Chapter 122: Neither Verdant Nor Great

The Blessed Land discovered upon San Cha used to possess three entrances. Entering through those openings divided and restricted the Gu Masters. Those who entered the yellow light pillar would be confined by the Blessed Land's Heavenly Power to remain in the region occupied by King Quan's Dog Beast Groups.

Entering from the blue light pillar pitted the Gu Masters against the Hairy Men group once nurtured by King Xin. Lastly, entering the red light pillar allowed the outsiders to compete against another variant human group, the Eggmen.

The Blessed Land also had other rules, the most prominent of which was the restriction of the Gu Worms within the Gu Masters, including using Gu on the body. For instance, a Strength Path Gu Master like Lo Jik was similar to an ordinary human despite careful body refinement. It was because Blessed Land's origin was transcended and could suppress the shards of dao carved into the body, mind, and soul using Mortal Gu Worms.

However, the Blessed Land was old, and its structure was rotten. Peculiar mortal Gu, like the Rank 5 Heaven and Earth Before My Eyes, could already see through its weak spots because the border between the Blessed Land and the Gu World weakened to a pitiful degree.

Blowing open the weak spot connected the two worlds, allowing the Blessed Land's Heavenly Power to flow out and reunite with its origin!

The loss of the Heavenly Power was disastrous since it was the driving force behind the rules restricting the Mortal Gu Masters!

Although it sounded terrific for the Mortal Gu Masters, the loss of the Heavenly Power wasn't a consistent factor because of one thing—time dilation!

The flow of time within the Blessed Land was three times that of the Gu World. So, even if rapidly weakening, the Blessed Land's Heavenly Power couldn't escape instantly and had to follow the rules of time—to steadily leave the opening and meld with the outside world in the time flow consistent with the Gu World!

Still, the effects were immediate since the Blessed Land couldn't relocate Lo Jik and Bai Ning Bing the second they entered the Blessed Land.

Yes, that was the good news…

The bad news was…

*Swish*

"Gu Yue Lo Jik!" A terrifying Qilin chased after them as the armor around its body steadily broke apart!

Again, the rule restricting the Mortal Gu Worms hadn't perished but weakened. Lo Jik could only control one Gu Worm. Meanwhile, his body barely retained the strength of a Rank 2 Gu Master with a Beast Strength carved onto him.

"Here, control the Elephant."

Lo Jik's thoughts stirred. Even the Brave Thoughts in his mind and the Brave Will in his soul were sluggish. Forming any Killer Move was out of the question!

So, Lo Jik swiftly allowed Bai Ning Bing to control the Elephant steed at the expense of poor control while summoning another Gu Worm. After all, allowing Bai Ning Bing to borrow the elephant allowed Lo Jik to use one more Gu.

"Jump!"

Lo Jik hissed as the terrifying Qilin was upon them. Trying to outrun the Qilin with the Rank 4 Elephant Steed was, unfortunately, a ridiculous dream since the Wind Qilin was one of the swiftest beasts in midair. The lack of control from Wu Ji would only assist Lo Jik so far.

Indeed, the Elephant had served its purpose.

Lo Jik and Bai Ning Bing jumped at once as a dark greyish-brow light rapidly expanded after escaping Lo Jik's aperture.

*Prrrnnnnn*

The Elephant Steed Gu trumpeted painfully as Wu Ji's chomped it in half!

Meanwhile, Lo Jik and Bai Ning Bing slammed into the Thousand Li Earthwolf Spider's back with strained grunts as the Rank 5 Steed Gu's rough landing didn't stop it from instantly drilling through the coarse ground.

"Stop!"

Why would he?

Lo Jik chose to exploit the Wind Qilin's weakness. The Elephant couldn't compete with it in midair. Though aggressive, the Rank 5 Blood River Python wasn't as robust as the Qilin unless Lo Jik created the appropriate conditions and lured Wu Ji into a blood pool to maximize the Blood River Python's advantages.

The land was the Qilin's weakness, and Lo Jik had the most appropriate Gu Worm.

"Phew!"

