Chapter 14: Freedom
"Oh, so you still haven't given up, little chick... no problem. Today's your last day. Say goodbye to your friends, because you're not living to see tomorrow's sunrise..." Anay snarled as he stepped forward and landed a hard punch straight to Izaan's face.
Izaan staggered, but once again stood right in front of him.
Anay laughed."Stubborn, aren't you? I've crushed bigger egos than yours, chick..."He raised his knee for another blow — but Izaan suddenly ducked and grabbed him around the waist, using all his strength to shove him backward.
Anay wasn't expecting that.
He was pushed back — hard — until he slammed into a wall embedded with small nails that dug into his back. He winced in pain as blood trickled down from the cuts.
Only then did he realize what Izaan was doing.
Anay opened his eyes, now bloodshot, and glared at him.
"So... you've got a brain too, huh, chick?" he growled.
Izaan stepped back and stared him down. No matter what, he couldn't lose today. He had to win. He was here to break the chains — he would fight or die trying, but he wouldn't back down.
Anay charged again and landed a punch to Izaan's stomach. He rolled over from the impact but stood up again.
Anay shouted —"Are you a zombie or what?!"With one vicious blow to the jaw, he sent Izaan flying again.
Izaan crashed to the ground. Blood was dripping from his mouth, but he still wiped it and stood up.
"You've taken so many hits and still won't give up... what, got a death wish or something?" Anay roared, marching toward him.
Izaan, staggering, breathing heavily, replied —
"No... this pain isn't enough... not enough to erase the wounds my pride has suffered... the ones I've carried for ten years... I kept bending, kept searching for fault in myself even when others were wrong... Paid too heavy a price for one mistake... Ten years of punishment..."His body couldn't even hold him upright. He was swaying, his vision blurred — but his will refused to surrender.
Anay let out a venomous laugh — and then delivered a sharp kick to Izaan's neck.
Izaan hit the ground again.
Before he could rise, Anay straddled his chest and began raining punches down on his face — one after another, relentless.
Blood poured from Izaan's nose and mouth. He couldn't breathe. His body was completely limp — unable to fight back.
For a moment, Izaan truly believed this was his end.He felt his breath leaving him, eyes fading, and in his mind — only Yug's face flashed.
"Maybe this is it... my punishment for my mistakes..." he thought bitterly.
And just then — a bat slammed onto Anay's head.
He rolled off to the side.
Izaan's eyes fluttered open — blurry — and he saw Aniruddh, panting hard, holding the bat.
"Ani..." Izaan whispered.
Aniruddh ran to him, lifted him up and said with a proud smile —"You did amazing, idiot... as always. You cry, you take a beating, but you never quit. Because of you... all our boys who were about to give up... are back on their feet."
"But what did I even do...?" Izaan asked weakly, wiping the blood from his face.
Aniruddh supported him, saying softly —"You didn't give up hope. That's all that matters."
A few minutes earlier…
The overwhelming numbers of Gang of Hell had exhausted Shadow Venom. Their enemies were older, stronger. The captains still held the line — but the younger recruits, inexperienced and scared, were struggling. Some had even sat down, defeated.
Aniruddh and Ved stood like shields in front of them, protecting the worn-out fighters, taking the heat.
Then — Third Sword, Shadow Venom's hand-to-hand combat unit built for exactly this situation — stepped forward. They surrounded the tired fighters, forming a wall — and took up the fight.
But what lit the fire again… was Izaan.
Seeing him get beaten that badly — yet getting up again and again — something shifted in everyone.
The courage they had lost... returned.
Now, every one of them stood ready to fight — roaring with renewed energy.
Anay Rana had fallen.
And according to the code of the gangs — that meant Shadow Venom had won the battle.
And along with it — their freedom.
A wave of celebration rippled across the tunnel.
Izaan, barely conscious, looked around with half-closed eyes.A faint smile formed on his bloodied lips.
For the first time in years — they could breathe. They were free.Free to live, to choose their own path.
The battle was over.
All that remained was fatigue, silence, and ragged breaths. Both gangs had stepped back.
Samarveer and Trishant walked ahead silently, picked up the unconscious Anay Rana, and hoisted him onto their shoulders.
His head wound was deep — still bleeding — and he was completely out cold. Breathing... but barely.
Shadow Venom's boys were slowly making their way back to their bikes.
They were tired. Wounded. But their faces carried peace — the kind that only comes after winning a battle that meant everything.
Then — from above, Aniruddh shouted:
"Tonight, we celebrate this victory! Everyone — report to base on time!"
And in unison — they all shouted back:
"SHADOW VENOM!"
"FREEDOM!!"
Their voices echoed through the night sky — loud and proud.
Aniruddh looked once at Izaan — and Ved understood immediately.
In no time, he pulled up with the car in front of them.
