Reincarnated as the Last Villain

Chapter 37: Ashes in the Sky

The raven arrived at dawn.

Its feathers were soaked in blood. Its eyes clouded. Its message carved into bone, not paper.

Kael read the sigils once. Then twice.

And still… he didn't believe it.

Ravengarde has fallen. The Council is dead.Serana betrayed you.

Collapse

Kael's hands trembled.

Not from fear.Not from rage.

From something colder.

Something that whispered: "I should have known."

Vaenira read the message over his shoulder. Her voice dropped.

"She opened the gates to Zerath?"

Nilo dropped to one knee."Why? She was your first supporter. She swore her loyalty in fire—"

Kael cut him off.

"No. She swore loyalty… to the Kael I used to be."

The Fall of Ravengarde

The vision spell showed it clearly:

Serana, wrapped in white armor, leading Zerath's legions through the gates.Citizens chained.Temples burning. The Flame of Reclamation torn from the tower and broken in half.

And over it all…

Zerath's voice:

"The tyrant has forgotten his place.I've come to remind the world what fire is for."

The Message

On the back of the raven's bone:

One line.

Carved by Serana herself.

"If you truly are a god… come prove it."

[Ravengarde Status Update]

Captured by Zerath.

Serana confirmed alive, acting as high commander.

Civilian casualties rising.

Flame Reclamation Tower destroyed.

Kael's title as ruler revoked. Enemy now declares him "The False Flame."

The Decision

Kael stood before his remaining forces —a scattered army of loyalists, rebels, outcasts, and the last Flameborn.

He drew Ashendawn.

Its blade shimmered with memory… and judgment.

"I will not retake Ravengarde."

The crowd gasped.

"I will erase it."

Mission Activated: Ashfall

Goal: Retake Ravengarde by any means necessary.

Sub-objective: Confront Serana in the burning palace.

Twist: Serana may be a fragment holder — or worse, a vessel for Zerath's rewritten flame.
