Chapter 127: For Justice
A blue light shimmered in Bai Shou's third eye before releasing a wavy, water-like glow that expanded from the deepest point of her pupil, mimicking a pyramid with a triangular base—a tetrahedron. The triangular base of the tetrahedron covered the prisoner—
*Tss*
Bai Shou's eyes widened. The prisoner's flesh, blood, and skin stripped instantly and flew at her. However, when she stopped using the Killer Move, the gore instantly dropped with a wet, echoing noise.
*Pacha*
The prisoner was dead.
Meanwhile, Bai Shou used the Invisibility Gu to escape, knowing someone must have heard the disturbance.
'Well, some good that Killer Move did,' Bai Shou huffed. She had a prototype of the Killer Move in mind but couldn't work out its kinks without practice. The only thing she was sure of was preventing a backlash due to enough experience with the Gu.
As for the Killer Move—Scan The Dao?
It was supposed to be an Investigation-Type Killer Move instead of an Offensive one. As for why didn't she use it on the materials at hand or anything else in the village?
The materials Bai Shou possessed were rare and of the extinct variety. Now that she was pressed for better Gu or dealing with the suppression on her current set, Bai Shou did not want to chew through these materials once she set out to form the Killer Move—so, they could not be ruined. And practicing the killer move on villagers or her nearby surroundings exposed a safe spot Bai Shou barely held onto. It was more reasonable in her mind to invade the Sect and use their prison, leaving the Gu Masters confused.
Again, there was no way to practice on any other idle surroundings without having the move's accidental backlash lead things back to her.
This way—she could travel and target the sect without exposing a possible resting location.
After everything, Bai Shou had even fewer concerns about Life and Death than success and failure.
'What should I change in the Killer Move?' Bai Shou wondered as she escaped the Sect and hid near the plain's outskirts. Needless to say, she wasn't done abusing the sect's prison.
'Derivation Mind is necessary to act as the blank canvas upon which the Particle Viewing Gu would imprint the structure of Dao's fragment.'
'Heaven and Earth Before My Eyes Gu is the medium of using the Killer Move so that it doesn't consume said target. However, what I achieved was the opposite. The Particle Viewing Gu tried to devour the material through the Gu, which would have injured it.'
'Half Transformation Gu is the glue between Particle Viewing and the Eye Gu. The Killer Move uses the shard of partial transformation within the Gu to extrapolate only the partial effect of Particle Viewing, its scanning ability—'
Bai Shou stopped, realizing her mistake.
'The Particle Viewing Gu only scans the Dao Shard within a Gu after devouring it. It's a rare Gu Worm that combines nurturing and using in one act. However, the consumption of Gu is not only for feeding itself but also to break the target material or Gu into its purest form for it to scan and project!'
'I cannot expect to separate the scanning portion of the Gu Worm's ability from the consumption without adding appropriate Gu.'
'Do I have any prospective Gu Worm for that?'
She fell thoughtful before smiling.
'Let's try again.'

The Rhino Stomp Sect welcomed 17 Gu Masters with B-grade aptitudes and 2 Gu Masters with A-grade aptitudes. In comparison, such a number would be ridiculous in a mid-sized clan, indicating how advanced the sects were regarding the quality of their trained Gu Masters.
What should have been a joyous period of observing a boost in morale within the sect instead turned into a month of fear and uncertainty as a faint sense of morbid pressure burdened everybody's shoulders.
Tall and surprisingly lean, the Rhino Stomp Sect's Sect Leader stared outside his window with a dark expression.
"So, we couldn't catch the Demonic Gu Master…" His deep voice rumbled in the room as ominously as the crackling dark clouds above the sect.
"The murders stopped after the 12th victim," replied one of the Elders. "However, the culprit was experienced at dealing with Formations and didn't strike our treasury or disciples."
Another Elder gulped before hissing. "Those bodies also looked better with each victim. The culprit was creating an offensive Killer Move using our prisoners."
"Do you think it's a Blood Path Demonic Gu Master?" chimed another Elder, casting a source of worry in the mix.
