Chapter 64: 7-8

Chapter 7

Peter winces slightly as he gingerly steps down the stairs of UA. For the most part he's healed form his injuries thanks to his healing factor and Recovery Girl's quirk, but that hasn't taken away the full body soreness he's still experiencing. He takes the last step and practically drops down to the ground and kisses the floor now that he doesn't have to deal with anymore stairs! He takes a moment to sit down on one of the steps to give him a little more of a breather, thankfully school has been canceled for the next 4 days to provide the students time to heal and process the traumatic experience… and to give UA a chance to handle the media, who've smelt blood in the water and are practically swarming the school grounds like sharks. Bunch of assholes! Can't we just get a moment of peace!? He shakes his head and suddenly remembers the small conversation he had with Momo before she left ahead of him.

(Flashback)

"Parker-san, may I ask a question?"

"Uh Sure?"

She bites her lip, "Back in USJ, you said you can't let anyone else die again… What do you mean by that?"

His heartrate quickens as he remembers the slip of tongue he had during the heat of battle. Shit I forgot I said that in front of her! He stammers trying to find the right words but nothings coming out. "Mo—Uhh Yaoyorozu… kun? It was just a fib, some crazy talk I had because of the stress-"

"Parker-kun. I don't mean to brag but I'm an intelligent person, my quirk demands me to be so. I know the molecular composition needed to create a MOAB. It's very hard to insult my intelligence but you came very close to it just now."

He bows his head in shame, "I'm sorry. Look it's just that, a lot happened before I got to UA. I have this quirk this power and I can do a lot, but I chose not to. And someone I loved dearly paid the price for my inaction. I-" he takes a shuddering breath, his hands momentarily look stained with Uncle Ben's blood. "I'm… I'm not ready to go into all that right now." He admits.

Momo tentatively reaches out and warmly grasps his hand. He flinches slightly but holds hers as well. He's able to keep the blush from becoming prominent as he notices the apologetic expression she's giving him, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to stir up bad memories. I shouldn't have tried pushing you into revealing something so personal, especially with us barely even knowing each other."

He smiles and squeezes her hand comfortingly, "it's ok. But if it's all the same to you, I'd like to get to know you more… P-platonically I mean! I'm not trying to ask you out or anything! N-Not that there's no reason to ask you out! I-I mean!—"

Her laughter keeps him from making a bigger fool of himself and he can't help but join in. Yea I really was being ridiculous wasn't I? She offers him her hand, "Alright then, Friends?"

He shakes her hand with a grin, "Friends!"

(Flashback ends)

He runs a hand through his hair, guess the silver lining is that I made a new friend! But I wonder how long that'll last if she or anyone else really for that matter found out how I caused Uncle Ben's death. Would they look at me the same knowing how my selfishness lead to tragedy? Come on Peter don't think about that now! Just take things day by day!... yea right, like as if my neurotic ass ever stops from over thinking.

He walks himself to the entrance and is caught in a tight embrace by his Aunt May, "Oh Peter! Oh thank god you're alright!"

She pulls back from the hug and grasps his shoulders tightly as she frantically searches his body for more injuries, "Are you alright!? Does anything still hurt!? Is anything still broken!?"

"Aunt May! Hey! Look at me!" he says with a smile, "I'm ok, a little bruised but ok!"

Tears fall down as she pulls him into another embrace. "Let's go home ok?"

"Sounds perfect to me Aunt May." He replies, voice tired.

The two enter the car and drive home, no words are spoken, but Aunt May kept her hand on his, afraid that he'd disappear if she let go. After a few uncomfortable minutes, they arrive at their apartment, with aunt May turning off the car but she makes no moves to leave. Peter looks at her questioningly, "Uhhh May? Are you ok?"

She's staring forward, "Peter do you know the extent of you injuries?"

He shakes his head no. she closes her eyes and a single tear falls. "You had a fractured arm, 5 broken ribs, with one puncturing your lung, a cracked skull, 3rd degree burns along your legs and torso and a detached retina. Peter when they told me all of that I thought you'd die!" she drops her head to the wheel of the car crying.

Peter pulls her into a tight hug, he himself crying, his heart breaking as he sees the worry he has put his aunt in. "I'm sorry aunt May! I-I was just trying to help!"

"I know you were and I'm so proud of you for doing that but Peter… all I could think about is how I just lost your uncle and I can't lose you too!" she whimpers.

"You wont! I promise you! You won't ever lose me!"

She sniffles as they finally break out of the embrace and she takes a tissue out the glove compartment, dabbing her eyes. "Peter I just need to ask, are you sure that this is what you want? I'll support you either way, but… I need to know, is all this worth it to you?"

Peter takes a moment to really ask himself that question. To be honest, yes he has always idolized Ironman, but it's not just because he's a superhero, but because of his intellect. Peter had always felt like he could relate to Tony Stark because of their intelligence and love of science. He's always dreamed of helping people through research in whatever field he chose to be in. He had long accepted his quirklessness, so being a pro hero was never on his mind. Until that damn spider bite. Yes he has been thrust into this new path in life, but as much as he wants to say that he was forced to, he can't blame anyone but himself. His choices led him here. All because he didn't fully understand what Uncle Ben was trying to tell him. "It's not exactly how I had imagined it, but helping people, that's always been my dream. This is another way for me to do it. Even if I didn't want to be a pro hero, I've been given this power. And I think I finally understand what Uncle Ben tried to tell me… That with great power—"

"Comes great responsibility." She finishes with a watery smile. "He and your father lived by that principle all their lives."

He smiles, "And now so will I. so yes Aunt May, this is all worth it to me."

She pulls his head and plants a motherly kiss on his forehead, "You won't be doing it alone. I'm gonna worry no doubt, but I'll be strong, as long as you are too!"

"I promise!"

"Good now let's head in, I'm betting your hungry."

They exit the car and head into their home when Peter's phone goes off, "Hello?"

"KID! OH MY GOD THANK YOU! YOU'RE OK!"

He cringes and holds the phone away form his ear for a second, "Mr Stark? You're calling me?"

"Well of course I'm calling you! I find out you nearly died trying to fight some rage monster! What the hell were you thinking!?"

"I had to do something! We were attacked! If I hadn't of acted then people could've died!"

"And you could've died fighting it! You almost did!"

"But I'm alive and well right now aren't I?"

He hears a sigh, "Quit being a smartass kid. I was worried alright?"

The inner fanboy in Peter screams and hops around inside as he hears that the man he's looked up to all his life was worried about little old him! "M-Mr Stark there's no need—"

"Yes there is! I promised I'd watch over you two and I've done a pretty bang up job of it."

"No come on Mr Stark you've done more for us than we deserve!"

"Don't sell yourself short Pete and definitely don't sell that aunt of yours short either! She deserves the world!"

He smiles, "Yea she does."

"Kid, look From here on out, I'm gonna make some time to see you personally from now on, no if ands or buts about it! I need to make sure myself that you're ok."

"Oh uh, t-thank you Mr Stark!"

"Don't mention it kid. And you know what? I hear they're gonna debate whether or not to keep the sports festival going. If they do, you bet your ass I'll be in there watching it myself!"

"Really Mr Stark!?"

"Of course! I wouldn't miss you announcing your presence to the entire world and thousands of people in the stadium!"

Peter begins to pale, "T-thousands of p-people? The e-entire w-world!?"

"Yea! No pressure though, with how natural a talent you have to this, I'm sure everyone will be impressed! Hey listen kid I gotta go but I'll stop by tomorrow ok?"