Bai Ning Bing and Lo Jik shielded themselves from the debris by sticking close to the Spider's body as it drilled deep into the ground before Lo Jik maneuvered it to return to the opening they had created.

"Almost lost our necks to Wu Ji," Bai Ning Bing chuckled. "But that should do what you want to achieve, right?"

Lo Jik glanced at the youth before nodding. Bai Ning Bing had clearly speculated a few things about Lo Jik's objectives. It wasn't surprising. They had shared so much that Bai Ning Bing's ignorance of the Little Giant King's schemes would have been more shocking.

"Now, we leave," Lo Jik sighed. They had fulfilled the convoluted bits of the plan. All remained for Lo Jik to use the corpses he had Li Xian prepare. Hu Mei Er would be waiting nearby after she and Li Xian incited the remaining Demonic Forces to attack the Blessed Land and make it look like someone got a lucky shot at Lo Jik in the chaos!

Even if Wu Ji and others wanted to believe it was another matter.

They might try searching for him… but Lo Jik would be long gone!

As for Li Xian…

Lo Jik commanded the man to commit suicide after achieving his purpose.

Since Lo Jik had flown quite a bit into the Blessed Land to lure Wu Ji from the entrance, it took some time to approach the opening—

*Drrrrrrr*

The ground trembled as Lo Jik and Bai Ning Bing glanced at each other.

Others were already penetrating and widening the opening!

"Finally," Lo Jik whispered as he sensed the restrictions around him loosen. He mobilized the Rank 5 Eye Gu to look beyond the ground.

The coverage was enough for Lo Jik to notice Wu Ji backtracking. She had already surpassed Lo Jik but was stopped by Tie Mu Bai and Wu Gui.

But what Lo Jik saw further made him frown.

"Oh?" Bai Ning Bing blinked. "Didn't you say it would take longer for the restriction to vanish? I can already sense four Gu Worms," Bai Ning Bing blinked.

"Hmm? What's wrong?"

Bai Ning Bing grew puzzled as Lo Jik stopped using the Spider Gu to dig through the ground.

He could already sense it…

Due to being his Vital Human, Lo Jik had the same connection with Hu Mei Er as with the Borrow Strength and Hope Gu.

Hu Mei Er entered the Blessed Land.

"Why?" Lo Jik muttered. She was supposed to wait outside for Lo Jik before they left.

Lo Jik worked his jaw before changing directions.

"Something happened," Lo Jik informed Bai Ning Bing. "Everyone is rushing inside the Blessed Land without fighting each other."

<<<>>>

Hu Mei Er's heart didn't stop pounding in her chest. Her once ravishing features were now pale and matted with cold sweat since she was one of the few Gu Masters who didn't stop running despite entering the Blessed Land. Others only stopped and crowded the entrance out of shock and curiosity—both of which emerged at the wrong time.

Meanwhile, Hu Mei Er knew more than others. She had an Immortal as a grandmother, and she didn't take another second to contact the woman when she witnessed the previous attack.

Currently, her only chance of survival was to quickly locate her lover and hide in a hole until her Granny Mei Hua arrived; consequences be damned!

As Lo Jik observed, Hu Mei Er wasn't precisely a slave like Li Xian, who chose to dove into the attack and die without leaving anything behind. While Hu Mei Er's desires and thought process were utterly wrapped around Lo Jik's whims to the extent she agreed to dupe her grandmother and travel to the Central Continent with him, it was those same emotions and drive that encouraged Hu Mei Er to go against Lo Jik's desire and notify Li Mei Hua for their survival.

Being a prominent Gu Master with outstanding survival skills, Hu Mei Er boasted several Investigation Gu Worms alongside a Killer Move to scout the souls of living beings.

She effortlessly avoided beast groups and rushed across a peculiar region.

King Bao's entrance brought the Gu Masters to a modified land covered by volcanic rocks and protected by the Red Eggmen. Ordinarily, Hu Mei Er would want nothing to do but search for the Eggmen's Empress and kill them. However, she understood fate only afforded them literal minutes to plan their survival!

