Settle at Hogwarts
Chapter 215 Nordic Lunch
"Professor Prewett, we are just members of the inspection team. We will observe it closely in the next week."
Lance said with a smile, but did not make any promises.
Prewett was not surprised by the current situation. In fact, he understood who the real decision-maker was.For the two colleagues, as long as they see the excellence and strength of Durmstrang, they will think that it is enough to become the organizer of the restart of the Triwizard Tournament.
The feeling of riding a ghost ship is not very good. It seems to be surrounded by a layer of thick black mist, which firmly blocks the sight of the people on the ship.
Ten minutes passed quickly. When the black fog gradually dissipated, the surrounding scenery began to become clear.
"This lake already belongs to Durmstrang. We will swim in it in the summer. The bottom of this lake will be connected to the sea, so there are many good aquatic products."
Tabor felt a gust of cold wind blowing. Although the robe on his body was equipped with a constant temperature spell, his exposed hands still inevitably felt the cold.
"It's not even October yet, and I didn't expect it to be cold here."
After Lance sighed, he added a few more magic spells to himself.
"It just rained here before you came, so it will be colder."
After Professor Prewett explained this, he walked to the bow of the ship and pointed to the four-story castle that loomed in the distance: "That's Durmstrang's castle."
Tabor has long known that Durmstrang's castle is not as majestic as Hogwarts, nor is it as gorgeous and magical as Beauxbatons' castle. The moment I actually saw it, I was not disappointed.
"The style here is really unexpected." Professor Lance sighed.
"But the venue is big enough, what do the two professors think?"
Looking at Prewett's sharp eyes, Tabor nodded casually.
People in the castle also discovered this ghost ship. Many students in red robes rode brooms and flew to the lake to hover on both sides of the boat.
"Professor Prewett, Principal Monte is already in the banquet hall."
"Okay, I'll take the two professors there right now."
The boat gradually slowed down and finally landed firmly on the shore.
"Professor Lance, Professor Prince, please."
Tabor and Lance stepped off the boat together. After passing through an open lakeside meadow, we entered this castle made entirely of stones.
There were no oil lamps in the castle, and the light cast from the windows was not very bright, giving the castle an eerie feeling.
Tabor felt that this place was somewhat similar to the environment in the Slytherin cellar.
Professor Lance obviously didn't like this kind of place, and he frowned without any trace.
The three of them walked through a door together and saw a bald old wizard standing by the door.
"Visitors from afar, welcome. I am Hudson, Hudson Mount, the principal of Durmstrang, and a descendant of Durmstrang's second principal."
After a brief introduction and pleasantries, the four of them walked to the innermost pine table and sat down.
"We don't have as many house elves here as Hogwarts does, nor do we have convenient alchemy equipment like Beauxbatons. So we will encourage students to do many things by themselves, such as some simple barbecues."
Principal Monte tapped the table with his wand with a smile: "Do you two want to try our specialties? Or let the house elf make some French or British cuisine?"
Tabor glanced around and saw the students sitting on the small tables. Looking at the grills on their tables and the obviously fresh ingredients, he decided to try the specialties from Durmstrang.
Lance obviously remembered that they were here for inspection, and quickly made the same choice as Tabor.
Principal Monte was obviously very happy, introducing his school’s delicacies to guests from afar.
With a wave of the wand, many plates appeared on the table.and a barbecue grill with iron grill pans placed on it.
“First, the salmon.”
Principal Monte waved his magic wand and placed thickly sliced salmon steaks on the baking sheet.
The vegetables that were washed and cut into pieces also jumped up on their own.
The aroma of fat roasted at high temperature suddenly filled the air.
Tabor suddenly felt his eyes light up, and then looked at the crackling wood in the flames.
"Is this pine wood?"
"Aha, that's right."
Principal Monte was obviously very happy, and said with pride on his face: "Durmstrang covers a large area, and there are many red pine forests on the mountains next to it."
Professor Prewett did not join in the discussion of food.I just took two pieces of brown bread, a shrimp sandwich, a large piece of roasted reindeer meat and a few fried meatballs, and ate it with gammelose cheese.
"This is the freshest fish steak. It only needs to be fried for a while and sprinkled with some sea salt to be delicious."
Monte said, placing the largest piece on the baking sheet in front of Tabor who was looking forward to it.
"It does look good."
Tabor sighed in praise, and then tried to sprinkle some of the other sauces on the table on the fish.
Lance was obviously not used to this kind of food, but seeing how happy everyone around him was, he still put some fish in his mouth.
"We are rich in all kinds of fish and mushrooms. The meat is mainly goat meat and reindeer meat. The drinks include coffee spirits. Maybe Ms. Lance can try the mushroom soup made with chanterelles?"
"OK, thanks."
Lance took a bowl of soup and took a careful sip.
Taber suddenly felt that although the cooking methods here were relatively simple, the ingredients were really good.
"Ah, how could I forget it?"
Monte suddenly patted his forehead and took out a plate from the exchange.
"Caviar, whether used as a condiment or eaten directly, tastes very good. Although it is not unique to us, eating cod roe in this way is probably rare outside Northern Europe."
Tabor scooped up a spoonful of fish roe mixed with yogurt and minced onions, followed Principal Monte's example, and rolled them into the pancake.
The taste of the ocean, coupled with just the right amount of sweet and sour, just relieves the greasiness of fish steaks and grilled venison.
After a lunch that Tabor thought was extremely sumptuous, Professor Prewett left the hall with the two guests.
"The first floor here is the public activity area and some classrooms. The second floor is the library and the remaining classrooms. The third floor is the student dormitory, and the fourth floor is the professor's lounge and office space."
After roughly walking around the castle, Professor Prewett brought the two of them to the fourth floor.
"We don't have many students and professors in Durmstrang, so there are a lot of vacant places in the castle."
Lance said with a smile, but did not make any promises.
