Reincarnated Maid is About To Be Captured by All Players

Volume 2 Chapter 34

Hornheim and his group successfully intercepted Gruman of the Black Hawk Mercenary Group, allowing us to continue our desperate escape. I glanced at Trafalgar and Higdelytha, seeing fatigue etched on their faces.

After narrowly escaping death twice, there was little joy among us.

Everyone seemed to realize what we lacked was a truly safe haven.

Ivanhe and Hornheim risked their lives for us to escape, but we couldn’t find a safe place to go.

Like patients with terminal illnesses without a cure, the best the doctors can do is keep them alive as long as possible.

“Here they come again.”

Higdelytha’s bitter smile served as a reminder. The Black Hawk Mercenary Group’s pursuers were on our heels once more.

I believed in the abilities of Lord Ivanhe and Anna’s Support Group. They definitely could hold off their respective enemies. The ones chasing us were the third wave of Black Hawk Mercenary Group’s adventurers.

As the second largest mercenary organization in the Kingdom of Mikael, just after the Rod Mercenaries, the Black Hawk Mercenary Group was indeed on a different level compared to the guilds we had encountered before.

“Sorry, maybe breaking out under the cover of night wasn’t the right decision…”

“Don’t talk nonsense,” Trafalgar responded. “Once the encirclement was formed, it was only a matter of time before we encountered them. The later it got, the denser their numbers would be. Encountering them early was a good thing.”

“But…”

The reality was, we were being driven into a corner.

The Black Hawk Mercenary Group, like endless-mode zombies, kept coming wave after wave, seemingly never-ending.

Chris once said that Anna’s Support Group conservatively had over ten thousand members. Then the Black Hawk Mercenary Group, even larger than Anna’s Support Group, was indeed a formidable force. In a game where numbers matter, this outcome was expected.

“Hey, elf, can you ride a horse?”

“Riding? I have some skills in that… Why do you ask?”

Upon receiving Higdelytha’s confirmation, Trafalgar immediately pulled the reins.

“I’ll temporarily transfer my mount’s usage rights to you.”

I looked back. We had just crossed a river.

With only one bridge across the river, cutting it off could buy us some time, relying on the terrain.

Continuing to run could result in being caught, as the Black Hawk Mercenary Group’s mounts, though not as good as Trafalgar’s, were in their prime with plenty of stamina for relentless pursuit.

“I excel in wind element magic, so I’ll disrupt the water flow to buy us time. At least their mounts won’t be able to cross.”

Trafalgar shattered the wooden bridge over the river with a single sword strike.

“My condition isn’t great. If they have someone specializing in wind magic, I’m in trouble, so I can’t guarantee how long I can hold them off.”

“Trafalgar, you…”

Adventurers from the Black Hawk Mercenary Group were already appearing on the opposite bank.

“…Please take care.”

【Anastasia’s fondness for “Trafalgar,” +1】

All I could do was express my mix of feelings in these few words. Trafalgar, even with the terrain advantage, couldn’t hold them off for long with his fatigue debuff, but he still chose to stay behind.

Higdelytha, as an elf, had a natural affinity with animals. Although her riding skill wasn’t high, she managed to calm the horse. I placed Carol Cat on the horse as well and continued our escape, suppressing the concern for the combat sounds behind us.

Where was our destination… even if Trafalgar delayed the pursuers, we couldn’t completely shake off the Black Hawk Mercenary Group.

“Ambush…!”

Higdelytha and I simultaneously shouted, warning each other. Her natural protection should have alerted her to danger sooner, but perhaps fatigue affected her ability to receive warnings from nature.

From the forests on both sides, several adventurers in black attire emerged. They were probably informed by the Black Hawk Mercenary Group through private messages or some other means. The forest might have been full of their ambushes; we just happened to run into them, despite our utmost caution.

I threw a chain at the nearest black-clad person, but my attack, slowed by severe fatigue, was dodged. I then swung the chain aiming for his head, but it passed right through.

Partial intangibility… not good. These adventurers were highly skilled…

Without hesitation, I threw chains backward, forming a massive cocoon to protect Higdelytha, Lily, and Carol Cat.

To avoid accidental harm, I created the shelter in an instant, and a harsh magical sound escaped my throat.

The Soundwave skill, Soul Calming Song, a magic skill with armor penetration. The closer the target, the more damage it

deals, causing short-term dizziness.

Despite my severe fatigue, I was still an accurate shot.

I leaped into the air, chains radiating outwards, precisely piercing each black-clad person’s chest.

“Phew… It’s safe now…”

I dissolved the chain’s shelter, but suddenly, a figure emerged from a nearby bush.

Using a camouflage item?! To avoid accidents, did they deliberately act separately from their comrades?

The black-clad person drew a dagger, aiming for Lily, then suddenly froze.

A giant scythe pierced through his body from the stomach.

“Cough…?!”

“I really don’t understand what the lady sees in you…”

A clear, pleasant voice of a strange girl sounded. The owner of the scythe appeared—emerging from the shadow of the black-clad person.

Dressed like me, a maid. The girl stood before us, an unexpected ally in our desperate flight.
