Reincarnated Prince of Kaligarh

Chapter 40: Chapter 40: “The Thunder of Siege”

📜 Previously on The Last Prince of Kaligarh:

Aryan has gathered his army and allies, set the trap for the traitor, and prepared a detailed plan to besiege Kaligarh. The envoy from Suryapur has arrived, and the three women close to Aryan have been introduced with much laughter. Now the long-awaited siege begins.

SCENE 1 – THE MORNING OF SIEGE [SUNDARHAV CAMP – DAWN]

The camp is alive with clashing steel, marching feet, and the rhythmic pounding of war drums. Soldiers polish armor, ready weapons, and stand in formation. Banners wave in the chilly morning breeze.

Aryan stands atop a raised platform before his assembled army—30,000 strong. His cloak flutters, eyes blazing with purpose. Sena and Veer sit quietly at his side, their orange and golden fur glowing in the early light.

He raises his hand. Silence falls.

ARYAN (voice steady, powerful)

Brothers and sisters, today we stand on the edge of history. Behind those walls lies the city that took our home, our family, and our honor. But that city is not just stone and mortar—it is the heart of a kingdom that belongs to us.

He pauses, eyes sweeping the crowd.

ARYAN

They call us rebels. Outsiders. But we are the rightful heirs. The future. Our blood runs with the fire of Kaligarh's past kings—and the courage of every soul who dares to stand with us today.

He leans forward, voice rising.

ARYAN

We will not charge blindly. We will strike with mind and blade. We cut their food, their supplies, and their will to fight. We show them a king who leads from the front and fights for justice.

He clenches his fist.

ARYAN

Today, the walls of Kaligarh will tremble—not just from our weapons, but from the roar of our hearts. Stand with me! Fight with me! And together, we reclaim what is ours!

The army erupts in cheers, raising swords and shields high.

SCENE 2 – THE FIRST STRIKE [SIEGE LINES – MORNING]

At the front, Aryan signals to a squad carrying a massive siege weapon—a trebuchet gifted by the northern kingdom of Suryapur. It's new to his army but gleams with craftsmanship.

Aryan grins.

ARYAN

Let's give them a welcome they'll never forget.

The trebuchet hurls a huge flaming boulder, crashing into the enemy walls with a deafening BOOM! Dust and debris fill the air. Soldiers inside the city gasp and stumble back.

Aryan laughs, voice teasing and loud enough for enemy watchers.

ARYAN

That's the sound of your nightmares, friends! You didn't know what hit you, did you?

His soldiers laugh and cheer, emboldened.

SCENE 3 – THE ENEMY RESPONSE [KALIGARH WALLS]

From the city gates emerges a figure in polished black armor, his presence commanding silence—General Raghav Varun, known as the "Iron Hawk," a brilliant tactician and ruthless warrior.

A spy within Aryan's camp whispers urgently to Viraj.

SPY

General Raghav Varun... He's the one who crushed the rebels five years ago in the South. Cold, cunning. Not one to be underestimated.

Viraj immediately alerts Aryan.

SCENE 4 – ARYAN'S REALIZATION

Aryan's smile fades, eyes narrowing.

ARYAN

So the snake has come out of its hole. This will not be easy.

SCENE 5 – THE DEFENSE ORGANIZED [KALIGARH WALLS]

General Raghav commands the city's troops with fierce discipline. He reorganizes archers, infantry, and cavalry, directing them to reinforce weak points where the siege weapons hit.

He orders the construction of counter-siege devices and trenches to slow Aryan's advance.

The enemy soldiers rally behind him with renewed vigor.

SCENE 6 – THE NIGHTFALL RETREAT [SIEGE CAMP]

As the sun dips below the horizon, both sides pull back from the battlefield. The camp fills with the sounds of weary soldiers and quiet murmurs.

Aryan sits beside the fire, muscles tense but mind sharp.

ARYAN (to Viraj)

Raghav Varun is a formidable foe. We'll need every trick, every ally.

He glances at the flickering flames.

ARYAN

Tonight is but the calm before the storm.
