Reverse of the Rain

Chapter 08 | Rock and Tusk

“How and when did you get him? Ah! That was the moment you stepped closer. Aria, you’re really smart, using lady tactics against me. You used your beautiful and alluring magic to steal my best friend,” he said, hugged himself tightly and shaken a little.

“Lure Magic?” She grabbed the rock tighter, cracked!, Rocky eyes and body slide into strange shape.

“No, no Aria, please don’t do that! He has done nothing wrong,” He cried.

“Yes, your friend has done nothing, but everyone has a job to do,” Aria said with a grin. “And now, his job is to be bait.”

“I will do it instead of him. Let him go, okay?” he pleaded.

“But you told me you can’t fight a boar,” she said.

“Ah! I tell you the truth. I’m weak, very weak. If I get hit with that tusk, I will surely die!” he said “Look,” he pointed out to the field, “that big boar is taller than me by about two times.”

“That’s why this job should be passed to your friend.” She grabbed Rocky and poured oil on it. A label showed ‘Lure monster XXL by Frugar’. “I will show you how to use lure magic,” she smiled at me before throwing Rocky with all her strength at the far sky.

“Noooo, Aria, you’re so mean!” he cried as he ran after Rocky.

She smile, then said “Ah, I really like this. Stress was all relief, better than have good sleep last night” She then concealed herself within the bush, camouflage in the forest.

He ran as fast as he could, feeling the fresh air on his face. The sound of the wind filled his ears, and he left dirt footprints with every step. Rocky soared high in the sky. “Her strength is truly something,” he thought to myself, knowing that he could catch up to him if he ran in a straight line.

The boar noticed something approaching and took a firm stance on its four feet, preparing for the upcoming fight. Its black fur stood on end, making its body appear larger. Even without using my ‘Eye of Verity’ skill, I could sense that its soul was a reddish color.

The boar was truly massive, but its short legs limited its range. If I could lure it into the high root tree zone, it would move more slowly, allowing me to withstand its attacks for about an hour. Aria would hide somewhere closer by. Right? Or did I have to use my secret skill this time?

Just five feet away from attacking, GRONK! the boar let out a loud growl that echoed through the area, causing trees to sway and birds and insects to scatter. The man continued running, while the boar crouched, preparing to use its dusk tusk dash against the human. But something strange happened. The human slowly stopped running and sat down on the ground, curling up into an oval shape. The sound of the wind passed between the boar and the human. Everything came to a halt. Even the maiden in the forest hold her breath.

“What is he doing?” Aria whispered, while camouflage step closer to the point.

The boar was confused, unsure of what this strange behavior meant. Its instincts told it to stay away from the black figure, but as the proud king of the island, it feared nothing and approached the figure. Using its large tusk, gently poked the figure, causing it to sway and shake slightly. Another poke, and it reacted like a frightened animal, emitting a small sound, “Oink, oink.”

“Oink Oink” Rain said.

Silence for a moment as if a Grater Boar can listen and understand what rain said, it responded.

“GRONK! Gronk, Gronk” Grater Boar said.

“What?” Aria said.

“Oink, Oink Oi, Ouki, Oinkyui” Rain said.

“GRONK! GRONK!” Grater Boar said.

“Is he really speaking... pig language?” Aria wondered.

“Oink Oink, yes my lord black fur,” Rain said in boar language.

“GRONK, In the name of King I will protect you form that Wicked female pig,” Grater Boar declared.

“What are they talking about?” Aria asked, her voice filled with concern. She gripped her sword tightly, unsure of what to do in this unpredictable situation. Even having spent half of her life on daring adventures and facing many dangers, this situation left her feeling completely lost. Human and boar speaking to each other? Was she dreaming?

“Oink Oink, she pulled out all my hair and tusks, forced me to eat dirt, and stole my best friend. She is truly ferocious,” he said, little tear come out of his eyes.

“GRONK! Where is she? Tell me, and I will punish her!” Grater boar roared.

The little pig and Grater Boar looked towards the forest, their intentions unknown to Aria. She remained hidden behind a tree, unsure of what would happen next.