"It's been nine years since a new Gu Master with the accursed Blood Path Gu rose in the Spirit Plains," The Sect Leader whispered. "We took care of the Blood Path Inheritance that those bandits used years ago. If it is the accursed Blood Path… the Demonic Gu Master is not from around here, or someone uncovered a new Inheritance hidden near us all along."
"We cannot be sure if the culprit is still around, Sect Leader," counseled one of the aged Elders. "Should we invite a Wisdom Path Gu Master to put this matter to rest? Everyone in the sect will continue to doubt and fear their safety unless we request someone with a magnificent reputation. We can resume our operations after concluding the matter on the surface and continue investigating."
The Sect Leader momentarily considered the advice before nodding.
"Do you have someone in mind, Elder Ku?"
The aged Elder smiled.
"Many heroes emerge daily due to the Refinement Convention peeking through the horizon. I heard about an elite roaming the eastern bank of Pot River."
"Oh?" The Sect Leader looked back, intrigued.
"He's called Wisdom Carriage Master."
"Ah, I heard about him. It's said he travels in a carriage with a giant horse sculpture atop it," Another Elder informed as the Aged Elder nodded.
"I know slightly more. The carriage is a rare Wisdom Path Gu. Anyone who resides in the carriage will find their thoughts flowing smoothly, which helps in thinking. As for the horse sculpture… Wisdom Carriage Master just likes horses."
"And where is he now?" The Sect Leader recovered his mood, appearing less gloomy.
"He is still staying with the Brown Pot Sect, Sect Leader."
"Hmm, send him an invitation."
'Alright!' Bai Shou smiled. Her third eye projected a blue tetrahedron that covered the sleeping target before allowing her to visualize the body in strange lines and colors. These lines and colors moved, ejecting themselves from the target and condensing into the same sleeping form within the projection before shooting up into Bai Shou's third eye.
'Success!'
It was the 30th successful use of the Killer Move, allowing Bai Shou to feel confident.
Rank 3 Derivation Mind.
Rank 5 Perceivable Dao.
Rank 5 Heaven and Earth Before My Eyes Gu.
Rank 5 Half Transformation Gu.
Rank 5 Particle Viewing Gu.
Bai Shou tested several Gu before settling on Perceivable Dao. It looked like a multi-segmented ant with a round head and black carapace.
The intriguing aspect of the Perceivable Dao was its shared ability with Particle Viewing Gu.
When used alone, the Perceivable Dao Gu would release a curtain of starlight upon the target, making the latter's body reveal the Dao marks it contains and its type.
For instance, when shone upon Bai Shou, she revealed some Information Path Dao Marks, alongside Human and Soul Paths, through her soul and a dense number of mortal Strength Path dao marks on her body among other things.
But that was it.
Although boasting a similar ability, Perceivable Dao could never achieve Particle Viewing Gu Worm's intended objective—to connect the past with the present!
While Perceivable Dao revealed the type of Dao Marks, the Particle Viewing Gu did that and more by displaying the arrangement of the Dao!
For instance, when Bai Shou used the Killer Move—Scan The Dao—on herself, the Killer Move assembled the dao marks to mimic the shape of her body while retaining the shards of beast phantoms carved into her flesh, the body refinement dao, and more!
'With the Killer Move finalized, I can save the rare Gu for later use or feed all of them to the Dreamer Gu!' Her eyes brightened at the thought. It increased her efficiency by a considerable margin.
'Next, let's refine that Gu Worm.'
Her smile turned wicked as she expertly strolled within the prison like it was her bedroom before finding her target.
A human was crucial in the revised Human Adaptive Qi Gu recipe.
However, it could not be a Gu Master.
After all, one's awakened Aperture is the cause of the suppression from the regional qi. However, mortal civilians without awakened Apertures could effortlessly navigate the Qi Walls and enter other lands unhindered.
So, in a twisted manner, the most adaptive was a human without an aperture!
And she'd already had her eyes on a prisoner for a while.
'Hm?'
