Chapter 6: The Devil's Offer
"Go faster, Ethan, don't stop, please!" Evelyn moaned while Ethan watched in utter disbelief. He couldn't tell if this was another nightmare destined to prick his skin.
"I will go faster, my love. I will make you shake your soft legs for me, baby," David whispered into her ears as he stroked her faster, staring into Ethan's eyes that had become heavy with tears and anger. This was more than horror for Ethan—it was a living nightmare.
"You bastard! Get off my wife!" Ethan screamed as he could no longer bear the horrific pain.
"Make me!" David dared, his smile cutting through Ethan's soul.
Ethan dashed towards David with the intent of landing a punch that would crush the face of the pompous brat, but before he could make a move, he felt an aggressive force pull him back, throwing him off the ground with a loud thud. He groaned, staring at the muscular man who stopped him in a second.
"And where do you think you're going, Ethan?" Mrs. Judith's voice came harshly behind the man's back as she walked majestically, shutting the room's door with a smile tugged at the side of her lips. She had fallen into the good grace of David Sinclair. For once, everything was finally working in her plan—except for the wretched son-in-law that stared right into her eyes with shock.
"An impostor sleeps with my wife and I stand here and do nothing!" Ethan screamed, his anger visible in his voice.
"Ma'am, should I teach him a lesson?" the man asked as he cracked his knuckles, ready to use them on Ethan, who struggled to get on his feet.
"For all I know, you are the impostor. You have been deceiving us for years, but now the truth is clear. You're nothing but a wretched fool, a bastard, and a con artist. My only mistake is letting my daughter marry such a scam. You disgraced her on the most memorable day of her life, and you expect to lay with her on the same night—how pitiful," Mrs. Judith cursed.
"You're wrong. I'm no con artist. I was scammed—someone set me up, and right now, you're allowing another man to sleep with my wife! Leave my way, Mrs. Judith. I need to break the face of the man who has caused me nothing but pain since the beginning of today!" Ethan warned as he stepped closer to Mrs. Judith, who stood by the door, her face covered in anger and disgust.
"Drag this fool to the living room!" Mrs. Judith ordered, and before Ethan could fight back, he was punched hard and carried like a child to the living room where four other bodyguards of David waited patiently. In a few minutes, David Sinclair walked out, perfectly dressed in a white robe with a smile that he never had before. His mood was nothing short of joy and fulfillment.
Ethan regained consciousness once more as he took a glance around. Seeing the man who made love to his wife sparked his anger as he charged towards David for the second time. He was stopped at once, and Mr. Sinclair couldn't help but laugh hysterically as he sipped from a glass of wine held in his left arm.
"Why the hell are you doing this? Since the break of dawn, you have been a pain in my ass. Tell me why!" Ethan screamed as he struggled to free himself from the strong guards who held him down.
"Poor Ethan, today must be the worst day of your life. I can only imagine how you must feel right now—devastated?" David asked as he erupted into another round of laughter, tears slowly filling his eyes.
"For years, I have carefully watched Evelyn grow in beauty. She has been my favorite woman, but I waited in the dark like a hunter, hoping that when the time was right, I would harvest and harness her true potential for myself. But your wretched ass came into the story. You stole what was rightfully mine. You took my happiness away from me, and I watched with no hope of regaining her back—not until this moment," Mr. Sinclair narrated as he sighed.
"You're a weak fool. I know you are responsible for all my misfortunes today, but this is the height of it all. How dare you sleep with my wife! How the hell did you even do it? She thinks it's me! She freaking called my name and you pretended to be me!" Ethan screamed, his voice nearly bringing down the roof as David smiled broadly. The room was filled with tension as everyone stared at Ethan. The maids and guards watched without a word, while Mrs. Judith enjoyed each second of the utter humiliation Ethan suffered.
"It wasn't so hard to get your lovely wife to bed. In fact, Mrs. Judith here did most of the hard work. Your humiliation caused her pain, and I simply took advantage of it. She's drunk and unaware of the man she truly lays with—and I must confess that she's as sweet as honey," David muttered slowly, making sure each word hurt more than the last. It was a living hell for Ethan as he held back his tears and anger, unwilling to show weakness, but in defense, he spat on David's face, watching as he carefully wiped off his spit.
"Master, perhaps I should break his bones and teach him a lesson he will never forget!" one of the guards suggested with a baton in his hands.
"I'm sorry, Ethan, but your joyride with Evelyn is over—and as a matter of fact, you have just signed the end of your marriage," David confessed, and in that moment, Mrs. Amber walked in with some documents in her hand.
"Forgive me, master. I should have killed this wretched bastard and buried his body. I never knew he would have the nerve to come back here for trouble," Amber revealed, bowing before David Sinclair, who carefully rubbed her hair.
"No, Amber. You always had a delightful taste for blood, but my intentions for Ethan are far different. I want to make him an offer—one I hope he accepts for all our sakes."
"Go to hell, David Sinclair, you pathetic fool! If you think that I will let this slide, then you are clearly mistaken. The whole world will know the sinful act you have committed tonight. I won't lose my wife to a fool like you!" Ethan screamed.
Mrs. Judith grew fed up by the moment; Ethan's voice pricked her skin with each second.
"David Sinclair, I think we have had enough of this wretched bastard. Let's get rid of him. All of our plan is coming into play. Perhaps it's time to cut loose of this pest!" Mrs. Judith screamed back, her eyes filled with venom.
"Ease your nerves, Mrs. Judith. No one will ever believe a word that comes from his mouth—not even his wife. For all I know, you are the one who's an impostor here. I have searched for your records. You're nothing but a foreigner—no trace of a family. You appeared from nowhere and stole my treasure. But not anymore. I'm here to reclaim everything and bury the likes of you if necessary!" David thundered.
At this point, Ethan realized nothing was a coincidence. It was all a mapped-out plan, one created to rob him of everything he cherished and loved. He bowed in defeat as his heart raced a thousand miles.
"Ethan Anderson! Or should I call you the great impostor? I'm prepared to offer you six million dollars to start a new life elsewhere—a place where you aren't known for your failure and wretchedness. You will leave tonight and only return if you wish death upon yourself. Consider this mercy from me, because there will be no other offer better than this," David revealed as he lit up a cigar passed down to him by his guard.
There was a moment of silence as Ethan searched his heart for answers. He could smell the soft scent of his wife. He wasn't prepared to lose her for anyone, and with courage and disgust in his voice, he muttered:
"I would rather die than accept your money. I will expose you, David Sinclair. You will regret the night you dared to lay with my wife. Your father will be ashamed of you. People fear you, but all I see is a bastard surrounded by loyal fools!"
David's face twisted in disgust, and in a split second, he punched Ethan in the face multiple times, watching as blood trickled through his nostrils. But Ethan had nothing but a smile on his face as the guards held him tight.
"I guess you have sealed your fate, Ethan. Take him to the desert, Amber. Kill and bury him where the vultures won't even see his carcass. I will end your life in a second and fuck your wife for all eternity, Ethan. I'm David Sinclair, and my word is final. I will see you in hell someday!" David revealed and walked out in anger, sealing a man's fate in blood.
"You will all regret this day. Mark my words, Mrs. Judith!" Ethan screamed, his voice trembling with rage as tears streamed down his cheeks.
"The only thing I regret," Mrs. Judith spat venomously, glaring into his eyes, "is not being there to watch you suffer and die in poverty. You're a doomed man, Ethan. You should've killed yourself when you had the chance, you shouldn't have survived that accident"