"y-yea." He hears the call end and he drops the phone. Later on he'll be thankful that this was the first phone he could afford to have a case on since the screen was the only thing that cracked on impact.

"I gotta be in front of thousands of people… I-I think I'd rather fight Nomu again!"

5 days later

Dr Miles Warren and Dr Stromm both exit the elevator that takes them to the sublevels of Oscorp. It doesn't take them long before they find Norman Osborn in front of some machinery that seems to be extracting a green fluid from blood. Dr Warren raises an eyebrow, "I assume you haven't slept for a few nights?"

"I can't afford to sleep when I am in the precipice of greatness." Osborn responds as he takes a vial of green liquid from the machine and takes an unused blood sample out as well. He lifts the green liquid in the air with a smile.

"Gentlemen, we may very well hold in our hands the key to controlling human evolution itself! And by we, I mean me."

Dr Warren grins, his eyes shows the eagerness to take this next step while Dr Stromm. Didn't share the same enthusiasm. "Sir, I feel like I must ask, are you sure that it's a good idea to proceed with this? This project was shut down years ago because of the high mortality rate it had, less than 1% of any subject injected with the formula survived and the ones who did were driven mad and had to be euthanized!"

"But Parker didn't! he's now thriving on the other side of the world with no ill effects whatsoever!"

"That we know of!" Dr Stromm retorts.

Warren shakes his head, "Come now Doctor, we are men of science. We built our careers by taking risks!"

"But don't you see that this may be too big a risk to take?"

He simply shrugs, "fortune favors the bold."

Norman smirks, "You took the words right out of my mouth Dr Warren. And since I see I can rely on you, I'll need you to use your expertise in cloning to create more samples of our subjects blood." He hands him the vial.

"You want me to clone him?"

"Heavens no! I can't risk the only sample we'll get in a while to create imperfect monstrosities. No I just need you to create a large reserve for us to use for further experimentation."

He nods but warns, "Understood, but I must warn you, it won't come out as pure as the source. The more artificial copies of his blood I make, the more corrupted it'll become."

"It's a good thing we have no shortage of disposable volunteers right?"

"Right you are."

And warren then leaves. Dr Stromm shakes his head but his eyes widen when he sees Norman take off his shirt and fill the green liquid in a container in a small dispersal unit. "What're you doing?!"

"What does it look like? We need to see if the formula will work on anyone else!"

"You're planning to expose yourself with it?! Didn't you hear me before! Everyone we've injected the formula with has died!"

"Yes injected! But I've studied this for years Dr Stromm, if applied in aerosolized form in small doses over time, the subject has more a chance to survive. And that is what I'm planning on doing!"

"But Dr Osborn—"

Norman grabs him by the collar threateningly, "Enough! I've already studied the formula enough and added new components to the molecular structure so that it'll bond to my DNA more efficiently. All the numbers are crunched and all the variables considered. Now I'm going to strap myself in and place my name in history. Now the question is Doctor, will your name be there beside mine? Or will I have to terminate your employment here?"

Dr Stromm gulps before shaking his head meekly, "Good. Now that you're here, I am in need of your assistance." He releases him, "Get me the promachloraperazine."

He does so but asks, "For what?"

Osborn lays in the table he's to be strapped to, "It begins catalyzation when the vapor it's the blood stream."

He hands it to him and Norman looks at the bottle ruefully, "forty thousand years of evolution and we've barely even tapped the vastness of human potential until today." He chugs the contents of the bottle before smashing it to the ground and ordering Stromm to strap him in and begin the process.

The doors close as Stromm exits the unit after securing Norman. He gets to the computer and begins the process to disperse the vapor. Norman watches as the vapor begins descending around him. He grins in anticipation, savoring each deep breath he takes, looking forward to his destiny. Stromm watches as the gas fills the unit until it obscures his view of Norman. He checks the computer and sees that the reserve has been depleted and that Normans heart rate, though rising, is still steady. Time passes then suddenly something happens. An alert pings his monitor as it shows Norman's blood pressure skyrocket and his heart rate drop and rise dramatically. Frantic he looks into the unit and as the gas begins to disperse, he sees Norman seizing and screaming. "Norman! Oh god Norman!"

He presses the emergency shut down and The doors to the unit open. Stromm pants but covers his mouth using his lab coat and waits until he gas is completely gone before entering the unit. His hands hover over Osborn but he doesn't touch him as he's still seizing but he suddenly stops. He hears the flatline and sees that there's no heart rhythm! "OH GOD NORMAN!"

He releases him from the straps and places him on the floor and begins CPR. He keeps checking his pulse but there's still no response. He's still frantic, hoping that he hasn't just watched Norman die. Sure he could be a bastard but no one deserves to die! He keeps screaming for Norman to wake up when he suddenly hears the computer pick up on his heart beat again. He smiles in relief but that smile becomes a look of dread as powerful hand latches onto his throat, already crushing his trachea. His eyes widen as he sees the crazed glare Norman is giving him, his skin becoming green and scaly, his nose elongating, and his eyes becoming a sickening Yellow. Norman stands on his feet, raising Stromm by the throat into the air like as if he weighs nothing. Norman looks at his scaly green hands then back at Stromm, "Disgusting."

He then throws Stromm with all his might across the room and into the wall, a sickening crack echoing as his head impacts the concrete. Norman exits the unit and revels at the sheer power that now flows in his body. He turns and faces his reflection at a black screen, his face twisting into one of anger as he gingerly touches his deformed features. But then his skin begins to clear, returning to it's pale white and his eyes return to their natural color. He sees that his hands are now human again. Confused he focuses his mind and his left hand becomes green and scaly once again. He takes a moment and it reverts back to normal. Norman looks at his own eyes in his reflection and his eyes become a sickening yellow once again. His frown starts to upturn as a small chuckle escapes his lips. His smile becomes a wide toothy grin and his chuckle becomes a high pitched maniacal and insane laugh, a screeching sound that could even make the walls quiver. This was the night that the Green Goblin was born.

Chapter 8

"Everyone Settle down! Class is about to begin!" Iida announces as he chops in the air.

The class, not wanting Iida to continue fussing, does as they're told while some are slower than others.

"Bakugo! You must sit down in your seat as a show of respect to our teacher!"

"Don't tell me what to do four eyes! Besides Aizawa isn't gonna be here he's still in the hospital so we probably got a substitute today." Bakugo sits in his chair and props his feet up on the desk much to the Class Reps annoyance.

"Even if it's a substitute we should treat all of the faculty with equal amounts of respect and take your feet off the desk it's unbecoming of a student of UA!—what're you doing?"

The pair both stare at Peter who's crouched next to Iida holding a protractor at his elbow. Peter has a face of focus as he explains,

"I suspected but it bothered me so much I had to make sure."

"What?" Iida asks, worried about what Peter may have noticed, a flaw perhaps?

Peter rubs his chin dumbfounded, "Somehow when you chop at the air your arms form a perfect 90 degree angle. And it's every time! How is that even possible!? You were never off at all not even at the smallest degree!"

The whole class can't help but wonder what in the hell is wrong with Peter. All of Iida's frustration disappeared and even Bakugo can't muster up any anger just confusion. Peter finally realizes the awkward atmosphere and quietly returns to his seat feeling slightly embarrassed. Momo leans towards him, "You know, I hate to admit it, but I have been curious about that as well."

"So you left me to take the embarrassment of actually figuring it out huh? Is this behavior befitting a class rep?"

"It is my duty to take make tough decisions."