Bai Shou felt the familiar weight on her shoulders, and Apertures partially lifted and vanished into thin air, forcing her to stop momentarily before she sighed in relief.
Her body acclimated to the Central Continent's regional qi by a slight margin, allowing her to display Rank 3 Peak Stage output from the first aperture and Initial Stage Rank 5 output from the second.
'Good,' Bai Shou's gaze glimmered.

*Drr*
A red and brown ceremonial carriage with two large wooden wheels rolled on the ground without any animal pulling it. On the roof was a horse sculpture carved from gold. This carriage was not an ordinary vehicle. To a Gu Master's perception, the carriage surprisingly released a Rank 5 Aura!
The rhinoceros herds looked up from their grazing spots, tossing curious glances at the new arrival before allowing breakfast to occupy their minds again. These beast groups were not the Steed Gu, but the materials for refining said Rank 3 Gu. The cube ceremonial carriage was an uncommon Rank 5 House Gu.
It moved at an even and steady pace, avoiding larger stones and deeper clumps of grass that could obstruct the wheels. The life-like golden horse sculpture glinted sharply under the harsh afternoon sun.
Soon, the carriage stopped near a fortress built upon the gentle slope occupying the plain's center. Flags and banners indicating the Rhino Stomp Sect's insignia fluttered with the gentle wind. Welcoming the carriage's owner was none other than the Sect's Leader alongside two eldest Elders.
The welcome was definitely unusual. The entrance was left as is, guards allowed to be at ease, and the sect's disciples uninformed. There was nothing gaudy or lavish.
"Ah," a figure opened the carriage's door, walking out with a glistening bald head and a sunny smile. "Greetings, Sect Leader. I'm grateful you agreed to my request of no special arrangements."
The ends and long, loose sleeves of the grey robes around the man swayed as the carriage behind him condensed into a red light and entered his abdomen.
*Thud*
The golden horse sculpture slammed onto the ground, slightly digging into the fertile soil and the surrounding grass.
"Greetings, Sir Wise Carriage Master," the Sect Leader promptly welcomed the man, unwilling to spare any etiquette against an Initial Stage Rank 5 Gu Master.
Their guest boasted surprisingly sharp eyes and uncharacteristically thick lips. His nose was small and round, boasting extraordinarily wide nostrils. Even more prominent was his facial hair, which did not grow above his lips, portion of his cheeks, and jaws. Instead, his short, dense, and curly beard concealed a significant share of the underside of his chin and neck.
"Greetings, Lord!" The two elders swiftly cupped their fists, unfazed by the eccentric appearance.
"I'm grateful for the invitation, Sect Leader Lin," Wisdom Carriage Master smiled. "It is always a rare sight to encounter a Demonic Gu Master daring enough to target the Sects. Even though I helped solve some crimes and resolve a few conflicts here and there, it's my first time encountering such an issue after emerging from my cave."
"You jest, Sir," Sect Leader quickly replied. "The Rhino Stomp Sect is the grateful party." His deep voice rumbled with unconcealed disgust. "The atrocious murders under our roof spared no effort to disrupt the disciples' cultivation. Although we understand why you asked us to dispense away with the necessary formalities… the Sect would have loved to welcome someone of your valor with utmost appreciation!"
Wisdom Carriage Master shook his head.
"Never look down on a thief, robber, and murderer. Their kind and potential is the stuff of Legends, birthing two peerless figures!" He punctuated each word with unveiled admiration. "As for a warm welcome? How are kind words different from a banquet? Every welcome is warm and appreciative to a still mind and tranquil heart."
The Rank 5 Gu Expert smiled. "Please allow my sculpture to momentarily disrupt your Sect's beauty. I dislike storing such a thing of grace and beauty in my Storage Gu."
"Of course," Sect Leader nodded. "It is our honor to accommodate such beautiful craftsmanship. I will have the guards look out for it."
"That is fine," Wisdom Carriage chuckled. "I understand you must have prepared for my rest. However, let me observe the sight of crime before anything. The intention behind asking you to not prepare anything extra was to keep the culprit from being cautious should they still be around. The hastier we act, the better."
