Rise Of The Chaos Embodiment

Chapter 26: More Alive

The fiery gaze of Damian made Valerie's knees buckle, a shiver running down her spine as a blush crept up her face. She had little idea why she was feeling this way, and although, she hated it, she couldn't deny the fact that her heart was thumping erratically.

Damian, on the other side, smiled imperceptibly, his golden eyes shining with an amusing glint. He found her especially cute, and at that moment, he had made up his mind.

He would take this woman with him.

That said, he couldn't help but suddenly think he was getting ahead of himself. Although his heart felt a little distraught, there was no denying the fact that this was just a Spheric Tower, how could he possibly bring the Duchess out of it?

Although the origins of Spheric Towers are relatively unknown, at least to those at the lower stratums of the Spheric Verse, what was known however, was that, they seem to be gates that leads to a completely different world. Or more appropriately, a mini world.

When things were put this way, it suddenly became confusing why it was impossible to bring people out of it. After all, a mini world was, at the end of the day, a real habitable world.

However, things were more complicated than what was made known to the public. The existence of these Spheric Towers were the fusion of the two most powerful Edicts in the cosmos. As such, to even dream of bringing living things out of the Towers, one needed to have a ridiculously high affinity with either one of these Edicts. And unfortunately, in the history of the Human Race, none had been born with such an affinity.

He frowned a little bit, but a moment later, his eyebrows smoothened out. He didn't believe for a second that there wasn't a way to bring people out of a Spheric Tower. No, it was more appropriate to say, he was absolutely confident he could bring anyone and anything out of a Spheric Tower.

As for why he was absolutely confident, one only needed to look through Damian's current stats to glean a modicum of information.

[ Name: Damian Octavius

Sphere Tier: First Sphere, Stratum 11

Race: Human

Title: None

House Physiology: Battle Sovereign Physiology (Unawakened)

Innate Edict: Space-time Edict

Innate Soul Edict: Chaos Edict

Ability: Innate Adaptability

Strength: 262 | Stamina: 244 | Vitality: 260 | Agility: 248 (+20) | Edict: 460 | Soul Edict: 400 ]

Damian looked at his own stats deeply, an unknown feeling churning up in his mind. His eyes scanned from his Innate Edict to his Innate Soul Edict, to his Constitution, to his current attributes, and back to his Innate Edict.

As it turns out, the reason for Damian's confidence was because his affinity with one of the two most powerful Edicts in existence, was one that had transcend even the realms of ridiculousness.

He didn't even need to start comprehending it as the Edict seems to have chosen to live in his body instead.

This was easily one of the reasons Damian's mother had chosen to send him to Earth. Although the House of Octavius was ridiculously powerful, it, unfortunately wasn't the most powerful. There were several Powers on par with them.

What if they learnt the House of Octavius had beget an Heir talented enough to possess Chaos Edict? She didn't even need to think to know they would do absolutely anything to weed said Heir out.

As such, she had sent Damian to Earth, a relatively unknown world compared to theirs. In this place, she was confident of his safety, at least, until Earth began evolving into the ranks of the higher Spheres. But by then, who could really stop her son?

Damian stretched his palm out, and suddenly, a wisp of dark-golden Edict appeared on it. Even with just this one wisp, the very laws of the Spheric Tower began shredding and bursting asunder.

The wind picked up, the sun dimmed, and the very earth of the whole Spheric Tower shook as though an earthquake was striking.

Claire stood frozen in her position. Although she had no idea what Edict Damian was controlling, it didn't take a genius to know the current commotion was being caused by him.

Normally, this wasn't enough to shock her as she could invoke the same effect. However, she could sense the laws that made up this Spheric Tower shifting and tearing as though it was fragile paper. And this alone was enough to shock her out of her wits.

To get an inkling of her reaction, one needed to know that ignoring the laws of even the lowest Bronze Grade Spheric Tower was something those existence above the Fifth Sphere could only do.

And obviously, Damian was far from such a thing, and yet he was doing exact same thing just by summoning a wisp of dark-golden Edict.

However, if this was enough to shock her, then the next scene sent her mind devoid of any thoughts.

Damian's eyes seems to take a darker tone as the wisp of dark-golden Edict in his hand enlarged to become a lump, then from a lump to a blob, and then to a basketball-sized floating ball of dark-gold.

At this moment, the skies above the Nevermore Territory was trembling, riddled by several cracks that seems to stretch across the whole world, and they were enlarging by the seconds.

Damian was unmoved by this. He wanted to test something, and see for himself if really he could bring a living thing out a Spheric Tower, if really he could break the laws imposed on this Spheric Tower.

He then pointed his hands towards Valerie, his eyes carrying no visible emotion.

"You…you..!" Valerie, on the other hand, couldn't speak anymore. She was frightened of him and attracted to him at the same time. It was a contrasting emotion she had no idea how she should take in.

That said, this wasn't what she was more concerned about. Her life was at risk here! She needed run, flee, escape for her life. Yet, when her golden slits landed on his golden pair of clearly Human eyes, she seems transfixed and all thoughts of escaping ironically escaped her mind.

As such, by the time she snapped back to reality, Damian had already released the ball of dark-golden Edict towards her.

A beam of dark-gold shot out of Damian's hands. It tore through every restrictions, the laws governing the Nevermore Territory vanishing as though they had never been there.

However, it didn't only affect these unseen laws. The ground just a meter beneath this beam caved in, a seemingly endless pit replacing the once leveled floor.

The skies had shattered, and in their place, a vast sea of darkness floated overhead. At that moment, it really appeared as though the world was about to end.

Draconians, Humans, Felines. Spheric Beasts. It didn't matter how strong they were, a dread the likes of which they had never felt arose in their hearts, causing some to faint on spot.

If the surroundings could be affected this greatly just from the sheer pressure of the dark-golden beam, one could only imagine what would happen to the person this said beam was aimed at to begin with.

BOOM!

Valerie couldn't even squeak before the beam hit her, resulting in an explosion the likes of which dwarfed nukes. Valerie couldn't even summon a protection before she was sent reeling into the air, her mind almost blacking out.

However, she quickly regained herself, executing a flip that landed her on her feet firmly.

The explosion continued for a minute before it began to dwindle, shrinking till it vanished entirely.

With such an explosion, what one would expect was the non-existent remains of Valerie, gone and vanished with the air. However, when the commotion finally cleared, Claire was left shell shocked.

Valerie stood, her being intact as though she had never been hit to begin with. Even the littlest strand of her hair was untouched, and for some reason, she seemed to be a little more stronger than before.

In addition, there was one more thing Claire took notice of.

Valerie seemed more solid… more alive.
