Chapter 11: Chapter 11: Trial of Sky 5- Heretic Silver Alpha Moon Hound
He took a step back while still crouching, it was really ackward to move like that. Good doggy. He reached to his side and grabbed darts between his fingers.
He did not wait for them to attack, he threw the darts hitting three wolves at the same time. Their yelp angered the rest, like an angry mob they jumped at him but he was already gone.
He was running at his top speed, wind flowing around his legs. This ability was a bit special, unlike the mortal grade ones it had more versatility.
He could increase his speed slightly, at least slightly in comparison to the other option, although the increase in speed was not too drastic it gave the user more agility.
While the second option was an instant bust of speed in a straight line, it was so fast it made it almost impossible to turn and right now he was using just that.
His feet left imprint on the ground as he ran, at this speed he was even faster than the wolves. In a second he had already covered over 300 metres.
However this level of speed was dangerous in a jungle, the only reason he even dared to move that fast was because he knew he could move in a straight line without interference for a few hundred metres.
Having roamed this area for hours he had become very familiar with it. After that bust, his speed slowed down and it happened just in time as his instincts screamed.
He kicked a tree with his right leg, propelling himself to the left, a cold beam past where he was, it hit the trees a few hundred metres infront of him freezing the surrounding 50 metres of the impact.
His body shivered from seeing that, not from the cold but fear. I wouldn't be able sleep at all in that cold, just the mere thought of not being able to sleep when he's supposed to terrified him to no end.
He ran even faster, moving far away from the abominable sleep depriver, he had always hated the cold which ironically enough as a homeless orphan, it all he'd known for more than half of his 19 years of life.
The wolves were getting closer and there were so many of them it baffled him. IS SOMEBODY BREEDING YOU? That seemed to anger the leader as a beam came flying at him after he said that.
He turned and threw a few more darts while running, his aim was incredible. He was digging this essence enhancement thing. It improved his body control to super athletic levels.
Or atleast that how he assumed they were like since most if not all probably died during the genesis age which would be good. He doubted he would've like those guys.
Why would any sane person waste their time training just to compete infront of others when they could use that time to sleep or meditate in a warm bed under blankets.
It was just plain stupidity, a wolf landed infront of him bringing him out of his thoughts. He didn't stop nor change his direction but jumped over it.
He could see the confusion in it eyes, you didn't expect that now did you sucker. He didnt know how far he had ran or for how long or even how many wolves he had killed but he was running out of darts.
Mind you he made hundreds of them, one might wonder how he carried all of them? He was strong, that how. He turned back only to see less than 10 wolves on his heels.
Man, I did a number on them. He looked at the leader running behind the other wolves, he expected to see anger but all he saw was a mocking contempt.
He found this strange but when he looked closer he realised why. Tiny, barely perceptible streams of essence energy were entering it body from it surroundings.
No, that was wrong, the essence was not from the atmosphere but from the corpses of it brethren. No wonder this thing didn't care how many he killed.
Because the more of them he killed, the stronger it becomes. He threw two darts at it but it did not even bother to dodge. The darts froze before they could even touch it fur.
He grinded his teeth in frustration, to kill it he would need to get close but his chances of winning were low even if they fought one on one,let alone with it brethren by it side.
He also couldn't kill them since it would just make it stronger. He couldn't come up with a solution so he ran. He increased his speed opening up the distance between them.
He rushed straight towards the water pond, he needed another of those frogs, or even the remains of the last one. He hoped it poison was still present and potent.
After using the mixture of the two venoms, he realised only the snake venom was fatal. The frog poison only enhanced the snake venom but the paralysis was entirely from it.
He wasn't certain but if he was right, then using the frogs poison, he would be able to only paralyse the remaining wolves thus getting them out of the fight without killing them.
He was lucky, he found the frogs remains and it still had it poison. He didn't have much time to work with, a few seconds at most. He broke multiple twigs, used his dagger to sharpen them and poked the frog carcass with them.
Just as he finished they showed up. They jumped at him and he threw the darts at them, hitting them one by one while running around dodging their relentless pursuit.
The big boss did not even bother moving, it just stood there watching the show. One by one the wolves swayed and fell. He could swear he saw a smirk on it face.
I need to end this fast. He pumped essence into his legs, wind screamed at his heels as he ran towards his foe with all his might. When the last wolf fell the big guy moved.
It was fast, faster than all of the other wolves, it could keep up with his top speed. Not only that but it was also much larger, twice as large as the others, standing at 3 metres tall.
It tried to bite him but he was able to move, he drew a gash at it leg with his dagger. His hand felt cold but not freezing.
It turned and fired a beam at him but he was already moving. They exchanged a few more attacks in which he was able to draw multiple gashes on it body, though none were lethal to something of that size.
After those few exchanges it stopped attacking. Confusion apparent in it eyes, it turned to look at it fallen brethren only to realise none of them were dead.
They were all sleeping peacefully. He could swear he saw disappointment in it eyes then resolve. Shit, he cursed under his breath. He was running out of essence but this was not the time to frugal with it.
He shoved most of what remaining to activating his skill. His body blurred forward but it was too late, the moon hound opened it mouth and fired the ice beam at it brethren killing all of them.
An explosion of essence and cold winds spread out with it as the epicenter, he was sent flying backwards like ragdoll. He stood up and adjusted himself then came the abominable voice.
( Warning: A Heretic Silver Alpha Moon Hound has been born. Challenger is advised to quit before it too late) FUCK YOU, you're the one who put me here, I'm not giving up now.
He looked at the creature before him, it had grown to 4 metres tall, it eyes red like blood, an uncontrollable savagery visible through them. Cold winds oozed out of it body like steam. It had even grown an ice blue spiky mane like a lions around it neck, it looked absolutely intimating. Maybe I should just quit.
