Chapter 104: The Calm Before The Storm

"Here, Lord Desolate."

Jia Fu restrained the bitterness in his heart as he revealed a deep-purple, yellow-spotted caterpillar. The Rank 4 Gu Aura oozed from the worm as the elderly Lord Desolate calmly held the Gu. He quietly observed it before nodding with a satisfied expression.

"Your efficiency is outstanding, Brother Jia," Desolate punctuated in a friendly voice as he caressed the Rank 4 Rewind Gu. It was a rare Time Path Gu Worm that could force the enemy to quit! Jia Fu's expression slightly eased at Desolate's words. However, the Rank 4 elder couldn't help but stare intensely at the mysterious expert.

'Did he know Father secretly cultivated Time Path? He chanced upon a Time Path inheritance as a mortal and built the clan singlehandedly from a mortal village. Well… Desolate would have demanded the father's Rank 5 Old Age Gu if he knew about it. Maybe I was overthinking.'

Rank 4 Rewind Gu had a mysterious effect on other Gu Worms. It could revert any Gu Worm's use. For instance, a Gu Master with Rank 4 Rewind Gu could use it on the target's defensive Gu, making its effects disappear as if the Gu wasn't activated, catching the opponent by surprise! Of course, it revealed better use through killer moves in the hands of a Time Path expert. However, the number of Time Path experts had declined due to rare materials and several extinct Gu Worms.

Time, Space, Qi, Strength… such paths couldn't endure the test of time. It was ironic.

'The rumors were true,' Lord Desolate mused. 'The Jia Clan's leader was secretly a Time Path Gu Master. His other methods were merely a mask to hide his actual battle strength.'

Another Elder interrupted them before the duo could converse further.

"Um… Elder Jia Fu… Young Master Tie Ruo Nan requests an audience."

After bidding farewell to Lord Desolate, Jia Fu frowned and decided to see what Tie Ruo Nan wanted.

Jia Fu never expected Tie Ruo Nan's response.

"Young Master Tie wishes to join the competition?" Jia Fu blinked.

"I cannot accept Gu Yue Fang Zheng's attitude. He doesn't have an expert's disposition, and his actions serve to taint the Tie Clan's honor and pride since we are the ones who saved him. Despite knowing his Elder Twin Brother must have caused Jia Clan's current mess, he let greed get the better of him."

Jia Fu's heart thumped.

"You mean…"

"I am 90% sure Gu Yue Fang Yuan killed Jia Jin Sheng over a discovered inheritance. However, the Blood Tide destroyed Qing Mao's previous environment, and further investigation is pointless. Hmph! However, Fang Zheng wanted to use the information to blackmail and earn profits from your Second Brother. He understood that the exposure of this information would sway the hearts of the many in your direction."

Jia Fu's expression brightened. It was an exhilarating piece of information!

But he maintained his calm.

"Young Master Tie… you didn't answer why you wished to join the competition."

Tie Ruo Nan shook her head with a disappointed expression.

"I'm aware of Fang Zheng's schemes. Since I left, unable to bear his greed and corruption, he would want to ensure your Second Brother's victory. The competition has begun, even if the masses acknowledge your rightful heritage. You must win! Losing it would be the same as offering your second brother the Jia Clan's reigns. I would like to join the competition to compensate for my lack of ability to deduce matters in Qing Mao Mountain. Also, I wish to foil Fang Zheng's schemes! It is a matter of Tie Clan's pride! Of course, I don't want any other rewards—"

Jia Fu instantly interjected.

"Young Master Tie must be jesting. How can I allow you to fight for us without appropriate rewards? It would be the Jia Clan's shame!"

He did not suspect Tie Ruo Nan's words because the Tie Clansmen were fiercely unreasonable against anyone they considered demonic. Besides, Jia Fu felt moved because Tie Ruo Nan was an expert, and her reputation in handling matters, even if it meant butting heads with the elders, had wormed its way to the Jia Clan.

Finally, Tie Ruo Nan claimed to understand Fang Zheng. If Fang Zheng joined the competition from Jia Gui's side, he must have someone like her beside him.

Tie Ruo Nan furrowed her brows.

"That won't be needed, Lord Jia Fu—"

"Strength and cultivation have been the basis of seniority since ancient times. Please address me as Brother Jia or Brother Jia Fu if it doesn't offend Young Master Tie. I also insist that you accept the subsequent rewards from the merit list should you participate in the competition. That would be the righteous method of achieving our intended goal."

