Chapter 6: Princess of Gloomoria
- "Elisa, former princess of Gloomoria, unleashes chaos in Muclon. An unexpected encounter, destruction and secrets to discover. Don't miss it!" -
Muclon was a desolate planet, covered in an endless layer of orange dust. Ruins of rusty tin and scrap metal were piled in disarray, creating a city in ruins, without law or order. The air was permeated with scorching heat, and the creatures that inhabited this place slipped slowly through the shadows, as if the very environment had shaped them to survive in the chaos.
In the midst of all this, a woman walked calmly. Her all-black combat attire contrasted with the desolate landscape, and in one hand she held a coffee, while in the other she wielded her purple sword. There was no hurry in her movements. She seemed so out of place on this planet that the chaos around her simply didn't affect her.
Suddenly, a scream echoed through the ruins.
— Run away! It's the princess of Gloomoria!
Instantly, the slugs of the Limosus Clan, who were hiding in the sand, were startled. The shadows began to move frantically, but they had nowhere to go. She, without her calm being disturbed, looked around with a calm smile on her face.
"Really?" she said, with a sneer. "You're hiding just because you heard who I am? How… adorable."
With a smooth movement, Ella pulled two laser pistols from her belt, aiming them at the escaping slugs. But before she could fire, something unexpected happened. A group of slugs, in their desperation to flee, began firing lasers from their mouths, but in their panic, their shots went unchecked. The result was absolute chaos. The slugs fired at each other, lasers streaking through the air at high speed, taking out several of their own comrades. Screams of pain and confusion filled the air.
The woman watched the scene unfazed. Her coffee was still in her hand, and she made no effort to move or protect herself from the gunfire flying around her.
— Really? — he said, laughing, as if he were watching a poorly directed play. — You're so useless that you can't even shoot without killing each other!
One of the remaining slugs, clearly confused, screamed at Ella.
— Princess Elisa! You will pay for your crimes, do not advance, we know too much about you!
Elisa slowly looked up, still holding her coffee. With unwavering calm, she answered in a low but firm voice.
"I'm not a princess anymore," she said, her eyes fixed on the slug with a mixture of boredom and disdain. "I'm much more than that."
The slug, not understanding, continued screaming, but Elisa, without looking away or leaving her coffee, pointed her finger and shot at the creature, with energy that cannot be seen. A couple of accurate shots were enough to eliminate it.
Elisa dropped the empty cup to the ground and crushed it with one foot. Unhurriedly, she took a step towards the center of the village, where the last members of the Slug Clan were gathering the money they had stolen from the citizens. Dust rose around her as she walked without a care, as if none of this was more than a minor interruption in her day.
— Ridiculous — he muttered, looking at the few survivors, who didn't dare to move. — They thought they could rob people and keep the loot, but look how it all ended.
With her purple sword at the ready, Elisa looked out at the last of the clan. No one dared to move as she moved forward, like a shadow among the ruins. She was no longer the princess. There was nothing left of that Elisa. There was only a force of nature, ready to make those who dared to defy her pay.
Elisa dropped her sword, which fell to the ground with a clang, dust rising around her. The tension in the air was palpable, the slugs of the unknown Clan, with their slimy, slippery appearance, stared in confusion. No one dared to move.
One of the slugs, its body bubbling and filled with thick liquid, inched towards Elisa, its gaze full of distrust. Its small eyes blinked nervously, watching as the woman simply stood still, sword gone, with a disconcerting calm.
— Are you going to give up or... just go home, princess? — one of them said, laughing nervously.
Elisa slowly raised her gaze, her purple eyes flashing with a violent glint, as if her power was about to overflow. The atmosphere around her immediately tensed.
"Surrender?" Elisa replied, her voice barely above a whisper, but laden with palpable menace. Her words cut through the air with precision. "Surrender to whom?"
The slugs began to drool, their fear evident. The first drops of sweat began to fall from their slimy bodies as Elisa, with a small smile and a chilling gaze, clenched her hand. She pointed at the nearest slug, and the silence was absolute. No one dared to move.
But at the last second, Elisa didn't fire. Instead, her fist moved back and the energy surrounding her arm seemed to build up. The slugs didn't understand what was happening. They only saw her still figure, almost as if she were nothing more than a shadow.
Elisa hit the ground hard.
The shockwave she created caused the ground to shake and the slugs to float high into the air, completely bewildered. Elisa's sword, still on the ground, began to levitate, floating upwards as if gravity had ceased to exist. And, before they could react, a beam of energy shot out from her finger, streaking through the air at high speed, heading straight for the sword.
