Chapter 1: PROLOGUE
The world was not always as we know it. There was a time when chaos reigned supreme. Colossal beasts, living embodiments of the primordial elements, ruled with a ferocity that defied all imagination. So powerful were they that even Erebus, the god of creation and balance, feared facing them. Under their shadow, mortal races were nothing more than fragile echoes, condemned to a desperate struggle for survival.
Back then, everything revolved around Elemental Energy, an ancient force that flowed through the very essence of existence. For mortals, it was but an unreachable spark. For the beasts, it was a natural extension of their power. Wherever they walked, mountains rose, oceans churned, and storms unleashed their fury. To Erebus, these creatures were more than a threat; they were chaos personified, a direct affront to his creation and the balance he had sworn to protect.
He could not stand idly by. Filled with sorrow, the god descended to the world to confront them. The battle that followed was like no other. The skies were torn asunder, and the earth trembled under the magnitude of the clash. But not even Erebus could destroy them; they were too powerful. Finally, he found a solution. Using his divine power, he separated the souls of the beasts from their bodies, imprisoning them in realms that existed beyond time and space. With that, the world was freed from their threat. But the cost was high: Erebus was weakened, and the earth itself was scarred by the marks of his sacrifice.
With the beasts gone, an era of prosperity began. Mortals built kingdoms, explored the secrets of Elemental Energy, and lived in peace. But that peace was not eternal. From the shadows emerged the demons, a ruthless race led by the fearsome Demon King. With him marched the Akumas, wild creatures devoid of free will, and his most dreaded generals: the Seven Angels of Death. The darkness they brought was devastating. One by one, the kingdoms fell under their assault, leaving behind a world stained with blood and despair.
Desperate, the mortals cried out to Erebus once more. Though weakened, the god heard their plea. But this time, there were no beasts to defeat, no easy solution, as he was still frail. So he made a drastic decision: he sacrificed what remained of his divinity and, with it, forged the first Reikens. Swords imbued with fragments of the souls of the beasts he had fought and sealed long ago, granting their wielders unimaginable power.
With the Reikens, mortals finally had hope. But the Demon King, cunning and merciless, was quick to counterattack. He captured Erebus and forced him to forge Reikens for his army. These weapons, however, were corrupted and shrouded in darkness. Once completed, Erebus was executed without mercy.
What followed was a war like no other: Reiken against Reiken. The battles left the world on the brink of collapse. The demons seemed invincible until, one day, an anonymous warrior, a hero, rose to lead the resistance. His skill and bravery rivaled even the Seven Angels of Death and the Demon King himself. With other Reiken wielders by his side, he faced the demonic forces in a final battle that shook the foundations of creation. In the end, the Demon King and the Seven Angels of Death were defeated, and the demons were banished to the barren lands of the Eternal Shadows, a place where light never reaches.
Yet, victory came at a high cost. Many Reikens were lost, the anonymous warrior fell, and his Reiken vanished into oblivion. The survivors learned a bitter lesson: peace is never eternal. That is why they dedicated themselves to training new generations of warriors, keeping the legacy of the Reikens alive.
Today, more than ten thousand years later, the world seems to have forgotten that war. But the scars of the past never fade, and peace is never eternal.