Tie Ruo Nan retorted a few times. However, Jia Fu's firm attitude made her feel 'helpless' as she agreed to his terms. So, as a new participant and a welcomed expert, Tie Ruo Nan could ask for a Rank 4 Gu of her choice, and the Jia Clan would do their best to procure the Gu or find the next best alternative.

"Then please help me locate a Rank 4 Sword Qi Gu." Tie Ruo Nan requested as Jia Fu agreed on the spot.

Unlike the Strength Path's Strength Qi, Sword Qi Gu Worm was slightly less rare because of the surging Blade, Sword, and Metal Path. There have been constant revisions in the recipe for their Qi Recipes. Jia Fu was confident in acquiring a Sword Qi Gu Worm.

After dismissing Tie Ruo Nan, Jia Fu sent his elders to spread the news about Jia Gui and his insidious schemes.

Once Jia Fu had completed his tasks, he returned to his study and retrieved a strange Gu Worm from his Aperture.

It resembled a green ground mole with smooth skin instead of fur.

Rank 3 Ground Mole Letter Gu.

Lo Jik would identify the Gu Worm on sight. After all, he had witnessed it in action recently.

Jia Fu began filling it with information through his mind, instantly creating an eloquent letter.

'Dear Brother Li Xian, I hope you have been well. Your timely assistance always invoked awe within me. This time, I request a Rank 4 Sword Qi Gu. I'm sure you can find it swiftly. I would also like you to search for a few other Gu Worms listed below. As usual, I will pay with Primeval Stones and information about the contestants of the Jia Clan competition. I also considered your proposal to exchange Gu with other Gu Worms and felt it would lead to a fruitful trade. Let me know about your needs…'

The letter continued for a while before Jia Fu nodded in satisfaction. He soon sent it back, letting the Rank 3 Gu Worm travel across a vast distance. Still, the Rank 3 Ground Mole Letter Gu had an outstanding speed and a keen sense of danger. It should return to San Cha Mountain within three days despite the detours he accounted for.

"How is the search for materials and Gu going on?" Lo Jik questioned as Li Xian perked up inside the cave.

"The pace is modest so far, Master. I arranged for Wishful Blessing Gu and found some clues regarding the Policy Gu. But…"

Lo Jik glanced at Li Xian as the latter broke out in a cold sweat. "I only know about one Rank 5 Heaven's Will Gu. The Second Young Master of the Xiao Clan holds it. It's already an extinct Gu, Master. As for Xiao Clan's Second Young Master… Xiao Mang is a Rank 5 expert, rumored to possess several Rank 5 Gu Worms and another extinct Gu Worm capable of summoning the Light of Glory from the Immemorial Era."

Lo Jik frowned. He needed those Gu Worms if he had any hope of exploiting the near-death Blessed Land.

Of course, exploiting the Blessed Land was of low priority. Lo Jik never forgot his initial objective—survival. Chen Jiu's dual cultivation method was several times more essential than the Blessed Land since Lo Jik possessed a strange constitution of 'Divine Capacity' and awakened two Apertures!

To that end, he needed to escape the Southern Border after making sufficient arrangements—faking his death and ensuring Bai Ning Bing's survival. They would travel to the Central Continent, where Lo Jik aimed to join a sect.

After all, Lo Jik and Chen Jiu were certain their arrangements would be successful. But how can Lo Jik not have a backup?

Accidents existed to foil plans.

Lo Jik would incite Shang Clan's Immortals' rage if discovered. For that, he needed to work his way into establishing contact with similar powers!

"What about the materials for Human Adaptive Qi Gu?"

"I almost collected the first set of materials, Master," Li Xian grinned as the fat of his face wrinkled together and his eyes squinted.

"What about information? Anything intriguing from your contacts?"

"Indeed. The Jia Clan Competition experienced a significant shift when Gu Yue Fang Zheng joined Jia Gui's side. Meanwhile, Tie Ruo Nan lost her temper and decided to fight from Jia Fu's side. Several Gu Masters joined the competition under Jia Fu's name because of the information leak, freeing Jia Fu from his earlier predicaments and forcing Jia Gui into the passive."

