May 12, 2010, 9:29 A.M. Location: The Mountain Dimension.

POV: Sterling Schnee

Sterling found solace in the haunting melodies of [Beauty Of Annihilation by Kevin Sherwood & Elena Siegman] The music enveloped him, A perfect backdrop to the serenity of the Mountain Dimension, where the air was crisp and the landscape was a breathtaking mosaic of towering peaks and lush valleys.

Just as the final notes faded, A sharp intrusion shattered the stillness [Play Siren Type: ASC T-128] his Pip-Pad blared an urgent warning, its siren cutting through the tranquility like a knife.

"Warning! Forced Update Detected!" Echoed the device, Its voice tinged with an unsettling urgency.

"Warning! Forced Update by Artneas Helios, Goddess of Victory & Freedom!" The system continued, Its mechanical tone laced with an almost sentient foreboding. Sterling's heart raced as he processed the notification. "What the fu—"

Before he could finish his exclamation, the system interrupted with a cheerful yet authoritative tone. "Hello! I am Artneas Helios, Sister of Zinthara Helios. I have provided you with an update that you can either Accept or Decline.

This update pertains to future missions that will include basic information about the world, The tasks at hand, Your position in the timeline, and any alternate universe (AU) details. I wish you good luck."

As the system concluded its introduction, it pinged twice, signaling the arrival of critical new information. "Sir, you have Four New Missions & Two Extra Missions," It stated, Its tone unwaveringly professional.

"What are they?" Sterling inquired, A mix of curiosity & concern creeping into his voice.

"Mission One… Medium-Term Mission. June 11, 2011, Location: On Earth, Universe: Earth-001-Young Justice DC Prime. Task: Make a big impact," The system detailed, Pausing briefly before continuing.

"Mission Two… Long-Term Mission. October 11, Year: Unknown, Universe-863-Naruto. Task: Take Naruto away from the toxic Konoha, then return him for the Academy Exam," It continued, Delineating the complexities of the mission with clinical precision.

"Mission Three… Long-Term Mission. February 2, 2008, Location: On Earth, Universe: Earth-634-MCU. Task: Create a secret organization. Optional: Save Tony Stark/Iron Man, Recruit Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow," The system elaborated, Stirring a sense of excitement within Sterling as he envisioned the potential for influence in the Marvel Universe.

"Mission Four… Short-Term Mission. January 22, 2018, Universe-461-R6E. Task: Assist Lion, Zofia, and Ela in New York City, Police Station. Threat Level: Moderate/Cautious. Optional: Eliminate all Chimeras," it concluded, the gravity of the situation weighing heavily on Sterling's shoulders.

"The Extra Missions are as follows," The system continued, Almost as if sensing Sterling's growing anticipation.

"Extra Mission One… Short-Term Mission. January 22, 2024, Universe-223-AIN. Task: Aid the Ukrainians. Optional: Eliminate all Russian Soldiers."

"Extra Mission Two… Short to Long-Term Mission. 1000 CE, Universe-382-MLP. Task: Contain [The Death Tree Virus] before it can escape the Everfree Forest! (Note: The Death Tree Virus is not a virus! But a parasite that takes control of the host's mind. Warning: all hosts are alive…) Optional: Glass all of Everfree Forest."

Sterling paused, Absorbing the weight of the missions before him. Each task was fraught with peril & potential, Yet they promised an engagement with the fabric of various universes.

"Huh…" Sterling mused, Considering the implications of the tasks laid before him. It was clear that he needed to enhance his capabilities, And he resolved it was time to invest in the Multiverse System Store. Opening the store, He meticulously filtered the options, Selecting only powers relevant to Naruto's world.

The array of abilities displayed before him was staggering: Sterling's eyes widened as he saw the powers available. He selected Naruto Uzumaki's Chakra Levels, Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan, ¿?Nine-Tailed Fox?¿, Complete Füinjutsu Mastery, Full Mastery of the Five Elements, Yin Release, Yang Release, Yin-Yang Release, The best Chakra control, And the Best Chakra Network. These powers could significantly bolster his effectiveness in the upcoming missions.

"System, What will this cost me?" Sterling asked, His voice steady despite the excitement bubbling within him.

"Sir, You had $1,765,591,581. After spending -$150,000,000, Your remaining balance is $1,615,591,581." The system replied, Its voice devoid of emotion yet precise.

"Hmm… That's fine," Sterling acknowledged, A flicker of determination igniting within him. "System, Please accept Extra Mission (Two) after completing the mission start the other Missions Three, Four, One, and Two in that order."

"Affirmative. User will be teleported in T-Minus 5 minutes. It is suggested to notify Neo and the others of your impending absence, Sir," The system replied, Its efficiency was a reassuring presence amidst the chaos.

Sterling sighed, Fully aware that the news of his new missions would elicit mixed reactions from his companions. He had already informed the girls about the return of his missions, And Neo's discontent was palpable.

The other two, However—curious and eager—prompted him to share the details of the four registered missions, Followed by the extra missions. The revelation of the extra missions had provoked a palpable anger among them, A mixture of concern for Sterling's safety & frustration at the perilous nature of the tasks.

As he prepared to face the unknown challenges ahead, Sterling reflected on the bonds he had forged with Neo and the others. Their camaraderie would be tested, But he felt a renewed sense of purpose. With each mission, He would not only shape the destinies of those he encountered but also redefine his own path in a multiverse teeming with possibilities.

7:26 A.M. 1000 CE

As Sterling is teleported away he summoned a Quarantine Military Suit... The Sterling did not summon a weapon other than a Beretta M10S Pistol. But Sterling was teleported into the Celestia & Luna's Throne room. Just after Season 3: Episode 13, Magical Mystery Cure & before Twilight's First Princess Summit.

Sterling landed on the ground with a thud, The impact reverberating through the polished marble floor of the throne room. The suddenness of his arrival startled both Princess Celestia & Princess Luna, Who had been engaged in a quiet discussion regarding the recent occurrences in Equestria.