A blinding glow lit up the sky, and the sword rumbled loudly, absorbing the concentrated energy. The sword shone brightly, and suddenly, with a brutal spin, it began to cut through the air around it.
The slugs tried to dodge in the air, but it was useless. The sword thundered as it hovered and cut them into a thousand pieces. The remains of the disintegrated creatures rained down on the town, scattering through the streets like a storm of viscera and slimy debris.
When the sword returned to its place on Elisa's back, she fixed it with a tired look, as if it had been a boring task.
"How boring," he muttered, looking at the small amounts of stolen money the slugs had gathered before his appearance. "Stealing from people who don't even have enough to survive? You have to be really needy to do that."
Without another word, Elisa turned on her heel and began walking again, leaving the destruction behind, without any hurry.
Elisa looked around, taking in the mess she had just caused. The remains of the disintegrated slugs rained down on the town, the air was thick with dust raised by the energy explosion, and the once run-down town looked even more chaotic now.
With a comical expression of surprise on her face, Elisa let out a sigh and put a hand to her head, as if she was a little sorry for the extent of the destruction. In the end, she always ended up making a mess wherever she went.
— Well, I didn't think this would happen... — she muttered to herself.
Then, with a mischievous smile, he shouted loudly towards the sky.
—Mongolito, are you there?
From somewhere nearby, a recognizable voice answered calmly, as if it had been waiting for the call.
— Yes, Elisa! Are you done yet?
— Yes, but... can you bring your ship and vacuum up all this mess? I don't want to leave the citizens of Muclon with remains of filth all over the city. — Elisa raised an eyebrow, amused, as she watched the last pieces of slug fall from the sky.
A moment later, Mongolito's voice was heard again, this time a little happier.
—Of course! — he said, sarcastically. — Go and get the money they stole and share it with the local authority, while I clean up this whole mess. You and your desire to destroy everything!
Elisa let out a soft laugh and looked at the loot the slugs had been collecting. She didn't care much about money, but somehow, things had to balance out, albeit a bit chaotically.
— Okay, Mongolito, but don't take too long, okay? I don't want the citizens to think I'm a criminal like them.
— I'll do it, I'm working on it! — replied Mongolito, somewhat exasperated. — Stop making a mess for once.
Elisa turned on her heels, leaving the scene of destruction behind, and began walking towards the area where the few surviving citizens were. Meanwhile, a ship appeared in the sky, slowly descending to clean up the mess she herself had caused. It was all part of a normal day for Elisa Sorano.
Mongolito peered through one of the openings in his ship, his figure barely visible behind the glass of his helmet. He didn't look human, his body was taller and thinner than any normal person's, wearing a shiny spacesuit that reflected the dim light of the planet. Inside his helmet, projected onto the surface, was his face: a humanoid face with a surprised expression, large eyes and a slightly open mouth, much like a neon green hologram. It was the face he projected through his equipment, although Elisa was no longer surprised by it.
— Here I come! — said Mongolito in a distorted tone, activating a device beneath the ship. In the blink of an eye, it began to suck up all the destruction: remains of disintegrated slugs, debris and dust rose and were absorbed as if they had never existed.
Elisa watched the disaster disappear before her eyes. Then, grateful, she spoke.
— Thank you, Mongolito — he said, smiling calmly. — Where will you go now?
Mongolito adjusted the ship's controls, ready to depart.
— I'm coming soon! — he replied with a hint of amusement. — I met a rather interesting race on this planet and I want to spend some time with them. I'll be just outside the village, if you need anything, you know where to find me.
— What a surprise! — Elisa laughed softly, watching as the ship began to rise and head towards the outskirts. — Well, enjoy your exploration.
Elisa stood in the center of the village, looking out at the houses of the townspeople. She approached the first door and knocked, hoping to hand over the stolen money, but there was no answer. She knocked again and nothing.
He stood there for a few seconds, looking at the houses and wondering why they weren't answering.
Just as he was about to move to another door, a village guard quickly approached him.
—Miss... What are you doing? — he asked, clearly concerned about his actions.
Elisa looked at him curiously.
— I'm knocking on doors to hand over what those scumbags stole — he replied calmly. — But no one answers... Aren't you going to get your belongings?
The guard looked at the houses, then at Elisa.
— Citizens... — he began, in a nervous tone — when they are robbed, they lock themselves in their houses and put earplugs in their ears. If they get too nervous... they could die. They are very weak physically.
