Lord God Lu Yi couldn't believe with what was happening right now, out of all the unusual things that have happened to her in her entire existence, this is presumably the most impossible one.

A beating heart from a vessel that was barely 5 days old from conception was just impossible.

"You know, could it be that the… semen is really strong?", Xanthus replied, still finding the time to joke around even in their dire situation.

"W-what nonsense are you spouting again!?"

"Hey, if you have any ideas, I am all ears.. f-fuck", Xanthus was starting to struggle.

The both of them were trying their best to withstand the pressure being emitted with every heartbeat.

At this point, even talking to each other was taking its toll on their souls. When Lu Yi's pride could no longer take the humiliation of being suppressed by the very own vessel she should be possessing, she shouted.

"I, the Ruler of All that is Light, will not take this kneeling down!", Lu Yi mustered up all of her strength and summon a million blades of light.

But to her surprise, she could not control her powers, the blades that were supposed to obey her started pointing their edges at her and Xanthus.

"W-what are you doing, Lu Yi!?", Xanthus was alarmed at what Lu Yi was doing.

"It…it is not me! I have lost control of the blades!", Lu Yi started to panic as she tries to forcefully regain control of the millions of blades that she summoned.

"H-hey! Retract your blades at once!"

"GAAAH!", Lu Yi shouted with all of her might as she finally successfully regained control of her blades for a split second, immediately retracting the blades.

"That was really close, oh mighty Lord God. I swear, why are people from the east always want to be so arrogant and domineering!?", Xanthus scolded Lu Yi.

Although Xanthus doesn't really mind dying- as he was already tired with living, dying like a glowing porcupine is not the way he wanted to go. It was not a fitting end for The Devil, after all- or is it?

After a while, Lu Yi gathered her wits again and calmed down.

"I apologize, Xanthus. It is just that… I can not take this lying down. It feels like someone is toying with us.. like we are nothing but a pair of children.", Lu Yi regretted her actions and sighed. "When do you think this pressure upon us is going to stop?"

"I-", before Xanthus can even reply. A monotonous voice suddenly resounded through the darkness.

"W..who is speaking!? Show yourself!", even though Lu Yi still could not move properly, she shouted with all of her might.

"Oh boy, I do not like the sound of that..", Xanthus frowned as he felt that something dangerous was about to come. His thousand years of instinct that was honed in the battlefield is shaking, telling him to run away.

"Gathering of Souls? 2 SSS Souls? Could that be us!?", Lu Yi immediately analyzed the situation as she looked at Xanthus.

"I think you are onto something here, Lord God… There's only us two here.", Xanthus nervously chuckled in reply.

"1 SSSSS Soul!? Even stronger than us… wait, there is someone else here!?", Xanthus looked around as if he tried to see if there was another soul on board other than them.

"Could it be the owner of the eyes earlier!?", Lu Yi replied as she also tried to find this SSSSS soul that the voice was referring to.

Xanthus nodded in agreement. After all, out of this vast and empty core, the only things that have shown themselves so far were him, Lu Yi, and the mysterious pair of eyes.

Both Lu Yi and Xanthus could not help but scream in pain as they finally lost the strength to resist the pressure.

Suddenly, a pair of eyes appeared in front of them. The pressure that was being emitted by the voice have also disappeared.

"Y-you!?"

"Who are you!?"

The pair of eyes did not answer them and just looked down.

Hearing this, Xanthus shouted in panic, "Lu Yi, unleash all of your power! Unleash it now!"

But before Lu Yi could even react, both of their bodies began to sink in to the darkness. They felt themselves slowly being sucked in.

"W-what is this!? Absorption phase!? Do not tell me-", Lu Yi started to panic.

The reason why Xanthus told Lu Yi to release all of her powers was because he felt something like this before.

"Yes, this… is the same feeling I felt when I was about to disappear through oblivion…", Xanthus sighed in defeat.

"W-what!? This could not be! I need to live!", Lu Yi continued to struggle as she tries to pull herself out of the darkness.

"No! I refuse to give up, my friend sacrificed his soul in order for me to be here!", Lu Yi was putting all of her strength in to freeing herself. But like a quicksand that has claimed a million lives, her efforts were in vain. Tears soon fell upon her face.

Unlike Lu Yi, Xanthus held a calm expression. 'So… This is how it really ends for me…huh. Cortana, this is truly… farewell.'

Xanthus closed his eyes and smiled, readily accepting his fate. He started to reminisce the first time he met the Hero of Freiden. A woman in a full-plated armor, brandishing an axe as she threatened to end the Demon God's life. He could not help but chuckle as he remembers their memories together.

"No! I must live!", Lu Yi still continued to struggle, her voice almost cracking as the desperation in her started to grow.

Hearing Lu Yi's prayers, Xanthus was about to tell Lu Yi to give up and just accept her fate, but he paused when he saw the Lord God's face.

Lu Yi, was in tears. A being that is probably even older than him is crying. Lu Yi's expression was something that Xanthus was familiar with, it was the same expression his beloved showed when he was about to disappear.

Suddenly, Lu Yi's image and Cortana's overlapped in Xanthus' mind- and without hesitation, he reached out his hand.

"Lu Yi, Quick! Grab my hand!"

They did not know if there was a merit in doing so, but just like animals driven by instinct, both of them reached out their hands to each other.

"GAAAAAH!", "HHOOO!", both of them screamed their lungs out as they tried to pull themselves.

"GAAAH!", they continued to shout, but, like a mountain being pushed by a flicker of wind- their efforts were useless.

"LITTLE CHEEEN!!", "CORTAAANAA!", both of them could not help but shout their reasons for wanting to persevere. Yes, once again, Xanthus found a reason to live.

He was reminded that even if the whole world wanted him dead, if Cortana was there, living was worth it.

Realizing that no matter how much they struggle, their fate was sealed. Xanthus smiled as he started to calm down.

Lu Yi, who was still full of tears, did not reply. Instead, she just looked at Xanthus and nodded.

And with that final statement, Lord God Lu Yi also closed her eyes.

Lu Yi could not help but reminisce on her oldest memories, when she was still a mortal living in the cultivation world, how she grew stronger until she became an immortal, when she first met Lou Chen… and finally, her ascension to Godhood.

Both of them were now ready to accept their fate. They once again opened their eyes and stared at each others eyes with a warm smile.

Suddenly, the dark space distorted. A bald man came out of the darkness.

If Xanthus and Lu Yi were both still here, they would easily identify who this man was solely based on his eyes. Yes, the man was the owner of the huge eyes that was looking at them earlier.

The man walked towards to where Xanthus and Lu Yi disappeared into. He kneeled down as he stabbed his hands into the darkness. His whole body shook as if he was trying to pull something out of the ground.

He struggled for a while before finally being rewarded for his efforts as he could feel his hand loosening.

His hand slowly started to reveal itself as he slowly pulled two pair of hands holding each other from the darkness.

The man suddenly smiled and revealed a small laugh before opening his mouth, "Very well, children. The Karma of Fate allows it."