The Sect Leader agreed. The shroud of fear from widespread rumors about the phantom killer roaming their prison had damaged morale as is. It was a particularly delicate period since it was the beginning of the year, a period for the recently awakened disciples to acclimate themselves to their new lives.
The word of confirmation about the murderer's departure, or even better, capturing the rogue demon, would instead become a fortunate event probably celebrated the entire year!
The four individuals entered the underground prison, where the Wisdom Carriage Master began asking questions about the victims. Of the 12 victims, the first one was the most gruesome, and the last was the tamest. Being prisoners, all these victims must have crossed the Rhino Stomp Sect in one way or another. The Righteous Faction was the law, so a few prisoners existed for the sole reason of being disrespectful.
But Wisdom Carriage Master soon encountered the first issue.
"You predicted the demonic Gu Master was conceptualizing an Offensive Killer Move, more precisely, a Blood Path Killer Move. However, the string of clues suggests another story. First, the Demonic Gu Master wasn't motivated by the prisoner's past since everyone was different. The only connection between these victims was that the culprit somehow discovered loopholes in the patrol routine and exploited it."
The eccentric Wisdom Path Gu Master turned to the Sect Leader. "Did your prepared surveiling Gu capture nothing?"
"We didn't detect any sound, scent, vision, or movement until it was too late," the Sect Leader frowned, slightly uncomfortable by how their preparations meant shit.
"Hmm, either the culprit has a rare Gu to conceal all these aspects or a spectacular concealment Killer Move. There's also a possibility that our suspect is hidden in plain sight and has an outstanding Investigation Gu… or a Killer Move for that aspect."
Sect Leader's eyelids jumped in alarm.
"Sir, you don't mean–"
"Ah, I don't want you to feel suspicious," Wisdom Carriage Master smiled. "I'm just trying to perceive things from a broader perspective and consume as much input as possible before I begin deducing the matter."
They observed the crime locations before Wisdom Carriage Master retreated into the prepared dwellings. To the Sect's surprise, Wisdom Carriage Master emerged within another hour, taking another trip into the prison.
This time, he used a few Gu to search for clues, then returned to deduce the matter.
The rotation of inspecting the prison and retreating into his room, obsessing over one detail for hours before jumping onto the next, continued for three days and nights.
The Sect Leader's worry increased every day. Wisdom Carriage Master was vague regarding his discoveries and limited his interactions, so there wasn't any chance to form a connection with the Rank 5 Expert. The Sect would have suspected Wisdom Carriage Master to be a scammer had it not been for the Wisdom Path Gu Master's reluctance to accept 'considerations.'
The odd-looking expert differed from ordinary depictions of the cunning Wisdom Path Gu Masters. The Sect Leader would know. One of the competing mid-sized sects in the region was led by a moderately accomplished Metal Path Gu Master who chanced onto a set of Wisdom Path Gu Worms that barely qualified as an Incomplete Inheritance. Even that slight boon proved to be a qualitative shift since the Green River Sect rose beyond belief this decade.
"I have discovered something," Wisdom Carriage Master emerged with a warm smile. "Please, follow me."
He led the Sect Leader to a prisoner.
"Him?" The aged Elder Ku blinked before shooting the Sect Leader a cautious glance.
"Oh," Wisdom Carriage Master instantly noticed something. "Is there something peculiar about this young man?" Indeed, the prisoner was a pale, sickly-looking man in his mid-twenties. His presence was like a sore thumb since he was the only mortal confined in the prison.
Sect Leader issued a soft sigh before answering.
"He's my unfilial son," the man began, a distinct fury invading his speech. "Or so that lying scum I used to call my beloved had me believing. But this child was untalented and weak, nothing like me. Though using the Gu confirmed our blood connection, it was likely that bitch's method. I dealt with her but couldn't fault the child until he chose to defy me by trying to steal and escape the sect."