Lo Jik nodded. He had little interest in the competition. The familiar names made Lo Jik momentarily sigh. Li Xian had several contacts. While they mainly were Demonic Path Gu Masters, his fame allowed him to form connections with a few merchants like Jia Fu. A rich network of merchants exchanged Gu, materials, and information. Like Jia Fu, Li Xian fed the former details of the Three Kings' Inheritance. Furthermore, Jia Fu spread the information further along the lines.

Li Xian continued.

"I heard that the Shang Clan sent Yi Huo for Three Kings' Inheritance. He should arrive in less than two weeks."

Lo Jik furrowed his brows.

"Yi Huo? Not Shang Bu Li?" Lo Jik hoped for the latter. He could have stuffed Shang Bu Li into the Rank 5 Particle Viewing Gu to gain insight into the Gu Master's dual cultivation. Chen Jiu jealously guarded her secret despite their relationship, wanting Lo Jik to help her revive. It's not like he could fault her. He would be the same. Their banters aside, Chen Jiu felt helpless and a profound loss of control since her early years. She grew to be more cautious than she let others on.

"Ah, there was also the emergence of a Rank 3 Blood Path Gu Master. Nobody knows the Gu Master's name, but she calls herself 'Fairy Blood Rot.' Her inheritance of Blood Path Gu Worms involves corroding the target's blood!"

Lo Jik straightened his back, demanding sharply.

"The Rank 3 Black Blood Gu?"

Li Xian nodded.

"Master is wise. That is the case. She has a Rank 3 Black Blood Gu Worm."

"Contact her."

"Master?" Li Xian blinked.

"Contact her and make an offer for that Black Blood Gu. Ask about her other Gu Worms, and be sure to do anything to purchase the Blood Connection Gu if she has it."

Li Xian regained his composure and nodded.

Thinking momentarily, Lo Jik added, "If everything fails, try getting a deal using the Recipe for Rank 3 Blood Pool or Rank 2 Bleeding Eye Gu Worms."

He needed to prepare a killer move to deal with a clue he might have to leave behind. The two Gu Worms he mentioned were the core components of the Killer Move.

After hearing the report, Lo Jik soon returned to his cave.

While known to be a ruthless demoness, Hu Mei Er wondered how she always ended up on Lo Jik's chest after claiming to teach him a lesson every other night. Of course, she didn't forget to make her trips worthwhile by trying to extract information from Lo Jik.

"What do you think about the Three Kings' Inheritance?" She inquired in a sweet tone as they embraced within his cave. "The entrance would appear in another month."

As usual, Lo Jik didn't respect the general mannerisms of the Gu World as he tilted his head with a collected smile. But Hu Mei Er knew better. She sensed thinly-veiled heat behind his gaze as if unable to stay away from her.

"Try asking what you want directly," he snickered. "That should earn a better response."

Hu Mei Er scoffed as her naked, content form curled on him. "What else could I be asking? You entered King Xin's inheritance, and rumors suggested you had reached deep enough to gain an astonishing Gu Recipe! So?" Her gaze glimmered. "Are the rumors true?"

"That I got a Polished Steel Gu Worm recipe from King Xin's inheritance?" Lo Jik scoffed. "That was a lie from someone who wants to harm me. Such recipes would shock the entire Southern Border and would have spread long ago. If someone possesses them, it would be the Super Clans."

Hu Mei Er revealed her disappointment as Lo Jik continued. "But…"

"But?"

Lo Jik's gaze grew worried. "But others wouldn't care. Someone might try fucking up with me out of greed."

"Isn't it too late to be scared?" Hu Mei Er sneered. "You already attracted Empress Wu's attention. She is one of the fiercest women in the Southern Border and won't let you go."

"Maybe I'll seek your protection," Lo Jik hummed with a cheeky smirk. "Who knows? I might have seduced you to request your escaping methods."

"You? Seduced me?" Hu Mei Er giggled as she climbed his chest before leaning down. A playful intent infected her smile. "I recall you spouting some philosophical bullshit about Ren Zu and the Legendary Love Gu. If anyone's being sincere in what we have, it's me."

"How would you know that wasn't my plan from the beginning?" Lo Jik wagged his brows. "I'll let you know I'm quite the charmer. Even the likes of Shang Yan Fei would tremble for their relationship with their harem when I attain the same cultivation as them."

Hu Mei Er's eyelids jumped before she blew up into peals of laughter.

