudden, there were more than a dozen undead monsters that suddenly fell out of the sky.

It wasn't that they fell off the wyverns, it was that there was something invisible that had suddenly pulled them off the back of the wyverns.

They just couldn't do anything as they flew through the air, but that wasn't the only thing that happened. As they fell down, it was as if there was something that was being pulled out of their bodies.

It was small lumps that appeared on their skin at first, but then there was this round thing that was being pulled out of them.

When it was pulled out, it was revealed to be the orbs that had been put in them to give them elemental energy. It was just like what had happened with the Elemental Death Knights earlier, but it seemed that the undead monsters had even less resistance than the Elemental Death Knights.

It seemed that even without being touched, they could have these orbs pulled out of them.

Though when looking at the orbs closely, one could see that there were traces of the dark energy that was around them which was the real thing that was pulling them out of the undead monsters.

It seemed that the Death King was so powerful that it could control the dark energy like this even from afar.

Though of course, it wasn't as if there weren't any of this dark energy inside of the orbs in the first place...

After pulling these orbs out, the undead monsters seemed like they had been drained of all their energy just like the Elemental Death Knights and it didn't take long for their bodies to break down.

The Death King didn't pay attention to the orbs that were still falling down towards it as it suddenly gave a roar.

When it gave this roar, the Death Knights started to charge.

There were skeletal horses that seemed to form out of thin air under them at the same time, which was most likely created from the same mana that the Death King made the Death Knights with.

The direction that they charged in was very clear.

They were charging in my direction, even though I was flying in the air on Joan's back.

It seemed strange that the Death Knights would charge at me like this until all of a sudden,

there were skeletal wings that appeared on the back of the skeleton horses.

In an instant, they had gone from normal horses to flying horses even though they were just made of bones.

All of these Death Knights seemed to be focused on taking me down.

The Death King in particular seemed to be looking at me.

Was it because it could tell that I was the one that controlled the earth tendrils or because it could tell that I was the one that controlled the Elemental Death Knights?

Regardless of what it was, it was a fact that the Death Knights were coming at me.

When Klein saw this, he immediately gave the order for the wyverns to come back to support

me.

There was a large battle that suddenly happened in the air between the wyverns and the Death Knights.

This was different from the previous battle where we relied on our mobility to avoid taking any damage at all.

This time, the Death Knights had the same mobility as the wyverns with their flying horses, so it was a real fight.

And it seemed like the Death Knights were quite organized with the way that they charged at the wyverns.

In the end, there were even quite a few wyverns that were forced to land because of the injuries from the Death Knights.
