Chapter 13: Farewell of a hero: Andrew Scaar

*** Inside of the GBR Keep ***

"RUNNN!!! DON'T LOOK BACK!!!" Carrying his alliance comrade Buz in his arms, Scaar, who continued to run behind, warned his friends in front of him.

"THEY ARE IN!!!" And the other GBR members, who had just withdrawn by Cave's command, reached out to them.

The group, still close to 1 kilometer from reaching the shrine, was startled by the voice behind them.

"DON'T BE NERVOUS! GET HER TOO!!!" Not demoralized by this unfortunate development, Scaar made a quick decision and turned and started running, handing Buz to another GBR member. "LIGHTY COME WITH ME!"

.

.

.

In fact, his heroic approach was not a surprise, as he was luckier than others thanks to his real-life profession.

He was a member of Air Force Intelligence in the U.S., Special Intelligence Service. He was both a software and rescue operations specialist for his unit.

Every time he went to a new operation, he promised his girlfriend that he would come back alive.

And his lover always warned him not to make any promises about it. Because for her Scaar was a hero and it was more important for her to protect his pride by risking his life to save civilians.

For years, Scaar had become more committed to his profession with the encouragement of his lover, and now it was time for him to protect those in need again.

.

.

.

As Scaar and Lighty continued to run towards the passage, they spotted Vato and his group approaching.

"OH MY GOD, WHERE IS CAVE!" Lighty was suspicious of Cave's absence among the group that had just reached them, and she didn't like the fact that the enemies' full squad had reached the center of the Keep.

"MINI AND CLOAK FAILED IT SEEMS. STALL THEM!!!" Again, Scaar made a quick decision and walked past Vato and his group, anticipating that stronger enemies were in the Gate.

Lighty, along with other GBR members in the surrounding area, took action to attack Vato's group.

.

.

.

*** The Gate ***

"BASTION!!!" Seeing two powerful enemies approaching their castle, Cave activated the related R4 skill to prevent outside intrusions, and a transparent wall rose up into the sky above the castle wall. This skill was a research skill that prevented entering castles from the sky.

Pump and Ahmed had their dragon circle a few times in the sky, then landed them on the ground.

"A nice move!" First, Pump got off his red dragon and started walking.

"Yeah but not enough to stop us!" Then Ahmed had dismounted from his blue dragon. Fafnir, whose wings had been smashed by Cloak's dragon Zmiy just moments ago, was now completely healthy. Because Zmiy, whose owner was out of the war, suddenly disappeared from the battlefield, and Ahmed had healed his dragon Fafnir.

"Cloak and Mini have been eliminated, now it's your turn, Cave!" After Pump's words, they both started to accelerate, clutching their weapons tighter.

"GET BACKKKKKK!!!!" After this very loud shout, a large object flew over the 10-meter-high Keep's wall and came toward their battlefield. Arrived and landed very forcefully between the BRe members and Cave, causing a cloud of dust… This was Scaar.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING, SCAAR!? I TOLD Y…"

"SHUT UP, CAVE! GO AND HELP THE OTHERS!"

"I AM YOUR SUPERIOR, SCAAR!!!"

"YES, YOU ARE, CAVE… THAT IS WHY YOU SHOULD GO…" This time, Scaar's tone was softer.

Cave stared at Scaar for a few seconds and then involuntarily sprinted away toward the passage.

.

.

.

"So what? Do you think that you can handle us, my old friend?" Pump mocked him.

"It hurts me to see you fall more and more every day... It is time to finish... our pain... now, Pump!!!"

"" The temporary armor on Scaar's body began to glow, and when the glow was over, it was now golden. And his yellow sword had likewise changed into a more flamboyant golden sword. "" He stabbed the King's Sword, one of the upper classes of swords that had the advantage in attacks from more ground in this world.

A slight earthquake occurred underground, and the rifts that started from the ground where the sword had stabbed, swept forward until they reached between Pump and Ahmed.

Pump started to run to the left and Ahmed to the right very quickly, making a wide arc to safely reach Scaar's right and left. And then, without slowing down, they swung their red weapons toward his body.

"NOT THAT EASY!" Scaar pulled his huge sword out of the ground again, swirling it menacingly around his powerful body, and began to swing.

Both enemies took five steps back and then attacked him again. Actually, Scaar was a weak opponent for them in this world, but they were cautious as they had never fought against him before. At the same time, Scaar's confident arrival on the battlefield made them suspicious and frightened that he might have found a Cloak-like system bug. What they didn't know was that the only reason for Scaar's self-confidence was his courage.

