Chapter 375: [Wedding By Blood] [27] [Bleak Condition]
"Rejection Of Time."
Just as those words escaped my mouth, the entire world around me turned grey.
Without delay, I started walking forward.
Just as I passed Nehale—.
My heart sank as the detonation had already started to engulf Heather.
I quickly reached her.
The explosives had slowly started to burn her clothes and even a part of her skin.
'....Fuck.'
I bit my lips as I started removing the explosives that were covering her entire body.
Fuck! Fuck!
Even though I had slowed down the time to the limit, the explosives were just as fast.
They were brutally burning her skin along with mine.
Clenching my jaw, I cut down the wires that tied her down.
And....
Without a second thought, I removed her from the chair.
I looked back at Nehale, just inches away from drowning in the fire.
'....'
Clicking my tongue in annoyance, I rushed towards her before throwing her out.
For a fleeting second, my eyes met with Mariam, who was able to follow my movement.
I nodded once.
Grabbing Heather, I placed myself between her and the explosives, with my back against it.
'...Haah.'
Taking in a deep breath, I started making mana barriers shielding me.
The room started glowing in a bluish hue as more and more barriers started to emerge.
From ten to hundreds and then... thousands.
Just when I thought the barriers should help enough—.
Closing my eyes, I willed the time to resume its flow.
The explosion tore through the room.
Flames erupted in every direction, swallowing the space in a blinding, violent burst of light and heat.
The world shook.
And—.
"Urgh."
Like a broken kite, my body was thrown away, slamming against the wall.
The impact was so hard that I broke through the wall, plummeting down.
Fighting against the pain, I tried to adjust myself in the air.
With one thought, my shoulder blades twisted before a pair of wings emerged, breaking my fall.
Heather was still in my arms as I landed hard on the ground.
Rolling on the ground to disperse the impact, I finally came to a halt.
'Damn... that was close.'
Sitting straight up, I placed Heather down, whose entire waist region had been burned.
Her skin was blackened, blistered—her breaths shallow, almost nonexistent.
For a second, my mind went blank.
Then instinct kicked in.
I ripped my own shirt and pressed it gently against her wounds, trying to stop any further damage.
At the same time, I used Willis' ability to turn parts of my body into that of a vampire.
My injuries started to heal while I focused on Heather.
Taking in a deep breath, I started using Ruah.
A cluster of greenish hue emerged from my hand, soaking on her skin.
Slowly, her skin started to heal.
[<Focus on the part that's bleeding heavily.>]
'I am doing it!'
[<No, you're panicking. Slow your breath. Ruah will reflect your intent—calm down, Himmel.>]
I clenched my teeth, sweat dripping down my temples.
"Calm... calm..."
My hands steadied slightly as I poured more Ruah into her.
The greenish glow pulsed in rhythm with my heartbeat, faint and gentle.
Heather's breathing hitched, then steadied—just barely.
The most burned parts of her skin began knitting together, bit by agonizing bit.
Footsteps pounded toward me.
I thought it was Mariam, I hastily looked up—.
"We have found Segyal Heir."
Five men clad in blackish armour surrounded us.
The leader was talking with someone from an ear plug.
"He is with the Fenrir household Princess."
A brief pause in his tone before he continued.
"Both are injured. Princess is on the verge of death."
Heather's breath steadied as I stared at the men.
"As you wish."
He unsheathed his sword.
"Kill the Princess and take him hostage."
The others unsheathed their swords as well while I examined Heather.
'....She will live.'
A sigh of relief escaped my lips as I made a protective dome over her body.
My gaze shifted at the black-armored men who were closing in on me.
"Surrender."
One of them spoke in a haughty voice.
"You are already injured—."
My form blurred as I closed the distance between us in an instant, catching him off guard.
"Urgh!!!"
Grabbing his throat, I lifted him up high in the air like he weighed nothing.
Tightening the grip, I asked, "Are you from the Dark Trinity?"
"Argh!"
Hmm?
Why am I bothering with questions?
Crack!!
