Chapter 231: Restart, Spider-Man! [231]
The airport ruins were a chaotic scene, with massive octopus tentacles swatting away the stacked shipping containers.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
Flying containers hurtled like projectiles. Xia Luo raised a hand, tracing a circular motion in the air. The oncoming containers veered off course and slammed directly into the symbiote beast's face.
The damage was minimal, but the insult? Well, this creature was far too shameless to feel insulted.
"Waste of my magic," Xia Luo muttered.
Behind him, crimson tendrils suddenly extended hundreds of meters, whipping downward with ferocious speed. The symbiote beast wasn't one to back down. Its octopus tentacles lashed back, while a green scorpion tail shot through the air, its stinger hurtling straight for Xia Luo in an instant.
"Thud! Thud! Thud!"
The stinger struck like a lightning bolt. Xia Luo gripped the scorpion tail tightly with both hands, the sheer force pushing him back several steps and completely demolishing the airport terminal behind him.
Meanwhile, the symbiote beast's gaping maw unleashed arcs of blue energy. Seizing the moment, Xia Luo thrust the scorpion stinger into the torrent of energy.
"Boom!!""Zzzzt..."
The electric blast erupted, sending sparks flying. The shattered scorpion tail crashed to the ground with a deafening roar. Xia Luo flipped backward, retreating swiftly as his hands mimed gripping something at his waist. A dazzling blue light burst forth.
In an instant, endless streams of blue webbing surged toward the symbiote beast. However, before the webbing could adhere, the black liquid coating the creature's body quickly consumed the strands, denying Xia Luo any opportunity to gain the upper hand.
"Crack! Crack!"
"Thud! Thud! Thud!"
At the edge of the airport ruins, lights flickered, and a towering steel suit of armor rose from the ground. The massive form of Tony Stark, enhanced to a colossal size, moved sluggishly under Earth's gravity, akin to a tortoise racing a rabbit. Every step and motion seemed to strain the suit, eliciting creaking groans from its joints.
"Oh, great," Tony groaned. "Guess I'll have to rely on you."
As he spoke, black liquid rapidly engulfed the surface of the armor.
With the symbiote's augmentation, Tony's movements became far more fluid.
"Bang! Bang!"
"Boom!!"
He raised his arm, and missiles erupted from the launchers, saturating the battlefield in a sea of flames.
"Roar!"
"Boom!"
As the fiery onslaught raged, Symbiote-Tony strode toward Xia Luo.
Looking up at the much taller Xia Luo, he spread his arms dramatically. "Are you really going to make New York's most handsome mayor look up to talk to you?"
Xia Luo glanced down. "You might have grown, but I'd suggest keeping your distance. You wouldn't want it to eat you."
"Eat me?" Symbiote-Tony smirked. "Sorry, but I think my partner's at the top of the food chain."
Before he could finish his quip, an octopus tentacle surged through the fiery haze, wrapping tightly around Symbiote-Tony's ankle.
"Oh no."
"Crash!"
Symbiote-Tony was yanked violently off his feet. The black liquid coating his suit struggled to resist, but as the tentacle's suction cups began secreting the same black substance, the symbiote within Tony's body seemed to recognize the presence of something truly terrifying. Without hesitation, it retreated deep into Tony's body.
With the symbiote's power withdrawn, the now gold-and-red armor was helpless against the overwhelming force.
"Somebody save me!" Tony yelled.
Magical sparks flared to life as a glowing portal materialized amidst the flames.
"Buzz!"
"Slice!!"
The massive portal closed in an instant, bisecting the symbiote beast's body.
The severed tentacle lost all strength but unleashed an even more terrifying pull as it fell.
"Roar!!"
The beast's bisected form rapidly regenerated, black liquid stitching it back together in seconds. Its gaping maw opened wide, poised to devour both Tony and the symbiote within him.
Neither scorching flames nor physical attacks seemed to pose any threat to the monster.
Before it could strike, Xia Luo swiftly severed the tentacle binding Tony.
Though Symbiote-Tony was rescued, he was immediately engulfed once more by the surging black liquid.
"What a pain," Xia Luo cursed under his breath. Sparks crackled along the device on his arm as his malfunctioning time machine erupted with golden light once more.
"Buzz!"
"Boom!"
A blinding flash enveloped the battlefield, and two massive figures vanished from the ruins in an instant.
"They're gone again," young Steve Rogers said, staring at the remnants of Symbiote-Tony's battered armor. Without hesitation, he led Natasha and the others away from the scene.
"Stark's armor is wrecked," Scott remarked. "We should take this chance to teach them a lesson."
Young Steve shook his head. "It's pointless. We need to prepare for a far greater threat—a war we might not even win."
---
Far from Symbiote-Tony's universe, two massive figures clashed violently within a swirling temporal corridor.
"Roar!"
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
Scarlet tendrils tangled with octopus tentacles in a fierce tug-of-war. A freshly regenerated scorpion tail repeatedly lunged at Xia Luo, only for him to dodge each strike with precision.
