Chapter 19: Karen and Julia
Julia sits at the large coffee table in the expansive living room, her laptop humming softly in front of her. The room was a marvel of modern design, with six plush four-seater sofas arranged in a half-circle, all facing an imposing 85-inch flat-screen TV mounted on the wall. Sunlight streamed through tall windows, casting a warm glow over the elegant decor—crisp white walls adorned with abstract art and a polished marble floor reflecting the light beautifully.
As she typed, Julia couldn’t help but appreciate her surroundings. The luxurious mansion had become her sanctuary since she took on the role of personal assistant to Silvio Gesell. Between managing the new beef processing factory in Wyoming and the upscale Kenzo Boutique, her days were filled with tasks, yet she relished the comforts that came with her position. She enjoyed gourmet meals and the convenience of the mini gym, savoring a life she once dreamed of only in fantasies about marrying a wealthy man. Now, her relationship with Silvio provided her with both sexual need and luxury.
Her thoughts were abruptly interrupted by the sound of a car engine revving outside, followed by a familiar voice.
“Knock knock!” The solid hardwood door swung open, revealing Karen Swift, a long-haired woman clad in a stylish double-breasted blazer.
“Welcome home, Karen!” Julia beamed, momentarily forgetting her work. Karen had moved into the mansion just last week, and Julia was excited to have someone else around, even if Karen kept her job at Top G Bank—a detail she hadn’t revealed about her new living situation.
Karen gracefully flopped onto one of the sturdy yet plush sofas, her expression a mix of curiosity and relaxation. She glanced around the room, taking in the elegant furnishings and the large TV that dominated the space. “The Bugatti isn’t here. When did Silvio head out?” she asked, tilting her head slightly, her long hair cascading over her shoulder.
Julia leaned back, a thoughtful expression on her face. “He left after breakfast. Classes at the university, you know how he is.”
Karen nodded, her gaze lingering on the empty space where the luxury car usually parked. “I can’t believe you get to live here. This place is incredible,” she said, her tone laced with awe.
“It has its perks,” Julia replied, a hint of pride in her voice. She knew she was fortunate, and she appreciated the life she had carved out for herself, one filled with opportunity and unexpected romance.
Julia teases the tired working woman, "Karen, it's surprising you accept this life. I have my own circumstances but you can always find other man."
Karen replies, "No. No. It's impossible to find a man richer than him out there. I told you before I will follow Silvio even if I have to become the tenth mistress!"
Julia laughs softly at Karen's dramatic declaration, appreciating her fellow concubine’s humor. “Well, if it ever comes to that, I’ll be sure to give you some tips on how to navigate the mansion’s social scene,” she teases.
Karen smirks, adjusting her blazer. “You’d make an excellent matchmaker. But seriously, how do you do it? Manage his life and still keep your own sanity?”
Julia leaned forward, resting her elbows on her knees. “It’s a balancing act. Sometimes it feels overwhelming, but I genuinely enjoy helping him. Plus, I get to experience a lifestyle I never thought possible.”
Karen raised an eyebrow, intrigued. “And what about the romance? Silvio was your boyfriend and you dumped him. Now you return but as his pet."
Julia hesitated for a moment, her thoughts drifting to Silvio’s charm and the passionate moments they shared. “It has its highs and lows. He’s intense but... there’s a connection that keeps me invested.”
Karen nodded, a knowing smile creeping across her face. “Sounds like you’re in deeper than you let on. Just be careful. This world can be treacherous.”
“I know,” Julia replied, her tone turning serious. “But I’ve never felt more alive. I can handle it.”
“Good. Just remember, I’m here for you. And who knows? Maybe I’ll find my own adventure in this place too,” Karen said, her eyes glinting with ambition.