"Oh!" she heaved. "That was good. You dare claim to lay hands on Shang Yan Fei's harem?"

"Hey," Lo Jik shrugged. "I could never force a woman. So, the faithful ones have nothing to worry about, and one shouldn't worry about the unfaithful ones in the first place."

"How do you manage to spout so much nonsense every time?" Mei Er sighed, her hand unconsciously reaching for Lo Jik's messy strands as she observed the obsessive glow in his gaze turn a notch deeper.

"Say," she whispered. "I have a proposal."

"Hmm?"

Hu Mei Er leaned down, whispering into his ear until his eyes momentarily widened. Hu Mei Er's idea was to use her recently collected information to ambush a team of Yi Clansmen. As expected, the Yi Clan sent major forces after they realized Yi Chong's demise. However, it did not align with Lo Jik's goal of creating chaos. He needed those elite forces to barricade San Cha Mountain!

—not only the Yi Clan!

He wanted more.

So, he effortlessly changed the topic.

"Say," he began, his thick arms coiling around her waist. "How did you collect that information?"

Hu Mei Er's gaze glinted before she blew against his ear.

"Jealous?"

Lo Jik snorts before he starts rubbing his erection against her wet mounds, making her gasp.

"Hey!" she pouted. "What would you do if you accidentally penetrated me? I don't want to eat you out."

"Excuse me?"

Hu Mei Er pulled back and turned around with a mischievous look. She bent against the cave's wall, revealing her soaked entrance. However, the flesh of her soft mounds bunched together the next second before splitting into a terrifying-looking mouth with razor-sharp teeth!

"The Human Fly Trap?" Lo Jik blinked, making Hu Mei Er reevaluate the former.

She reverted the Gu Worm, snickering, "I'm surprised you know about it. Why? Did Sister Yan prank you? Did you bleed?"

Lo Jik rolled his eyes.

"I know it because of Kong Ri Tian."

"Ah," Hu Mei Er smiled. "So, you know about his origins, too."

Kon Ri Tian originated from a now-destroyed clan, the Kong Clan. It used to be a Large Clan before it offended the Wu Clan. The story was somewhat complicated and dated a few years before Empress Wu Ji rose to prominence. As known to others, Empress Wu Ji claimed shocking beauty and talent since her birth. However, her Elder Sister's vindictive attention and genuine caution for her life compelled Empress Wu Ji to cut off the tip of her nose ruthlessly. Eventually, she discovered one of the most lucrative Ancient Strength Path inheritance, quietly gaining power before toppling her Elder Sister's reigns.

However, others failed to remember the tragedy of Empress Wu Ji's younger sibling. They were three sisters.

The youngest, free from the talent that inspired envy and the hereditary right of the throne, was doted on by both sisters. The youngest of the Wu Siblings was carefree and adventurous, eventually deciding to conduct trade in caravans to explore the Southern Border. The tragedy occurred when the Wu Clan's caravan arrived at the Kong Clan.

The youngest of the Wu Sibling wasn't weak. Using her clan's resources, she was an expert among several Rank 4 Gu Masters, boasting a fierce reputation and a mighty Wind Path Gu Set. However, life had its fair share of tragedy.

The Wu Clan's youngest sibling grew to possess romantic feelings for the Kong Clan's Young Clan Leader. Unfortunately, the Young Leader secretly cultivated Blood Path and assassinated the Wu Clan's youngest sibling to refine a powerful Blood Path Gu.

Kong Ri Yi escaped the clan instantly. However, the awaited retribution only arrived after Empress Wu Ji settled her businesses and solidified her hold of the Wu Clan's higher-ups.

She led an army to Kong Clan. However, instead of massacring them, Empress Wu decided to punish them cruelly. She forced every Kong Clan's female Gu Masters to use the Human Fly Trap before DEVOURING the reproductive organ of every male in their lives! So, Wu Ji forced mothers and daughters to 'decapitate' their sons, fathers, and brothers. She also forced every mortal woman to take a blade against the men in their lives!

It was a horrible sight. Blood flowed endlessly as the hunting cries of men even made several elites from the Wu Clan empty their stomachs!

Wu Ji bled everyone out to death before enslaving the women.

However, there was one exception.

Knowing their demise and full of regret about his hindsight with his Eldest Son, the Kong Clan leader used a rare Rank 5 Healing Gu Worm on his second son—Kong Ri Tian!