A minute in the outside world was three minutes in the Blessed Land.

So, she carefully but swiftly traveled the land and used the connection between her lover to locate him without alerting others.

It was evident Lo Jik sensed her, much to Hu Mei Er's relief, as she sensed their distance shortening at a breakneck pace.

Aside from the random few who stayed near the entrance, most of the Demonic Gu Masters and others began plundering everything within seconds.

Though shocked by the previous attack, most Gu Masters expected it to be a move from a Rank 5 Gu Master. Avoiding such peerless experts should be manageable within the Blessed Land, and they began to fight each other to collect materials from the Beast Groups or any rare plant they encountered.

The Blessed Land was a literal treasure trove for refinement materials that would sell for a fortune in the outside world.

How could such wealth not move others?

The effect of such treasure was even more prominent on the Demonic Gu Masters, who had to risk everything in their lives.

The conflict rose as the restrictions around their Gu Worms dampened.

Corpse Dogs were the first Beast Group to fall prey to the Gu Masters before attacks turned on each other.

Blood flowed ceaselessly, painting the dull and infertile land red.

Two Gu Masters worked in unison, uncommon among the Demonic Faction. Trust was challenging to nurture and easy to destroy. These two were the assassination duo Meng Tu and Jiao Huang, who once tried to target Lo Jik and Bai Ning Bing before the latter used Li Xian to have the duo assassinate Yi Chong.

They moved fluidly, killing a few Gu Masters who displayed momentary weakness before looting whatever treasures they could and moving on to the next target. Such was the deadly norm of the Gu World. The circumstances forced even the mightiest to constantly fear one rule—survival of the fittest. After all, being mighty never ensured survival as much as wits and instincts did.

The Assassination Duo actively avoided anyone remotely challenging and preyed on the weak. It was beneath them to put effort into gaining treasures! The best way to nurture wealth was by snatching it from those who couldn't defend it.

Unlike what Hu Mei Er and a few astute Gu Masters expected, the supposedly crazed and demonic entity willing enough to reduce an entire mountain to ashes… did not destroy everything.

Seconds grew into minutes, and the chaos multiplied astoundingly, but the tense Rank 4 and 5 Gu Masters didn't discover anything strange.

"Eh?" Jiao Huang and Meng Tu stopped as they came across a barefoot figure dressed alluringly. Thing, gauze-like material covered his pale form as the Gu Master possessed a face capable of seducing foe and friend alike. Wavy brown hair cascaded to the young Gu Master's shoulder.

However, the duo shivered once they exchanged glances with the unknown Gu Master.

Their instinct shrieked.

Worst of all—

Their Vital Gu suddenly shook and injected a pulse of caution into these two as the duo instantly turned around and ran—

The Vital Gu only created such a sensation under an extreme threat to one's life!

*Swish*

Meng Tu and Jiao Huang let out bloodcurdling screams as they found their torso a notch swifter than anything below their waists. Bisected, the duo gushed blood and spilled organs as the alluring Gu Master didn't pay them any heed.

He didn't even bother finishing the duo, letting them struggle in pain as they felt death inch closer every second.

Elsewhere.

Yan Jun followed the notable Rank 5 Gu Master, who appeared in San Cha Mountain without informing others.

'Hmm? Did he notice me?' Despite being confident in his skills, Yan Jun was still cautious of the Rank 5 monster as the latter momentarily stopped. The duo had moved through the Blessed Land without alerting a Qilin-shaped Wu Ji, displaying superb stealth throughout the journey.

Much to Yan Jun's relief, the Rank 5 Demonic Gu Master didn't notice him and instead changed directions before rushing ahead. Keeping up with a Rank 5 Gu Master presented its challenges, too. However, the Phantom Path excelled in speed, evasion, and stealth. The duo continued ahead until suddenly discovering a region blanketed with fog.

'This fog… my Investigation Gu cannot observe past it.'

Yan Jun realized it, but the observation did not discourage him from following the dark-robed individual. The fog presented little challenge to their—

Yan Jun's vision shifted as he suddenly appeared by the entrance Lo Jik and Bai Ning Bing created.