Why looked this way? She quickly checked her camouflage, and it was still completely intact. But why were they looking at her this way? Her thoughts and emotions were all tangled up in her mind. Her eyebrows furrowed, her mouth slightly open, confused by this situation. “Is he trying to sell me... to that boar?”

“Oink, Oink, praise the king of black fur!” Rain said.

“GRONK, I will teach that female pig how to take care of her own husband,” Grater Boar said.

“Oink, Oink, yes, yes, teach her who is the husband... “Ehhhhhhh!” Rain exclaimed. “Oink, Oink, No no, she is not my wife.” Rain clarified.

“GRONK GRON, Do not worry little shy, I will beat her and make her accept you!” Boar said, while using its frontal leg to dig dirt around and its tusk to shovel the dirt onto Rain’s head.

“Oinkyu.. but—” Rain said.

“GRONK! Trust me, she will accept you, my ugly one,” Grater Boar said.

“Oink Oinkyu~ okay~” Rain reluctantly agreed, lowered his head and looked in the direction where Aria was hiding. His eyes filled with sadness and tears welled up as he sought forgiveness and hoped that the maiden would have a kind heart for him.

Not even know that what two pigs talking, both of them have a conspiracy against her. Those two pair’s eyes of two pigs confirm everything. One with a tyrant eye, resembling a captain eager to punish a soldier without knowing the truth, while another the other with a desperate eye, realizing that they had lost control of the situation and its outcome. “I’ll smash you both!” she exclaimed, grabbed her sword and no longer hiding. But before she could move from her hiding spot.

Rocky had returned. After traveling for a long time in the clouds, Rocky finally came back. It fell onto the boar’s nose and then bounced back onto Rain’s head. A sweet pink fragrance bloom filled the air.

“GRONK! Ouch! What is this smell... so sweet?” Grater Boar said.

“Oink, Oink, keep your consciousness, Lord Black Fur,” Rain cautioned, taking a step back from the Black Boar.

The boar’s saliva dripped down onto the dirt, and its eyes turned completely black.

“GRONK! Ugly one, why do you look so beautiful?” it breathed out hot air, making the atmosphere heavier.

“Oink, Oink, my lord, I’m a male pig.” Rain reminded it, trying to calm the situation.

“GRONK! yor male, but beauti-ful, I lik yo” its back fur standing on end. It raked its back legs and kicked dirt behind it.

“Oink, Lord calm—” grabbed a rock nearby.

“GRONK! I can’t re-sist anymore, I will take-care you.” dashed forward with surprising speed, considering its size.

Rain dashed to the left, only inches away from being hit by a task. “Aria! What is this potion, why it is effective like this? Why he turn be a horny animal like this?”

The boar tried to stop its dash but its heavy weight caused it to slide forward, dirt scattered. Then turned back slowly. The surrounding air became denser. In its eyes have no reason anymore.

The boar’s hind legs started digging the dirt again, preparing for an attack. However, Rain was faster and had already launched his own attack. Small rocks flew through the air, hitting the boar’s nose like precise arrows, but only leaving a slight scratch.

“That was my full strength, and it’s your weak point, how tough you are, my lord.” He stance his body prepare for fight. Looked left and right. The forest that Aria stands is far ahead. I can’t fight him head on.

As Rain pondered the situation, the boar looked at him strangely, not showing any signs of anger. It smiled, “GRONKYU! GRONK! GRONKKYU!” saliva dripping d nmown like a fountain. “GRONK! GRONKKKKKK!” Its smile widened, even lowering its eyelids to make its eyes appear smaller but more menacing.

Rain’s arm hair stood on end. “No, this is not alright at all. I can’t be your wife. I’ve already told you I’m a man,” Rain said, bending his knee and grabbing more rocks. He threw all three rocks at the boar, aiming for its weak spots, the nose and ears.

Rock fly fast. But before rocks hit the target, the boar swiftly moved its head left and right, using its tusks to block the stones. The rocks shattered into dust. Both eyes locked onto Rain, heavy breaths escaping from the boar’s nostrils.