The atmosphere was thick with expectation, As they were still processing the implications of Twilight Sparkle's recent transformation and the responsibilities that came with it.

Celestia's gaze was the first to settle on the newcomer. Her expression was one of curiosity mixed with caution, A reflection of her natural patience. "Who are you?" She inquired, Her voice calm yet authoritative. "And how did you arrive in our realm?"

Sterling pushed himself upright, Momentarily disoriented by the reverence emanating from the two alicorns. He took a breath, Gathering his thoughts. "I am Sterling Schnee." He began, His tone steadying as he met their curious gazes. "I come from a different universe. I was summoned here to assist with a... pressing matter."

Luna stepped forward, Her eyes glimmering with intrigue. "A different universe? We have read tales of humans in our legends, But to meet one in person... It is both fascinating & bewildering."

Sterling nodded, Recognizing the weight of that truth. "I understand that my presence here might be unexpected. I was just informed of a significant threat to this world—Something called the Death Tree Virus. I believe it's linked to a larger disturbance in the Everfree Forest."

Celestia exchanged a quick glance with Luna, her expression shifting to one of concern. "The Death Tree Virus? We have sensed a corruption spreading in the Everfree, but we were uncertain of its origin or how to contain it. Your arrival may be a fortuitous twist of fate."

Luna's voice took on a more earnest tone. "What do you know about this virus? We must act quickly to safeguard our lands and our citizens."

Sterling took a step closer to the map of Equestria that was unfurled on a nearby table, Tracing the darkened areas that indicated the virus's reach. "From what I've gathered, It's not a conventional virus. It's a parasite that takes control of its hosts, Driving them to madness and aggression. The longer it remains unchecked, The more it will corrupt the creatures of the forest—and potentially beyond."

Celestia looked at him intently, Her patience and love for her subjects evident in her demeanor. "You speak of a serious threat. We must gather our resources and prepare a response. However, I must ask—How do you plan to contain this virus?"

Sterling took a moment to consider his words carefully. The gravity of the situation weighed heavily on him; he understood that every action they took could have profound implications. "First, We need to ensure the safety of the nearby creatures and ponies. If the virus spreads, It could lead to chaos. I suggest sending a message to any pony living close to the Everfree Forest, Urging them to evacuate to Ponyville until we can assess the situation."

Celestia nodded, A look of determination crossing her face. "That is a wise suggestion. I can use my magic to send a message to every resident within a certain radius of the forest. We cannot take any chances."

Luna chimed in, Her voice filled with a gentle urgency. "We should also ensure that no one is already infected. If we can assess the situation quickly, we can act before it escalates."

Sterling straightened, feeling a sense of responsibility. "As of now, I don't sense any signs of infection in the immediate vicinity. From what I've seen and the reports I've gathered, it appears that the virus has not yet crossed into populated areas. But we must move fast to confirm this—both for the sake of your subjects and to prevent potential panic."

Celestia's expression softened, Her kindness shining through her authority. "Then we must act without delay. Luna, Please assist me in sending the message. Sterling, While we do this, I would like you to prepare yourself for the journey into the Everfree. Gather any supplies or information you might need. We will move as soon as we can."

Sterling felt a rush of gratitude toward the princesses. Their willingness to collaborate & act swiftly mirrored the determination he had encountered in his own universe. "Thank you, Princess Celestia. I'll make sure I have everything ready."

As Celestia & Luna moved to a nearby balcony overlooking the land, Sterling took a moment to assess the throne room. The polished marble and ornate decorations were a testament to the richness of Equestrian culture, but his mind was focused on the task at hand. He needed to be prepared for whatever awaited him in the depths of the Everfree Forest.

With a firm resolve, He gathered his thoughts and his equipment. He checked the Quarantine Military Suit, Ensuring it was equipped for the various threats he might encounter. The Beretta M10S Pistol remained holstered at his side, A reminder of the serious nature of his missions.

Meanwhile, Celestia & Luna's voices carried through the open balcony as they coordinated their message. Sterling could hear Celestia's calm yet commanding tone, Reassuring the residents of the nearby area to remain vigilant and seek safety in Ponyville. The urgency in her words spoke volumes about her love and dedication to her subjects.

After a few moments, The two princesses returned to the throne room, Their expressions a mix of urgency & focus. "The message has been sent," Celestia stated, Her patience still unwavering even in the face of impending danger. "We should expect some ponies to arrive in Ponyville soon. Now, let us move forward with our plan."

I led the Two Princesses to the open balcony again & Sterling summoned a hovering VH-60N White Hawk, Its sleek Dark Green & White exterior reflecting the sunlight as it hovered gracefully in the air. The helicopter was a marvel of technology, Equipped with advanced features designed for both speed & safety.

Sterling had summoned the vehicle with a flick of his wrist, Utilizing the capabilities of his own powers to ensure they could reach Ponyville swiftly & securely.

Celestia & Luna exchanged glances of surprise and intrigue. "Is this what you humans use to travel?" Luna asked, Her soft voice tinged with curiosity.

"Yes," Sterling replied, Gesturing for them to step aboard. "It will allow us to cover the distance quickly, Especially if we encounter any unforeseen obstacles on the ground."

Celestia nodded, Her patience and calm demeanor shining through. "A practical solution, Sterling. Thank you for thinking ahead."

Once aboard, Sterling took the pilot's seat, navigating the controls with ease. The cockpit was designed for both comfort and efficiency, And he quickly set the coordinates for Ponyville. Celestia & Luna settled into the passenger seats, Their expressions a mix of anticipation and determination.

As he initiated the flight sequence, The helicopter's rotors began to spin, creating a powerful gust of wind that whipped through the cabin. Sterling felt a surge of excitement as the VH-60N White Hawk lifted off the ground, Rising above the majestic landscape of Equestria. The view was breathtaking, With rolling hills & vibrant fields stretching beneath them, The vibrant colors of the land contrasting against the clear blue sky.

