Life & Story Updates (NOT a hiatus announcement)
Hello! Normally, I'd make this type of announcement post under a chapter under the authors' notes, but I think this announcement is important enough to go up on its own.
So, a few things important things happened to me recently:
1. I graduated from university (Hooray!)
2. I got a job
I'll be starting this new job in the next few days, and as such, I probably won't have as much time to write as I used to. But, if that was it, I would have uploaded a chapter as usual today and posted an update that I'd be taking a short break while I adjust to the new job, and that would be that.
So, to be 100% honest, I'm a bit burnt out writing this story. Book one of this story should be ending in the next few chapters, but I'm finding it hard to write those chapters to a satisfactory level that won't just feel like I'm rushing an ending to get the story over with.
There are a couple of reasons why I'm burnt out, but the main one is that I really wished that I made different choices when it came to the story. I feel that if I had the hindsight I had now when I first wrote Sera, that I'd have come up with a story that would have resonated more with readers.
That being said, I am NOT putting Sera on hiatus. I'm a reader too, and I am intimately familiar with the fact that when an author puts something on hiatus, it often times also means they're just dropping the story entirely. I've admittedly done it myself, because if you check my profile, you'll see that I do have one story that's on hiatus and hasn't been updated for almost a year.
So, here's the plan moving forward:
1. I'll be taking a break from uploading chapters this week.
2. I will try to upload the final chapters of Book 1 for Sera - A Dungeon Revival LitRPG on the same day, on 9th September 2024 (May vary slightly depending on your timezone).
3. After that, I'll be transitioning to a new upload schedule for this story which will most likely be either once or twice a week.
I still really enjoy writing, but life circumstances + burnout means that I have to take some time off to adjust. That being said, thank you so much if you've read this far, and I do hope you continue to support me in the future.
Once I get back in the groove of writing again, I also hope to launch a new story in the near future, and I'd be grateful if you could support me there as well. In the meantime, I hope you have a good day, and I'll see you next week, cheers.