The vibrant landscapes of the corridor streaked past at incredible speed. Xia Luo braced himself against the beast's gaping maw, his magical energy bursting from his body in waves to repel the encroaching black liquid.
"Alright, big guy, I surrender! Can't we just call a truce?" Xia Luo gritted out.
The symbiote beast's enormous pupils reflected the faces of Otto Octavius, Norman Osborn, and others in rapid succession. Its voice emerged as a chilling amalgamation of all their tones.
"Spider-Man, this time, you die."
The eerie sight sent a shiver down Xia Luo's spine.
Moments later, the symbiote beast slammed him out of the temporal corridor, smashing through the kaleidoscopic tunnel.
"Crack!"
"Boom!!"
On a city coastline, Lizard-Peter basked under the sun, reclining on the beach. His senses tingled, and he sat up, removing his sunglasses to gaze at the enormous portal in the sky.
"What the—?" His confused expression turned to delight before shifting to terror.
"Oh no, that useless idiot is back! And worse, he's huge! My goddess is doomed—wait, no, I'm doomed!!"
"Boom!!"
Lizard-Peter's panicked cries were drowned out by the deafening crash as a massive entity slammed onto the beach, its destructive force tearing through the coastline. Nearby skyscrapers shuddered from the impact.
"That's…"
On a rooftop, Gwen, about to attend a cosplay event in her Spider-Man outfit, nearly dropped her mask at the sight.
"This is bad—Peter's still down there!"
As the realization hit her, golden light flared once more, and the two towering figures vanished without a trace.
All that remained was a massive crater filled with black sludge, a grim reminder that the chaos had been all too real.
Before long, Gwen arrived at the scene, her expression resigned as she began the familiar task of gathering Lizard-Peter's remains.

Jurassic Universe
"Make way! The best driver in the multiverse is running late!"
In the dense primordial jungle, between massive skeletal skyscrapers, a red-and-blue Tyrannosaurus Rex thundered down a narrow forest path, sparks and flashes trailing in its wake. On its back, a duck-billed dinosaur grumbled endlessly.
"Driver, I'm giving you three minutes. If you don't get me to my destination by then, you're not getting paid," the duck-billed dinosaur declared.
Hearing this, T-Rex Peter's eyes widened in determination.
"No! I'll make it! I swear!"
"Crack-crack-crack!!"
With a roar, T-Rex Peter's legs churned against the ground as he executed a perfect drift around a pack of raptors, then launched himself off a deadwood bridge.
"What... are... you... doing?!"
The duck-billed passenger's jaw dropped, its eyes wide with terror.
"Boom!"
The next moment, T-Rex Peter landed flawlessly. "Shortcut," he said nonchalantly.
"You reckless driver! I'm filing a complaint!"
Before the duck-billed dinosaur could finish its rant, a blinding golden light engulfed the jungle ahead.
"Buzz!"
"Boom!!"
A terrifying creature crashed down, sending shockwaves that splintered trees and scattered debris.
"Bang!"
T-Rex Peter hit the ground, ducking to avoid the violent shockwave. As the tremors subsided, he noticed a distinct lack of weight on his back.
Realization dawned. That guy had been blown away by the wind.
"Heh, great! No complaints now... wait, no! He hasn't paid me yet!"
Panic filled T-Rex Peter's tiny eyes as he scratched his chin helplessly with his little arms.
Just then, the jungle in front of him darkened under the shadow of something massive. Two familiar figures emerged from the dense forest.
"Two Spider-Men?"
T-Rex Peter instinctively stepped back. "Why's that guy here? Don't tell me he's still coming after me, the greatest driver ever?"
"No. That's too terrifying."
He quickly turned to flee, sneaking glances over his shoulder at the two giant figures.
"Caw, caw, caw! Spider-Man, so am I!"
The symbiote beast, camouflaged as Spider-Man with chameleon DNA, twisted its grotesque face. Its mouth stretched to the back of its head as it mimicked Spider-Man's signature web-shooting pose.
Xia Luo tilted his head, dodging the incoming web, then countered with a punch that landed squarely on the beast's face.
"Boom!!"
The sheer force of the blow warped the symbiote beast's face, leaving a large fist-shaped dent.
"Fun!"
Instead of retreating, the symbiote beast cackled and lunged at Xia Luo, grappling with him ferociously.
Xia Luo sighed in exasperation.
The symbiote's cells, combined with Morbius's regenerative power, made this thing virtually indestructible.
Coupled with the malfunctioning time machine that caused constant interdimensional jumps, it was almost impossible for Xia Luo to extract the creature's soul.
Any delay would allow the symbiote's cells to invade his body.
He needed to stabilize the time machine—fast.
Lost in thought, Xia Luo was caught off guard when the symbiote beast's body suddenly ruptured, its tissues exploding outward. The unexpected blast sent sparks flying from the device on Xia Luo's arm as golden light erupted once more.