"We need to be prepared for anything when we arrive," Sterling said, His voice steady as he focused on their destination. "If the virus is as dangerous as I suspect, We may encounter creatures affected by it, Or worse."

Celestia's gaze remained fixed on the horizon, Her expression unwavering. "We will face whatever comes our way, together. My magic and Luna's may complement your skills, Sterling. We must remain vigilant."

A Few Minutes Later Sterling landings the VH-60N White Hawk outside of the Mayor's House & Sugarcube.

As the VH-60N White Hawk descended gracefully outside the Mayor's House and Sugarcube Corner, the vibrant colors of Ponyville greeted them like an old friend. The town buzzed with activity, but the sudden arrival of the helicopter sparked a mixture of curiosity & concern among the residents. Sterling shut down the rotors, and the whirring noise faded into the background, replaced by the sounds of the bustling town.

Sterling unbuckled his seatbelt and stepped out, Followed closely by Celestia & Luna. The two princesses radiated an aura of calm authority, Their presence immediately calming the towns ponies who had gathered to witness the spectacle.

As they stepped onto the grass, Sterling's keen eyes scanned the area. He noticed familiar faces emerging from the crowd—Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Rarity, each representing a vital piece of the Equestrian puzzle.

"Princess Celestia! Princess Luna!" Twilight exclaimed, Her bookish nature shining through as she rushed forward, her eyes sparkling with excitement and concern. "What's happening? We sensed something was wrong in the Everfree Forest. Is it about the Death Tree Virus?"

"Indeed, Twilight," Celestia replied, Her tone soothing but serious. "We have a situation that requires your help. This is Sterling Schnee, a human from another universe. He has come to assist us in containing the virus before it spreads further."

The mention of Sterling's name drew the attention of the other ponies. Twilight's curiosity piqued, and she stepped closer to him, her intelligent eyes analyzing him. "A human? Fascinating! I've read about humans in legends, but I never imagined I would meet one. What do you know about the virus?"

Before Sterling could respond, Pinkie Pie bounced forward, her hyperactive energy a stark contrast to the seriousness of the conversation. "Ooh! Ooh! A human! Hi, I'm Pinkie Pie! Are you going to throw a party? Because I love parties! I could throw one right now!"

"Pinkie, Bow's not the time for parties!" Applejack chimed in, Her kind & mature demeanor cutting through the chaos. "We need to focus on the problem at hoof. Sterling, What can you tell us about this virus?"

Sterling took a deep breath, Grounding himself amid the whirlwind of excitement & concern. "The Death Tree Virus is a parasite that takes control of its hosts, Driving them to madness & aggression. We need to work together to contain it, And I need your help to gather information & resources."

Sterling's Pip-Pad then pinged, Signaling the arrival of critical new information. The system had sent images from an alternate timeline. Image One showed The new Princess Twilight Sparkle infected with her left wing ripped off with parasites that looked like roots sticking out where her left wing should be, Twilight's mouth was gone with nothing but roots sticking out of her mouth going in & out of where her mouth should be.

Another Image, Image Two showed Scootaloo infected her neck was ripped off by the parasites making her look more like a tree, Her lower body looked rooted to the ground & she may be rooted to the ground.

Sterling's stomach lurched as he stared at the two horrifying images displayed on his Pip-Pad. The gruesome sight of Twilight Sparkle, once vibrant and filled with life, now grotesquely transformed into a twisted version of herself, caused bile to rise in his throat. The roots protruding from her mouth and the empty space where her wing should be were nightmarish in their implications.

He quickly shifted his gaze to the second image, But it was no better. Scootaloo, the spirited young pegasus, appeared entirely unrecognizable—her neck gruesomely severed, and her lower body rooted to the ground like a tree. The horror of both images weighed heavily on his conscience, and he had to fight the urge to gag once more.

"Ugh, No!" Sterling finally exclaimed, Shaking his head. "This is what we're up against!" His voice was filled with urgency as he turned the Pip-Pad around to show the others.

The reactions were immediate and visceral. Twilight's eyes widened in shock, her bookish nature momentarily overshadowed by horror. "What... what is this? How is this even possible?"

Applejack stepped closer, Her expression a mix of determination and concern. "We can't let this happen to any pony. We have to act fast." Rarity gasped, Her dramatic flair kicking in. "This is simply dreadful!"

Pinkie Pie, For once was silent her usual bubbly demeanor replaced by a serious look as she processed the images. Fluttershy too looked pale, Her gentle heart likely breaking at the thought of such suffering.

"I need to know everything about this virus," Twilight said, Her tone shifting to one of intense focus. "If we can understand it, Maybe we can find a way to combat it."

Sterling nodded, Still feeling the weight of the images. But again Sterling's Pip-Pad then pinged, Signaling the arrival of what can be new critical information. "Sir, I have Information from Twilight Sparkle from Universe-383/1-MLP Starting recording… "Hello Hello? Is there any pony out there? Can any pony hear me? I find myself sitting here, Filled with a sense of desperation and longing for connection as I utter these words. I hope that some pony—any pony—will hear this heartfelt message. To Princess Celestia, my thoughts and prayers are with you; I truly hope you are safe and sound amidst the chaos that surrounds us.

The weight of my shortcomings rests heavily on my heart, and I can't help but express my deepest apologies for the failures that have brought us to this moment. [Crys can be heard from Twilight Sparkle from Universe-383-1-MLP]." Sir, It seems this Twilight Sparkle made something to transmit this information to all worlds that have Equestria in it." The System says.

The tension in the air grew palpable, An almost tangible force, As the final echoes of Twilight Sparkle's voice from Universe-383-

1-MLP faded from the Pip-Pad, Leaving behind an unsettling silence that enveloped the room like a heavy fog.