'What?'

Yan Jun was shocked!

However, he had to sideline all the questions since his gaze never left those cruel, purple orbs.

"Who are you?" The dark-robed Gu Master inquired with a cold voice. The duo appeared at the same spot while facing each other. "You were following me."

Yan Jun swallowed the nervous lump in his throat before smiling calmly.

"Your Soul Path methods will not work on me, Mo Wu Tian. Why would you bother questioning me when your first instinct was to destroy my soul?"

"So, a Phantom Path Gu Master," Mo Wu Tian muttered under his breath, unperturbed by his inability to injure the opponent.

The duo were astute and pragmatic. One was known as the rising star of the Demonic Faction with a reputation beyond the Little Giant King. The other was the Young Clan Leader of the Yan Clan and an inheritor of the Ancient Phantom Path Inheritance. Their experiences led them to the same conclusion.

"That was most likely the Blessed Land's…" Yan Jun paused. Mo Wu Tian had his back against the Blessed Land's entrance. However, the same wasn't true for Yan Jun.

His eyes popped wide open once he noticed the outside world's scene.

Furrowing his brows, Mo Wu Tian launched his Investigation Gu worm instead of turning around, cautious that he might fall for the oldest trick in the book. However, surprise flickered in his eyes as he turned around.

Gone was the lush San Cha's peak.

Instead, the duo witnessed a carpet of red fog covering everything!

"What happened?"

The duo blurted in shock.

Cases like theirs or the Assassination Duo weren't rare as the chaos unfolded. Many chose to temporarily ally with each other, a few continued to find a safe haven after realizing the kind of enemy had set their sights on the Three Kings' Inheritance, and those unfortunate enough to meet the transcended philanderer suffered grievous, painful, and pitiful deaths.

"What do we do, Young Master?" one of Xiao Mang's men addressed with fright as Xiao Mang maintained an ugly expression.

"How should I know?" Xiao Mang revealed none of the elegance he used to practice in front of a mirror. Though a Rank 5 Peak Stage Gu Master, Xiao Mang did not undertake such a journey through grit and determination as much as exploiting his parent's weakness for their children. Even though he was a bloodline descendant of the Xiao Clan's Gu Immortal, Xiao Mang hadn't informed anybody about his departure and did not conceive enough preparations.

Even in his wildest dreams, he could have never imagined a Demonic Gu Immortal to attack everyone!

His men instantly looked demoralized, starkly contrasting to the Gu Masters from the Wu, Tie, Yi, and Shang Clans.

"What should we do?" Wu Lan Shan inquired grimly as several Gu Masters collected around Wu Ji. The Qilin did not recover its armor, revealing another of Wu Ji's weaknesses since her intent had faded a lot. Her Strength Qi entirely acted as a foundation for the Killer Move, and losing a few of the Gu Worms storing said Qi dealt a heavy blow to her control over the Qilin.

"Can you contact your real body?" The Wind Sword continued, intentionally reigniting the hopes within their troops.

"If it was a Mortal Killer Move… yes," Wu Ji uttered as everyone sighed in relief. "I'm not familiar with Gu Immortals and their methods. They are too ethereal and boast several unorthodox methods we mortals can only imagine. The knowledge about this realm in my inheritance was also limited. But I understand the Gu Immortals possess two types of Killer Moves."

"Two types?" Tie Ruo Nan inquired elsewhere, experiencing a similar conversation. Tie Mu Bai understood these were the precious moments of boosting his men's morale and their intent to survive. How could he waste it all by panicking? He had experienced too much to be scared of death!

"Indeed," Tie Mu Bai touched his beard. "One of the Tie Clan's Immortal enlightened me about their methods. However, it was a broad and vague explanation. Essentially, the Gu Immortals dislike wasting their Immortal Essence. Mortal Gu Worms consume Primeval Essence; similarly, Immortal Treasures consume Immortal Essence. But these Gu Immortals boast unlimited Primeval Essence!"