Elisa blinked in surprise. She was silent for a few seconds, processing what she had just heard. Then, with a mischievous smile, she let out an innocent laugh.
— Really?! That's pretty strange! — she said, a little surprised. — Then, it's best if you call them, so I don't kill them by accident, right?
The guard looked at her in confusion for a moment before answering.
— Huh? Don't you know they can't hear a single loud sound without going into shock?
Elisa smiled relaxedly, as if it were an unimportant detail.
— It's okay, I know how to handle it. Call them, I'm starving!
As Elisa waited, her hand still resting on the door, her stomach growled loudly. Her face turned bright red with embarrassment and, with a comical gesture, she hugged herself, looking around to see if anyone had heard.
— Really? — he muttered, with an embarrassed smile. — Just now...
As he settled in, he felt a small gust of wind, a sign that the townspeople were approaching. In the blink of an eye, a group of them appeared from the houses, cautiously making their way out.
The inhabitants of the planet Mucaris were small and adorable looking. Their skin was a soft, clay-like color, and they had large, expressive eyes that shone with a mixture of wonder and gratitude. Their bodies were rounded, with short, chubby limbs, and they wore simple but colorful clothing, adorned with small details such as ribbons and shiny ornaments. Some had pointed ears, and others had tiny horns. They were harmless-looking creatures, and their way of moving was clumsy, almost as if they were dancing unintentionally.
Elisa handed over the belongings with a smile. As the things changed hands, the citizens began to clap and cheer. One of the small creatures, who seemed to be some sort of leader, stepped forward, holding a small flower in its hands.
—Thank you, mystery girl, you're the best! — he said in a sweet, squeaky voice, his eyes shining with gratitude.
Elisa stood there, surprised by the applause, but seeing the genuineness of their gratitude, she couldn't help but blush. She looked away towards the ground, feeling somewhat uncomfortable, and laughed lightly.
— You're welcome... — she murmured, crossing her arms in front of her chest, still hugging herself a little. — Although... you know, it's not that big of a deal.
The citizens continued to celebrate, jumping and dancing with happiness, while Elisa remained in her place, watching with a slight smile on her face. Despite her somewhat distant character, a part of her felt satisfied for having helped them.
The Mucaris group began to sing a cheerful song, accompanied by laughter and joy, as if they had finally been freed from a great burden. Elisa couldn't help but feel a little proud of having contributed to their happiness, even if she didn't fully show it.
As the townspeople continued to celebrate and give thanks, one of the small creatures came forward with a tray filled with what looked like a local meal. The ingredients were strange to Elisa's eyes: a rolled dough, with a light green color that looked like it had been boiled. Inside, she could see something moving, as if it were a mixture of vegetables and something else that she couldn't identify. The strangest thing was the aroma, somewhat strong and sweet at the same time, something completely out of the ordinary for her.
— Here, here! — said the leader of the citizens, smiling widely as he offered the strange delicacy. — It's the least we can do to thank you, it's our special dish! We call you "Gurrito"!
Elisa looked at the "gurrito" with curiosity, then at the small, bright eyes that watched her with hope. At that moment, her stomach growled again, this time much louder than before, echoing throughout the town.
Elisa stood completely stiff, her face red as a tomato. She hugged herself, looking at the ground as she tried to hide her embarrassment.
— Sorry! — she said quickly, somewhat embarrassed. — I guess... yeah, my stomach needs it.
The Mucaris group began to laugh happily, without malice, noticing Elisa's reaction. At first, she didn't know whether to laugh or feel even more uncomfortable. But, seeing their smiling faces, she decided to thank them in her own way.
— Thank you for this... — she said, still blushing, taking the "gurrito" from the tray, although she was a little hesitant about whether she could eat it. — Although I can't promise that it's my favorite dish... but... yes, I'll take it.
One of the citizens raised his hands enthusiastically.
— It's all we have! It's an honor that you accept it! — he exclaimed, smiling with emotion.
Here is the scene with that comic touch that you asked for, in which Elisa tries the "gurrito" and reacts in a funny way:
Elisa looked at the "gurrito" with some doubt, but knowing that she couldn't refuse the citizens' offer, she took it with one hand and took a bite. Instantly, her face transformed. The taste was much stronger than she had imagined, a strange mix of textures and flavors completely unknown to her. The ingredients tasted bitter and strange, making her eyes fill with tears as she tried to swallow.