The atmosphere, Once filled with vibrant energy and laughter, Now crackled with a mix of anxiety & dread. Sterling shifted uncomfortably, The weight of the situation pressing down on him as he surveyed the faces of the gathered ponies. Each one wore expressions etched with concern and fear, Their minds racing as they grappled with the severity of the threat looming before them.

Some ponies fidgeted nervously, While others exchanged worried glances, Seeking reassurance in one another. Each heartbeat seemed to echo in the stillness, Heightening the urgency of their predicament. It was clear that the gravity of their challenge was not to be underestimated, And the path ahead would demand courage and unity like never before.

"We need to act immediately," Sterling said, His voice breaking the stillness. "We now have the information about the virus's stages & symptoms, We now might be able to devise a plan to counteract it. But first, We must confirm that no pony is already infected."

Twilight's expression shifted from horror to resolve, Her mind racing with ideas. "We should set up a screening station right here in Ponyville. If we can examine every pony who might have been near the Everfree Forest, We can catch any potential cases before they escalate."

"Agreed," Celestia affirmed, Her voice steady & commanding. "Twilight, You and Sterling can lead the effort. Gather the necessary materials, and I will send word to the other towns to alert them of the potential threat."

"Let's make sure we have enough supplies for the screenings," Twilight said, Her mind already racing with the logistics involved. "We can use the library as a base of operations. I'll need some parchment, quills, and ink to document any findings."

"Rarity," Sterling called, Turning to the fashionista who had been quiet, Her mind likely racing with ideas of her own. "Can you help gather some medical supplies? Bandages, Antiseptics, Anything that you think might be helpful."

"Of course, Darling!" Rarity exclaimed, Her dramatic flair returning. "I'll gather everything I can find! The last thing we need is for any pony to suffer because we weren't prepared." Her eyes sparkled with determination as she dashed off toward the nearest supply store.

"Fluttershy," Sterling continued, His gaze shifting to the gentle pegasus, "I know this is a lot to ask, but can you check on any animals that might have wandered near the Everfree Forest? If something has affected them, we might find clues that can help us understand the virus better."

Fluttershy nodded, her gentle demeanor unwavering. "I-I can do that. I'll be careful, and I'll bring any injured animals back to the library for examination."

"Applejack!" Sterling called, noticing the dependable earth pony standing resolutely. "Can you keep an eye on the apple orchards? Make sure none of the animals that might have been in the forest come into contact with your crops or the nearby ponies. We must ensure the virus doesn't spread through any means."

Applejack tipped her hat, Her expression serious. "You can count on me, Sterling. I'll make sure every critter that comes near gets a good look-over before they set foot in Ponyville."

As each pony set off to fulfill their roles, Sterling felt a swell of gratitude and admiration for his newfound friends. Their determination & willingness to collaborate filled him with hope. With every passing moment, their collective resolve to protect their home fortified the bond they were forming in the face of adversity.

"Rainbow Dash," Sterling called out, His voice rising above the activity. "I could use your speed. Can you fly over Ponyville and deliver a message to any ponies that might be outside? Let them know to stay alert and head to the library for screening if they've been in the vicinity of the Everfree Forest."

"On it!" Rainbow Dash responded, Her usual bravado lighting up her expression. "I'll make sure every pony knows what's going on. Just watch me!" With a powerful flap of her wings, She soared into the sky, a streak of blue against the clear backdrop.

With every pony engaged in their respective tasks, Sterling turned to Celestia & Luna, Who had been observing the unfolding scene. "Your Highnesses, I appreciate your guidance & support in this matter. Your presence alone provides the reassurance needed to keep every pony calm."

Celestia smiled warmly, Her patience radiating like a beacon of hope. "It is essential that we act swiftly and with purpose. You have done well to rally our friends, Sterling. Together, we will face this threat head-on."

"Indeed," Luna added, Her soft voice imbued with optimism. "We must also keep our minds open to possibilities. Sometimes the best solutions arise from the most unexpected places."

As they spoke, Sterling's Pip-Pad pinged once more, Catching his attention. He activated it, Eager to see if more information had come through. The screen illuminated with new data, Detailing the progression of the Death Tree Virus in various environments.

"System, Display the new data," He instructed, Leaning in closer. The information that appeared detailed potential environmental factors that could influence the virus's spread—temperature, Humidity, and interactions with specific flora and fauna.

"Sir, The analysis indicates that the virus thrives in damp, Dark environments such as the depths of the Everfree Forest. It appears to be particularly virulent during the spring months when life is abundant," The system reported, Its tone is clinical and informative.

"This is valuable information," Sterling noted, Relaying it to the princesses. "If we can identify the conditions that promote its growth, We might be able to devise methods to neutralize its spread. Perhaps we can create barriers or even use magical means to alter the environment around the Everfree."

"That's a brilliant idea," Celestia remarked, Her eyes shining with approval. "We can work together to formulate a plan that incorporates both magic & scientific principles from your universe. Our combined knowledge could lead to innovative solutions."

With a renewed sense of purpose, Sterling felt the adrenaline coursing through him. "Let's head to the library. I'll gather the information we've just acquired & start drafting a plan for containment and neutralization."

The three of them moved swiftly, Making their way to the library where Twilight was already setting up the screening area. The atmosphere buzzed with activity as the other ponies returned with supplies, Each contributing to the collective effort to ensure Ponyville's safety.

Sterling joined Twilight, And together they began organizing the resources they had gathered. The library quickly transformed into a makeshift clinic, With tables filled with medical supplies, parchment for documentation, and diagrams displaying the virus's stages.

As they worked, Sterling felt a sense of camaraderie blooming in the air. Each pony brought their strengths to the table, Creating a synergy that transcended their differences. They were not merely individuals fighting a battle; They were a team—united by friendship & the desire to protect their home.

"Alright, Every pony!" Twilight called out, Her voice commanding attention. "We have a lot to do, And time is of the essence. If you have encountered any symptoms or have been near the Everfree Forest, please step forward for screening. We need to act fast!"

