Secret Magical Lovers: Yandere Isekai Novel

Chapter 11: Episode 2: Exsecrati Mortui (Part 5)

"Huh? Snapped?" Mari frowned. "What does him snapping have to do with you?"

Tsumi tilted her head slightly, her expression unreadable. "Well… how do I put this?" She exhaled before continuing. "We magical girls can read the emotions of ordinary humans if we peek into their souls. It's a natural ability we have. But when I tried to do that with him…" She paused, her dark eyes narrowing slightly.

"I couldn't."

Mari's eyes widened in shock. "You couldn't read his emotions?"

Tsumi nodded. "Yes. And that should be impossible." Her voice was calm, but there was a strange intensity behind it. "I couldn't understand why. Nor do I know how. It was as if… his body and soul weren't aligned at all."

Mari studied her carefully before speaking. "And you didn't tell anyone else about this strange little mystery of yours?"

"I didn't," Tsumi replied without hesitation. Then, her gaze darkened. "Nor am I willing to let anyone find out."

There was something in her tone—something cold, almost threatening. A warning.

Mari raised an eyebrow, intrigued rather than intimidated. "Why?"

Tsumi's lips curled into a slow, eerie smile. "Isn't it obvious?" she said, her voice shifting into something almost gleeful. "I finally found something that has sparked something inside my emotionless self."

Her dark eyes gleamed with a dangerous light as her smile widened into something deranged.

"I'm going to solve this mystery all by myself," she declared, her voice dripping with unsettling excitement. "I'll lock him in my basement—chained, beaten, cut open if necessary. And if he doesn't agree to come with me willingly… then I'll just use force."

For a brief moment, Mari simply stared at her.

Then, unexpectedly, a slow smirk formed on Mari's lips.

"Wow…" she murmured, before letting out a soft chuckle.

Then, raising her hand in a handshake gesture, she said, "You know what? I won't tell anyone about this." Her dark eyes gleamed with intrigue. "Instead, you will tell me what you find once you solve this mystery… because now I'm interested too."

She extended her hand further. "So? What do you say?"

Tsumi thought about it for a moment before deciding to agree. She reached out, shaking Mari's hand firmly.

"We have a deal."

Mari smirked, her dark eyes gleaming with amusement. "Good," she said, pulling her hand back. "I look forward to hearing what you uncover."

Tsumi let out a soft, almost breathless chuckle. "Oh, you will," she murmured. "And trust me… it will be fascinating."

With that, she turned away, already lost in thought—the mystery of Ezakiel consuming her mind. Finally—finally—something had made her feel again.

I can't wait to imagine all the horrible things I can do to you.

She might even go as far as to say she had fallen in love with him.

But not as a lover.

No, the kind of love she felt was the same as what she had for her pet hamster—no more, no less.

Oh, the poor thing.

It was sad that she had killed her pet hamster… but it was his fault.

He forced her to do it.

If only he hadn't been so greedy—so desperate to seek attention from someone else. Didn't he know? Didn't he understand?

He was hers and hers alone…

....

Ezakiel was back in his house, lying on his bed in his human form. His body ached, and his mind felt drained. Both physically and mentally, he was completely exhausted.

Fixing the roads and repairing everything had taken a toll on him—even with his newly gained reality-warping powers.

Yes, he could shape the world in his image, but only within a 100-meter radius. It wasn't much, but it was enough to give him an advantage in battle, at least when fighting monsters near or equal to his power level.

The same couldn't be said against magical girls. Weak or newly turned ones—he could manage. But against experienced or high-ranking magical girls? That was a different story.

"It's a good thing that a cursed existence like me can still turn back into human form," Ezakiel muttered, huffing as he caught his breath. His human form completely masked his monster essence, making it impossible for magical girls to sense him—unless he used his powers.

But that didn't mean he was safe.

If he was unlucky, monsters could still attack him, thinking he was just another human—like what happened today.

And then, there was the real threat.

Once the main character of this world appeared, they would definitely be able to sense him. And if they told the magical girls about his existence… there was a 99.9% chance he would be destroyed.

So, his only option was to get stronger.

That meant either fighting monsters… or killing magical girls.

And he was going to choose the former.

"I need to have someone on my side. It's much better than doing everything alone… much better," Ezakiel muttered to himself. "But who?"

He needed someone emotionally weak. Someone mentally unstable. A social outcast—desperate for a hand to hold… or rather, a helping hand.

Most likely a girl.

After all, young girls were easy to manipulate. Their minds were fragile, susceptible, and oh-so vulnerable.

Digging through his memories, he searched for the perfect candidate. And then, one name surfaced in his mind.

A slow, knowing smirk crossed his lips.

"Yes… she will do."

Rin Hoshinova.

She was going to be his disposable pawn. A puppet, nothing more. He would manipulate her, twist her, mold her into his toy—under his control. A parasocial relationship… but completely one-sided.

Using little girls wasn't really his style.

But if it meant his survival?

Then he would do it without hesitation.

And the best part?

She wasn't a yandere.

No obsessive tendencies. No dangerous, possessive instincts. No unpredictability that could turn against him.

Just a lonely, broken girl—one who would cling to the first person who showed her kindness.

Perfect.

Now that everything was taken care of, there was just one tiny little problem.

His reality-warping powers couldn't resurrect the dead.

Since he couldn't resurrect the driver, the last thing he needed was the police getting involved just because of a minor inconvenience like a dead body.

The only option left was to let his parents handle it—which he did.

He had fed them a simple excuse: that he had gotten into a fight with the driver, and the man later took his own life, throwing himself off a cliff.

His parents, unsurprisingly, didn't ask many questions. They simply assured him that the problem would be dealt with.

Either the driver's family would be given enough money to keep their mouths shut… or they would be silenced permanently.

And honestly? He hoped it was the latter.

He didn't want any of the driver's family members to slip up and accidentally expose anything. And given how unpredictable people could be, the chance of that happening was far too high for his liking.

He made up his mind: if the driver's family didn't die by his parents' hands, then he would just kill them himself.