"Buzz!"
"Boom!!"
---
Asgard
The resurrected fire giant Surtur raised his massive flaming sword, sweeping it across the battlefield. The intense heat melted Asgard's ornate structures, engulfing the grand city in raging infernos. Roaring in unbridled fury, Surtur vowed to bring about the complete destruction of Asgard.
The sudden appearance of a golden portal made him pause momentarily.
On the crumbling Rainbow Bridge, Thor led the Asgardians in their retreat. When two massive figures tumbled from the portal into the chaos, his expression darkened.
"What are those?"
He blinked in confusion as Loki squinted at the scene.
"It's Spider-Man... and a symbiote hybrid."
"You know them?" Thor asked.
Loki shook his head. "Not personally. But I've seen them."
"Stop talking and focus on the evacuation!"
"Fine."
Thor directed the Asgardians to board their escape ships.
In the fiery battlefield, the symbiote beast and Xia Luo writhed in pain, finally affected by the searing heat.
"Interesting little creatures," Surtur muttered, his booming voice reverberating across the cosmos as he gazed down at the two.
Compared to the thousands-of-meters-tall fire giant, Xia Luo and the symbiote beast were no more than ants.
With the power of the Eternal Flame coursing through him, Surtur could obliterate Asgard's defenses with a mere wave of his hand. Xia Luo could only dream of achieving such power.
The "Invincible Spider-Man" was still a long way from being truly invincible.
But no matter.
When you can't win, you run.
Without hesitation, Xia Luo activated his wrist device, unleashing a burst of golden light.
"Buzz!"
In the blink of an eye, both figures disappeared, leaving Surtur bewildered.
---
Temporal Corridor
"Get lost!" Xia Luo shouted, kicking the symbiote beast away.
In the glowing corridor, he formed hand seals, and the spider emblem on his chest lit up. Spider-Man's unique magic conjured a dazzling magic circle.
Time to summon a Spider ally!
The unused reward from the last resurrection tournament was still available.
Originally, Xia Luo had intended to summon a Spider-Man with a different attribute, but desperate times called for desperate measures.
Repairing the time machine was urgent—there was no time to waste.
"Buzz!"
The temporal corridor erupted with radiant light as the time machine integrated into the magic circle.
"Era—no, space-time summon! Come forth, the most dazzling Spider in the multiverse!"
"Crack-crack!"
In an instant, the magic circle condensed into a golden figure. A magnificent Spider crept onto Xia Luo's body, its eight legs spreading web patterns across his suit and transforming it into shimmering gold and blue.
At that moment, the power of time and space flowed into Xia Luo. His mind was flooded with coordinates of multiverses he had visited before.
This was the time machine's true function.
If Xia Luo possessed the temporal powers of Kang the Conqueror, he could manipulate time and space at will.
But alas, no "if" existed.
Being able to traverse the multiverse freely wasn't bad, though.
Even better, the temporal spider's abilities, combined with Xia Luo's teleportation magic, promised many surprises.
As the symbiote beast lunged again, Xia Luo chuckled softly.
"Perfect. For a monster like you, I'll call in this guy."
Golden light flickered in his eyes as his teleportation magic locked onto a figure in the multiverse.
"Buzz!"
With a headlong charge, Xia Luo rammed into the symbiote beast, dragging it through the barrier of space-time.

An Unknown Spider-Man Universe
"Boom!!"
"Crack!"
A streak of light shot from the sky, crashing through a skyscraper and landing with a thunderous impact.
In the street's wreckage, a heavily injured Spider-Man lay twitching as a vampiric noblewoman pinned him down with her heel.
"Heh. Little bug, give me your power," Reina purred, her crimson lips parting as she began draining the Spider totem from him.
"Stop!"
Thick webbing, as strong as a ship's mooring rope, shot toward Reina with immense force. She frowned, dodging the ambush, and turned to see another Spider-Man perched on a rooftop.
"A man willing to risk it all to save his comrade—Spider-Man!" declared Takuya Yamashiro, striking a dramatic pose that made Reina scowl.
"Do you always have to be this cringe?" she asked.
Takuya leaped down, landing in a half-kneel. His voice dropped to a somber tone.
"Once, someone asked me the same thing. But a man who's returned from hell... has no answer to give."
With that, he swung toward Reina, delivering a flying kick aimed at her head.
"An interesting Spider-Man," Reina remarked coldly. But before she could retaliate, a golden portal suddenly opened.
"What is that?"
"Oh my god, a giant Spider-Man!"
"Boom!!"
The sound of a massive impact tore through the streets as an enormous entity descended, unleashing a gale that swept Takuya off his feet.
"Ah! A man who doesn't give up, even when ambushed—Spider-Man!"
Xia Luo: "..."
Although he'd successfully located Reina, he couldn't shake a sense of unease.
This might take some getting used to.