One by one, The ponies approached, Their expressions a mix of concern & hope. Sterling stood by Twilight's side, Ready to assist with the diagnostics & provide guidance based on the information they had gathered.

As the screening process began, Sterling felt a flicker of determination ignite within him. Together, They would face the darkness of the Death Tree Virus & protect the essence of what made Equestria so special—their friendships, Their communities, And the bonds that held them together.

The journey into the Everfree Forest loomed ahead but for now… They would hold the line & ensure that no pony would face the horrors of the virus alone. Together, They would forge a path through the uncertainty, United in their resolve to combat the encroaching darkness.

Mini-Chapter 16.5: A Day Before Action

—————————————————————

Five Days Later

——

For the past Five Days, Sterling slept in Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, And Rainbow Dash's homes. On the third and fourth days, Sterling diligently constructed a Forward Operating Base (FOB) that would serve as a stronghold for future operations.

He built a robust, Reinforced Iron White Wall, designed to withstand any threats that might emerge from the surrounding area, effectively marking the perimeter of a safe zone. By the fifth day, He had further advanced his efforts by creating a sturdy gate that led directly to Fluttershy's Cottage, nestled in the heart of the Everfree Forest. This area, Now referred to as The Black Zone, was transformed into a strategic entry point, ensuring both security and accessibility for those venturing in and out of the forest.

'Have you ever thought about how strange it is to actually walk on clouds? It's such a surreal experience. I mean, I found myself gently treading on these fluffy, Cotton-like formations that felt incredibly soft beneath my feet. They were so comforting that I felt completely at ease, Almost as if I were walking on a plush bed of marshmallows. In fact, It was so tranquil up there that I ended up drifting off to sleep like a baby, Surrounded by a dreamy white landscape. It was a truly magical sensation, Unlike anything I've ever experienced before.' Sterling thought.

Sterling & the Mane Six are yet to enter the Everfree forest.

———

Sterling was at Townhall's second-floor balcony. "Greetings, Everyone! My name is Sterling Schnee, And I am a human, I understand that many of you are feeling anxious or concerned about our current situation. It's completely natural to be uncertain when faced with such inexplicable circumstances.

Right now, None of you seem to grasp why you can't leave Ponyville, Nor do you understand the restrictions that have been imposed – preventing other ponies from entering unless granted permission by one of the Princesses.

This unusual state of affairs has left us all in the dark, And I want to assure you that we will work together to seek answers and find a way forward. Remember, You're not alone in this; we are in this together." Sterling paused to watch the pony's reactions, But then Sterling continued.

"The situation arose due to the spread of a frightening illness known as The Death Tree Virus. As the virus may try to infiltrate the community, The local authorities deemed it necessary to impose a quarantine on Ponyville. This decision was made to prevent any contagion & protect your ponies from the looming threat. With the streets now eerily quiet & the usual bustle of life halted, You'll now be faced with the harsh reality of isolation as you all await further information on the virus & its containment." Sterling finished.

"I can see that many of you might be feeling a bit uncertain or anxious right now, But how about I lighten the mood & sing a little something special for all you wonderful ponies?" Sterling said.

As Sterling stood on the balcony, He could feel the tension in the air, thick and palpable. The eyes of the citizens of Ponyville were glued to him, A mix of hope & apprehension reflected in their expressions. With a deep breath, He prepared to divert their attention from the dark clouds of uncertainty looming over them.

"Okay, Every pony," He began, His voice steady, "I want you to take a moment to breathe. Remember, We are all in this together. Music has a way of lifting our spirits & bringing us closer. So, Let me share a little something with you."

Sterling recalled a song & thought it was perfect & under the bright blue sky of Ponyville, Sterling prepared to perform ["Happy" by Pharrell Williams], A song that radiated Positivity & Joy. He stood confidently on the stage, Surrounded by a lively crowd, Eager to hear his uplifting rendition. As he began to sing, His voice filled the square, bringing smiles & laughter to all who listened.

"It might seem crazy what I'm about to say," Sterling sang, His enthusiasm infectious from the very first note. The crowd swayed, Some ponies clapping along as his energy reverberated throughout the square.

Princess Twilight Sparkle watched intently, Her intellectual mind processing the meaning behind the lyrics. "This song really captures the essence of happiness," She noted to herself, A smile creeping onto her face. Despite her usual serious nature, she couldn't help but feel buoyed by the infectious rhythm. "I should study the psychology behind how music influences mood," She mused, Jotting down notes in her mind even as she tapped her hoof to the beat.

Applejack stood beside Twilight, Her heart swelling with pride. "Now this is what I call a performance!" She exclaimed, Her voice warm and inviting. "Sterling knows how to lift everyone's spirits. It's just like a sunny day on the farm after a long winter!" She joined the crowd in clapping along, her honest and caring nature shining through as she encouraged others to join in.

Rainbow Dash, hovering above the crowd, let out a whoop of excitement. "This is awesome! I love how he just radiates energy!" She shouted, Performing a few aerial flips as she sang along. "I could totally use this song as my warm-up for flying! It's all about that high-energy vibe!" Her bold personality fully embraced the spirit of the song, And she encouraged others to join her in her exuberance.

Pinkie Pie, As expected, Was in her element. She bounced around, Pulling other ponies into an impromptu dance party. "Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof!" She sang at the top of her lungs, Her eyes sparkling with joy. "We should all be as happy as cupcakes on a sunny day! Dance, everypony, dance!" Her quirky nature and hyperactive spirit made it impossible for anyone to resist joining in.

Fluttershy, Though more reserved & shy, Couldn't help but smile at the joy around her. "It's so lovely to see everypony so happy," She whispered to a nearby friend, Her gentle voice barely audible over the music. She swayed softly, Enjoying the atmosphere, her heart swelling with warmth as she took in the smiles of her friends.

