Scarlet Tears- Primal

Chapter 53: Scarlet Chains Beneath a Crimson Sky

The sky bled red. A bleeding moon hung overhead, painting the clouds in streaks of blood as if the heavens themselves mourned what was about to unfold.

A tremor ran through the earth as Ingress stepped forward.

His body was reborn.

His once-dark skin now pale and ghostly white, lined with crimson markings that pulsed with infernal power. His eyes blazed orange-red, molten like volcanic glass. His white hair whipped in the wind like a banner of judgment. Fangs gleamed beneath a crooked grin.

And yet—no other vampire stood beside him. Only Ingress.

The civilians, huddled on rooftops and behind cracked barriers, trembled at the sight.

Tyrone, eyes sharp with resolve, shouted to the bystanders."Evacuate now! If you want to live, go!"

Raijin's voice joined his. "This is your last warning!"

Kamaki's blades drew. "Move! You're in the way!"

Many obeyed.

But not all.

Too many stayed, clutching phones, recording, whispering Ingress's name like a chant.

Lihanna looked around in disbelief. "Why are they… still here?"

Neve's voice was colder than her ice. "Because they know. They know Ingress has the advantage when civilians are near. Kazimir's too careful—he won't go all-out with them around."

Jessie scowled. "Exactly. But if these are the people I'm risking my life for… then I'd vanish when they need me most. Let them fend for themselves."

Riah, arms folded, eyes glowing like embers."I agree. Humans are heartless. They sided with Ingress, and they know Kazimir won't hurt them. They're not watching heroes—they're watching a weapon they want destroyed. Vanessa was right. These people are disgusting. If I have to burn this planet to protect Kazimir… I will."

The atmosphere cracked.

Kazimir and Ingress locked eyes.

A flicker—and both vanished.

The sky exploded.

Blue lightning and red shadows collided across the heavens, flashing like gods at war. Blades clashed faster than mortal eyes could follow. Each strike from Ingress came with a twisted smile. Kazimir, calm as the eye of a storm, parried with perfect control.

A sudden surge—Ingress's blade shimmered with blackened red energy. He roared and swung down.

CRACK!

Kazimir's katana shattered.

A brutal kick to the head sent him plummeting from the sky like a fallen star.

Tyrone flashed forward, catching him mid-fall."Kazimir—! Are you alright?"

Kazimir's voice was strained. "I'm… not trying to kill anyone."

Tyrone held him up. "Yeah, we know. But let us fight with you. You don't have to do this alone."

Kazimir's eyes hardened."No. If this ends with a stain… it ends on me. Let me carry it."

Tyrone clenched his jaw. "Then at least use a sword."

Kazimir smiled faintly. "I'll recreate it."

The wind stilled.

Ingress landed. His smile stretched unnaturally wide.

Kazimir stepped forward, lightning wrapping around him like a second skin.He inhaled deeply.

The broken katana rematerialized in his hand—crackling, reborn from pure will.

Flash.

He vanished.

Then—boom—reappeared behind Ingress.

A thunderous kick slammed Ingress into a bank, rubble raining from the sky.

Ingress howled and retaliated, sending waves of red-black threads toward Kazimir. Buildings split in their wake. Kazimir deflected them all, cutting through the chaos with lightning-fast precision.

But one stray thread snaked wide—hidden.

Kazimir saw it too late.

He leapt, slashing it mid-air. The thread crumbled to ash.

Ingress growled, fury rising.

He summoned clones, dozens of them, and launched volleys of razor-sharp shadow blades. Kazimir danced between them, parrying, dodging, cutting down clones with elegant precision.

Riah watched from below, her hands trembling.

"He's… pulling himself together."

Gendai, heart racing. "Come on, Kaz. End him."

The world held its breath.

Cameras captured the battle. Across cities, millions watched. Two Vandors—demigods—clashing in the skies of Earth.

Ingress bared his teeth.

He raised his hand—

BOOM.

A building crumbled beneath a massive shockwave.

But Kazimir stood before him. Silent. Calm.

His katana rested on his shoulder.

Then he swung.

"You're done."

The blade descended, lightning bursting from it in a single divine strike.

Ingress screamed—but not in pain. In amusement.

He reached through the flash and grabbed Kazimir's arm.

Kazimir tore away—then noticed something.

A gash along his arm. He hadn't felt it.

Ingress laughed.

"Oh, did I not mention… I brought friends."

Two shadows emerged from the broken earth.

The air stopped moving.

Tojo.Xavier.

Their bodies moved, but their eyes… empty. Expressionless.

Kazimir's world tilted.

He took a step back.

His body—flickering.

His mind—blank.

"No…"

Tojo and Xavier charged.

Tojo's dual blades. Xavier's death-scythe.

Kazimir deflected one, ducked under the next, but his movements were faltering.

Ingress joined the attack, striking with gleeful savagery.

A strike from Tojo. A black bolt of lightning from Xavier—

CRACK!

It hit Kazimir dead in the back.

But he didn't fall.

Instead, he called lightning from the sky—down onto himself—creating a blinding explosion that launched his attackers away.

Neve, horrified."They're… using Tojo and Xavier as weapons."

Jessie snarled. "Unforgivable. Monsters."

Riah, eyes shimmering with restrained rage. "I'll kill him. I swear I'll burn him to ashes."

Gendai, silent. Her hands clenched into fists, heartbroken.

Raijin, voice low. "Ingress deserves nothing short of death."

Suddenly—CLANK.

Chains erupted from the ground, binding Kazimir.

He gasped.

"Wha—?!"

His body flickered again. The wound… was corrupting him.

The city had been programmed to react to his energy signature. The chains locked onto him like a command from the system itself.

Ingress walked forward, triumphant.

Kazimir struggled. He couldn't move. His breath was ragged.

The cheers began.

Civilians—cheering.

They had him.

They caught him.

Their monster.

Their hero.

Their pawn.

Riah snapped.

"Enough."

Her voice broke like thunder.

"I'm done watching this."

White flames erupted around her.

She flew forward, blazing.

The others followed—Tyrone, Jessie, Neve, Lihanna, Raijin, Gendai—all of them.

Kazimir would not fall alone.

Not tonight.
