RWBY: I Need to Cheat on My Girlfriend

Chapter 32: White Bitch part 2

[Forest behind the Xiao Long family cabin]

Ruby walks through the forest with determination, pushing her way between the trees. When she reaches a clearing surrounded by tall trunks, she stops. Without hesitation, she pulls a map from her cloak and marks another section with an "X." So focused on her task, she doesn't notice Yang quietly approaching from behind.

Yang stops a few meters away, silently observing her. She sighs inwardly, resigned to the fact that Ruby doesn't seem to notice her presence. After a few seconds, she decides to break the silence.

"I think it's time to give up," she finally says.

Ruby startles and spins around, clearly surprised. Yang looks at her with a mix of frustration and concern. Ruby's exhaustion is evident: her hair is disheveled, her clothes dirty, and her face betrays accumulated fatigue.

It takes Ruby a moment to react, but when she does, her response is immediate.

"No!" she exclaims, raising her voice. She holds the map with both hands and shakes it in front of Yang. "Look!" she adds, pointing at the unmarked areas with her finger. "I'm almost done checking everything. I'm not stopping now."

Yang steps closer, frowning. Her tone is firm as she replies, "Ruby, it's been nearly two weeks. You spend more time out here than at home. How much longer are you going to keep this up? This doesn't make any sense."

Ruby lowers her gaze, staying silent for a moment. Her lips tremble slightly, but her voice remains steady as she replies, "I can't give up now," she murmurs, clutching the map tightly. She looks up at Yang, her resolve hardening. "I know she's around here. She has to be in one of these areas."

Yang watches her silently, letting her words sink in. After a few moments, she sighs in frustration. Her tone softens, though it's still laden with concern.

"Ruby, it's time to face reality," she says carefully. "Daniel's been trying to reach you. It's time you told him the truth."

Ruby frowns, looks away, and shakes her head. "No, I can't do that," she replies through gritted teeth, clutching the map against her chest. "I know I can find her. I just need a little more time…"

Yang doesn't press further. Instead, she pulls out her own scroll and unrolls it in front of Ruby, revealing a long list of unread messages.

"You can't keep ignoring his messages," she says, pointing at the scroll filled with thirty messages from Daniel.

Ruby leans back against a tree, her body visibly drained. She slowly slides down until she's sitting on the ground, her shoulders slumped. A heavy sigh escapes her lips as she stares blankly into the distance.

"I don't know what to do..." Ruby murmurs, her voice cracked, laden with frustration and sadness.

Yang watches her sister in silence. A pang of guilt pierces her chest as she takes in Ruby's state, and she can't help but feel partly responsible. Still, she has no idea how to help her. She cautiously sits down beside Ruby on the ground, saying nothing at first.

After a long silence, Yang finally turns to Ruby and breaks the moment with a question. "Why don't you make a replica of the weapon?" she suggests, trying to offer a solution.

Ruby doesn't look at her. Instead, she lowers her head even more, as if Yang's words weigh heavily on her. "I can't..." she replies quietly, her tone defeated.

Yang frowns, puzzled. The idea that Ruby can't build a weapon seems hard to believe. "Why not?" she asks, her voice tinged with disbelief. "It doesn't seem that difficult."

Ruby finally lifts her gaze, her eyes reflecting a mix of defeat and sorrow.

"I can't make another one because... because I don't know what material it was made from," she admits in a whisper. "It was a strange material... soft to the touch, but incredibly strong. I don't know what it was. And even if I tried to replicate it... I couldn't match its durability."

Yang pauses for a moment, her mind working quickly. "Mmmm, why does it have to be made of the same material?" she asks, not taking her eyes off Ruby. An idea begins to form slowly in her head.

Ruby looks at her, frowning in confusion. "What are you saying?" she asks, trying to understand where Yang is going with this.

Yang smiles when she notices her sister's confusion and quickly moves to explain her point. "Hear me out. Aiden's rapier... it's a relic, right?" Ruby nods, still not understanding.

"And Daniel's not a hunter, is he?" Yang continues.

Ruby nods again, her confusion growing.

Yang leans slightly forward, her voice dropping to a quiet, confident tone. "So, how do you know he'll even realize it's not the same weapon? It's not like he's going to use it to fight Grimm or bandits. It's a relic. God knows how long that thing has been gathering dust. He probably just wanted a nice handle to hang on his wall."

Yang's words start to sink in. Ruby blinks, processing what she's just heard, and slowly, her eyes light up. A spark of hope appears on her face.

"Yang!" Ruby exclaims as she jumps to her feet. "You're a genius!" Without wasting another second, Ruby turns and races toward the cabin, full of renewed energy and determination.

Yang watches her sister disappear into the trees with a speed she hadn't shown in days. Finally, she sighs and lies back, resting on the grass.

"Ah..." she murmurs, as if regretting her words a little. "Maybe I shouldn't have said anything," Yang murmurs to herself, but she couldn't keep watching her sister self-destruct in the search for that damn rapier.