Rarity, Sensing the excitement, Clutched her chest in dramatic flair. "Darling, This is simply divine!" She exclaimed, Her eyes wide with admiration. "Sterling has a talent that deserves to be showcased at the Grand Galloping Gala! Imagine the elegance he could bring to the stage!" Rarity's creative mind was already spinning with visions of glamorous outfits & dazzling performances.

Princess Celestia & Princess Luna stood together, Their regal presence adding to the occasion. Celestia's warm smile mirrored the joy of the crowd. "What a delightful celebration of happiness," She remarked. "Sterling truly knows how to bring joy to others. It reminds me of the importance of happiness in our lives." Luna nodded, Her gentle demeanor shining through. "Indeed, sister. It is a beautiful reminder that joy can uplift us all, No matter our circumstances."

As Sterling continued with the chorus, "Because I'm happy! Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof," The entire crowd joined in, Their voices blending harmoniously. The atmosphere was electric, Filled with laughter and cheerful camaraderie.

The performance culminated with Sterling singing about resilience against negativity. "Can't nothing bring me down," He belted, And the crowd echoed his sentiment, their spirits higher than ever.

As the last notes faded away, A thunderous applause erupted, Echoing through the streets of Ponyville. Sterling took a bow, Overwhelmed with gratitude & joy, Knowing that he had brought his new friends & community together in happiness. The day had become a spectacular celebration, Filled with laughter, music, and the magic of friendship.

As the sun began to set over Ponyville, Casting a warm golden hue across the landscape, Sterling continued to sing "Die with a Smile," The atmosphere in Ponyville grew even more charged with emotion. His voice, Filled with longing & sincerity, Resonated deeply with the audience.

"I, I just woke up from a dream," He sang, His tone soft yet powerful, Drawing the crowd in. The ponies leaned forward, Captivated by the raw vulnerability in his delivery. Many felt their hearts flutter as he continued, "Where you and I had to say goodbye." The poignant lyrics struck a chord, Reminding everyone of the fleeting nature of moments spent with loved ones.

Princess Twilight Sparkle felt a lump in her throat as she listened. "It's a reminder of how precious our time is," She whispered to herself, Her serious nature breaking down as the emotional weight of the song wrapped around her. "We must cherish every moment." She glanced at her friends, A deep appreciation blooming within her for the bonds they shared.

As Sterling moved into the next lines, "Wherever you go, that's where I'll follow," The crowd felt a wave of unity wash over them. Applejack nodded in agreement, Her heart feeling full. "That's the truth right there," She said to a nearby pony. "We stick together through thick and thin. Ain't that right, y'all?" Her sincerity resonated as she looked around at her friends, Grateful for their support.

The energy shifted as Sterling sang, "Nobody's promised tomorrow, So I love you every night like it's the last night." Rainbow Dash, Usually bold and brash, found herself reflecting on the message. "He's really nailing this," She admitted, Her gaze fixed on Sterling. "It makes me wanna take each moment seriously, Especially with my friends."

With the music building, Pinkie Pie couldn't contain herself. "This is so beautiful!" She squealed, Her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "I want to throw a 'Love & Friendship' party right now!" She bounced around, Encouraging others to join in, Her hyperactive spirit was infectious.

Fluttershy, Standing a little to the side, Felt her heart swell. "It's so touching," She murmured, Her voice soft. "I just want to hug everypony." She glanced at her friends, Feeling a deep sense of gratitude for their presence in her life, Wishing they could all feel the warmth of love together.

As Sterling entered the chorus, "If the world was ending, I'd wanna be next to you," The crowd erupted into cheers, Feeling the full impact of the song's sentiment. Rarity, Swept up in the emotion, exclaimed, "Oh, How romantic! It's as if he's singing directly to us!" She sighed dramatically, Clutching her heart. "This is the kind of love story that deserves its own fashion line!"

Princess Celestia watched with a serene smile, Her heart warmed by the display of love and camaraderie. "This is a beautiful expression of the bonds we share." She remarked to Luna. "It's a reminder that even in our darkest moments, Love shines through." Luna nodded, Her gentle spirit resonating with the song's powerful message. "Indeed, Sister. The connection we have with each other is what gives us strength."

As Sterling continued to sing, "I'd wanna hold you just for a while and die with a smile." The audience felt a collective sigh of contentment. The lyrics encapsulated their feelings perfectly, And they began to sway gently, their hearts intertwined in the shared experience.

With the final lines. "If the world was ending, I'd wanna be next to you… I'd wanna be next to you." Sterling poured his heart into the last notes, His voice filled with passion & sincerity.

The crowd erupted into applause, Their cheers echoing through the streets of Ponyville. The performance had touched their hearts, Reminding them of the importance of Love, Friendship, And cherish every moment they had together.

Sterling took a deep bow, His heart full of gratitude for the overwhelming support from his new friends & community. The evening had transformed into a beautiful celebration of love, Leaving an indelible impression on the hearts of every pony present.

6:53 P.M. 1000 CE

As the night unfolded with vibrant energy, Sterling found himself at Twilight's Treehouse, A cozy & enchanting place filled with the soft glow of lanterns and the sound of laughter. Gathering around him were several familiar faces.

Rainbow Dash had zoomed in, Her signature rainbow mane catching the light, With Scootaloo darting beside her, bubbling with excitement.

Applejack followed closely, Her cowgirl hat perched firmly on her head, And she had brought along her younger sister, Apple Bloom, who eagerly chatted about their latest adventures on the farm.

Fluttershy, Always gentle & kind, Added a serene presence to the mix, her soft voice blending harmoniously with the laughter of the others.

Meanwhile, Pinkie Pie, With her infectious energy and wide grin, bounced around, trying to organize games and treats, ensuring everyone was having a good time.

Rarity, Ever the fashionista, Brought her younger sister, Sweetie Belle, who clung to a few of her sister's delightful accessories, eyeing the various decorations for inspiration.

