Chapter 50 - Sing Me a Song for Good Luck

Chapter 50: Sing Me a Song for Good Luck

[Transaction Successful.]

[200x Energy Stones have been received.]

Su Mu was momentarily stunned as he watched the blueprint sell in mere moments.

The first person to trade with him was Qin Yan—a name he had come across multiple times before. She seemed to be a ranked player. But the second buyer wasn’t even on the leaderboard.

This just proved that, among two billion people, there were countless hidden experts lurking in the shadows. Who knew how many other lucky individuals might be out there?

At the same time, a flood of messages filled Su Mu’s trading channel, all asking the same thing.

[Su Mu, what exactly is a Sacred Crystal, and where can we find it?]

“If I knew that, why would I need you guys?”

Su Mu filtered out hundreds of similar inquiries without hesitation. Just as he was about to close the trading panel, he noticed a message from a familiar name—someone claiming to have information on the Sacred Crystal.

[Li Zhen: Big bro, do you remember me? I’m the one who gave you those tree fruits last time.]

[Li Zhen: This time, I not only gathered a bunch of fruit, but I also found out about a boss that might drop Sacred Crystals.]

[Li Zhen: If you need more fruit, just trade me anything you don’t need. I’ll also share the boss information with you.]

Su Mu had no objections. He traded some useless monster loot for twenty-plus Ink Plum Fruits.

[Li Zhen: Thanks for your business, boss!]

[Li Zhen: I’ve sent you the details about the boss. Feel free to check it out.]

A new monster entry appeared in Su Mu’s system.

[Crystalline Beast]

[Level: 30]

[Attributes: Hard as rock, loves to sleep.]

[Description: A slumber-loving creature with extreme defense and high danger levels. However, it won’t attack unless provoked.]

After sending the boss information, Li Zhen followed up with another message.

[Li Zhen: Boss, I was lucky not to wake this thing up when I saw it.]

[Li Zhen: My area is a dense jungle. The environment is great, but the monsters here are insanely high-level.]

[Li Zhen: Honestly, I only dare to pick fruit and trade. I can’t fight a single monster here.]

Along with his message, Li Zhen sent a screenshot of his surroundings.

Compared to Su Mu’s barren wasteland, Li Zhen’s region was a vibrant jungle teeming with life, thick with towering trees and lush greenery.

Still, that kind of environment might be useful.

[Su Mu: Li Zhen, if you find any plant seeds while exploring, bring them to me.]

[Su Mu: I can trade you a defense tower blueprint.]

[Li Zhen: A… defense tower? Boss, you even managed to get something like that?!]

Li Zhen was instantly overjoyed and quickly promised that if he ever found high-quality plant seeds, he would bring them to Su Mu.

Su Mu smirked. “That Boar Hair Defense Tower isn’t strong enough. I should swap it for a better one soon.”

The tower he planned to trade was, of course, the Boar Hair Defense Tower—a blueprint dropped by a mere Level 10 mini-boss, with limited growth potential.

Now that his strength had grown, such low-level defenses were already becoming obsolete. It was better to trade them for something more useful.

As he leaned back in the hot spring, casually enjoying his food, the world announcement echoed once again.

[World Announcement: Congratulations, survivors! You have successfully made it through Day 2. There is now only one day left before shelter protection disappears.]

[World Announcement: On the second day, 1.5 million people perished.]

[World Announcement: To those still alive, keep striving toward the path of the Eternal King.]

Su Mu barely reacted. The number was lower than on the first day, which meant most people were slowly adapting to this apocalyptic world.

But once the shelter protection ended, the two billion survivors would face a massive culling. That was when the real survival game would begin.

He stretched lazily, then suddenly remembered something.

“Oh right, the day is almost over—I still haven’t used my extra sub-stat refresh.”

“I originally planned to save it for some decent gear, but I might as well use it now.”

Relaxing in the warm water, he reached into his system inventory and pulled out the Black Blade Cloak.

If he was going to add a sub-stat, this cloak was the best candidate.

First, he downed a bottle of Scarlet Boar’s Blood to boost his luck stat. But since it was nighttime, Su Mu figured he still hadn’t stacked enough buffs.

So, he opened his chat with Meng Tianyi. Seeing that she was still awake, he poked her in the chat window.

[Meng Tianyi: Boss, what’s up now? Don’t tell me you’re one of those heartless bosses making a cute girl work overtime at night?]

[Su Mu: Nah, nothing serious. I just want you to sing. Didn’t you say you owed me a song?]

[Meng Tianyi: No problem, Boss! Just request anything. As long as it’s a Chinese song, I probably know it!]

Excited, the girl quickly put on her headset and opened the voice chat.

Su Mu calmly sent his request.

[Then sing me “Good Luck Comes.”]

[Meng Tianyi: ???]