[Bullhead]

"And like I was saying..." Daniel starts, taking a bite of his candy while grinning confidently at Weiss. "I have the best rapier in the world. It's indestructible."

Weiss, who has been listening patiently, sighs for the fifth time since he began speaking. Her look says it all: she's not impressed. "There's no such thing as indestructible weapons, idiot," she responds curtly, clearly annoyed.

"Of course there is," Daniel insists, not losing his grin. "And mine is, unlike that little thing you've got there." With a casual gesture, he points to the rapier hanging from Weiss's belt.

Weiss shoots him a glare, her fingers tightening around her weapon. "'Little thing,'" she repeats, incredulously. She lifts her rapier, Myrtenaster, holding it with both hands. "This 'little thing' is worth more than everything you'll ever make in your life." Her tone is dismissive. "It's made with the best technology Atlas has to offer. This is the best rapier you'll see in your miserable existence."

Daniel stares at the weapon, tilting his head slightly, as if evaluating it. "It's pretty," he admits after a moment, shrugging. "I think mine's probably made of plastic and some steel." Then, he takes another bite of his candy.

Weiss's face hardens, a vein in her temple threatening to pop. "I doubt something like that could be considered indestructible," she snaps coldly, trying to keep her composure. "Aren't you tired of spouting nonsense?"

Daniel looks at her for a moment, as if truly considering the question. Without saying anything, he pulls a water bottle from his bag and holds it up theatrically. "Look, inside this bottle is magic berry juice that can heal any wound." He pauses, waiting for a reaction, but none comes. "At my house, I have blueprints for advanced equipment that could revolutionize the hunter world."

Weiss crosses her arms but says nothing. The silence doesn't deter Daniel, who continues with the same enthusiasm. "I also have a magic wand created by Death herself, kept in my drawer. Plus, I can destroy hordes of Grimm with just my eyes." He takes a deep breath for his big finish. "And I have a cookie that, if you bite it, teleports you to the top of a frozen mountain!"

Weiss looks at him, her face expressionless, maybe a little bored. "Are you done?" she asks, trying to keep her tone neutral, but she can't hide her annoyance.

"Oh, and the shrimp next to me is my personal trainer," Daniel says, pointing to Aegis, who is comfortably tucked away in his bag.

Weiss sighs, clearly irritated, and reaches for one of Daniel's candies. Slap! A hand smacks hers, stopping her in her tracks.

"Ouch," she says, quickly pulling her hand back and rubbing it, a bit annoyed. "Aren't you ashamed? You're the heir to the biggest company in Remnant, and yet you have to steal my food? Go get your own!" she shouts, upset.

"I can't," Weiss replies, crossing her arms with a frustrated expression. "You took them all!"

"Hehe, yeah, I know," Daniel responds calmly, savoring another candy and then giving one to Aegis.

"Why are you giving one to him? He's not even going to eat it!" Weiss says, now clearly outraged.

"He doesn't eat them, but he likes the smell," Daniel replies with a mocking smile, shrugging.

Weiss grips the sides of her seat as if she's about to rip them off, but she stops herself. She takes a deep breath, regains control, and finally asks, somewhat tired, "Are you going to tell me how you got here?"

"I told you," Daniel responds, not in a hurry. "I bought a ticket."

Weiss frowns, looking at Daniel as if he just told the biggest lie of the century. "You're lying," she says, her voice full of distrust.

"You're right," Daniel replies as though confessing something trivial. "I slept with the pilot."

Weiss freezes, processing what she just heard. "Did you seriously...?" she murmurs, almost unable to believe what just came out of his mouth.

"No," Daniel responds with a mocking tone. "Are you an idiot? The pilot doesn't have that kind of power."

"Then why did you tell me that?!" Weiss shouts, fed up with all the nonsensical lies.

"Because you didn't believe the truth," Daniel responds indifferently.

Weiss is about to yell something else, but she stops dead when she notices the mantis shrimp making strange noises.

"What's wrong with it?" Weiss asks, now visibly worried about the creature, which seems agitated. Her expression softens slightly as she watches Aegis. "I'm pretty sure this creature is aquatic... why is it out of the water?"

"Aha, aha, aha," Daniel says, leaning his head closer to the shrimp, nodding along to the noises it makes. "Aegis says you're a noisy bitch." He pauses for a moment to listen more. "Aha, aha, aha. And if you don't shut up, he'll throw you out the window." The creature stops making noises, but Daniel keeps nodding, as if listening carefully. "Aj, aj, he also says you fuck badly."

Weiss stands up from her seat, places her hands on either side of Daniel's seat, and glares at him with fury. "IF YOU DON'T SHUT UP, THE ONE WHO'LL BE THROWN OUT OF THE BULLHEAD WILL BE YOU!"

Her threats are cut off when she hears a voice.

"Miss," says a calm yet firm voice. A woman, likely a hunter from the Bullhead assigned to ensure the safety of all these rich people. "I'm going to have to ask you to step away from the young man," the hunter says with authority.

"B-but he...!" Weiss tries to argue, but the hunter's voice becomes more commanding. "MISS! Don't make me repeat myself. Step away from the young man."