A few Gu Masters gasped, hearing such information for the first time. Tie Ruo Nan was no better as her eyes widened.

"Having access to unlimited Primeval Essence makes Gu Immortals virtually invincible against us Mortal Gu Masters. The Killer Moves they can conjure ignore the disadvantage of limited Primeval Essence. But we have a chance. Despite the power of the mortal Killer Moves created by Gu Immortals exceeds a Rank 5 Gu Master's capabilities, it doesn't surpass the mortal realm."

"We still have a chance," Tie Bai Qi nodded at an appropriate time. "We will need to work together. Even the lives of my Beast Group are nothing compared to my Tie Clan's brave clansmen. So, they will lead the way and try thinning the fog with their lives."

"Working together…" Yi Jun Hie muttered under his breath before looking at his subordinates. "Indeed, we should find Wu Ji or Tie Mu Bai. Those two must have had some contact with the Gu Immortals of their Clans and could possess a way out of here."

Although his words boosted his subordinate's confidence, Yi Jun Hie personally was resigned to his death. After all, why would those two help them?

Who would care about their mask of righteousness in this situation?

Like Yi Jun Hie, Yi Huo also decided to look for the Tie Clan. After all, the Shang Clan boasted a long-standing conflict with the Wu Clan through proxy of their subordinate clans.

"Where are you going?"

A flirtatious voice echoed around Yi Huo and his group as their bodies suddenly froze under mysterious pressure.

Their eyes widened when a lone figure crossed the distance between them in a single step!

"Fret not," the seductive man smiled gently. "I'm the one who confined this Blessed Land, but I'm no Demonic Gu Immortal. My mother named me Mi Zhu, and I'm your ancestor, a Shang Clan Immortal."

The pressure lifted off the group as everyone was speechless.

None dared interject after witnessing the previous Killer Move of crossing such a vast distance in a step.

"The Shang Clan's First Supreme Elder sent me to investigate a grave crime," Shang Mi Zhu continued breezily, barely hiding the annoyance threatening to explode his heart. "Someone abducted Doctor Su Shou."

"What?" one of Su Shou's patients within the group blurted in shock as Shang Mi Zhu waved his hand, displaying a neat and tidy 'corpse' belonging to Su Shou.

Even Yi Huo gaped as Mi Zhu continued coldly. "The culprit is devious enough to warrant my action, and he captured Su Shou's soul. She is imperative to the Clan's growth. But we must act quickly and find that evil maniac."

"Yi Huo greets Lord Supreme Elder!" He suddenly bowed, encouraging others to do the same. Truthfully, Yi Huo had doubts, and Shang Mi Zhu was all too aware. However, agreeing to whatever Shang Mi Zhu wanted was their best bet for survival.

"Hmm," Shang Mi Zhu nodded with a pleased look. "I would have found you either way to safely escort you outside my Killer Move. However, the Heavenly Power in the Blessed Land targets and limits me. Doing so hastens its destruction and the arrival of the Winds of Assimilation. We cannot wait that long."

"Please guide us, Lord," Yi Huo stood straight with his chest puffed out. Despite his doubts, Yi Huo also understood that a Demonic Gu Immortal wouldn't go this far in convincing them unless they had a sick sense of humor.

With that, Shang Mi Zhu pointed at the group, releasing a stream of light that branched out and collected above their heads.

"The orbs above your heads will turn red from blue when you are near Su Shou's soul. Spread out and inform others about my arrival. Tell them I will allow everyone a safe passage through the Blessed Land if they are willing to help."

"Yes!"

Yi Huo did that. He was already aware of Yi Jun Hie's group, which initially dismissed the former until he bit the bullet for survival.

As such, the word spread, allowing everyone from the Shang Clan to move freely. Even the Demonic Gu Masters stopped their conflicts around these men for a chance of survival.

"The Shang Clan?" Wu Ji snorted. She wouldn't ordinarily accept the death of her Clansmen unless she found a way to fill the gap. However, the Shang Clan's envoy was truthful. Nobody in their right mind would conjure such a story unless it happened.