They lock eyes for a second before sharing a laugh. Finally everyone begins to chat once again. A few days have passed since the USJ attack and though the event had certainly left its mark, our heroes are in much better spirits now, knowing that they have come out of such a frightening experience alive and dare they say, stronger. It also has strengthen the bond between the classmates, allowing friendships to develop and prosper. Even Bakugo won't admit it but he's developed a bit of a soft spot for Kirishima, or at least, he yells at him the least in the class.

Hagakure bumps her elbow to Ojiro, "hey did you watch the news last night?" he nods, "you saw how the whole class was on-screen?!" she sighs, "I didn't stand out at all…"

Even though she was invisible, Ojiro could tell that she was bpretty bummed out by that, "I-it's hard to stand out like that though?" his failed attempt at making her feel better was received poorly.

Thankfully Kaminari butts in, "But man, all the channels made a big deal out of it! I couldn't believe it!"

"Why? I mean the hero course that keeps pumping out pro heroes was attacked!" jiro explains.

Sero shakes his head, "Who knows what would've happened if the teachers hadn't come when they did." He shivers involuntarily.

Iida stands up, "Despite that I as the class rep would like to say how proud I am of all of you! Each and everyone of you stepped up and rose to the occasion! You all truly acted as heroes worthy to walk the halls of UA!"

Uraraka agrees, "Yeah! Especially you Deku-kun!"

Said greenette instantly becomes redder than a tomato at the smiling girls close proximity, "W-well it wasn't just me!"

Tsuyu puts a finger on her chin, "That's right, Parker was the first of us to move and did a pretty good job of it before we were separated. But I'll admit the two of you had me worried when you faced the Nomu by yourselves."

"You kidding me?! I couldn't believe how you kicked that things ass! You were like a tag team power house it was so manly!" Kirishima's fist shakes from the excitement.

Bakugo scoffs, "They were the ones getting their asses kicked."

Peter raises an eyebrow, "Remind me again who's life threatening hit I had to take cause his head was so far up his own ass he couldn't see a gigantic black fist racing to his face?"

Explosions dances over Bakugo's hands as he instantly jumps to his feet, "WHAT'D YOU SAY YOU BASTARD?!"

Kirishima calms him down while Momo comments, "Speaking of you really did have me—all of us scared when you took that hit. The way your body flew through the air almost looked like you died."

The somber expression she wore was matched by the whole class and Pter feels bad for how much he made everyone worry, "Come on guys, I'm alright though! Plus it takes a lot more than an overpowered punch to put me down… even though it still hurts." He rubs his chest absentmindedly.

"Besides, you guys are my classmates, and if there's anything I can do to help I'll do it… even if it's Bakugo."

"Like I need your help Gaijin!"

Mina gets everyones attention, "We're more than that now Parker! I think it's safe to say we can call each others friends at this point right?"

Everyone gives him sounds of agreement, "And since we're friends we should have happy memories together and not just dark and gloomy ones, so since tomorrows Saturday, why don't we all hang out and have a beach day! I heard Dagobah Beach is open to the public again!"

Mineta jumps onto his seat with blood pouring out his nose, "I SECOND THE NOTION!"

"You're not invited."

He falls to the ground in despair, "Why is the universe so cruel?!"

Some agree to it, "I think it's a great idea don't you Deku?"

He gives Uraraka a nervous smile while nodding , "she's so close!".

Others though couldn't make it.

"Wish I could but my parents are still feeling nervous about me going out so soon after the attack so going to the beach is out of the question for me at least for now." Sero explains.

"No." Todoroki says, much to some of the girls dismay.

"Like I need to spend any more time than I need to with you extras!"

"Oh no! That's so unfortunate how will we get along without you." Sarcasm drips from Peter's every word and Bakugo growls in anger.

"Going to the beach always makes for wonderful memories! Reminds me that it's been a while since I've gone to my family's private beach in Italy." Momo comments.

Peter and Uraraka's eyes nearly pop out their heads as they ask in unison, "You have a private beach?!"

Momo gets flustered, "I uh yes my family owns several."

Uraraka falls back, "So rich!"

Peter whistles impressed, "And I'm still here dumpster diving for spare parts."

His classmate bowed her head in shame for a second before popping up again, "Wait… are you saying that you've used spare parts at random to make some of your equipment?"

"Uhhh yea, my web shooters were made from stuff I found in… the dumpster." Peter doesn't meet anyones eyes as he hears their strangled chuckles.

"That aside, it's actually really impressive! I could've swore you made it in support department!" Momo exclaims.

He shrugs, "well you know the old saying, one man's trash is another mans treasure!"

Momo smiles warmly, "You're a very interesting person Parker-kun."

He brands a goofy smile when Mina slides up to Momo with a mischievous look, "say Yaomomo, any chance of us taking a look at those private beaches you own?"

As the class continue to talk about the excitement of the following days events, the conversation steers back to USJ, or more specifically, about their Homeroom teachers state after the attack. "I wonder who's gonna teach homeroom?" Mina asks Tsu.

"Well, Mr Aizawa is supposed to be in the hospital recovering from his injuries—"

The doors slide open to reveal… Mr Aizawa wrapped head to toe in bandages, giving a good impression of a mummy. "Morning."

The entire class screams, "Mr Aizawa you're back too soon!"

Even Kaminari is disturbed, "You're too much of a pro!"

"Gonna be pretty hypocritical from now on whenever he calls out Midoriya on pulling stunts while injured." Peter notes.

"Hey!"

He shrugs, "Just saying!"

Iida raises his hand, "Sensei, are you alright?"

Uraraka, seeing Aizawa limp, can't help but say, "Can that even be considered ok?"

He squashes their worry though, "My wellbeing is not important. Right now the fight isn't over yet…"

Class 1A all hold their breath in trepidation, "… The UA sports festival is drawing near."

They all scream in relief, "That's a normal school event!"

Peter raises his hand, "Are you ever gonna stop leaving us in suspense like that?!"

"I have no idea what you're talking about."

Peter rolls his eyes, "Of course you don't."

Jiro raises her hand this time, "Is it really okay to have a sports festival so soon after the villains snuck inside?" a question hat is on many of the students mind.

"Apparently, the staff thinks that keeping the Sports Festival ongoing will show that UA's crisis management system is solid as a rock. Still Security will be strengthened fivefold over previous years just in case." He assures them.

"Above all our sports festival is a huge chance."

This triggers a memory of Peter's prior conversation with Tony Stark; I wouldn't miss you announcing your presence to the entire world and thousands of people in the stadium!"

Peter begins to pale, "T-thousands of p-people? The e-entire w-world!?"

Momo hears his whisper and notices how pale he's gotten, "Are you ok?"

"Huh? Oh yea sure! Just peachy!" he gives a pretty cringeworthy smile that only causes her to raise an expectant eyebrow.

He sighs, "Just still wrapping my head around having so many people watch us."

She nods, "You're right. Many people including pro heroes and their agencies. This'll be the time show them why I was enrolled through recommendations." Her voice turning determined.

Huh, I was honestly expecting words of encouragement, somewhat disappointed but I'll take the distraction! "Well here's to hoping I don't make a fool of myself."

Jiro leans back, "With the likes of Kaminari in our ranks, I think the chances of that will be slim."

"Hey!"

Support Department

"Heads up Parker!"

Peter simply moved his head slightly to evade a rogue mechanical ball that flies whizzes past his ear. He doesn't flinch or even look up from his work as it bounces off the walls continuously while Mei cackles in delight while trying to catch her 'baby'.