With a frustrated sigh, Weiss returns to her seat, glaring at Daniel with barely contained rage.

The hunter, unfazed, turns to him. "Are you alright?" she asks, observing Daniel, who, without warning, lunges at her and hugs her.

"I was so scared!" Daniel says, clinging to the hunter as if she were his salvation. The hunter pats him lightly on the back, trying to calm him down.

"Okay, okay, it's fine," she says softly, though Daniel doesn't let go.

"No, seriously, thank you. I don't know what I would have done without you. A strong and attractive hunter like you..." Daniel murmurs, rubbing the hunter's back while looking at her with a mischievous grin.

Weiss, watching the whole scene, puts her hands to her face, unable to believe what she's witnessing. "This can't be happening..." she murmurs, in disbelief.

"I-I... Cough... It's nothing, it's my job," the hunter replies, trying to keep calm.

Daniel looks up and responds, "If your job is to escort all these rich people, I guess you must be a pretty strong hunter, huh?"

The hunter smiles slightly, though she looks a little embarrassed. "Well, I don't like to brag, but yes, I'm pretty strong."

Weiss, furious, tries to say something but is interrupted by the hunter. "MISS! DO NOT INTERRUPT ME WHILE I'M WRITING THE STATEMENT!" she yells, her tone full of authority.

Weiss growls in anger as Daniel continues clinging to the hunter. "Thanks, she's treated me like this the whole flight..." Then, with a mischievous grin, he adds, "By the way, a strong hunter like you should have an awesome semblance, right?"

The hunter pauses for a moment, reluctant to answer. "W-well, no, actually, I don't know what my semblance is," she responds, a bit nervously.

"Ah, that's a shame," Daniel says, returning to his seat.

"Wait!!" says the hunter, apparently worried because she thought the deal was closed. "I know a safer place if you need to get away from the punk," she says, pointing at Weiss.

"Don't worry, I'm sure she won't bother me again," Daniel replies calmly. The hunter, frustrated, curses herself quietly for not being able to activate her semblance earlier.

After the huntress left, Weiss and Daniel remained silent for a while, until finally Weiss gathered the courage to speak.

"Why do you hate me?" Weiss asked, looking at Daniel with a cold stare, no longer filled with the anger that had accompanied her earlier.

Daniel stared at her. "I don't hate you," he responded in a calm tone.

"Then why do you treat me like this? Why all the humiliation?" Weiss asked, confused by his attitude.

Daniel thought for a moment before answering. "Maybe I like to annoy you. Maybe I'm an asshole. Maybe it's my revenge for you not calling me after that passionate night... I don't know, you decide. Any of those are valid."

Weiss looked at him, completely stunned. "Call you? Why the hell would I call you after you destroyed my image?!" Weiss growled, completely incredulous at his audacity.

"Me destroy your image?!" Daniel looked at her, shocked. "You destroyed it yourself when you acted like a bitch!" he yelled, anger clear in his voice. "You were standing there like an IDIOT!" Weiss shot back, remembering their first altercation.

Daniel also recalled that day and thought of something that had really pissed her off. "Steward!" Daniel shouted, interrupting the confrontation. Within seconds, a steward appeared quickly, visibly frightened. "What's wrong?" the employee asked, alarmed.

"Go fuck yourself, please!" Daniel said, without looking at him.

The steward frowned, clearly offended. "You can't treat me like that..." he began to say, but fell silent when he saw the wad of cash Daniel offered him.

"Of course, sir," said the steward, bowing before leaving.

"You! YOU TREAT PEOPLE LIKE GARBAGE! YOU'RE AN ANIMAL! YOU'RE A VULGAR! DESPICABLE!" Weiss began shouting, no longer caring who could hear her.

Daniel didn't flinch. "SAYS THE HYPOCRITE WHO COULDN'T APOLOGIZE!"

"I ALREADY APOLOGIZED!" Weiss screamed, furious.

"THEN I DON'T REMEMBER!" Daniel shot back, unfazed.

"PEASANT!"

"IGNORANT!"

"ICE CUBE WITH LEGS!"

"INSUPPORTABLE!"

"ARROGANT!"

"DISGUSTING!"

"DADDY'S GIRL!"

Weiss glared at him, furious. She could accept many things, but "daddy's girl" was not one of them. For the first time, she decided to use a real curse word. "FUCK YOU!"

Daniel met her gaze, just as defiant. "NO, YOU, FUCK ME!"

...

...

[5 minutes later]

In the Bullhead's bathroom, a tiny space, Weiss and Daniel were kissing intensely, slamming their bodies against the walls as they exchanged a few insults between gasps, not stopping for even a moment.

Author's note: I think Weiss has issues, something like this [Image].

Anyway, I hoped I'd be at the top of the tower by now, but oh well, I write what comes to mind. I don't ask for power stones, I don't even remember giving myself one, but Prototype and Contributed have given me many... I don't know what to say to that, but thank you. Also, Prototype has never left a comment, that's even crazier! If you're reading this, I love you. ❤️

Kisses and hugs