Since Empress Wu Ji left the corpses to rot after looting whatever there was to loot, Kong Ri Tian returned to life after a few days.

But how could he forget such a traumatic event?

Since then, after having his innocence violated by his mother and his dick chopped off, Kong Ri Tian began craving more control before he grew to love the taste of destroying a pure woman's innocence.

It wasn't incorrect to state that Demonic Gu Masters like Kong Ri Tian and Long Qing Tian became demonic overlords because of fate's cruel tricks. The one who caused this mess, Kong Ri Tian's eldest brother, was nowhere to be found. Many suspected he fled to another region. Yet, it was ironic. Kong Ri Tian became like his Eldest Brother, playing with another's innocence. Only that Kong Ri Yi performed such tricks to refine the Gu Worms. Meanwhile, Kong Ri Tian suppressed his trauma through sexual assaults.

Lo Jik could even bet his entire wealth that Kong Ri Tian fantasized about assaulting his mother when he forced himself on other women!

Some people in this world don't need the Gu Worms but therapy!

Of course, inflicting such cruelty on the innocent bystanders, Wu Ji continued her claim of righteousness.

"You know," Lo Jik puckered his lips. "I'm interested in testing my defense against your Human Fly Trap Gu Worm. How about I transform into the Little Giant King, and you let me stick it in there."

Hu Mei Er felt speechless before she pouted.

"Sigh. I had too many expectations. You're on the verge of losing control."

Pulling her back, Lo Jik narrowed his eyes. "Maybe I'm just annoyed at your jests."

Hu Mei Er almost cooed eagerly when the possessive glow in Lo Jik's eyes seemed to materialize!

"Lucky for you," Lo Jik pecked her lips. "I have a sixth sense against unfaithful women."

She swatted his chest.

"Don't speak as if we are lovers!"

"We aren't?" Lo Jik smiled. "That's unfortunate."

"Is it?" She pecked his lips before pulling over the blanket on their bodies. "Well," she hummed and closed her eyes, coiling her thin arms around Lo Jik. "I must admit your presence is soothing."

Of course, they didn't sleep. Hu Mei Er rested for a few minutes before leaving. Before leaving, she urged Lo Jik to consider her proposal again since she realized he purposely avoided the topic. However, Lo Jik had already made up his mind.

Wu Yi Mountain, The Wu Clan.

"When was the last time you rested, Cousin?" the door to the inner office opened, accompanied by a boisterous voice. Others would never associate such a cheerful tone with the Wu Clan's famous Elder, the Rank 5 Upper Stage Gu Master, Wu Lan Shan. She was a middle-aged woman who appeared cold and brutal to the world. She was Empress Wu Ji's fiercest general, The Wind Sword. However, she displayed an inviting disposition, unlike her reputation. She had a bright smile and spoke teasingly. "Oh, no! All that stress and work is making you look old. You're not going to have any children this way."

The peerless figure on the other side of the desk frowned and looked up from an Information Path Gu reporting an urgent matter. She was a breathtaking figure with creamy smooth skin, luscious curves, lustrous black hair, and round, expressive eyes. However, the figure oozing Rank 5 Peak Stage aura had one blemish—

"I thought it would be my nose that'll be a problem in having children…"

Wu Lan Shan rolled her eyes, knowing the woman better despite her innocent attitude.

"Bah! You give birth from down there, not your nose. Besides, you can curtain the windows." Wu Lan Shan grinned lecherously, her hands made grabbing gestures. "Who cares about a nose when you have those?!"

Unable to endure Wu Lan Shan's words, the woman with the disfigured nose rolled her eyes. "You're lucky I dote on you, Shan'er. Why must you keep making such remarks?"

Wu Lan Shan took her seat with a shrug.

"You were the one who filled my head with all this nonsense, Cousin." Wu Lan Shan flipped her palm and retrieved wine from her Storage Gu. "Hmph! I already have had a failed love. But you always use the excuse of managing the Clan. Look at that bastard Shang Yan Fei… he doesn't let the administration interject with his marital duties. That blood-haired asshole got ANOTHER illegitimate daughter!"

"Oh," the most ferocious woman in the Southern Border's Mortal Realm, Empress Wu Ji, narrowed her eyes. "Are you advising your Clan Leader to become a slut?"

Wu Lan Shan quietly poured Wu Ji some wine before addressing her with a stately expression.