"Dangit Hatsume!" Power Loader barely saves the mech suit he's working on from being toppled, "You better not ruin any of my projects you here?!"

"HAHAHAHA Rest easy sensei, just look at my baby! It's practically reaching mach 1 and is still nimble enough to avoid damaging anything! I'm so proud of you!"

His spider sense flashes a moment and he lifts his hands just in time as the ball bounces off the work bench, leaving a dent in the tough metal. Alright this is where I draw the line.

Peter waits a second then sticks out his hand, catching the machine effortlessly.

Mei stops running and catches her breath, "Nice catch!"

"Thanks," he tosses it to her, "You mind me asking what is this and is it going to explode?"

She cackles and pats her creation affectionately, "This baby here is a mini third eye! Developing it in case any company wants a new surveillance device! And if it's gonna explode… guess we'll find that out ourselves!"

He shakes his head with a tiny smile, "I expect nothing less at this point."

"A wise way to live." Power loader comments and plops back onto his seat, massaging the tension headache away. "Honestly if your inventions weren't so destructive from the get go I'd be impressed by how quickly you could make them!"

"I'll take that compliment!" she coos at her invention, "You hear that baby? You're making mama look good I'm so proud of you!"

"Maybe momma should consider a child leash before her baby starts to make her look bad." Her classmate quips.

Mei just grins then looks at what Peter is working on and she gasps in horror, "Oh no! What happened to your costume!?"

She grabs it and lifts up the tattered remains, "I knew you should've let me work on this one power loader! I could've doubled the durability easily!"

"We didn't have the necessary funds to do so and you put yourself in a small coma at that time remember!?"

"Oh yea. Well if you need help let me know but I'm gonna continue developing more babies for the sports festival so byeeeeee!"

Say what? Parker turns to her, "You're participating in the sports festival too?"

"Of course! With so many companies watching the event it'll be the perfect moment for the Support Department to shine! I can't wait to show the world my babies!" her bullseye styled eyes momentarily become stars.

How did she do that? He shakes his head but his spider senses tingles slightly as he notices the grin forming on her face, "Whatever it is, No!"

"Oh come on you're already in our department you're the best suited to help me exhibit my babies!" she pouts but he's having none of it.

"And be your glorified walking advertisement tower?! I think not!"

She quickly grabs his mask, which is the only thing he's having any success in restoring and improving with his available materials, "What if I help you—whoa did you make some adjustments?!" she holds the mask inside out, marveling at the circuitry.

He yanks it out her hands, "Yea, I want to go a little further with my suit instead of it being just a cloth onsie."

"From the looks of it, I'd say you're trying to add a heads up display in the lenses… similar to a certain genius billionaire superhero we both admire." She teases with a smirk.

Peter blushes, "W-well I-I admire him and he's my favorite superhero!"

She laughs and smacks his back loudly, "Same! But if you're gonna do that, you're gonna have to change the lenses completely especially if you want it to do anything like zoom in or even change spectrums of vision."

"You're saying make the eyes expressive basically?"

She shrugs, "Whatever makes it work especially with how thin everything will be. Ironman's suit is larger than his body for obvious reasons so he can add much more to his suit since there's at least a 3 inch size difference, which allows him to have all his weapons and whatnot inside the suit."

"Which isn't a luxury I'll have since it'll make my suit to cumbersome for me. (sigh) who knew superheroing would be so hard to deal with!"

"I did! That's why I stick to support!"

"Really? You don't see yourself going pro at any point?"

She flips her goggles on and laughs loudly while she starts disassembling her creation, "Please, give me a lab over crime fighting any day! Besides I do my best work on a work bench, I'm not exactly the hero type!"

Peter leans forward thoughtfully, "That's exactly what Tony Stark said before he became Ironman."

She stops working and gazes at Peter expressionlessly. "Well I'm not Tony Stark am I?"

He raises his hands in peace, "Just saying! Anyone can be a hero!"

"But not everyone can be a good one."

"All a matter of perspective."

She sighs, "I think I liked it better when I was annoying you."

"Aha! I knew you were doing it on purpose!"

Power loader shakes his head affectionately, "kids."

"Izuku! Did you pack sunblock?" Inko calls out as Izuku fits his towel in a bag.

"Yes! And I got an extra change of clothes too!" he calls back as he ties his red sneaker laces.

His mom shakes her head affectionately, "My boy you're going to the beach why're you wearing your sneakers?"

He smiles sheepishly, "W-well I-I like them they're my f-favorite."

She just giggles and ruffles his hair, "I'm so happy you're going to spend time with your friends especially with what happened."

She softly bats her hand away from his head, "Mom we're ok remember?"

"Still if anything happens promise me you'll stay safe!" she says seriously.

He nods, "I promise!"

A knock is heard and they open the door to reveal Peter and May, Peter being the one in beach gear. He looks down at Izuku's feet.

"Dude why're you wearing your sneakers when we're going to the beach?"

He groans as Inko laughs into her hand, "That's what I said!"

Peter shakes head, "Come on Midoriya we're gonna be late, See ya Aunt May! Bye Mrs Midoriya!"

"You boys stay safe!" May calls back as the pair leave.

Aunt May opens her bag and takes out her favorite wine bottle, "I have the perfect relaxation medicine now that the boys are gone!"

Inko laughs and quickly gets two wine cups from the cupboard. As may opens the bottle and pours the contents Inko can't help but ask, "May, can I ask you something?"

She takes a sip of her wine, "Sure, fire away."

"Do… do you regret sending Peter to UA?"

She blinks, "What do you mean?"

Inko sighs heavily as she takes a seat, playing with the cup of wine in hand, "It's just, I want to support Izuku as he chases his dream I really do, but the attack at USJ, it made me realize just how dangerous this could be. And finding out how hurt he was when it happened—" her breath hitches as tears begin to pour from her eyes.

May comforting squeezes her hand, "Oh Inko, I'm not gonna lie to you, I get just as worried. And yes I won't pretend that I'm not terrified that Peter will end up like Ben."

Inko's eyes widen and she frantically backtracks, "I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to remind you of that please forgive me!"

May assures her, "it's fine. You don't need to apologize. (sigh) I won't say that I don't think of it often, or that I don't miss Ben terribly everyday. But Peter… he's so much like Ben. He cares about others freely and tries to do the right thing no matter what! Izuku is just like that too! I've known Ben and Peter long enough to know that stopping them from doing what they think is right… that'd be worse than killing them. And if Izuku is as alike to Peter as I believe he is, then the case is the same for him too. I my not like it, but this is who they are. What better way is there to live than to be true to ones self?"

Inko smiles tearfully, thinking about the smile Izuku wore when he realized he was enrolling in UA. A true and genuine smile, one he hasn't truly worn since he first saw his favorite All Might video. She laughs tearfully, "These kids are gonna be the death of us aren't they?"

May grins and holds up the bottle, "That's why I brought this!"

The two share a laugh as they continue to bask in their friendship.

Kirishima plants the umbrella into the sand firmly and grins widely, "The Blazing Sun! The Cheerful Beach!" he sniffs the sea breeze deeply as if to nourish his lungs, "Ahhhh! The seaside is truly the best!"

"I would make fun of you for how dramatic you're being but I'd do the same thing if you weren't already!" Mina admits as she sets her things down.

The floating clothes of Hagakure come into view as she pushes all her things into Ojiros arms. "Wow this beach really is beautiful! We're so lucky that the city finally had it cleaned and open for the public!"

Izuku smiles inwardly as he hears them speak about it, little do they know.