Scaar quickly moved a few paces away from them and, holding his sword back, began to run toward them with all his might. Aware of the power of his enemies, he took a fatal gamble to defeat them in one go, "AAARRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"

And Pump and Ahmed sprinted toward him as well…

Only a few seconds remained until the end of the battle…

Scaar took one last look at your enemies' bloodshot eyes, red from killing players, 3 seconds into the clash… And he paused for two seconds, stunned for a moment… It was the last two seconds of his life…

.

.

.

Within Pump and Ahmed's red eyes, he noticed darker red images running downstream. It didn't take him a split second to realize what it was, because it was a subject he was an expert on by profession.

These were binary codes. These were the binary codes underlying computer programming and could contain meanings that diva software developers today use for secret codes or communications. And thanks to the training he received in the secret service and his skills, he could understand in a split second what these codes meant.

The codes flowing from Pump's left eye, which was attacking him from the left, and Ahmed's right eye, which was coming from the right, were repeating the same sentence…

.

.

.

""

.

.

.

But that wasn't the part that gave Scaar pause, it was the meaning of the codes flowing in their opposite eyes.

.

.

.

""

.

.

.

That was the sentence that flowed in Pump's right eye…

And the sentence that ran through Ahmed's other eye was this…

.

.

.

""

.

.

.

Noticing these sentences in just a few split seconds, Scaar froze…But his enemies did not…

.

.

.

Continuing his attack as if acting on someone else's command, Pump's weapon, the Dragon Sword stabbed into the upper left of Scaar's rib cage…

.

.

.

And Ahmed stabbed his red Dragon Spear to his right…

"ARRGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" This time it was Pump and Ahmed, not Scaar, who shouted. And their tone was a cry of triumph, not anger or pain.

"HAH HAH!... HA HA HA!!!" They were both laughing now. The power that was the bonus of killing a player started to glow with red lights on their bodies, and they were enjoying the relief of feeling this power. The dark red of his eyes had taken on even more of a red hue. However…

Blood was starting to flow from their eyes. They continued to laugh, but the happiness in their tones seemed to slowly sprinkle with sadness. It was as if they were falling into a nightmare from a dream they were in. Or it was as if they were trying to ask for help to get rid of an act they were forced to do…

But still, everything on that battlefield was over…

Scaar was dead and they were the winners of the battle…

*** United States… 6 months ago with Erghon World time... 1 minute ago with Earth time… ***

"This place is perfect, Andrew!"

"Come on, honey! Do we have to do this?"

"Look, Andrew Scaar! You are already doing one of the most stressful and dangerous jobs in the world. And you're trying to play the war game on your goddamn cell phone in your spare time. This is very harmful to your mental health. You are mine today. We came to this park and we will read these peaceful books together here side by side. I'll kill you if I see you picking up that phone!"

Andrew and his lover sat side by side on the bank and began to read the books in their hands.

.

.

.

"Sorry, can you help me to find this address?" An old woman came to Andrew's lover and held out the paper in her hand, and the girl began to read the address on the paper to help her.

"WHAT IS THIS… OH MY GOD!!!" But the old woman cried out in panic after a few seconds.

When the young girl looked at the woman, she saw that she was staring at her lover next to her with fearful eyes, and immediately turned to Andrew.

And that's when she was shocked…

"What?... What is this?" In astonishment, Andrew was staring at the blood flowing on the phone he had just secretly picked up, and he was feeling his face with his hand, trying to understand why blood was flowing from his eyes.

"MY LOVE! NOOOOO!!!" The young girl screamed and tried to hug her lover, but the girl had a hard time holding him, as his large-sized lover Andrew passed out.

Andrew had lost consciousness…

Just three seconds later, Andrew's eyes opened again… He looked at the sky with his constricted bloody pupils and said his last sentence… "CLONES… OF GOD…"

And finally, blood began to pour heavily from his mouth and nose…

.

.

.

Andrew.. has died…

.

.

.

He was imprisoned, entering the Erghon World for the first time as soon as blood began to flow from his eyes and he passed out.

And in the 3 seconds that passed, until he died, he had lived in the Erghon World for 6 months.

He had struggled to survive for 6 months with his rightful courage and dignity. Just as his lover expects from him. He had spent 6 months protecting civilians and surviving without harming any innocent people.

But his lover didn't know any of this because only 3 seconds had passed by her time.

It was because of this bloody game's cursed time warp…

Her lover, unaware of Scaar's heroism there and unable to say goodbye to him, could not do anything but cry over his lifeless body and ask for help...