Despite the fury, a wave of complicated emotion flickered in the man's eyes as his tone softened. "He'll learn to—"
"Hah!" Wisdom Carriage Master suddenly exhaled. "That's a relief. I thought the prisoner was someone important." His tone was as caring and jovial as when he introduced himself to the group. He looked at the Sect Master with a chilling smile that didn't meet his sharp gaze. Wisdom Carriage's disproportionate features further chilled the spectator's spine.
"The mysterious Demonic Gu Master was not only practicing a Killer Move, but they also refined something inside the prison. This man is the most crucial clue…"
His tone gradually weakened as the Sect Leader's son stirred due to the noise.
"Since he is evidently unimportant…" Wisdom Carriage hummed, the underlying intent in his tone turning the Sect Leader's expression ugly.
"Surely, there is another method," Sect Leader spoke after a quiet minute.
Wisdom Carriage turned on his heels. His observant gaze pinned the Sect's Higher-Ups in their spots as he gently patted the Sect Leader's shoulder while exerting a pulse of his Rank 5 aura to drive home the fact his words weren't a request.
"Righteous men are known not for their victories but their sacrifices, Sect Leader. I vowed to uphold justice for the institution formed by Humanity's first hero and savior. You and the Rhino Stomp Sect are free to challenge that oath. However, I hope you reconsider what you should sacrifice in such a scenario."
Wisdom Carriage didn't wait for a reply and turned to leave, allowing his words to slither like poisonous serpents around the group.
"I shall continue to look through the clue tomorrow morning. I hope you've made your peace by then."

Spread the Qi Surface Powder around the mortal, allowing it to extract the mortal's formless Adaptive Qi. Temper it using other surrounding Gu Master's aura. To accomplish that– use the Qi Surface powder around the other Gu Masters and store the expelled Qi using Small Family Qi Gu. It was one of the many revisions Bai Shou employed within the modified recipe, and it concluded with interesting results.
In her hand was a pale white cockroach that appeared disgusting and holy simultaneously. Its size was the same as an ordinary insect terrorizing several households with diseases until it was caught and cooked.
The Rank 3 Human Adaptive Qi Gu.
It was the crystallization of months of dedicated calculations. Just achieving two things—forming the Killer Move 'Scan The Dao' and modifying the recipe—took months. However, both these achievements boasted Bai Shou's understanding of the Human, Rule, and Refinement Paths.
The modified recipe could have allowed Bai Shou to refine a Rank 5 Gu if there was any Rank 5 Gu Master around. The new recipe heavily relied on the quality of humans in the vicinity, and the prisoners did not boast a rank above 3.
It was one of the disadvantages of the recipe.
However, the two significant advantages of the modifications were that Bai Shou could reuse the materials—the humans—after a set duration and that she did not need to wait to use the Gu.
The Human Adaptive Qi Gu was a storage Gu capable of identifying and extracting a unique Adaptive Qi from humans and other living beings, the source of their ability to acclimate with different regions' Regional Qi. Of course, collecting said Qi took some time. The modified recipe supplemented the efficiency by eliminating the stated time limit.
This change should not be confused with Bai Shou accidentally inventing a new Gu. If anything, this shift boasted the underlying aspects of a Killer Move. Bai Shou merely supplemented additional Adaptive Qi during the refinement process since Humans were an excellent material! So, the Human Adaptive Qi she refined did not need extra time to collect Adaptive Qi.
These two advantages outperformed the downsides of the modified recipe.
'I should—' Bai Shou's expression suddenly twisted. A sense of deep pressure blossomed from her abdomen, making her feel something gigantic was forcing its way against her flesh and organs. Cold sweat escaped her pores as she took shallow breaths within the modified cave a few hours from the Spirit Plains.
It took a few minutes to recollect her bearings. Although used to pain several times more severe, Bai Shou couldn't help but feel weakened due to her recovering soul. More than that, the pain emerged from the depths of her Aperture.
She was 'full.'
Usually, a Gu Master could house a Gu beyond their current rank. For instance, it wasn't unheard of for a Rank 4 Gu Master to store a dozen Rank 5 Gu within their Aperture. Sure, the difference in the rank created a slight pressure since the Aperture wasn't nurtured enough to house the Dao Shard at the level of a Rank 5 Gu, but it was never an immediate issue.