"Too bad we only have today to enjoy it." Ojiro laments as he places all their stuff on the towel and takes off his shirt.

He double takes as he could've swore he saw a floating blush above Hagakures shirt. Hmm must've been the sun.

Momo and Jiro make it, Momo being the one who brought everyone food, "Hello everyone! I brought some snacks for us to enjoy while we're here."

She places the plates on the towel and once again Uraraka's eyes nearly pop out her head, "Is-is that shrimp?!"

"Yes! It's my favorite beachside snack to have while enjoying the sun." Momo gushes.

"So… rich." Uraraka whispers to herself.

She looks to Izuku and smiles, "This is shaping up to be a great beach day don't you think?"

He smiles back at her, "Yea! I-I brought a volleyball too in case anyone wanted to play a game."

He takes off his shirt and all the breath in Uraraka's chest escapes as she witnesses Izuku's muscular torso. Mina whistles appreciatively, "Wow Midoriya! Who knew you were hiding those muscles under those under those baggy clothes!"

He bows his head in embarrassment from the attention, twiddling his thumbs. He raises a confused eyebrow as he sees Uraraka staring at him with blood dripping from her nose, "Uraraka you're bleeding! Did you get hurt!?"

She blushes deeply while covering her face, "Whaa! No it's just the dry heat! Yea that's it!"

She turns her back to him and removes the clothes she was wearing, revealing a form fitting one piece swimsuit that has Izuku feeling light headed.

Mina and Hagakure giggle as they see the pair fawn over each other, "Hey Midoriya I think you have a bit of drool on your mouth."

He yelps as he wipes frantically all the while trying not to make eye contact with Ochako. Peter laughs to himself at his friends antics, "Come on guys I don't think the poor guy can take anymore teasing."

"Alright alright fine!" they relent and the class begin to enjoy themselves, eating food, conversing and getting to know one another better. Jiro asks Peter and Momo, "What kind of music you guys like?"

Momo answers first, "Classical music and Jazz are what were played most in my childhood though I am partial to certain latin music I've heard when we visited Cuba."

"You mean like Salsa?" Peter asks.

Momo's smile grows, "Yes! Oh it's so wonderful! And so fun to dance to!"

"You'd definitely love this one block in Harlem, every Saturday night they have a salsa block party with some of the best food in the world!"

"What kind of food?" Jiro asks.

"All kinds really but my favorite thing to eat is a Sope, it's a traditional Mexican dish, it's like a thick tortilla with refried beans and cheese and avocado and meat and lettuce and all that goodness on top! It's messy as hell but sooooooo good!" Peter gushes, much to their amusement.

Momo perks up, "That sounds like the perfect food to eat for my quirk."

Peter snaps his fingers, "Oh yea you said you create things using the lipids in your body right?"

"Yes, and the more I intake the more I can create."

"I gotta introduce you to the sope then!"

"Sadly there aren't many Spanish restaurants in this side of the world."

He agrees with her then Jiro asks, "And what kind of music are you into Peter?"

He blushes, "My music taste is kinda all over the place, I'll listen to music that's current like Twenty one Pilots or Jack harlow, or music from centuries ago from bands like Queen or Iron Maiden."

Jiro blinks, "That's like around the time that the X men made their debut, you weren't kidding about listening to old music!"

He shrugs, "What can I say I'm an old soul!"

At that moment Mina gets everyones attention again, "Come on guys! We're at a beach! Let's go in the water!"

Everyone starts chasing after her and Momo shrugs and gets up revealing the two piece red bikini she's wearing. Peter's jaw drops, openly staring at the goddess standing before him. Seriously if Momo wasn't becoming a pro hero then Swimsuit model would definitely be in the realm of possibility! Momo notices Peter staring and instead of being angered by it she's… flattered? Why do I feel flattered? She shakes her head and clears her throat, breaking Peter out of his trance. Blood rushes to his cheeks as he realizes he was caught and he quickly takes of his shirt and stretches, unaware at the gaping stare Momo was giving him. Wow, I knew he had a good figure after seeing him in his suit but seeing it unobscured and in person it's…

"Like what you see?" Hagakure asks, startling Momo.

"How long have you been standing there?"

"Long enough to see you drool over Parker-Kun." She teases.

Momo blushes maddeningly, "I was not drooling!"

"There's still some on your chin."

Momo's hand quickly wipes but feels nothing and she glares as Hagakure giggles, "Sorry! Just saying you have a good eye for boy toys!"

"That's not—I wouldn't—Parker is just—"

"Come on let's enjoy ourselves!" the invisible girl pulls the vice class rep into the water as they all begin to have fun, splashing each other and surfing the waves. Peter uses his enhanced agility to flip expertly into the air and land perfectly back in the water in a way that would make even the best pro surfer jealous. Hours pass as they all have fun, unaware of a figure made of water raising slightly from the ocean surface and watching the beach patrons before disappearing back into the water.

Peter feels a slight tingle in his spider sense and looks back but sees nothing. Huh, weird. But he shrugs and continues, this time they begin a game of volleyball. It's a playful game with no sense of competition as all they want to do is enjoy themselves… well everyone but Uraraka. Wow she's surprisingly competitive! Peter thinks as he watches Jiro sets the ball and Momo hits it to the other side of the net but Ochaco vaults and spikes the ball right in Kirishima's face, knocking the boy to the ground. Midoriya turns to Ochaco with an impressed and somewhat scared look, "Wow you're a lot stronger than I thought!"

She smiles with a dark atmosphere around her, "That's one step closer to winning!"

He sweat drops, "I think you're taking this game a little too seriously."

But Peter is getting more and more distracted as his spider sense keeps going off. He turns his head again but is just hit with a volleyball in the face.

"Come on Parker you're bringing our team down with you!" Kirishima teases.

Peter laughs halfheartedly, "I'm gonna sit the rest of the game out, kinda tired right now."

As he walks on Momo senses that there's something more to it and excuses herself from the game as well. She sits next to Peter who's surveying the beach intently. "Is everything ok?"

He jumps slightly, startled by her presence but smiles, "Yea just spider sense tingling."

"You're… you're what?"

He blinks, "Oh yea I never told you about it."

"About what?"

"I have this I guess sixth sense that alerts me to danger, tingles at the base of my skull whenever it goes off."

"No wonder you always seem to move out the way whenever you're in danger before you're hit, at least most times!"

"Yea sometimes I'm not fast enough or sometimes I just don't react, it's weird it's an instinct when it's a severe danger but I guess when it's mild it's left up to me and I sometimes don't rise to the occasion." He admits.

She raises an eyebrow and"… And you named it what again?"

"I affectionately refer to it as my spider sense!" he answers without a shortage of pride.

She nods but a question forms in her head, "So is whatever you're sensing now a minor danger."

He shrugs, "maybe but it's a danger nonetheless, and it's been consistent for a while now."

She snaps her fingers, "No wonder you seemed so distracted!"

Well there were many reasons why I was distracted but sure lets go with that.

His eyes land on a small crying child on the far side of the beach. Wordlessly he gets up and starts walking to the child. Not wanting to be left behind Momo follows him and they get to the crying child, who instantly stops crying and smiles widely. "Hi!"

"Umm hi," Peter greets, "What're you doing here all by yourself?"

He's still smiling widely, "I live here and I'm not by myself, I'm with my family."

Momo looks around but sees no one, "Where is your family?"

Peter can't help but feel creeped out at the child's smile and he could've swore that his eyes darkened a little, "Oh they're around. Everywhere."