A sickening sound echoed within the place as I twisted his neck.
Throwing him away, I looked at the others who had tensed up in terror.
"Attack him together—."
I barged forward, not giving them the upper hand.
A blade of mana condensed in my hand, which I dug into one of their chests.
Twisting, I dragged the blade upward, slicing his skull in half.
I glanced back, the other three had already stuck together with two of them quickly forming a magic circle.
I turned, slowly walking at the rushing man.
He slashed horizontally.
I ducked under his swing while simultaneously digging my mana blade at his side.
"ARGHH!!"
He groaned while I looked at the other two.
It didn't take me a second to analyze their magic circle and make the exact same one.
Before they could even complete their circles, an explosive flame lance and a sharp circular blade burst toward them.
BOOM!!
It took both of them out while I smoothly evaded the man's cheap swing.
Before he could strike again, a claw made of mana ripped open his throat.
He tried to stop the bleeding as he fell down, choking in his own blood.
Just when I started walking towards Heather, I felt a few presences.
Looking up, I found Coretta, Mariam, and Orelena flying towards us.
"How are the others?" I asked as soon as they landed.
Before anyone could reply, Mariam walked forward, hugging me tightly.
"You are safe." She whispered, letting out a sigh of relief.
While... I felt incredibly uncomfortable.
I forcefully made her let go while I pointed at Heather.
"Help her first." I said, making them all look at her.
Mariam was the first to walk while Orelena and Coretta stared at me, dumbfounded.
"How did you survive that?" Coretta asked, looking at me. "What was that ability?"
"None of your business." I replied, walking towards Mariam.
Breaking the mana barrier, she touched the girl's body.
A sudden rush of Ruah engulfed the girl entirely.
Her wounds began to heal while I stared at Orelena, who was quietly standing on the side.
Her eyes met mine, and she flinched slightly about something.
'...'
That was enough for me.
"You know, don't you?" I asked, staring at my grandmother.
"What are you saying—?"
"The one who is behind the attack."
I interrupted her words.
"It's Uncle Jones."
****
"It's been a while…"
How could he not know?
"…My children."
Panicking, Elijah tried to break free the chains that bound him.
Something about the man made Elijah uneasy.
Like his heart was on the verge of bursting in his presence.
His movements were so loud that the man's grey eyes shifted towards him.
"Don't bother, Elijah." He said, his voice deep that chilled him down. "It won't break."
Elijah tried to calm himself down as he observed the man.
Unlike any Aljanah, he didn't have the purple hair but a vibrant hue of platinum, a face that should only belong to a fallen angel.
Deceiving yet incredibly beautiful to the point one might think of him as flawless.
What stood out the most were his deep grey eyes that seemed like void.
Grabbing a chair, Jones their father sat down.
"I am proud how you all turned out to be." He said, looking at them. "Except you, Avril. You are just a crybaby like before."
Avril flinched at his words, tears trickled down her face as she couldn't look at his face.
"...Ahh, do you still remember what happened before?"
He asked as if referring to a distant past.
"When I tried to kill you?"
"..."
Avril entire down trembled violently as she heard his words.
Jones stood up from his seat walking towards her.
"Believe me, daughter."
He said, crouching just beside her.
"It wasn't me who tried to sacrifice you. It was Baal who took over my body."
"L-let us g-go."
She pleaded as her tearful eyes finally looked at him.
"P-please."
"Don't worry my daughter."
Jones whispered softly, wiping her tears.
"I will never hurt my own blood—."
"STAY AWAY FROM HER!"
Killian yelled, trying to break free from his restraint.
"I will kill you if you do anything to her!!"
Jones closed his eyes, slowly he stood up before walking towards Killian.
Slap!!
A thunderous sound echoed within the cold room.
"Don't talk to your father like that."
He said, his voice cold as he looked down at Killian.
"Seriously, you wouldn't have been kidnapped if you could have killed me."
Jones moved away while Killian slowly raised his head.
Something clicked in his mind.
"Wait! Where is Heather!"