— Ugh! No... no... this... no! — he thought as the taste invaded his mouth, his eyes beginning to water. It was so strange that he didn't know if it was edible or if he was about to die from the taste. But, remembering the hopeful face of the Mucaris, he forced a smile, rubbing his eyes as he tried to hide it.
The townspeople looked at her with expectant eyes, waiting to know what she thought of the food.
Elisa, her eyes shining with tears, gave a thumbs up with as much conviction as she could muster.
— Ten out of ten! — she exclaimed, her voice a little shaky but forcing a positive attitude. — Excellent! Very tasty!
The Mucaris burst into applause and laughter, happy at her response, not noticing the small lie behind Elisa's words. The girl, though still a touch uncomfortable, tried to keep her composure as she swallowed another bite, wanting not to grimace any harder.
A couple of hours had passed since Elisa left the warm shelter of the Mucaris. Now she was walking towards the outskirts of the town, where Mongolito's ship was waiting on the horizon. The figure of the ship stood out on the rocky plain, surrounded by the silence of the planet, as the sun began to set.
Mongolito appeared in one of the openings of his ship, barely visible through the glass of his helmet. His silhouette was slim and tall, with the characteristic spacesuit that shone in the dim light. Through the projection on the helmet, Elisa could see his face, a familiar image, with his large eyes and his strikingly holographic expression in neon green, as always.
—Here I come! —Mongolito said, his voice distorted as always, as he activated a device beneath the ship.
In the blink of an eye, the mess left over from the slug attack began to disintegrate. Remains of creatures and debris rose up, being absorbed into the ship as if they had never existed. Elisa watched the process, satisfied to see that everything was in order.
She climbed into the ship without saying anything, entering its interior with the same familiarity as always. The tools and cables hanging around gave it a chaotic touch, but it always worked. Mongolito was finishing adjusting some controls and turned to her.
"Everything ready?" he asked in his usual tone.
Elisa nodded and looked into space, the ship already in the air, leaving the planet behind.
"Where are we going this time?" she asked, as if she were joking, knowing that Mongolito would never reveal the details easily.
Mongolito adjusted a couple more controls and, as the ship gained speed, he turned to Elisa with an expression that could only be interpreted as serious, despite his holographic face.
— We're going to Earth, he said, his voice a little deeper than usual. — Allivy called me, she needs to see you.
Elisa looked at him with a mix of surprise and doubt. While it wasn't unusual for Allivy to contact Mongolito for some matter, it had never been anything urgent... at least not at this level.
"Allivy? Why?" she asked, adjusting herself in her seat and crossing her arms. Her mind was beginning to race with thoughts of what could be happening, but she still didn't understand why they needed her specifically.
Mongolito didn't respond immediately. Instead, he began making some adjustments to the control panel, the green light on his holographic face flickering slightly, as if processing something internally.
— I don't have all the details —he admitted—. But they need you, Elisa. Something happened and it seems like it's very important that you're there.
Elisa nodded slowly, realizing that if Allivy had gone this far, it must be serious. Whatever was happening, it wasn't going to be easy.
"All right," he said finally, looking out the window at the stars that were speeding by. "To Earth, then."
The ship was speeding through the void of space when suddenly, a series of lights flashed inside the cabin and a strange noise filled the air. Elisa frowned and looked around, but before she could ask, a strong vibration ran through the ship, causing the seat she was sitting in to shake violently.
A crash echoed from deep within the hull, and suddenly, Mongolito's holographic face appeared in front of her, his eyes now unusually large, as if he had grown closer than usual. Elisa let out a scream, jumping out of her seat and almost falling to the ground.
—What's going on?! —Elisa screamed, still shaking from the shock and suddenness of it.
Mongolito didn't respond immediately, his face fixed and almost... smiling, as if he enjoyed the surprise he had caused.
"Were you really scared?" he said, his voice distorted, as if the laughter was suppressed deep inside. He didn't seem to have an ounce of empathy for the scare he had just given her.
Elisa looked at him, her breathing still rapid.
"You're an idiot!" she shouted furiously, gritting her teeth. She had nearly fallen off the ship and he was just laughing at her. How dare he?
Mongolito, in his holographic form, simply let out a virtual chuckle and readjusted some controls.
—Relax, it wasn't that bad, I scared the princess of Gloomoria —he replied in a mocking tone—. Don't tell me it was fun seeing you like that. You looked like... like an army of slugs had attacked you again.
Elisa glared at him, but knew there was no point in arguing with him any further. Instead, she crossed her arms and huffed, still processing what had happened.
— You are a bastard.