Feeling somewhat disturbed Momo pulls Peter back a little and whispers, "I'm getting a bad feeling about this child."

"No kidding and my spider sense is slowly flaring the more time we stand near him. So either I'm crazy or—"

"Or the child is the source of danger." She finishes and they both slowly gaze at the child. But they're shocked to see that instead of a child, it's a grown man now.

"Whoa uh are you that kids dad?" Peter asks as he looks left and right for the child who's nowhere to be seen.

"There is no child here?" the man begins to sport the same creepy smile that the child wore.

"Peter I think he is that child."

"But how?"

They both try to take a step back but can't. Peter sees that the water from the waves seems to have solidified around their ankles. He uses more strength than normal to free his feet before looking back at the man. "What was your name?"

"Morris, Morris Bench."

"Um so Morris, what brings you here?"

This question seems to snap Morris back to reality as he looks around like as if he's finally aware. "I'm here because—why am I here? Oh that's right I was supposed to play with my family. Today's our beach day!"

He smiles but as he smiles tears start to fall. "Where's your family Morris?"

Momo asks as she and Peter slowly step back, their bodies tense.

The smile looks broken as the question sinks in, "They were here… but but now they're not. I-we- we were playing in the water. My son," water falls off his body as he suddenly transforms into the child from before, "He wanted me to use my quirk—he wanted to go deeper in the water." The water resorbs back into his body and he returns to his adult form, " I –I oh god what did I do?!"

He falls to his knees and starts sobbing into his hands, rocking back and forth, "I lost-I lost control! He wouldn't stop sinking! My –my Wife wouldn't stop sinking! I couldn't save th-them!" his form begins going back and forth between the child and himself and a woman all crying terribly until it stops in his normal adult form and he stops rocking.

He lifts his head from his hands and grins manically. "I want to play!"

Suddenly his form becomes water and he seeps into the waves. An intense pain hits Peter's skull as his Spider sense tingles stronger than ever before! A split second passes and he scoops Momo bridal style and leaps out the way of a giant water fist. The beahc patrons begin to scream in terror as a large creature shaped like a man emerges, made entirely of water. Peter keeps hopping with Momo in his arms trying to get back to the group who've all become aware of the danger.

"What the hell is even that!" Kirishima wxclaims.

"It's some nutjob going crazy and he can apparently turn into water." Peter explains.

The deranged villain slams his arm across the beach like a tidal wave, the patrons barely getting out the way but for some reason still staying near the danger. Some re smiling, "Oh I wonder which pro is gonna show up?"

"I hope it's Endeavor!"

"Are you kidding? He doesn't even come to this side of the city plus isn't fire quirks weak against water quirks?"

"Are these people stupid?! They need to get out of here now!" Peter yells in clear frustration.

"Ummm Parker-kun, I appreciate the help but can you please let me down?" Momo asks, cheeks slightly flushed.

Peter was too distracted from the danger to realize he was still holding her and quickly lets her back to her feet in embarrassment. Neither one will admit it but for a second they both felt slightly disappointed from letting go as it was a lot more comfortable than they're willing to admit for Momo to be in Peter's arms. Izuku speaks up, "We have to get these people away from here!"

"My thoughts exactly!" Peter opens his bag and searches through it as the water villain laughs while absorbing more of the beach water.

"Guys we can't do anything, we don't have a license rememeber? We'll get in trouble if we use our quirks!" Toru argues.

Peter stops and gives her a look, "Seriously? There's no telling when any pro will show up! If someone doesn't do anything these people can seriously be hurt," he notices some are still standing there watching, "Especially because they're treating it like Saturday morning cartoons! Hey buddy! Get out of here!"

The beach patron glares at Peter as he takes out a camera and begins taking pics, "And miss a pro hero battle? Fuck off!"

Peter's spider sense tingles and Morris raises his giant watery fist and strieks downward towards the hapless citizen who's screaming in fear at the nearing danger. Quickly Peter finds what he's looking for and attaches the webshooter his wrist, he quickly fires a line at the citizen and yanks him to safety just as a crater is made where he was standing. Peter catches him and sets the flustered citizen down. "Now will you get the hell out of here?!"

"Y-Yea you're the boss!"

He starts running away and again Peter's spider sense tingles and he orders everyone to move. They escape the tidal wave and this time Izuku speaks up, "Parker-kun is right! We need to at least get these people to safety, we don't have to use our quirks but we can at least clear the area!"

"Didn't Peter just use his quirk though?" Jiro asks.

Peter waves his web shooter, "These aren't part of my quirk just a tool so I'm free to use it!"

Momo secretly conjures a megaphone and tells the group, "Then it's decided! We'll do crowd control! I'll get their attention the rest of you help the crowd clear the area!"

They nod and begin doing so, despite the villain's rampage. Thankfully he is hampered by his childlike mentality which seems to truly want to play, but unfortunately what he believes are playful swats are giant attacks of death due to his increased size. Thankfully the group is able to clear the beach just in time just as pro heroes finally make the scene.

Big Chill and Death Arms both arrive. Big Chill tells Death Arms, "I'll try to slow him down, you clear a path to for the citizens."

"Right!"

Big chill slides on the ice ramp he makes and gets himself eye level with the villain.

"Are you here to play with me?"

"No villain! I am here to demand that you cease this rampage or I will be forced to stop you myself!"

Peter raises an eyebrow, "Why is he speaking like that?"

Izuku shrugs, "lot's of rookie heroes like to make big statements to get noticed more!"

He scoffs, "Everyones noticing him alright, acts like a bigger dork than me."

"I didn't think that was possible." Jiro quips.

"Hey!"

Back to Big Chill, the villain answers, "But daddy promised we could play in the water!"

"Fine, um H-Hydroman, you leave me no choice!"

He then ice blasts Hydro Man in the face, freezing it and causing him to bellow in pain. His watery face twists into one of anger and his body becomes a swirling vortex of water and engulfs the pro hero, swirling him around violently before shooting him out into the city streets. Panicking, Big Chill blasts ice to try to slow down but ends up nearly freezing the screaming citizens and throwing vehicles of all kinds into the air. One starts flipping towards a group of innocent civilians huddled in fear and Peter rushes towards. He leaps clear over the semi truck and thinking quickly, he places a thumb over the nozzle of his webshooter and fires causing it to splay outwards like a net and attaching itself to two lamp posts. He holds the web as he lands and lets go just as the truck is upon him. The web catches the truck and bounces it back safely to the street, saving the civilians. They all start to thank him but he quickly gets back to the group.

"Peter! You can't keep using your quirk!" Momo scolds.

"Oh come on not you too!?"

"There are rules we have to follow—" she tries to explain.

"Momo did you see what would've happened if I didn't stop that truck? All those people would've been crushed! Did you want me to let it happen?"

She looks away guiltily, "N-no but—we were told— it's not that simple!"

"Sure it is! Their lives are in danger, we stop the danger simple as that!"

"But you could get expelled!"

"I'd rather be expelled than have another death on my conscious!"

"Another?—Peter what happened?"

At that moment Hydro Man screams in rage and water from the city pipes burst from the ground, erupting all around the city blocks and becoming absorbed by him. Izuku activates full cowl and quickly moves civilians out the way of the eruptions while Kirishima hardens and gets in the way of debris that was hurtling towards a family, grunting from the hit but otherwise happy to have saved them. "Holy shit!" Peter whispers.

Death Arms goes to his unconscious partner and curses, "Damn, my quirk is no good for this, all I can do is direct the crowd and hope for someone with a suitable quirk to arrive!"

