The whole story gradually emerges.

It seems that the O'Donnells were running a marijuana plantation up in the mountains. The Guards raided it late last night, arresting everyone who worked there. Among the workers were a number of Vietnamese people, none of whom appear to speak English or own a passport. The Guards are saying that they were trafficked and forced to work on the plantation against their will. Terry O'Donnell, Cormac's father, has been arrested as the owner of the land, although speculation in the village is that it was his mother, Orla O'Donnell, who was behind the operation.