"Yes."

"Fuck off!"

The duo stared at each other before breaking into boisterous laughter.

"I'm fine, Shan'er. You should know about my stamina." Wu Ji shook her head with a pleasant expression as Lan Shan shrugged. "You could be a venerable, and I'd still worry for you, Cousin."

Wu Ji's smile broadened before she stored the Gu Worm in her hands. "We are experiencing some conflict with Yang Clan. Prepare a small team with Old Elder Wu Lin as the head."

"Understood," Wu Lan Shan nodded before gulping a mouthful of wine from her cup. "But…"

"I didn't forget," Wu Ji's expression darkened. "Elder Wu Lin went behind my back to mobilize Wu Hui and Wu Rong to seize Gu Yue Lo Jik's inheritance after Wu Ran failed in the Shang Clan."

Old Elder Wu Lin was the previous Rank 5 Leader and Wu Ji's father. Calling their relationship strained would be an understatement. Wu Ran, or Li Ran in the Shang Clan, was the Wu Clan's spy. Every Super Clan had their spies infiltrated in different clans. However, Elder Wu Lin desired the Ancient Strength Path Inheritance to oppose Wu Ji, eventually sending a team of elites after Lo Jik and Bai Ning Bing.

Wu Ji wouldn't have cared if they succeeded. Wu Lin's success would have enriched the clan despite some contributions lost. However, he failed. Furthermore, Lo Jik killed one of the more crucial elders—Wu Shen Tong. Others believed Lo Jik attacked the Wu Clan's team out of passion. But Wu Ji saw beyond the horse's shit through miles away, realizing it was Lo Jik's retaliation against the Clan's attempt on his life.

Making Wu Lin confront the Yang Clan was Wu Ji's way of punishing the man's failure, and Wu Lan Shan understood it. Ordinarily, it wouldn't be possible. Wu Lin was the previous Clan Leader and should boast more sway in the clan, like Tie Mu Bai. Unfortunately for the old Clan Leader, Wu Ji had managed to attract the Clan's Supreme Elders for an unknown reason and had a firm grip over everyone.

"San Cha Mountain is a treasure horde of Beast Groups, Hairy Men, and Eggmen," Wu Ji tapped her finger on the table. "I have spent some time thinking about this matter, and Lo Jik's action could be a perfect excuse to mobilize an army."

"You could also use this chance to deal with Kong Ri Tian," Lan Shan nodded.

"Who?" Wu Ji frowned, somewhat remembering the name.

"The Kong Clan?" Wu Lan Shan reminded. "You used the Human Fly Trap—"

"Oh, them," Wu Ji nodded before shrugging. "I don't give a shit about the Kong Clan's survivor. I had to do it to solidify my position as the Clan Leader. My Eldest and Youngest Sisters were pinnacles of being assholes. One wanted my life, and the other incited Eldest Sister against me."

Wu Ji sneered as Wu Lan Shan sighed. Unlike what others heard, she knew the true history between Wu Ji and her two sisters. Both hated Wu Ji. However, Wu Ji pretended to dote on her youngest sisters to maintain a righteous reputation. If Wu Ji loved her youngest sister, she wouldn't have let the latter leave the Clan with some caravan. No. It was the act of the Youngest Sister escaping the Clan after Wu Ji rose to prominence.

Meanwhile, her death compelled Wu Ji to act. But instead of killing needlessly, Wu Ji chose to save the infants and women, which wouldn't cross Wu Clan's bottom line and affect her position as the Clan Leader.

"How do you want to deal with Gu Yue Lo Jik and Bai Ning Bing?" Wu Lan Shan questioned as Wu Ji's expression became unreadable.

"We know about Lo Jik's Strength Path Attainment from his battle against Ju Kai Bei… it's not something that can be sought after. Gu Yue Lo Jik murdered our Clan's experts, weakening our power. It's only fair that he compensates for the losses by knowledge or services."

Wu Lan Shan furrowed her brows.

"He's Shang Clan's guest. That purple thorn token might become an issue."

Wu Ji quietly sneered.

"San Cha Mountain is vastly distant from Wu Yi Mountain… as for Gu Yue Lo Jik's alliances… you leave that to me."

Lan Shan's gaze glimmered before she shared her Cousin's grin.

"Understood. And you should sleep!"

"I will once I ascend," Wu Ji scoffed.