Peter points at him and turns to Momo, "Hear that? How many lives can end before that happens? Please Momo work with me here and I'll accept any consequence after, hell I'll take full responsibility for this!"

Momo nods, "Ok desperate times call for desperate measures. I'm sorry to ask this, but can you keep him distracted to keep him from causing more damage?"

Peter smiles and giveds her a thumbs up, "You got it Princess!"

And he leaps into action swinging up higher until he's perched on a roof of a building, "Hey there Morrie gotta sec?"

The villain turns to Peter and frowns, "No No! Don't call me that! Call me what meanie called me!"

Peter tilts his head with a finger on his chin, "Hydrant man?"

"No! Hydro Man!"

"I'm pretty sure he said hydrant man, boy the dogs must love you!"

"Stop being mean!"

He sends a wave at Peter who leaps to the next rooftop, "I'm the meanie!? I'm not the one trying to give the city a swirlie, bet you experienced quite a few of those growing up huh?"

Hydro man growls and becomes a vortex again trying to get Peter who tries swinging around him, "Yikes that was close! I hope everyone else is having an easier time than me!"

"Uraraka I have a someone trapped under some rubble in the convenience store, I need you to use your quirk to lift the debris it's too heavy for me too move!" Momo asks.

"Got it!" Urarak then touches each boulder, which all begin to float in the air as Jiro and Momo pull the old man out from under.

He grunts, "My leg!"

Momo notcies that it's broken and she begins to conjure splints and some rope to set it, "This may hurt a little but I need you to bare with me sir."

Hw whimpers but nods as she tightens the leg splint and Jiro helps him up and assists him to safety. Uraraka waits until they're clear before she releases her quirk. Everything falls back to the ground but the impact destabilizes the structure around her and debris starts to fall towards her. She gasps as she sees it fall towards her and is too slow to move. She throws her hands up and closes her eyes waiting for the impact but then hears, "URARAKA-CHAN!"

Suddenly Izuku appears and carries her out the way just in time. He leaps and flips back towards the street and he settles her to the ground, she sighs in relief and smiles, "Thank you Deku-kun!"

He checks her worriedly, "Are you alright?" he asks as he deactivates full cowling.

She's about to answer but Sees that a flipped car behind Izuku had gas leaking and sparks from it's headlight ignites the flame and it quickly reaches the tank. "Watch out!"

Izuku looks back to see the explosion and only has enough time to huddle Uraraka close while the force of the explosion throws them off their feet and tumbling across the road, with Izuku taking most of the damage. They stop with Uraraka on top of Izuku. Her eyes widen and she scrambles back once realizing their positon but notices that Izuku is unconscious. "Deku-kun! Deku-kun! Wake up!"

She tries to get him to wake to no avail. Tears start to form as she continues to fail to rouse her classmate. Peter notices this from high above and he stops, "Izuku no!"

Unfortunately his distraction leaves him open to be sucked into the water vortex, He's flung head over heals inside hydro man, who's laughing face taunts Peter. Crap, I didn't even get a chance to catch my breath! Can't get my bearings either, I don't know which side is up or down! this isn't good!

As he desperately tries to figure out what to do, an ice blast hits Hydro man who again roars in pain. The vortex stops and Peter falls out and lands hard on a car under them. Big Chill groans in pain but is still standing as he blasts hydro man again, "Hey, we're not finished yet!"

He uses a ice ramp to circle around hydro man, freezing different sections of his body, slowing him down significantly. Peter holds his head and groans, "He couldn't have done that earlier?"

Jiro finds Peter and helps him off the car, "How're you feeling?"

"About as good as I can feel falling stories high onto a car."

"Wow I asked a Kaminari level dumb question."

He chuckles, "I appreciate the humor actually. Hey I have an idea, can you get Momo for me?"

She nods and runs off to find her friend while Peter gets to his bag back towards the beach, he opens it up and starts rummaging through it, "I'm so happy I forgot to empty it out before I got ready for the beach. Aha!"

He pulls out his mask and quickly puts it on, "Please work please work please work, YES!"

A heads up display comes alive and immediately starts scanning the area. He swings back towards the battle and finds a puddle of water that fell from Hydro Man. He activates the scanner in his mask and analyzes the water, "Alrighty lets hope Bench's liquid form is as good a catalyst as regular H2O. if it is then I have just the solution to take him down!"

The scanner finishes it's job and to his relief, his body truly is similar to normal H2O. His spider sense goes off and he quickly gets out the way as Hydro man becomes a jet stream of water with Big Chill at the forefront, smashing him against multiple surfaces before throwing him against a water tank. Big Chill groans in pain and can't even stand anymore as he weakly looks up at the watery devil who forms the ice into a nice thin blade like sheet, "I don't wanna play with you anymore!" Hydro Man says and he thrust the dangerous ice towards the pro hero but just in time, Mirko appears and kicks the ice, shattering it and grabs Big Chill by the collar and leaps him towards safety.

"Thanks for warming up the bad guy, now let a real pro handle this." She smirks and leaps into action.

"Someone new to play!"

He dodges his massive fists and smirks again, "Sorry squirt but I'm no ones toy!"

As she battles the water giant, Peter and Momo meet up, "you needed me Parker-kun?"

"There's something I need you to do!"

"Shit this is tougher than I thought!" Mirko says as her kick splashes through Hydro Man's body, it hardens around her trapped ankle and throws her through a billboard. Peter lands Near her.

"What the hell are you doing here?"

"I have a way to beat him!"

"Kid this is no time to play hero, get out of here before you make things worse!"

"Please just listen, you won't have a chance to beat him without my help!"

Mirko curses before sighing, "Fuck it, I'll humor you, what do you got?"

"My friend was able to make a coagulant that'll react to the H2O in his body and become a hardening agent, it'll stop him in his tracks and he'll become a regular person again. I have it in this web cartridge all I need to do is shoot him with my webs!"

Mirko blinks, "that's… actually brilliant, how quickly will it work?"

"Don't know, it depends on the amount of H2O in his body."

A shadow looms over them as the building sized Hydro Man sneers down at them, "That's a lot of water." Peter deadpans.

They both cartwheel away from his slam and Peter instantly starts to unload his webs at the villain. "Stay still!"

Peter somersaults out the way, "Make me!"

Hydro Man raises his fist again but Peter webs his face, the contents dissolving into the water and Mirko leaps high in the air and kicks him hard, actually hurting him. "What?" Hydro Man confusedly grips his jaw.

Peter continues to shoot his webs until all his cartridges are depleted and Hydro Man begins to shrink, "What!? No! No fair! No Fair!"

He's now the size of a normal man and Mirko stalks towards him with a dangerous smirk, "Sorry buddy, life's not fair."

And she socks him good, knocking him out. Momo runs up conjuring a large absorbent sheet that they use to wrap the villain in. As sirens start to near the group reunites around the downed villain, with Mina exclaiming, "Wow that was so cool guys! We're 2-0 now!"

Mirko chuckles and narrows her eyes at the group, "So before the cops arrive, mind explaining why you students decided to illegally use your quirks?"

Without missing a beat they all point at Peter. "…. Wow seriously?"

Mirko crosses her arms expectantly and Peter sighs, "We did start with crowd control—"

"Clearly it didn't stay that way." Mirko cuts him off.

Annoyed he continues, "—but Big Chill and Death Arms were getting their asses handed to them… we Big Chill was, death Arms didn't even try honestly."

"Again? (sighs) Why did they even give him a license?"

