Chapter 10: Let's go!
Sean quickly took his close friend and ran towards the cupboard. Opening it he found multiple keys for various vehicles, from personal to police, form vans to bikes. He too all the keys and put them in his pockets.
Dragging along his best friend Larry with him, Sean reached the garage and the two began searching for the cars they required by clicking the unlock button and waiting for the sound. They were also extremely on edge, since there could be zombies anywhere, waiting to pounce on them. The stress increased a lot more when the two could here faint growling sounds from the path that leads outside the garage, indicating that there were a few zombies on the road outside, and more were coming.
Within seconds, they found the vehicles and moved the closer to the entrance connected to the police station itself.
"Let's go. We need to bring back all those that boss mentioned" whispered Sean.
"Yes" replied Larry, as the two ran up the stairs no bothering to call the lift for 1 floor of climbing.
Finding out that there were three people, they decided to take one each, and then Larry would go for the last remaining person since he had a better physique than Sean.
…
"Phew. Ok now Larry, you go get the last person, and I'll collect anything useful here."
With this Larry was off and Sean was left in the garage basement, looking for anything useful to their group.
Soon, Sean had found a lot of guns, radios, batteries, extra tires, fire-extinguishers, first-aid kits in all the vehicles and put them in the secure box under the driver's seat of the truck.
However, he suddenly heard footsteps from behind him. He didn't have his gun at the moment, but he did have his baton. Gripping that tightly, he swung his hand with all his might behind him, but it was stopped. Opening his tightly shut eyes, he saw that it was the figure of a high-schooler with black hair and average features.
"Boss!" he said in a shocked voice. "I-I'm so-"
"It's fine. You were prepared for a possible zombie attack and that is good. It is better to take the chance of killing a human, rather than the chance of seeing who it is only tom get bitten. However, next time don't close your eyes when swinging or else you might miss."
"Yes sir."
"Alright, you two, put half of it in the truck, and the other half in the cruiser."
"Yes sir!"
"Shhh! Do you want to get us killed? Be quiet!"
"Yes sir" whispered the two as they got to work.
"Sir, we should take another car and truck. We could fit some more supplies, and maybe even a bike into the truck sir, and a few more people as well?"
"Hmm, good idea Sean. You will take one of the remaining trucks, and here, keep this gun with you, loaded and ready at all times."
"Yes sir"
With this, Sean got to work on putting in as many supplies as he could into his truck.
In the end, he managed to salvage any usable parts of the other vehicles besides their tires, engines, etc. He even fit 3 bikes in there somehow. At this point, Larry returned with Alice on his back.
"Put her in that car" said Merlin.
…
Alright, everyone now listen up. Sean, you will take that truck of yours. His friend, hmm Larry was it?"
"Yes sir!"
"I said shut it! Ok Larry, you will take that cruiser and will be at the end of the envoy. I will take this cruiser and be at the front of the envoy. You two will take the truck in the middle. You will be right behind me and ahead Sean's truck. One of you will drive the other will be in charge of navigation. Open your phones everyone. Good, now don't forget to keep it charged in the vehicles. We will be going to this address. It should be about a 10 minutes' drive from here. However, as far as I remember from when I was coming here, this this and this are all blocked. We now have two options, both of which will take us 25 minutes to reach our destination. So which route should we take?"
"Yes sir, we agree with Sean."
"Good then, we will do that. Once we reach our destination, depending on how serious the situation id we will either take a knee there for 10 minutes, or we will only pick up the VIPs at the location be gone from there. Understood?"
"Yes sir"
"Then go! And remain in radio contact at all times. Report anything, even the smallest thing. GO!"
With this, they were off to meet up with Alex and his parents at their house.
