Reincarnated With A Glitched System: Why Is My MP Not Running Out?

Chapter 1654: The Demon Clans

-----

Aquarina heard her parents explain to her more about the Demon Clans. There were many that she knew about, such as the Fly Clan that were Insectoid Demons, the Multi-Armed Clan, the Phantom Demon Clan, the Jaw Demon Clan, the Tail Demon Clan, and more. Most of the ones she knew about belonged to the Clans her friends were part of.

She knew the Fly Clan was almost extinct, and that's where Beelzebub came from. There was also the Mimic Clan, which were even rarer, where Furoh originated from, they were amazing shapeshifters but are unfortunate beings born as small worm-like creatures, often mistaken for monsters and hunted even by other Demons.

The Phantom Demon Clan have a special connection with the dead, born as capable Necromancers, they're able to communicate with the souls of the dead and control them, creating phantoms and ghosts with their innate magic. Celica was a pure-blooded Phantom Demon, and so was her mother. Her abilities only manifested years after they met her though.

Jaw Demons were Mist's Clan of Demons, they have very white skin, almost pale like chalk or candlewax, long white hair, perhaps fluffy like Mist, or maybe that's her own trait. And they have four eyes, two large human-like eyes, usually gold in color, and another smaller pair of completely black eyes with white pupils that serve as eyebrows too.

They have small, cute noses, and their nose connects to their jaws, which are wide and large all across their mouth, usually hidden until they eat something big. Mist has shown to be able to expand her jaw up to five times its original appearance, and she could go even further. They were also known for being able to store things inside their jaws like Mist does.

Tail Demons are the Demon Clan that Celeste came from, although she's also a half-human. Tail Demons have long tails with a pointy, stinger-like tip which they can use to pierce foes like a small spear and inject paralyzing venom. Apparently they originally have purple skin and large black horns resembling tree branches, but Celeste has the human-like white skin and also small horns instead.

And then, there were the Goliath Clan and the Dominus Clan, completely unknown to them, and perhaps just how many clans were also unknown to them, were among the most fierce and strongest of them all.

"The previous Demon King was a member of the Goliath Clan…" Nepheline said. "Their skin is usually gray, but it can be of a very pale gray almost white too… Could the new demon king be a Goliath instead? Was he very tall? Even a young Goliath Clan Demon man is roughly three meters tall, they can get as big as five or six meters though, but they're overall humanoid, just enormous."

"No… there's no way he was a Goliath, his skin was more like the white skin of humans, with a bit of red and pink color, not pale," explained Aquarina. "Hm… And he wasn't tall either, he was only a bit taller than Sylphy, probably below my own height."

"T-That small?" Shade wondered. "Then he's definitely not from the Goliath Demon Clan… Then Dominus? They do have purple hair most of the time… And black horns."

"Yeah…" Nepheline nodded. "But their skin is either red, purple, or charcoal black. Not… human white skin."

"…" Shade remained in silence. "Then the possibility of the new demon king being the child of a human and a Dominus Clan Demon is not zero… intriguing."

"I-Is it that bad?! What's wrong with him being half human?" Aquarina asked. "He's still an asshole!"

"It matters more than you think, Aquarina," Shade said. "It means he's both the creation of the gods and also part of this world. He might be able to infiltrate our society very easily with his appearance, as long as he hides his horns and hair color with magic, wouldn't he look exactly like a human?"

"T-That's…" Aquarina fell silent. "Have Demon Kings never tried to infiltrate?"

"No, they're prideful rulers, usually old men, never this young…" Nepheline said. "They always remain on their continent, protecting it. I don't think it has ever been documented that they stepped out of the demon continent before."

"Woah… Then this bastard means serious business, huh?" Aquarina felt slightly intimidated. "The hell do we do now?"

"We'll gather all the intelligence and information we can extract from your dream and then report it to the King and the other Rulers of nearby Countries," explained Shade. "To tell them to prepare for anything. And to spread the news…"

"The news?" Aquarina asked.

"You don't really get it, Aquarina?" Nepheline asked. "Whenever a Demon King awakens, there's a lot of fuss all over the world. It means that war is coming once more… And everyone has to prepare for it."

"I-Is it that bad? But the previous demon king…" Aquarina muttered.

"He was defeated yeah, btu a new one raises, and his intentions might be even more malicious than the previous one…" Shade said. "Before they were prideful rulers and guardians, sometimes also mighty sorcerers. But one as sadistic as the one you described, that even came to the Elven Kingdom to kill you and Sylphy? He's much more different than anything we've ever faced before…"

"But didn't we agree we weren't going to kill the Demon Kings?" Aquarina wondered. "I mean Sylphy said it! A-And…"

"But didn't you see what he did in your dreams?!" Nepheline asked. "He's not the same as the previous ones! We have to prepare… I am not saying we should go and kill him first- no, of course not! But… You're never too prepared, Aquarina. I know the Human Continent Alliance will take advantage of this to make their colonization of the Demon Continent even stronger as an excuse but… I don't know we should keep it a secret."

"R-Right…" Aquarina sighed. "Dammit… I can't believe I became the one to tell the bad news to the world… This is fucked."

"Calm down," Shade said. "It isn't as if we won't try to reason with him once we met him. If the circumstances are good enough, we will try to speak with him. And if he still doesn't want to, we'll beat him good and then force him to talk with us again."

"A-Ahaha, yeah, I guess that's the best we can do…" Aquarina giggled a bit, she didn't know her father could be a comedian. "Aw man, and I was so hyped to create my friend's physiques, now I feel all down…"

Her parents looked at one another for a moment and then patted her shoulders.

"Let me cook you whatever you want, dear," her mother said.

"Yeah, how about some cream puff? I have some ingredients stashed," her father said. "I know you liked the ones Sylphy made so I got the recipe."

"R-Really?" Aquarina felt a bit happier. "Okay…"

As the morning finally began for Aquarina, she ended walking downstairs to take a bath, finding nobody was awake yet except the chief. Her friends were all asleep!

"Good morning everyone, I heard something happened… Are you feeling better, Aquarina?" Agua's mother wondered, worried.

"I'm fine, thank you, just a bad dream…" Aquarina smiled lightly. "I need to take a bath, could I go downstairs, chief?"

"Of course, this house is yours as well, Aquarina, go down and have a nice bath. We'll prepare breakfast with your parents," Agua's mother said, patting her head.

"Thank you…" Aquarina sighed in relief, as the warm waters of the underground hot spring relaxed her mind and body.
