Chapter 28: Taught a Lesson
The moment the haughty saleswoman finished her words, both Xu Feng and Elena frowned slightly.
Before Xu Feng could even get the chance to respond, Elena stood forward, shielding him from the other party.
"Sandra, we are trained to be polite and respectful to the customers. Speaking in such a tone is only going to get you into trouble." Elena warned, squinting her eyes.
"Heh, are you really trying to me after only working here for around a week?" Sandra snickered coldly, paying no mind to her warning.
"I've been working here for a long time and just a glance is enough to tell whether they are truly customers or just a waste of time." She added, purposely staring at Xu Feng.
Her implication was quite clear that she meant to say Xu Feng was obviously a poor bumpkin.
Hearing those words, Xu Feng was usually quite restrained of himself, but he couldn't help but wonder what was the deal with this Sandra.
Even if he dressed quite ordinary, she shouldn't have gone so overboard with her words--- unless there was a more important individual that Sandra was looking out for.
Sure enough, his deduction was on point when Elena began to speak on behalf of Xu Feng.
"Sandra, I know you're just trying to chase away customers because you were informed an important person might come here anytime. But what you're doing is no different than ruining the reputation of our store." Elena chided.
"Hmph, since you know we're going to have important people coming in, then why are you even greeting others? Just shove these peasants away!"
As if knowing that arguing with Elena wouldn't help, Sandra decided to point her finger at Xu Feng and raised her voice, "You can just leave and go to some shabby stores for your smartwatches. Our items are too expensive for you!"
"Oh? Too expensive you say?" Xu Feng was nearly at a breaking point to slap the crap out of this woman's face.
He began to fix the position of his glasses and was about to give Sandra a reality check that he could indeed afford it until another woman suddenly dragged his arm and placed her behind him.
'What the hell is going on?' Confused, Xu Feng didn't even get a chance to comprehend the situation when the woman snorted coldly.
"You have a lot of nerves to reprimand a friend of mine, Sandra!" freewёbnoνel.com
It was almost as if a bucket of cold water had splashed on Sandra's face, she instantly became pale and retreated a few steps.
Stuttering, she wanted to defend herself, "M-Miss, I didn't know he was your friend. If I had known he was your friend, I wouldn't have dared to block him even if the sky fell down."
During this brief interaction, Xu Feng finally recognized the woman who had dragged him behind was the same woman he was trying to escape from.
At the same time, he noticed Elena had a brief smirk on her face, almost as if she expected such an outcome.
'How hilarious. No wonder why she was so polite to me.' Xu Feng instantly understood many things from that small gesture.
From the beginning to the current situation now, Elena knew he was involved with this dominating woman who was overwhelming Sandra and had purposely riled Sandra up to create such an effect.
How devious and malicious of her!

But Xu Feng must say that she was indeed a great schemer, and wanted to give her a thumbs up.
Since he now realized it was a plot created by Sandra, he decided to take a step back and watch the scene unfold. Either way, Sandra had irritated him, so why should he assist her?
Had Sandra been polite in asking him to leave, Xu Feng might have helped her out. It was just a shame that her own character was terrible and allowed others to scheme against her easily.
'Have a taste of your own medicine now,' he was positive that today might be the end of her career, and even if it wasn't, a demotion was guaranteed.
"Miss Zhang, I apologize for the situation." Elena quickly bowed down and apologized for the negligence. "I didn't take care of the situation properly which caused your friend to be humiliated."
Her tone was filled with repentance and created a glorified effect of admitting to being in the wrong despite not being in the wrong.
Her actions were by no means a plea for Sandra's behavior, but one that sentenced Sandra to doom.
After all, Miss Zhang, or Zhang Jingyi's facial expression turned even fiercer.
"You're really good, Sandra. It seems like your standards are really immaculate. Does that mean if I was to dress a bit poorly, then I am some poor bumpkin as well?" Zhang Jingyi asked, smiling widely.
Panic and horror quickly surfaced upon Sandra's face as she went down on her knees, begging desperately, "No, Miss Zhang. I was wrong. It's just that we have an appointment with Director Gao, so I didn't want him to be disturbed."
"Wow, so Director Gao's importance is that high in your opinion huh. I'm afraid my Zhang's Electronics is beneath you." Zhang Jingyi sneered.
When Zhang Jingyi spoke those words, it was as if a guilty verdict had been handed down to Sandra, sealing her fate.
However, it was right at this moment that Xu Feng stepped up and said, "She's just trying to ensure an important person does not get offended during his time in your store, Miss Zhang. There's no need to fire her over this matter."
"Are you sure? She was quite rude to you and even humiliated you." She raised an eyebrow, seemingly confused by his attitude.
"Well, it's not like what she said didn't have some truth in it." Xu Feng shrugged his shoulders.
"I'm indeed dressed poorly, so being suspected of not being able to afford the items here is understandable. Besides, you've already taught her a lesson with that scolding, and I doubt she would dare to behave in such a manner in the future."
