RISE OF THE FOOTBALL LEGACY

Chapter 11: 11. Rising at Carrow Road

November 1, 2019, Carrington Training Ground, Manchester

Neil Goyal sprinted across Carrington's pitches, the buzz of his new £25,000-a-week contract fueling his drive for the Norwich City clash on November 2.

His Legendary Football System pulsed: Off The Ball (20), Composure (12), Determination (10), First Touch (14), Finishing (20), others at 7. With Off The Ball and Finishing maxed, Neil's preferred First Touch and Composure to thrive in the Premier League's glare.

The system's objective glowed: Impact Norwich Match. Reward: 2 S.P.

With no S.P. banked, Neil trained with intensity.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær's drills targeted Norwich's open style, testing Neil's Stamina (7). His First Touch (14) snared a curling pass from Paul Pogba, and his Composure (12) held as he struck the post in a scrimmage.

Michael Carrick clapped. "That's it, Neil—keep composed." The system chimed:

Objective: Show Hunger in Training. +1 S.P.

Neil banked it, his focus on First Touch for Carrow Road's stage.

The team bus hummed toward Norwich, Solskjær's team talk sharp. "They'll play out—press hard, hit fast." Neil, now a first-team substitute, felt the weight of his Liverpool brace.

His FM knowledge recalled United's 3-1 win—McTominay, Rashford, Martial scoring, Hernandez replying late. Could he add his mark?

Neil gripped his boots, ready for his moment.

Marcus Rashford doubled the lead in the 30th, slotting a penalty after a foul on Daniel James. 2-0.

Norwich pressed, but De Gea's saves kept United firm at half-time. Neil's Off The Ball (20) itched to exploit gaps, his Finishing (20) primed.

In the 65th minute, Solskjær subbed Neil on for Juan Mata, the crowd buzzing. "Find space, Goyal!" Solskjær barked. Neil sprinted on, earning £2,000 for his appearance.

A pass from Fred came quick, his First Touch (14) cushioning it smoothly. He darted past Godfrey, his Composure (12) steady under Norwich's press.

In the 70th minute, his Off The Ball (20) carved a run, and a precise pass found Rashford, who struck—but Krul saved. Neil's Determination (10) pushed him on.

Moments later, in the 73rd minute, Neil's chance came. Pogba's lofted ball reached him on the wing. His First Touch (14) controlled it, and his cross arced perfectly for Anthony Martial, who nodded past Krul.

3-0.

The system chimed: Assist in Match: +1 S.P.

Neil's assist earned €2,500, fans chanting "Goyal! Goyal!" Rashford high-fived him, grinning. "That's class, mate!"

Norwich pulled one back in the 88th minute, Onel Hernandez firing past De Gea.

The whistle blew, United securing a 4-1 win. Solskjær hugged Neil. "Great assist and Good goal lad!!"

X buzzed: "Goyal's assist and goal sinks Norwich! United's kid shines!"

In the locker room, Pogba nudged Neil. "That cross was silk, kid—keep serving those!" De Gea smirked. "Nice going lad, 4 goals in 3 League matches. Keep up this momentum"

Rashford laughed, tossing him a water bottle. "You're making us look bad, Goyal!" Neil's Composure (12) held as he soaked in their banter, his Liverpool brace and now the assist and goal today cementing his place.

His Determination (10) burned brighter, the £30 million release clause a distant thought.