Just as she considered what to do, the Shang Clan's Gu Master and others noticed a small commotion.

They located Su Shou's soul.

<<<>>>

The Rank 5 Thousand Li Earthwolf boasted another passenger on its broad back as Lo Jik expressed genuine concern in a long time!

An Immortal!

He didn't know why the Blessed Land attracted an Immortal and didn't plan to either. Hu Mei Er was sure the fog was a Mortal Killer move. So, their group still had a solid chance of survival!

"Your luck is truly fucked!" Bai Ning Bing scorned as Lo Jik controlled the steed to another possible weak point to create a new opening.

"Don't talk to Lo Jik like that," Hu Mei Er snorted. "Maybe it's your luck that got us in this shit!"

Bai Ning Bing instantly gritted his teeth. He did NOT like this slut. Even Xiao Die was better than this bitch!

"Can we survive?" Chen Jiu inquired, now capable of moving around without the Heavenly Power's restriction around her.

'I can use the Isolated Mother's Love Gu and fly high. That and a few other defensive Gu should increase my chance of survival,' Lo Jik replied. 'Bai Ning Bing's and Hu Mei Er's survival is an issue.'

Before Lo Jik could continue, however, his expression sank as he noticed a few Gu Masters rushing in his direction. Above their heads glowed red light orbs!

'They are here for us?' His thoughts shifted, and Lo Jik suddenly moved the Steed Gu elsewhere.

Still, he did not lose anyone who was chasing him. Instead, more and more Gu Masters began to join the chase!

'How are they tracking us? And why?'

Lo Jik knew he'd been cautious enough to avoid Gu Worm from latching onto him, like the Tie Clan's Shared Sense Gu. He could have never expected all his plans to fail so spectacularly right at the end!

'What about this?'

Lo Jik suddenly used the Invisibility Gu on himself and the duo behind him, shocking them.

'Hm?'

Lo Jik noticed the light orbs above his pursuers' heads turn blue.

'Well, it works. I'll think about the why and the how later!'

Lo Jik steered the Earthwolf Spider to another one of the weakening spots he'd scouted while locating Hu Mei Er earlier. It was time they got the fuck out of the Blessed Land!

Tension bubbled within Lo Jik's gut as he still didn't feel at ease after putting a respectable distance from the sudden chase.

The Thousand Li Earthwolf Spider drilled out of the ground as Lo Jik glanced at Bai Ning Bing.

"Prepare your killer move now. We might be attacked the second I revoke the Invisibility Gu."

Lo Jik had no other options. Given the extraordinary situation, returning the original opening was no longer safe. No Immortal worth their talents would leave such an 'entrance' unguarded and without traps.

Bai Ning Bing nodded without losing his cool.

Meanwhile, Lo Jik took a breath before stopping the Rank 5 Invisibility Gu. He couldn't even use the Rank 5 Eye Gu while preparing his Killer Move.

Rank 4 Phantom Longbow.

Sky Griffin Beast Arrow.

Rank 4 Strength Qi.

Rank 5 Multiply.

Rank 5 Killer Move: Last Arrow!

Lo Jik shot the majestic arrow as it screeched and tore through the wind before exploding in a single spot. The desolate sky tore open, revealing a shroud of gloomy red fog!

"The same as before!"

Lo Jik picked Bai Ning Bing and Hu Mei Er as elegant sky-blue Griffin Wings unfolded from his back.

He didn't mind using the Multiply Gu to raise his speed as he instantly took to the sky with a cloud of dust in his wake!

Just when he thought of using the Invisibility Gu…

"I found you—"

A gentle whisper echoed near Lo Jik as he almost lost control of the wings. He stalled mid-air, his brain buzzing with a terrifying and painful screech!

"Ahhhhhhhhhh!"

It was Chen Jiu.

"Ugh!"

The distant Mo Wu Tian suddenly coughed a mouthful of blood. His already pale features turned snow-white as the long-range Killer Move meant to attack Lo Jik's soul collapsed, causing a backlash.

"What happened?" Yan Jun inquired with a terrible expression.

