"Why should I let him go just because you pleaded? Who are you? Aren't you the one who encouraged them to come rob us. Then all of you should suffer the consequences of your ignorance." Leng Pan didn't show an ounce of mercy just because the woman was pleading.

They were only pleading for mercy because they realized that they were no match for them. However, if she and Lu Zhen didn't have the strength to protect themselves and the family, then they would have suffered humiliation and probably death today.

Why should she show mercy to someone like that? Moreover, the person pleading had no morals at all. She didn't hesitate to betray her husband for some food, what was stopping her from doing it again in the future for something less significant?

"Please, I know I was wrong, let it go just this once. We won't dare to cover your supplies again. Please." The woman continued to plead.

Leng Pan understood that such a selfish woman wasn't pleading for Boss Wang but for herself. She saw that her husband no longer wanted her and if she lost Boss Wang, then she would likely starve to death, therefore, she was just pleading for herself really.

Of course, Juan Ke also knew this, after all, the woman had been his wife for six years. How could such a small trick escape him? However, he didn't say a word to expose her.

This was the last shred of kindness he could show her for the sake of their years of marriage.

On the other hand, Boss Wang who was wishing for death from the pain was overjoyed that a woman as beautiful as Juan Ke's ex-wife would try so hard to beg for him.

Even when she said she was afraid of the childbirth pain, he agreed for them to stay without children to spare her the pain even when his family was urging him to have a baby soon and provide an heir for the family.

He had given everything he could for that marriage, even his dignity as a man, but all he got was a betrayal.

And now, this woman who brazenly betrayed him was on her knees begging him for another man? How ironic.

It was at that moment that he realized that he had made the wrong choice when he chose his wife.

But, it's better that they had separated. He didn't have to be with her anymore.

Lu Zhen never talks much, especially with strangers, but when it comes to Leng Pan, he could break all his taboos.
