Vol 2 Chapter 9: Tintity
"Congratulation! You have brewed a new type of beverage using Potato and Élion as a subsidiary. A reward has been issued."
Such notification waited for Foin when he woke up. At first, he just rubbed his eyes and then finally realised what the message implied. It meant that in just one night, he managed to brew something from his previous experiment. Though he expected it to take at least more than a few days, it was a pleasant surprise to see how fast it was.
"I thought I would fail for the first couple of times..."
He thought as he slowly stood up and slightly stretched his arms and legs; however, at that moment, he witnessed something unexpected. he received another system notification, which shook him.
"Congratulations! You have levelled up. Required Experience Points increased! All Stats have increased by 1! Ability Points increased by 1!"
He was doing nothing at all, yet for some unknown reason, he levelled up. He quickly stepped out and looked around in his field. There were many changes he noticed.
The first thing which caught his eye was his potato and pepper fields; both were harvested. The products had been placed into one large pile, while the unneeded plants were also collected into one pile. Only his special green paper was untouched, which brought him some sort of relief.
However, the most shocking and unexpected occurrence was that the élion flower he planted from multiple flowers vanished completely. His mind instantly started racing as to who or what could have stolen it, but since he knew barely anyone, he gave up.
He had not seen the ant for days, and it could have done it with the others many times over; why would it do to that small plant which wasn't even ready yet? As for the dragon, seeing how the land was still in one piece, he discarded that idea quickly.
"Oh, you are awake! Good morning, master!"
A strange, girly voice could have been heard. Foin instantly looked around; however, he could see no living being, no matter how hard he scanned the area. He couldn't understand how he heard the voice when he was alone. He started to think that he was going insane, but then he felt a light pull on his pants.
"Master?"
The same voice could be heard simultaneously with the strange feeling on his leg, so Foin quickly looked down. By his feet, he could see a tiny figure about twenty centimetres high. The figure seemed almost human-like. The entity by his leg had long red hair and light green skin along with a tail and a pair of wings, while the creature seemed to have a darker green set of very thin fabric over most of its torso and legs. It was so thin that from further away, it was impossible to tell that apart from its skin.
This tiny figure was so shocking for Foin that he just stared at it for a whole minute. He couldn't understand why it would call him master. He didn't even know who or what the tiny figure was; he didn't receive a notification about him taming anything. But for some reason, here stood a being before him who called him master, almost as if it was his servant.
"Master? What is the matter?"
The entity says with concern in its tone, and it quickly jumps up. Using its wings, it flew up to Foin's head and started hovering before his eyes. She had strangely shocked eyes. She had not a pair but two pairs of eyes on top of one another, and they were not one-bit human-like. Although the shape was similar, its entire eye was just pure red, just like its hair.
The creature tenderly touched Foin's cheeks. Other than its hair and eyes, its nails were also pure red. And as soon as the entity's hand touched his face, from the tip of its fingers, green, vine-like appendages darted out and dug under Foin's skin. He felt immense fear at first; however, instead of pain, he felt nothing more than relive and calmness.
Suddenly, Foin averted his eyes from the tiny figure's hand and instead gazed into its eyes. At that moment, a few drops of sweat formed on its entire body, and it withdrew its hand and flew back a few meters. In mid-air, the figure performed a deep bow, and with the trembling body, it looked back at Foin.
"I am terribly sorry for my transgression, master... I wasn't thinking and acted unconsciously."
"Erm... What did you just do... Also, who are you?"
Foin asked. He still felt very calm, but his tone was cold and demanding. Although he was unsure of the creature's power, for some reason, he felt quite dominant and powerful. Maybe it was the submissive nature of the creature, or maybe he just wanted to be intimidating; not even he knew which was it.
He felt that should the need arise in one swift movement; he could squash the floating being using both of his hands and all his might. Though it was only imagined in his head, and since he was in another world, the possibility of the tiny creature being stronger than him was also a possibility, but for the time being, he wanted to think optimistically.
He maintained his cold glare and stared into the entity's eyes while he opened his hands and slightly moved them away from his side so that he would have a greater reaction time.
As for the creature, it slightly lowered its head, feeling Foin's gaze, and after taking a deep sigh, it once again raised its head. It slowly opened its mouth, revealing many very sharp teeth. The number of teeth it had was way beyond what humans had, and also, they were very small and so sharp that they could be easily used as blades.
"Master... I apologise for the late introduction... I was just so happy that I forgot about everything... My name is Énilo..."