Elijah yelled as he frantically looked around the place.
But much to his horror, he couldn't find her.
"Oh, that dog?"
Jones asked, not hiding his disgust.
"She should already be dead by now."
"You!!!"
Elijah tried to rush at him but the chains held him in place.
"And yeah."
He turned to look at Killian.
"Cecily will also die in a few minutes."
Killian's mind turned blank at his words.
He couldn't even process what he heard.
"But don't worry."
He said, smiling at them.
"Nothing will happen to my children."
Just as he spoke, a vibration echoed in his pocket.
Jones took out the phone as the static voice soon changed.
"Sir..."
A timid female voice echoed from the other side.
"...We have lost five elite soldiers."
Jones couldn't help but be surprised. "This early?"
"They tried to capture heir Himmel."
The voice replied.
"He killed them within a minute."
Jones stood still for a while.
He had a clear idea of how strong his minions are.
.... Killing them in a minute isn't something to be scoffed.
The voice continued. "We suspect that he might be an Eternal rank."
"That's bullshit!"
Jones barked.
"It's not been more than two years since he started using mana!"
"..."
The voice didn't reply.
"Send the other troops in."
Jones ordered, his voice firm.
"I will take care of the demigods just as planned."
He didn't wait for the reply as he disconnected the call.
"What is even my nephew."
Jones mumbled as he looked back at his children.
"....Why are you not like him?"
Elijah was bleeding from his hand as he tried to break free while Killian was completely still.
"Now."
Jones sat back on his seat once again.
"Do you want to live?"
****
"Run!!"
"I-it's the immortal twins!!"
Chaos erupted in the crowd as everyone scattered.
"Zenith!"
Aimar yelled, pushing away the crowd who was bumping at him.
Zenith couldn't reply as she quickly tried to move towards Epione.
Her instincts were screaming to go in the other direction but her heart couldn't do so.
In the crowd, Aimar tried his best to follow behind her.
But—.
"Huh?"
A sudden pain in his side made him look down.
Blood soaked on the white shirt as a dagger had punctured his kidney.
Aimar quickly applied pressure to stop the bleeding as he looked around.
It wasn't long before he found the culprit.
Albus, his mother's twin, smiled at him from the crowd.
A blink later.
He vanished.
Aimar's senses immediately heightened as he fought the pain.
Zenith, on the other hand, had almost reached Epione.
The Asura girl was trying to separate the bride from the dead body of the groom.
"Epion—!"
Zenith couldn't even finish her words.
BOOMMM!!!
When like a meteor Khokan hit the ground sending a shockwave.
"Urgh!"
Zenith barely had time to grab a sturdy pole to not get swept by the force.
"HAAHAHAHA!!!!"
Like a maniac, Khokan started to swing his fist aimlessly at the crowd.
With no remorse, he killed anyone who came in his path, even children.
Zenith quickly rushed towards Epione at the broken altar.
"Hey! We need to run!!"
She said, trying to get a hold on her friend.
"Aunt, we need to go!"
Epione tried her best to make Leila move but the grief-driven woman couldn't.
"Epion—!!"
Zenith's words died in her throat as she felt a shadow looming over them.
Slowly she tried to look back.
And....
Her heart immediately sank.
Vikoka looked at them with his cold eyes.
A double-sided axe materialized in his hand as he raised it high.
"Sorry, child."
He whispered softly before abruptly lowering his weapon.
Zenith closed her eyes in fear but her body instinctively tried to protect Epione.
But—.
The pain she was expecting never came.
BOOMMM!!
What did come was the sound of someone crashing far away.
Slowly, she opened her eyes, finding a woman protecting them.
"Mama."
Zenith whispered as Yennefer looked back.
She smiled softly, making her child stand up.
"Let's go."
Yennefer whispered softly as she turned.
But—.
Zenith noticed something.
From the crowd.....
A masked girl was throwing a needle.
The world slowed down for Zenith.
The needle was laced with something.
....Poison.
And—.
It rushed towards Yennefer at an alarming speed.