Rain’s eyes widened. What is that? So fast, that’s not something a normal animal should be able to do. “Aria! Are you sure you gave it a lure potion and not a berserk potion—”

Suddenly, the boar dashed forward with full force, like an arrow. The wind squeaked as it tore through the air.

Rain quickly jumped to the left, successfully avoiding the charging boar. However, the boar did not stop. It turned its large body around and dashed towards Rain once again.

Whoosh! A black object appeared in the corner of its left eye, causing the boar to turn its head and block it with its tusk. But unexpectedly, the object splashed, covering the boar’s left eye. It was a dirt ball filled with wet grass.

The boar lost sight in its left eye, its direction of attack shifting in pain. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Rain ducked his head and maneuvered his body to the boar’s blind spot on the left. He avoided the fetal attack only with that hair distance.

Bunk! The boar ran fast and crashed into a tree, causing dust and sticks to scatter around.

“I knew it. You’re a really smart guy, being able to block that ball without fail,” Rain said, wiping sweat off his face. “But is that enough?”

“GRONKKKKKK!” A burst of sound caused the trees in the area to sway. At the center of the clash, dust and air were suddenly sucked into one spot. Little by little, the boar’s head turned red with its single right eye becoming red as well.

“Oui! That’s not fair! Why are you angry at me like that? I told you I don’t like you in that way,” he said. Looked around. Trees and rocks around the area. Then he start ran to the right, while focus looked at the boar. Waiting for the boar attack.

The boar’s body grew bigger and bigger, like a balloon filled with air. It bent its knees and jumped into the air, soaring high as if weightless.

“What!” Inside his brain calculate fast even instinct send to him the same word, ‘I can’t stay on ground!’ He ran towards a nearby rock, jumped onto its top, bent his legs like a spring, and leaped with all his strength.

Time seemed to slow down as the boar fell to the ground, crashing and causing the ground to shake. In that split second, the entire area burst open, leaving only the king of the boars and a large pit in the shape of a cross.

Rain flew through the air from the impact, ducking his head and blocking it with his arms. His body slid across the dirt floor, leaving a long trail behind. “Phuw! Phuw! Yuck! dirt and grass all of my mouth” swept dirt and pebbles out of his mount. “Even though I love rocks so much, I don’t eat them, okay?” he said, sitting with his legs crossed, looking at the boar.

“GRONK!” The boar calmly stared back, releasing hot air from its mouth.

Rain slowly stood up, brushing the dirt off his pants. “Oh, you’re finally awake, My Lord,” he said, as the last blow attack released all the toxic effects from his nose.

“GRONK! GRONK!” The boar cried out, kicking the soil behind it.

“No, no! My Lord, I’m not your enemy. How can I fight with a mighty king like you?” Rain tightly gripped a rock. My body aches so much just from the impact. It’s really hard. If I were to get a direct hit, I would surely die. Let me think about it. Every time that boar attacks, it has to suck the surrounding air. I don’t have many choices left. I have to do it!

They both locked eyes with each other.

The boar sucked in air again, the rock came fast flying towards its mouth. But Lord black fur knew the trickiness of the black monkey. It would attack at the crucial moment. It had learned from its mistake of using its tusk to block it, so this time, it slightly tilted its head to let the rock hit its body, causing no damage at all.

When lord black fur saw the shock on that monkey’s face and immediately started running to save its own life. It took The Boar back to a time when I was the King of this island, freely roaming the forest. Every animal would run or fly to the sky when they sensed my presence. Even the strongest beasts would try to fight me, but they all ended up defeated at my feet. And now, you, little monkey, shall meet the same fate.

Suddenly, a leg boar burst from the dirt, dashing towards its target in a flash.

The monkey looked shocked and panicked. It tried to escape to my right side, throwing a dirt ball to trick me once again. I simply moved my head slightly, causing it to hit my left cheek.

But something strange stirred in my gut. That black monkey smiled wildly at me and said, “My lord, have I mentioned that my friend is in the forest and she is truly ferocious?”
