Chapter 4: 4: Dungeon diving (1/2)



Eve: would you like to enter domremy dust mine dungeon?

I mentally click yes and the scene shifts around me. I appear inside the abandoned mine with the entrance doors barred off behind me. Tiny dust lights flicker above my head going down the mineshaft. A small grayed out map appears in my HUD. There is also a set of numbers beside the grey out area.

Eve: let's explain the map feature

- Dungeon maps will initially be grayed out and will only color in when you find the Auto map in each dungeon or explore the dungeon. The numbers beside the map are how many floors that are in the dungeon. Higher level dungeons that are lv50 or higher will not have any information like floor level or Auto map.

- Allies are marked by their huntress/ hubter symbol.

- enemies aren't marked except by certain skills.

- each dungeon has a boss that needs to be defeated to clear the dungeon

- if you leave the dungeon before the boss is defeated all enemies will be restored and increas in level if it's repeatedly left.

I nod my head, looking at the screen seeing B3F,and start heading into the mine cautiously with my shield raised and my sword in a position to thrust instead of swinging. As I walk down the tunnel scanning for any sort of opening, turns, eaves, or anything that can hide an enemy when I spot a glowing piece of stone. Looking around I then use observe on the stone.

Description: a small deposit of fire dust inside stone.

I press my hand on the stone and put it into my inventory. My inventory is 3x3 panel meaning I can hold only nine items inside my inventory since I'm not wearing a pack of any kind. Thankfully equipped stuff is placed in different slots.

Walking on I come to a open room with old tables, minecarts, a chest and a glowing pile of stones. Walking over I find them being more fire dust stones. Putting the stones in my inventory I bring my total up to 6 stones. As I go towards the chest I hear a growl and turn towards the noise.

There standing about waist height is a two legged Grimm that has a raptor or shrieker like appearance with a thick skull plate. A Creep.

Creep

It growls and charges at me as it gets close I thrust my shield forward hitting it head-on. Bang, goes my shield as I thrust my sword forward into its throat. As the blade sinks into the flesh of the Grimm I hit it with a shield bash then another sword strike. I jump back and do a quick observe

As It charges at me I swing the sword once more in an overhead swing slamming the blade into it's skull plate and smashing it as the sword goes straight through.

Creep lv3 defeated: +30 XP, Grimm Bone armor fragment.

I sigh and look around the room seeing the entrances to the room clear. Relaxing a little I sheath crocera mors and go to the chest in the room. Checking the chest and seeing It's locked. Grabbing a bobby pin I got in my hoodie I start to pick the lock. A little flick and jiggle the lock comes open. Opening the chest I find three items inside.

Picking up the items I grab the revolver and look at the small revolver modeled after a weatherby .38 1923 top-break revolver.

I equip the revolver as I place the holster on my belt. I decide to walk on down the left of the two mineshafts in the room. Walking down the shaft I'm confronted by two creeps. Pulling out the revolver I fire three times into the first Creep. Two shots hit it's side while the third strikes the knee causing it to fold into itself tripping. The other Creep jumps over it's fallen ally but I fire the last four shots into it's unprotected underside. As it starts to disappear into smoke I rush forward and jab my sword into the fallen Creep.

" Eve, is there away to minimize my status screen so I only know the XP I need," I ask as the HUD becomes the standard red ,green, white, and blue bars for health, defense, Aura and mana.

"Thank you," I say walking forward and finding a security gate with a green box. Placing the green card inside the gate opens and I step into a locker room. Inside is a larger creep that seems to have more armor.

Alpha Creep lv6

The Creep roars and charges at me with a small sheen on it's skull plate. I dodge quickly and as I do it crashes into the gate bending the gate. It shakes its head and roars. I quickly reload the revolver keeping the empty shell casings. As I snap the barrel shut and dodge a ramming attack once again. I fire two shots into it's Left leg and another shot into its side. It stagers slightly and limps slightly as it charges, this time slower, again. I unsheathe crocera mors and slam the shield into it's face as a spiral symbol appears above its head. I take this chance and slam the sword into its throat. It gurgles as I push the blade forward and the tip comes out of its head.

Alpha Creep lv6 defeated: +120 XP, alpha Creep skull fragment, roar skill gem.

- Roar skill gem: a skill gem that grants the roar skill. Fire arms gain +20 DMG.

I take out the gem and my revolver and a craft screen appears. I click Craft and the gem dissolves infusing into the revolver.

I sheath my sword and started checking out the lockers. All were unlocked and mostly just clothes inside, and some lien.

Walking further into the locker room I use the key card to open another door and find a small armory. Searching through the armory I gain.

I place the second revolver into my inventory and the ammunition. Observing the training shotgun I gain another level.

Observe lv2: obtains basic information HP, MP, DP. Description.

Equipping the shotgun in my last weapon slot. As I pull up my inventory.

Looking at the two skill books I pull them out of my inventory and use them.

Eve: skills gained

Skill: Mana manipulation (active)lv1: the ability to manipulate mana and infusing it into the body or weapon. For every 1 mana point spent +1 DMG to weapon. Or +5 DP in armor

Skill: Massage (active) lv1: a healing technique for your partner(s) infusing Aura into your massage gives Aura users x5 benefits.

I walk back to the main room and pick the right mineshaft now. Walking down the shaft and finding another six fire dust stones I come up on an elevator with three different buttons. I enter and press the B2F. I feel the elevator shudder and descend further into the mine.