And, Of course, At the center of it all was Twilight Sparkle, Radiating warmth and excitement as she welcomed her friends to her beloved home. Together, They formed a lively group of one Human teenager, six young adult mares & three enthusiastic kids, All gathered under the starlit sky, ready to enjoy a night of friendship and fun at Twilight's Treehouse.

And at that moment Twilight was asking many questions about what humans eat Sterling smiled at the gathering of familiar faces, each one a testament to the friendships he had formed in this vibrant world. Twilight Sparkle, with her insatiable curiosity, was eager to learn more about him, particularly about his human diet.

"Well, Twilight," He began, Leaning against a nearby table laden with snacks, "Humans have quite a diverse diet. We eat a variety of foods, including fruits, vegetables, grains, and proteins." He paused, Noticing the intrigued expressions on the faces around him.

"Fruits are a big favorite," He continued, Gesturing toward the spread. "For instance, I personally enjoy limes, green apples, green grapes, watermelon, and avocados. They're refreshing & provide a lot of essential vitamins."

Twilight's eyes widened with interest, Her mind racing as she scribbled notes. "Limes? What do you use those for? Do you eat them raw or use them in cooking?"

"Both, Actually!" Sterling replied, Chuckling lightly at her enthusiasm. "We often use lime juice in drinks, Like lemonade, or to add flavor to dishes. It's a versatile fruit."

"Sounds delicious!" Twilight beamed, Her excitement palpable. "And what about vegetables? What do humans typically eat?"

Sterling nodded, "We enjoy a range of vegetables too. I like cucumbers, lettuce, potatoes, and corn. They're great in salads, sides, or even main dishes."

"Potatoes! Oh, I've heard of those!" Pinkie Pie chimed in, Bouncing with delight. "Are they as fun to eat as they are to say?"

"Definitely! You can bake them, fry them, or mash them. They're really versatile," Sterling explained, Warming to the conversation. "But I should mention, There are some fruits and vegetables that I'm not a fan of, like strawberries, pears, and bananas. I find them too sweet for my taste."

"Not a fan of bananas?" Rainbow Dash raised an eyebrow, Hovering slightly above the ground. "How can you not like them? They're the best for a quick energy boost before flying!"

Sterling chuckled. "I guess everyone has their preferences. I prefer my energy from other sources, Like protein-rich foods."

"Ah, Protein!" Twilight exclaimed, Her eyes gleaming with knowledge. "What kinds of proteins do humans typically eat?"

"Well, Humans consume various proteins, including meat, dairy, and legumes. However, I understand that ponies do not eat meat as a general rule. So, I'll stick to talking about legumes and dairy. We have beans, lentils, cheese, and yogurt, for example."

Rarity, Always interested in the finer aspects of life, chimed in. "And what about sweets? Surely you indulge in something sugary now & then?"

Sterling grinned, "Of course! Humans enjoy a wide variety of sweets—cakes, cookies, and candies. However, I try not to overdo it. Moderation is key!"

At that moment, Apple Bloom, who had been listening intently, piped up, "What about those sweets? Do you ever make them yourself? It sounds like a fun thing to do together!"

"Absolutely! Baking can be a great bonding experience," Sterling replied, his mind racing with ideas. "I'd love to try baking together with all of you. I can teach you how to make some of my favorite treats, like cookies or cupcakes!"

"Oh, Cupcakes!" Pinkie Pie squealed, Her eyes sparkling with excitement. "I'm in! We can make the most amazing cupcake party ever!"

"How about we make a fruit salad with the fruits you like, and we can bake some treats too?" Twilight suggested, Her mind already working on the logistics.

"Sounds like a plan!" Sterling agreed, Feeling a wave of warmth wash over him at the thought of sharing such a delightful experience with his new friends.

As they continued discussing the various foods & the possibilities of cooking together, The atmosphere in Twilight's Treehouse grew brighter. Laughter & ideas flowed freely, Dissipating any lingering tension from the past few days.

Meanwhile, In the background, Rainbow Dash & Applejack exchanged glances, Both still listening intently to the conversation. Rainbow's curiosity piqued about what other human customs might differ from their own pony ways. "So, Sterling, besides food, What else is different about humans? Is it true that you have to eat every day?"

Sterling nodded, "Yes, We do need to eat regularly to maintain our energy and health. It's a bit different from how you ponies might graze throughout the day."

"Interesting!" Twilight interjected, Her eyes gleaming with excitement. "I can't wait to learn more about your culture & customs! Do humans have any special rituals around mealtime?"

Sterling smiled, Appreciating the genuine interest. "Well, We often gather with family and friends for meals, and it's a time to share stories and connect. It's similar to how you all gather together for friendship lessons and celebrations."

The conversation flowed effortlessly, Each question leading to another insightful discussion. As Sterling shared more about his world, He felt the bonds between him and the ponies strengthen, creating a tapestry of friendship woven together by understanding and shared experiences.

Meanwhile, Rainbow Dash & Applejack continued to listen, Their curiosity growing. They exchanged knowing glances, Silently agreeing that they would have to ask more questions later, intrigued by what other human experiences might be revealed in the days to come.

The atmosphere in Twilight's Treehouse was filled with laughter, Camaraderie, and the promise of new culinary adventures, all while the shadow of the Death Tree Virus loomed outside, reminding them of the challenges they still had to face together. But for now, They cherished the light of friendship that shone brightly in their hearts.

—————————————————————

Later that night, In the cozy confines of their shared bedroom, Sterling, Rainbow Dash, and Applejack found themselves gathered together, their voices hushed so as not to disturb the other ponies peacefully sleeping in other rooms/bedrooms. The room was dimly lit, The soft glow of the moon casting gentle shadows across the walls, creating a serene atmosphere.

Curiosity sparked in the air as they exchanged glances, Each feeling a mix of wonder and concern over the topic that had been lingering in their minds. They wanted to delve deeper into the mysterious reasons behind the human diet, Particularly the practice of eating meat, which felt so foreign to their own herbivorous lifestyle.