Bai Shou also used to have several Rank 5 Gu.
But the situation changed inside the Ba Gui Blessed Land. The Land Spirit's obsession was to refine the Rank 6 Second Aperture Immortal Gu. Alongside the Divine Travel Immortal Gu, the recipe involved several extinct and precious materials and a little over 5000 Gu Worms!
There were over 600 Rank 4 Gu and 87 Rank 5 Gu, including 10 Yellow Gold Relic and 8 Purple Relic Gu.
Bai Ning Bing and Hu Mei Er used 3 Yellow Gold Relics and 6 Purple Relics to advance to Peak Stage Rank 5 cultivation. Furthermore, they chose several Gu to initiate an assault against the Immortal.
However, it still left several thousand Gu Worms behind!
All of these were forcibly shoved into Bai Shou's Aperture.
Most Rank 1-3 Gu were useless because of the Regional Qi's suppression. Their only use was to act as materials for the refinement of other Gu Worms and for Bai Shou to use the Scan The Dao Killer Move on them. After all, they were still of the rare and extinct variety.
Meanwhile, she planned to use most of the Rank 4 Gu to advance her Dreamer Gu.
'Huff…' She exhaled.
Bai Shou had months to relive San Cha's event in her head and realized one core mistake.
Since the attack and backlash had muddled most of her mind, she never considered one possibility.
'I could have become the Land Spirit's owner,' she thought. 'It would have been effortless to lie about my Second Aperture as the effect of the Second Aperture Immortal Gu. The Land Spirit only knew the recipe and wanted someone to refine it. Refine, Use, and Nurture are the three significant aspects of Gu Cultivation. Since I had the Second Aperture, I could have spun a tale about how I used the Second Aperture Immortal Gu after refining it.'
But the Second Aperture was one of Bai Shou's most well-kept secrets. When injured, her mind was solely focused on her survival and maintained the rest of her thoughts as is. So, she hadn't even considered all this back then.
'But becoming the Land Spirit's owner during the assault would not have changed the outcome. The Land Spirit would have still sent me away and left me with most of the materials.'
She shook her head.
'The results could have been different if I became the Blessed Land's owner a few weeks before the attack. But how can I just time travel?' She smiled bitterly before her expression froze.
'I HAVE traveled back in time… once.'
She recalled Gu Yue Mo Bei and his maid, who successfully lured a Beast King to assassinate her.
'Can dying take me back in time?' Bai Shou considered the back of a white-haired devil reflected in her gaze as the latter took the fight to an Immortal without fear.
It was just her impulsive side.
At the end of the day, Bai Shou wasn't cornered enough, like in her previous life, to commit suicide.
But the thought of doing things over was more than tantalizing.
She could save Mo Yan from her demise, snatch Shen Cui at his whims once she puckered her courage to just climb into his bed naked, fuck the living shit out of Bai Ning Bing before she became an annoying guy, and probably avoid Chen Jiu, get his groove on with Xin Ci, and get Hu Mei Er where he wanted, on 'his' lap.
'Fuck,' she sighed. There was no point in fantasizing. What was lost may never be recovered…
'Unless…' She mused.
Hadn't she already surpassed Imaginative Strength by a step after condensing an appropriate Killer Move to unleash the Particle Viewing Gu Worm's potential?
Didn't she modify Glorious Gacha Demon's invention to suit her current condition?
'To every problem exists a solution.' Bai Shou's gaze experienced a quiet shift. She suppressed the burst of inspiration and excitement in her heart. 'Every Gu Master and Immortal are only excellent if they learn and successfully become problem solvers. Imaginative Strength wanted to equate the past with the present, so he invented the Particle Viewing Gu. Glorious Gacha Demon was probably an Otherworldly Demon like me and wished to explore the World. So, he materialized the Human Adaptive Qi Gu to tackle the Regional Qi's suppression.'