"Look if we didn't act, a lot of people would've died and honestly we're training to be heroes, and they don't just stand around doing nothing."

Mirko raises an eyebrow as they all see Death Arms in the distance… Standing around doing nothing. "Well most of them anyway."

Mirko shakes her head as the police finally arrive on scene and they begin clean up. "Illegally using your quirks like this is an act of vigilantism that normally ends with those involved either expelled or jailed."

They all hold their breathes, "But, and it really pains me to admit it, there wouldn't have been anyway for us to defeat this villain, at least not before untold destruction and death happened. So tell you what, just this once, I'll cover for you. I'll tell them that I gave you my permission due to your 'specific quirks being well suited for this predicament'. Just don't do it again."

They all let their breaths out in relief while Ojiro asks, "Won't those two deny your statement?"

"She scoffs, "if they want to keep their licenses they'll stay quiet."

Peter shrugs, "I'm not biting the hand that feeds me."

Mirko smirks then nods at Peter to come to her, "You got talent kid and a good head on your shoulders."

"Um thanks."

"What's your quirk?"

"OH uh it's uh spider quirk."

"So you can do anything a spider can?"

"Everyone says that exact phrase for some reason, but yea."

She crosses her arms and smirks, "Tell you what, give it your all in the sports festival and maybe in the future you can come to my agency, with your quirk, I think you could fit right in. Plus there's enough similarities in our quirks that I think oyu'll bebenfit from."

His eyes widen, "You mean I can intern with you?"

"Keep impressing me and you might."

With that she leaves and begins debriefing the police.

Uraraka watches Deku worriedly as he's being checked out by the Ambulance. She looks down at her hands dejectedly when she feels someone stand next to her.

"He's fine you know?" Peter reassures her.

She sighs, "I know. It's just, I hate that he got hurt again trying to save me, again."

"Come on Uraraka, you know Midoriya, he'll do anything to help anyone in need especially his friends."

"I know and that's one of the things that makes him great, but what kind of hero or friend can I be if all I'm good for is making people I care about risk their necks for me?"

Peter takes a moment to think, trying to figure out the right thing to say. "You'd be just like anyone else. You know how many times my friends Harry and Gwen had to bail me out whenever I was being bullied or given swirlies?"

"What's a swirly?"

"It's when they dunk your head in a toile—nevermind that, my point is, that's what friends are for. To help each other when we're in need. You'll get your chance to return the favor. Plus I'm pretty sure the people you saved consider you a hero."

She smiles as she remembers how grateful the old man was once he saw them again. "Thanks Parker-kun."

"No problem." He double takes as he sees the look of longing she's sending to Izuku. He looks back and froth between the two as he makes a connection and smirks, "Is there any other reason why you're worried about him?"

"huh? What do you mean?"

"Nothing it's just I cn't help but realize you said there's a few more reason why he's great, you keeping a list or something?"

She begins to blush, "Wha-what're you trying to say!?"

He chuckels as he starts to walks away, "Nothing at all! You get home safe ok?"

As he begins to walk away Momo appears and ask if she can speak with him privately. He agrees and follows her back to the beach, "Hey did you ever find out who that guy is?" Peter asks.

"I overheard the police, Morris Bench was an American soldier who had been stationed at a base in Okinawa, had a family as well. Apparently he took his family on a snorkeling trip when unbeknownst to them an underwater experiment was being performed. It went wrong and the chemicals were released into the waters, causing him to lose control and everything was destroyed in a 3 mile radius. He was presumed dead but he surfaced today. They suspect that the chemicals altered the chemicals in his brain when he was in his hydro form and left his psyche broken."

Peter frowns, "That's terrible, hopefully they help him. He didn't choose to be a villain."

She smiles at his compassion, "I hope so too… Peter I have to apologize again. I shouldn't have tried to stop you."

Peter waves her off, "Momo- Yaoyoruozu, it's ok. Look I have a hard time adjusting to things here. Back in America, there are way more villains then there are heroes, so because of that we have a lot more vigilantes and though we have the same laws, the police aren't exactly enforcing it as much."

"Which is the opposite here because of the high concentration of pro heroes. It's funny, we live on the same planet and yet it feels like we come from two different worlds."

He chuckles, "That's one way of putting it."

"Peter can I ask you something?"

"Sure."

"you don't have to answer if you don't want to… why did you say you have a death on your conscious?"

Peter breaks eye contact as pain fills his very being, "I'm sorry!"

"No it's fine, I was bound to talk about it anyway… just promise me you won't think differently of me when I tell you."

"I promise."

"… when my quirk activated, I had no intention of being a hero. I always wanted to be a scientist and that wasn't gonna change. Most I wanted to do was get back at my bullies. Hh. But my Uncle Ben, he was such a great man. Wiser than anyone I know. He believed I could do more, that I could follow the principles he shared with my father… That with Great power comes great responsibility."

She smiles warmly, "very wise words indeed."

He grins and wipes a tear away, "Yea they are… but I threw them right back at his face. We had an argument and I stormed out. I went to a store to get some snacks but the guy was such a dick, saying that it's not his problem to help me out. As I'm leaving, he gets robbed and he asks me for help. And I tell him it's not my problem."

Momo jerk backs, surprised that Peter, who since she's known him has been one of, if not the most selfless person she's ever met. "Yea. I let him get away. And not a few minutes later, I hear a gunshot. When I get to where it came from, I found my uncle dying. He-he died right in my hands."

Peter sniffles and Momo takes his hand comfortingly, "you don't have to continue."

"I do. When the police arrived at our house they showed us a sketch of the killer… it was the same man I let go."

Momo's hands flew up to her mouth in horror, tears forming. "If I had acted then, if I hadn't have been a selfish asshole, my uncle would still be alive right now. I was so angry, I wanted revenge. I found out where he was and I chased after him, I beat him. I wanted to kill him… but I didn't because I rememebered Uncle Ben's principles and the hopes he had for me, I couldn't kill him if I wanted to be the man my Uncle believed I could be. So I left him for the cops to arrest. And I spent every chance I could as a vigilante for a while, trying to honor Uncle Ben's memory."

"I'm … I'm so sorry. I can't even begin to understand your grief."

"Honestly I hope you never do. I hope you never have to feel this. But I do hope you understand now. I can't stand by and do nothing again, or else someone might lose their Uncle Ben."

"It's not so easy Peter, the rules of society, they won't stand for that."

He shrugs, "It doesn't matter what the consequences will be, I just want to do the right thing."

That little confession opens a whirlpool of emotion in Momo. Her parents had her sent to become a hero because of how well it would represent their image, their esteemed family producing a fine pro hero, it'd be perfect. And at first that was her reasons for being in UA. But the more time she spent with everyone in her class, the more time she spent with Peter, she realized what it truly means to be a hero. And she realized just how much she wants to be a hero. A hero, like Peter.

"You're a good man Parker-kun. I may not have known him, but im certain your Uncle is proud of the man you are."

A genuine smile grows on his face, "Thank you Momo—Yaoyorozu, sorry."

"It's fine."

"I'm still getting used to the language."

"Tell you what, I can help you with speaking Japanese, and in return you can help me develop my quick thinking and ingenuity." She offers.

Taken aback, Peter asks, "Really what for?"

"You really surprised me thinking up such a quick and effective solution to defeat Hydro Man, I wanna learn how to think outside the box as well."

They both smile at each other, their hearts beating madly in their chest as their bond deepens.

"OK yea, It's deal, Thanks Yaoyorozu-kun!"

She grins sweetly, "Of course what're friends for?"
