Work Visit – Part 1

The date may have changed, but I haven’t slept yet, so this still counts as today’s update.
I haven’t decided how many parts this will be, but I’ll split it up for now.

It’s been about half a year since then, and our life as a family with Sou has been going smoothly without any major issues. Apparently, Sou's “food” consists of spiritual energy—what people call “ki” or “abilities”—so my parents and Aoi take turns feeding him. …Even I help feed him sometimes.
At first, our grandparents would regularly come to check up on Sou, using Grandma’s insight ability to make sure nothing strange was going on. But things eventually settled down, and they’ve started visiting less frequently.
“Sou~, time for food~!”

“Kyuuun~”
Spending time with Sou, I noticed something curious—whenever I’m the one in control, he becomes unusually submissive. Even though he’s technically just a virtual being, he’s based on a creature with divine roots, so maybe he instinctively senses my position as a relatively high-ranking angel from the Celestial Realm.
“You’re such a good boy, Sou~”

“Kuuu~n”
When Aoi is in control, Sou behaves like a noble guardian watching over a child. But when it’s me, he flops on his back and whines in the most pathetic voice imaginable.
He’s been so blatantly two-faced lately that I’ve stopped petting him when our parents are watching.

“You’re so soft and fluffy, Sou~”
“Heh heh heh…”
Since I’ve been coming to the surface more often to play with Sou, I started noticing some changes. At first, I thought there wasn’t much difference in the body whether it was me or Aoi in control—besides gender—but lately, I realized that when I’m out, the hair grows longer.

It reverts to Aoi’s shorter hair when he returns, so there's no risk of our parents noticing, but… I get the feeling the longer I'm active, the longer the hair will grow. What a hassle.
…I’m guessing other physical differences will start showing too. Performance-wise, I’m way more efficient, though.
“Take this!”

“Kyuu?!”
Annoyed at the thought, I ✪ Nоvеlіgһt ✪ (Official version) shoved my face into Sou’s fluffy belly and took a deep breath.
Ahh~ so warm and soft…
As I basked in fluff heaven, I heard Mom’s footsteps approaching. I quickly switched places with Aoi to avoid being caught, and Sou promptly curled up and dropped his belly-up pose.

“Nn~? Sou! So fluffy~!”
“…Guu.”
Lately, Aoi has been developing a stronger sense of self. When we switch minds, he seems momentarily confused—like he’s starting to notice the difference. It probably won’t be so easy to swap with him freely for much longer.

While Aoi played with Sou, Mom opened the door and stepped into the room.
“Aoi~, today we’re going out with Mommy to visit Daddy at work~”
“Outing~?”

She said that while picking Aoi up.
“That’s right. We’re going to see what Daddy does at work.”
“Okay!”

Apparently, today we get to visit Dad’s workplace. A while ago, his paternity leave ended and he returned to work, leaving Mom to handle childcare again.
Dad still helps out with chores and parenting after work and on weekends, but it’s clear Mom’s carrying the heavier load. Sometimes she looks really worn out.
When that happens, I quietly come out in spirit form to help soothe Aoi, read picture books to him, or even break down dirty diapers with my powers. Sou and I have a bit of a tag-team going for stealth parenting.

“Alright, shall we get ready to go?”
“Yeah!”
After getting changed and packing up, we all left the house together—Sou included. Mom was dressed more neatly than usual, probably because she and Dad used to work at the same place. Visiting her old workplace meant she couldn’t dress too casually.

We arrived at an open plaza about five minutes from the house. Mom checked the time and said:
“Someone from Mommy and Daddy’s work will come pick us up, so when they do, make sure to say hello, okay?”
“Okay!”

But… I didn’t sense anyone nearby who matched that description. Maybe they’re just running late…
“Yuuka-senpai! It’s been so long!”
Just as I thought that, a woman suddenly appeared before us—wearing the same uniform we saw during that virtual being incident.

“Ayaka-chan, it’s been a while. Thanks for coming today.”
“Yes! I can only help with transport using my teleportation, but I’ll do my best today!”
The woman Mom called Ayaka-chan had a bright and cheerful presence—she seemed to be a user of teleportation abilities.

Sou: “Gruu?! (What the heck is this person?! She’s not someone who should exist in the human world!)”
Seraph: “Time for food~ Here, have some of my energy~”
Sou: “Kyuun… (Well… at least the food’s good, so I’ll just go along with it…)”