'Am I the only one ass-fucked by consequences and sudden accidents? No. In the vast Gu World… someone must have felt the same as me and had enough talent and resources to achieve a form of Time Travel. It already exists. I experienced it once for some strange reason. So, the same effect can be repeated.'
Bai Shou grew calm and gazed at the Rank 3 Human Adaptive Qi Gu in her hand.
'But those are distant concerns. What should I use the Gu on?' Bai Shou mused. She had three options. First, use the Rank 3 Gu and help 10 Rank 3 or fewer Rank 4 Gu. Second, advance it to Rank 5. Third, developing another Killer Move to rectify the Human Adaptive Qi Gu Worm's expendable nature.
Frankly, Bai Shou was the least keen on the third option. She didn't plan to nurture the Human Adaptive Qi Gu as part of her primary Gu Set. To spend time and effort developing a Killer Move for it currently boasted no incentive aside from helping free more Rank 3 Gu Worms. However, that situation was already covered since Bai Shou's modified recipe boasted superb reusability of the materials.
The second option was a must. Bai Shou had several Rank 5 Gu, which was crucial for her strength.
As for the first choice…
Bai Shou's personal stock of Rank 3 Gu Worms was limited to Brave Thoughts, Brave Will, Three Tasks At Once, and Derivation Mind. She also had a few Rank 3 Gu from Hu Mei Er and hundreds from Ba Gui Land Spirit. None of these were an immediate need.
The same Rank 3 Human Adaptive Qi Gu could help acclimate three Rank 4 Gu, and five Rank 3 Human Adaptive Qi Gu barely worked on one Rank 5 Gu.
Before escaping the Eastern Sea Region, Li Xian refined 5 Rank 3 Human Adaptive Qi Gu for his Rank 5 Sustenance Gu. His Human Adaptive Qi Gu Worms also suffered suppression when he arrived at the Southern Border. Furthermore, he collected materials to refine a Rank 3 Human Adaptive Qi Gu again.
Refined in the Southern Border, the new Rank 3 Adaption Qi Gu was used on the ones he fused in the Eastern Seas. Ultimately, those five Adaption Qi Gu Worms alleviated the suppression burdening the Sustenance Gu, allowing Li Xian to spend decades searching for enough materials to achieve the same with his Rank 5 Invisibility Gu.
Bai Shou did not have the luxury of waiting months for each refinement and steadily accumulating five Rank 3 Human Adaptive Qi Gu. More than that, it would be foolish, given her resources, since she could take care of the suppression of a few key Gu Worms capable of multiplying her efficiency.
The materials involving Second Aperture's refinement included several Refinement Path Gu and materials.
Of those, she found interest in two Gu.
Rank 4 Treasure Light Gu.
Rank 4 Smooth Success Gu.
The Treasure Light Gu was a Light Path Gu capable of appraising materials. The greater the light from the Gu, the better the item's value. Furthermore, the glow of Gu Worm could also spread in a limited area to seek hidden treasures. Bai Shou believed she could incorporate the Gu into her Scan The Dao Killer Move.
Meanwhile, the Rank 4 Smooth Success Gu allowed a Gu Master's Refinement process to become less convoluted. Essentially, the Smooth Success Gu ensured that, when used, the Gu Master's control over the refinement process multiplied drastically. Like always, there were limitations to the Gu Worm's upper limits, but Bai Shou felt the Gu would make a satisfactory improvement to her Undefeated Refinement Palms Killer Move.
'And now that I have Scan The Dao, I need to use it on all the extinct Gu before I allow the Dreamer Gu to use them and advance them to Rank 5!'

A/N: A reader already mentioned how Bai Ning bing kissing Lo Jik may have created a reward. That's true. There should have been a reward but I forgot. It is a plot hole I cannot explain away by saying some stupid shit like Bai Ning Bing didn't use tongue because we all know he wouldn't hesitate to violate the sanctity of Bai Shou's mouth. Indeed, Bai Ning Bing ruined Bai Shou for other men and being so useless, I forgot to add a reward.
