At Z-City's largest gym, the Back-Brawler Gang lay scattered on the floor. Back-Brawler Black Hole and Tiger were particularly battered, suffering multiple fractures and bleeding profusely.

"Who… who are you?! Why…"

Back-Brawler Black Hole struggled to ask the silver-haired boy with a broom-like hairstyle.

"Want my name so you can get revenge? Heh."

The silver-haired boy crouched beside Black Hole, a mischievous smile on his face.

"No, I…"

Black Hole, his intentions revealed, stammered in denial.

"It's fine even if you do. Remember, I'm Garou! Come find me anytime for revenge!"

Garou, hands in his pockets, turned and left. He'd come down from the mountains hoping to see skilled fighters, but he was disappointed. They were weak. He had to get back before his father found out.

In the deep mountains on the outskirts of Z-City, a towering, technologically advanced metal building stood out from the surrounding forest. This was Dr. Genus's headquarters, the House of Evolution.

"What's going on?! Why haven't the Slug and Frog monsters returned? They should be back by now."

"Maybe something happened? A delay?"

"What could happen? Were they discovered?!"

"Impossible. They're weak fighters, but their hiding skills are excellent. They couldn't be easily discovered."

"Then what happened?"

"I don't know."

Dr. Genus's clones filled the hall, debating the whereabouts of the Frog and Slug monsters.

"Fine, send more people! A-class potential human genes are rare. We must obtain them!"

Dr. Genus himself emerged and made the decision.

Soon, Mantis and Hawk-Beak set off for Z-City to capture Kaito Ren.

Kaito Ren and Saitama were enjoying Oden.

After eating, Kaito Ren and Saitama left the shop, strolling and digesting.

"Gentlemen, are you interested in becoming heroes? This is the newly established Hero Association. Heroes receive a generous salary, but you must follow the Association's orders and eliminate monsters."

Kaito Ren looked at the tall, attractive woman in a bunny girl outfit, black stockings, and high heels. He wondered if he was dreaming. The Hero Association used attractive women to recruit members?!

Joining would mean following orders. The thought was unappealing. As for the salary… he could easily obtain Dragon-level monster materials, synthesize purple or gold-grade weapons, and wouldn't need money.

"Heh, weaklings pretending to be strong! Go home!"

A man sneered at Kaito Ren. The onlookers laughed and stopped to watch.

"Yeah, scram! Hide at home! Leave monster-slaying to real heroes!"

"That's right! We're the strong heroes!"

"Hee hee, Bunny girl, drinks later? I'm strong, you know!"

Several muscular men approached, mocking Kaito Ren.

"You!"

Saitama couldn't stand them insulting his teacher.

"Forget it."

Kaito Ren shook his head. There was no reward for defeating them; it was a waste of time.

"Listen to your teacher! Scram!"

"This isn't for weaklings!"

"Don't wet your pants when you see monsters!"

The men intensified their taunts. The bunny girl frowned. Were these people really suitable to be heroes?

"Let's go home and sleep."

Kaito Ren yawned, ignoring their insults.

"Yes."

Saitama, though reluctant, followed.

"Found them!"

A gust of wind swept through the crowd as Mantis and Hawk-Beak appeared.

"Monsters!!"

"Run!!"

"No, we have heroes!"

"Heroes! They can defeat the monsters!"

The panicked crowd stopped, looking at the potential heroes.
