Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World

Chapter 233: Are You Hungry?

Zod's bareback hit the sand with the force of Kael's full dive.

The sand was blasted into the sky as a wide crater was formed with Zod at the center.

Zod's mind raced in and out of conciseness, his eyes blankly staring at the body of the Iron Blood Shuttle above them.

Kael's right hand was still clamped tightly around his neck, and his other hand held onto the ripped-off arm.

Kael's eyes stared calmly at Zod's face. A piece of flesh was missing from one of Zod's cheeks, the place where Kael's knuckle had grazed him.

With his right hand still clamped around Zod's neck, Kael leaned his head down until his nose was almost touching the latter's.

Zod's conciseness was returning, only for him to notice Kael's face dangerously close to his own. Kael's eyes were beautiful, that was something he couldn't help but think.

It was a simple statement of fact, with nothing much to it. The black pupils, the gold iris surrounding the pupils, and the white part, all out together were very attractive when looked at up close.

"Let me ask you," Kael spoke telepathically. Zod didn't move, didn't blink, didn't nod, he just wanted to live.

"What was going on in your mind when you and your brother attacked me?" Kael asked. He was genuinely curious.

People hardly asked these questions, Kael wanted to know what exactly it was that would make someone see him and antagonize him on the spot.

"You didn't even know me, Was it because you wanted to know what I found in the mind of that octopus? Or was it because you wished to know how I had so many powers?

There has to be something deeper that gave you the mind to antagonize me,"

Zod blinked, unable to answer immediately as he felt that he could die if he gave the wrong answer.

"You…already know," Zod said telepathically, he still struggled to breathe with Kael's fingers piercing into his neck.

"Because I was weaker than you, because I appeared weaker than you," Kael stated.

Zod blinked again, that was the true answer.

If Kael had exposed his hidden strength to the world from the start, no matter what he had, Zed and Zod would have never tried to attack him.

The core reason they felt it wise to attack was that he appeared weak, that was the truth simplified.

"So, if I am to avoid annoying distractions like you in the future, I'll have to show my power more often," Kael said to himself and to Zod at the same time

"Please…let…me go," Zod pleaded.

Kael smiled, "My fellow Feline, when lions meet those like you, they either stay out of each other's way or annihilate them completely."

That was what Chloe told him.

Kael then let go of Zod's neck, he stood over Zod's body with a cold gaze.

Magic circles appeared under Zod's body, binding magic circles. Red strings shot out of the ground, wrapping around Zod's one arm and his two legs.

Zod had thought Kael would let him go, what was this?

"You want me to let you go so that you can come back to bite me later in the future?" Kael tilted his head and asked.

"No, I'd never do such," Zod said as he moved his legs, trying to break free but it was to no avail. He did not have the physical strength needed to break free from Kael's hold.

Meanwhile, at this time, multiple creatures had already gathered and were looking at the figure of Kael standing over the bound Zod.

Many recognized Zod, one of the former leaders of the settlement.

Kael continued staring at the struggling cheetah man for a few seconds before turning to the surrounding creatures that gathered.

Most of them were wolves, with foxes and a few bears. They all stared at Kael, expecting him to pass judgment on this enemy of his.

They had witnessed his power, they had seen how he battled this speedster and won, what would happen next?

"Are you hungry?" Kael suddenly asked all of them with an omni-directed telepathic wave.

Zod's heart sank the moment he heard Kael's question. What was he trying to do, why was he asking them if they were hungry?

Zof struggled harder than before, causing the red strings to glow brightly.

Kael's question stunned the gathered creatures and many more that were coming over.

"I asked a question, I want an answer," Kael frowned, "ARE YOU HUNGRY?"

One by one, the creatures began to nod their heads. Of course, they were hungry, was there ever a time that they weren't hungry? Especially with the battle they fought not long ago.

"Are you hungry?" Kael asked again with a firm commanding voice.

This time, the creatures nodded their heads with confidence, many of them could already guess what Kael wanted to do.

Same with Zod, despite the evening sea breeze, Zod had begun to sweat profusely.

"Good," Kael stated.

He stepped away from Zod's bound body, causing Zod to be overcome with a feeling of despair.

"Wait, don't go! Don't leave me here!" Zod shouted, his chest rose, and arched his battered back ignoring the sand grains sticking to his torn and bloody muscles.

As Kael walked away, realization flashed in the ways of the creatures. Even the most stupid ones among them now knew what Kael wanted them to do.

And they were eager to try it out.

A few wolves stepped forward, baring their teeth and claws at the bound body of Zod, but they didn't move too close.

There was no scolding from the king, Kael remained silent. This made the rest of the creatures even bolder than before.

Foxes with different numbers of tails crawled forward with saliva dripping from their mouths, bears growled as they inched closer to the panicking Zod.

There were hundreds of them, all staring with hungry eyes.

This was a tier 4 cheetah, surely, his flesh should be beneficial to them, right?

The amount of saliva dripping into the sand was staggering.

"Kael! Come back! Please don't do this to me! Please!" Zod was now crying profusely. His tears slid down the sides of his head and dripped into the sand beneath his head.

He was truly scared, frightened, and going mad. This was not the way he had planned to die, this was not a way he would wish for his own enemy to die.

"I promise, I'll not try to have revenge, I'll get far away from you, I'll run and I'll never look back," Zed said and he was serious about it.

If Kael released him now, true to his words, he wouldn't try to come back, at least, as long as he didn't get stronger. But still, he was genuinely serious about forgetting what Kael did to his brother.

His life was more important to him than petty revenge.

However, Kael did not react to any of Zod's words, he couldn't care less.

To Kael, so what if Zod was serious about his pleas, it didn't matter, he had already decided to kill him and prevent another case similar to Isaiah's.

Kael had made a distance of a few meters between the bound Zod and himself. He stopped walking, his winged back facing Zod's direction.

Zod raised his head to see that Kael had stopped walking and he was filled with a newfound feeling of hope. Perhaps, Kael had considered his words and was ready to compromise.

Perhaps, Kael had decided to show mercy upon him.

The creeping creatures also stopped their crawling march, forming a circle of teeth and claws a few meters from the heavily breathing Zod.

They had noticed Kael's pause and wondered what was wrong. Every move from Kael was under their watch as they felt obligated by his regal aura to monitor him.

"Thank you! Thank you so much, I promise to never come back, thank you…" Zod thanked Kal from the bottom of his heart.

He was no longer the serious twin among the cheetah brothers, now, he just wanted to get out of here and live, maybe find a female cheetah and have some cubs of his own, and settle down far away from here.

Everyone paid attention to Kael, waiting for his final judgment, the King delivered as expected.

A ruthless light flashed through Kael's eyes as he released a telepathic wave with only one word imbued in it.

"Eat…"

That word drilled into the minds of all the creatures present, having different effects on each of them.

For Zod, that word was a sentence to death, a reason for despair.

For the more than a hundred creatures surrounding him, that word was an invitation to a feast.

Immediately Kael's telepathic word settled in their minds, all the creatures lunged at Zod's bound body.

"AAAAARGH!*

Zod screamed loudly as he used the few remaining energy he had to conjure a wind barrier around his body.

The incoming snouts and fangs collided fiercely against the barrier as the wolves and foxes gnawed at him, unable to get close.

Alas, Zod was merely prolonging the inevitable, his fate was sealed.