The duo had wanted to explore the Blessed Land before they were caught in the Immortal's scheme. They were lucky to run into Lo Jik and his group.

"His soul isn't normal and protected by something," Mo Wu Tian wiped the blood from his lips only to realize he'd begun bleeding from his nose.

'Damn it!'

Lo Jik regained his composure and flapped his wings again as sand materialized and gathered around him without restricting his wingspan. The sand shaped like a kind woman overlooking him—the Rank 5 Isolated Mother's Love Gu.

He didn't stop there.

Rank 5 Void Soul!

Lo Jik couldn't let Chen Jiu die. What would have been the point of all of it?!

'So close!'

'Just a little bit…'

The opening zoomed within Bai Ning Bing's and Hu Mei Er's gaze as Lo Jik sped without considering anything else.

Fly!

Fly!

FLY!

"THIEF!" A ray of pink glow suddenly covered Lo Jik as it eroded the Isolated Mother's Love at a breakneck pace!

'Fuck!' Lo Jik hissed. What did he steal—

Chen Jiu!

No matter!

Lo Jik instantly used the Rank 4 Golden Bell Shield Gu as the deceptively disastrous Killer Move continued to grind away at his defenses.

"Give her back!"

A furious voice emerged from the glow surrounding Lo Jik.

The Isolated Mother's Love Gu trembled before dissipating under Lo Jik's nigh desperate gaze.

A formless pressure emanated from the unknown Immortal's words and sank within the trio.

Bai Ning Bing spurted a mouthful of blood and lost control of his Killer Move, which exploded into an icy blast, impacting Lo Jik's defenses.

Hu Mei Er was no better despite boasting a slightly better soul.

However, Lo Jik tanked the damage and continued forth as the light dissipated.

Unfortunately…

Rank 5 Void Soul…

It perished from taxation.

Still, all the sacrifices paid off!

Lo Jik's wings brought everyone to the exit. Although survival within the fog was a dubious proposition…

As Lo Jik said, he would rather die with his wings spread than achieve a shitty death!

It was never a choice between life and death…

Lo Jik had died before and understood that living is death experienced by the second, minute, day, week, month, and year!

So, if he was to die, he would die flying high—

An intense sensation escaped from the Hope Gu, something Lo Jik was all too familiar with.

"Hmph! Cocky junior!"

Rank 4 Light Source Gu.

Rank 4 Gather Light Gu.

Rank 5 Extreme Light Gu.

Rank 5 River Under The Sun Gu.

Killer Move—Torrential Light Stream!

Tie Ruo Nan had just arrived to witness Xiao Mang floating and launching a massive river of light formed from the Immemorial Era's Light of Glory!

The river moved as swiftly as light, consuming the flying Lo Jik and the weak spot they'd created.

'No!' Tie Ruo Nan's eyes widened.

"NOOOOO!"

But there was someone who raged more.

"You fool!" Shang Mi Zhu suddenly appeared near Xiao Mang. Many spectators had already gathered after such conspicuous attacks.

They all witnessed the incredulous sight of a Righteous Gu Immortal pointing at Xiao Mang as the latter's head exploded.

The river of light faded as the attack widened the hole in the sky.

However…

"Do you think I couldn't have killed him the moment I struck?!" Shang Mi Zhu hissed.

"She's gone! SHE'S GONE! Hehehe… I don't care anymore! You all killed her!"

Shang Mi Zhu chuckled creepily. The gentle demeanor faded, revealing a crazed gaze blooming from those bloodshot eyes.

"Nobody takes away something from me! None of you! Not even my father! Hahahaha! I'll kill you all!"

"Lord Supreme Elder," Yi Huo began with a fearful expression—

*Splat*

He died.

'Fuck!'

Several Gu Masters cursed under their breaths.

Yan Jun was the same as he cursed under his breath and disappeared.

"I will send you all to your graves alongside Gu Yue Lo Jik and Su Shou!"

Shang Mi Zhu howled.

Indeed…

Gu Yue Lo Jik was dead—

With his wings spread, as high as he could fly in the sky and due to the Light Glory.