Rainbow Dash broke the silence first, Her bold nature shining through. "Hey, Sterling, About what you said earlier—about humans eating meat. I mean, Why do you do that? It's just… So different from us ponies."

Applejack nodded in agreement, Her expression earnest. "Yeah, I reckon it's a pretty important question. We all know that ponies don't eat meat, And we don't exactly look fondly upon it. But we're not here to judge; We just want to understand."

Sterling leaned back slightly, Taking a moment to gather his thoughts. He appreciated their openness to learning and their concern for his perspective. "Well, it's part of our biology," He began, His tone thoughtful. "Humans are omnivores, Which means we can eat both plants and animals. Our bodies have evolved to digest a variety of foods, And for many humans, meat is a significant source of protein, vitamins, and minerals."

Rainbow Dash flapped her wings in mild frustration. "But why eat meat at all? I mean, There are plenty of fruits and veggies that provide protein. Why not go with those instead?"

Sterling smiled, Recognizing the passion in her voice. "That's a fair point, And many humans do choose vegetarian or vegan diets for various reasons, like health, ethics, or environmental concerns. But for some, Eating meat is a cultural practice or a matter of personal preference. It can also be tied to the cuisine of different regions, Where certain meats are staples."

Applejack interjected, Her brow furrowed in concern. "But don't you feel bad about it? I mean, Every creature has a right to live, just like us. How do you reconcile that with eating meat?"

Sterling appreciated her empathy and took a moment to reflect. "It's definitely a complex issue. Many humans are aware of the ethical implications of eating meat, And that awareness can lead to important discussions about how we treat animals and the environment. Some choose to source their meat from farms that practice humane treatment, While others may adopt a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle for moral reasons."

Rainbow Dash tilted her head, her curiosity piqued. "So, It's not just about eating whatever you want without thinking about it?"

"Exactly," Sterling replied, Feeling a connection forming in their discussion. "For many people, It's about balancing personal needs with ethical considerations. Everyone has their own beliefs and practices regarding food, and it often varies by culture and individual values."

Applejack nodded, Her understanding deepening. "I guess that makes sense. Different cultures have different customs, And I can see how food choices can reflect that."

"Right!" Sterling affirmed, Grateful for their willingness to engage in such a meaningful conversation. "And while ponies & humans may have different diets, The fundamental need for sustenance and nourishment is universal. What matters most is being mindful of our choices and respecting one another's lifestyles."

Rainbow Dash crossed her arms, her expression thoughtful. "So, If I ever tried some human food, would you recommend something that doesn't involve meat?"

Sterling chuckled lightly. "Absolutely! There are countless delicious dishes that are entirely plant-based. I could introduce you to some fantastic vegetarian recipes that are full of flavor—like stir-fried vegetables, hearty bean chili, or even a flavorful avocado salad."

"Count me in!" Rainbow replied with enthusiasm, Her eyes sparkling at the prospect of trying new foods.

Applejack smiled, Her heartwarming approach evident. "And I'd love to help with that too! We can even incorporate some of our own Ponyville produce into the recipes. It'll be a fun way to blend our worlds."

As they continued to discuss potential meals and recipes, The atmosphere in the room lightened. The initial tension surrounding the topic of meat gave way to excitement and camaraderie, as they shared ideas and experiences.

"Thanks for being so open with us, Sterling," Applejack said sincerely. "It's important for us to understand each other, especially in times like these."

"Yeah, It helps bridge the gap between our worlds," Rainbow added, Her tone lighter now. "Plus, It's pretty cool to learn about your culture."

Sterling felt a warmth in his chest at their acceptance. "I appreciate that. And I'm grateful for the chance to share my world with you. It really shows how friendship transcends even the biggest differences."

With that, The trio continued their discussion, weaving plans for cooking together & exploring the culinary delights of both their worlds. Laughter and excitement filled the room, Creating a bond that would only strengthen as they faced the challenges ahead.

Outside, The moon shone brightly over Ponyville, Casting a comforting glow, while inside, the warmth of friendship enveloped them, proving that understanding and connection could flourish, even amidst the unknowns that lay ahead.

As the first light of dawn filters through the window, Sterling slowly opens his eyes, feeling the warmth of the sun on his face. He shifts slightly and becomes aware of the comforting weight resting on his lap. It's then that he notices Rainbow Dash & Applejack nestled cozily against him.

Rainbow, With her vibrant rainbow mane, And her head resting peacefully on his thigh, While Applejack with her signature hat pulled low over her eyes leans against his side, Casually dozing. The soft sounds of their breaths create a serene atmosphere, And a gentle smile spreads across Sterling's face as he takes in the peaceful scene before him.

——

A Bit Later…

——

As Rainbow Dash & Applejack jolted awake, Letting out startled gasps. The sound echoed in the quiet morning, Marking the beginning of a new day. With a quick glance at the clock on the wall, They noticed the time ticked to 6:49 AM, And both felt a mix of embarrassment & urgency, realizing they had lost track of time. The events of the previous day flooded their minds as they exchanged sheepish glances, Still grappling with the remnants of sleep and the early morning light.

After the embarrassing morning, Forty-Two Minutes Later. Sterling left after eating and chatting with the girls & then telling them what he'd be doing, That being scouting the Everfree forest alone… The girls protested but Sterling promised he'd be safe.

––

Now, Sterling found himself standing before the imposing Gates of The Black Zone, A colossal structure shrouded in darkness. The air around him crackled with otherworldly energy, And the gates loomed like monoliths against the dimly lit horizon.

Their surface was engraved with intricate carvings depicting ancient battles and forgotten legends, Each telling a story of those who had dared to enter and the dangers that lay within. As Sterling approached, A chill ran down his spine, and he couldn't shake the feeling that he was on the threshold of a world unlike any other, a realm where shadows thrived and secrets waited to be uncovered.

The heavy iron doors, Slightly ajar, Seemed to breathe as if inviting yet warning him of the perilous journey ahead.
